Fish Tram Chips in Conwy

When in Llandudno we do fish and chips here . Never disapoints . This evening has my birthday tea so here once again. Pot of English tea , cod , chips and mushy peas . Left off with the bread and butter on this visit . Brill. My wife isn't the greatest fan of fish and chips but she loves it here as well . Prices have gone up but haven't they everywhere . All happy .

My wife and I have been visiting here for ten years. Today, 20th April 2024, our fish supper of cod , chips and peas was as excellent as usual. We consider the meal as good as you can get anywhere in the UK. Excellent, friendly service.

We went at 5.30 asked for steak pudding and haddock to be told non left need to get more in to keep up with the demand not everyone wants to eat at lunch time and have a meal

Walked in at 7:15 as sign on the door stated open till 7:30 and was greeted by a chef in blue with a "for f**k sake" great start! After he shouted the young girl from the back to take my order he carried on muttering under his breath, whilst I was waiting for my chips he then called me a D**k head I came close to jumping the counter but decided I'd be civil and speak with the manager when I informed her what had happened she asked him which he denied she then said "sorry but I didn't hear anything" she was polite but didnt really offer much of an apology, iv had a home delivery from here every Friday for the last year won't be ordering again

The set meal was brilliant. Delicious, fresh fish and chips with a pot of tea. We added 2 kids meals and some curry sauce and it was a great experience sitting eating and watching the trams.

Me and my Dad went here after (unfortunately) a poor experience on the namesake tramway, which was a shame, as I think the combined experience and location is a lovely idea. We'd come to Llandudno on a Blue Pullman journey (non-dining), and travelled up from Cornwall. We lucked out on having a few minutes to go before our pre-booked taxi back to the station was due, so Dad took a chance on us getting some chips here, which was a comfort, after the stress and the cold breeze. We were in a hurry, I already felt faint so waited outside until the taxi came, slightly early. Dad said it was lovely here, with a real cozy local how-are-you-today vibe, and I was surprised how big it was as it's got a cafe and all, we just got chips to go, and had them in town before we had to board our train. He explained about the taxi, and the cook said they'd turn up the cooker. So, I'm sorry we had to rush. Much appreciated service.

Clean cafe, friendly staff. Fish and chips poor value for money. Came out still hungry as portions small (did not order the small meal option) Chips OK but a little tasteless, fish OK, mushy peas consistency could have been better.

Lovely fresh hot food. Fish particularly was delicate, tender pieces falling from the fillet. Delectable! 👍

Chippy tea after visit to Bodnant Gardens. Food excellent, staff very friendly. The only reason I marked down atmosphere was that we arrived just as they opened the cafe part and we were the only customers eating in. Loads in the takeaway part however despite it being only 5pm. We will return!!

We used the take away. Absolutely brilliant. Great vegetarian choice, the food was really good and lovely staff. Also take away glasses of Prosecco! Who could ask for more! :)

A great situation though parking may be an issue for some in high season. Late arrival. We sat in and ordered haddock chips x 2. Bloody lovely. These people take their cooking seriously and everything is cooked to order. Fresh and delicious. Great place to eat.

A brilliant little find on our annual trip to the beach between Christmas and New Year. It's always hard finding somewhere to eat when you have a nut and peanut allergy. I messaged ahead using the messaging service and the staff got back to me straight away and gave me all the information I needed to know regarding eating there. Once we arrived there was a warm welcome and we were shown to our table. The service, surroundings and facilities were all clean and bright. The fish and chips were top notch; light, crispy and not greasy. Portions were spot on too! Rest assured we will be returning! Highly recommend this place.

Superb chippy. Cod was so flavoursome and chips just in the right amount. Was genuinely blown away by it. We visited 28 Dec as a group of 4. Service was excellent too, reassuring a member of our group with a nut allergy. Massively recommend this chippy.

The fish is good. Too salty fries.

We enjoyed lovely fresh cooked fish and chips. The team in the shop were engaging and passionate about their products. The chips especially had a lovely crispy outside with a soft and fluffy centre. Not too greasy and with the mushy peas and plenty of curry sauce the whole family was happy and satisfied.

I have tried so many definitely fish and chips throughout the United Kingdom. This place has to be at the top. I'm a chef so I know good food. The quality and flavour at this place is next level. The staff are friendly and helpful. So many places in the United Kingdom have such poor quality fish and chips. Even though they invented the meal. Everyone should visit this place and Cymru/Llandudno of course.

We called in yesterday after being on the tram up to the top of the great Orme, the service we had from the young lady who took our order, brought it all to our table, came & asked us if everything was OK, & then cleared away our plates ect, & all of this with the loveliest smile on her face, little treasure that young lady you need to hold on to her, As for our food, absolutely the best fish that we have had for a very long time, the fish was so tasty, just wonderful. & next time we come to Llandudno, we will definitely be back.

Best fish and chips we have had in years, freshly cooked with lovely crispy battered cod and amazing chips, had a pot of curry and mushie pea's, not forgetting the pot of tea with a spare pot of hot water, staff was amazing and lovely surroundings and atmosphere, will definitely be going back,

Day trip to Llandudno on a wet Wednesday in October - not the best weather, but we’d pre-planned to have fish & chips & had done our research. We wanted somewhere where you could eat in & this one came highly recommended. Ordered one Haddock & Chips & one small Cod & Chips - both with curry sauce. Both nicely cooked & tasty. We don’t often eat fish & chips & when we do, are often left disappointed & regretting it afterwards. Not on this occasion - we both enjoyed our lunch & cleared our plates ! Definitely worth the little trek up the hill …. even in the rain.

I am from Ellesmere Port and visited fish tram chips after walking the dogs on the west shore. It’s always been the go to chip shop since I was a child (now 39). It certainly delivered, the food was as beautiful as ever and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The dogs enjoyed their sausages too. Thank you!

Best fish and chips my partner and I have ever had!! Food was cooked fresh to order, chips had the perfect amount of salt and vinegar, and the portion sizes were perfect. Would highly recommend, especially if your visiting the area like we were.

Food is overpriced with the normal to just okay quality. I ordered two fish and chips, one of them obviously not fresh (my husband and I are fish lover and we also do fishing). I would not come back again, originally think it was good due to the long queue, but just maybe it closes to the tram station.

The food was great. I had cod and chips it was lovely. Just after I got in there a large family with children arrived. The children were running around the restaurant screaming and shouting. They also knocked into my table spilling my drink all over me and none of the staff did anything about it. I was glad to get out.

I've been visiting Fish Tram Chips for as long as I can remember and hands down still the best fish & chips in town!!! It was a grey rainy day when we visited so sat inside the cafe and there was cleared plates by all.

Great fish and chips. Neither greasy and both very tasty. Locals said it's expensive but seemed ok for being next to the tram. Recommended. They do take cards for transactions over £10.

Nice but expensive! £20 40 for a regular fish and chips and small fish and cone of chips, will look elsewhere next time we're in Llandudno.

Quality fish & chips, some of the best we have ever had with proper gravy! They also have some cracking craft beers from Wild Horse.

First time tried these, little bit more expensive that other chippys in Llandudno, but they were well worth it, beautiful cod and chips, we ate them outside, watching the trams, 5 star.

12 months between visits and not disappointed. Two portions of haddock and chips. Batter crunchy to the last bite. Fish cooked to perfection. Chips were also delicious. No puddle of oil at the bottom of the tray. Definitely value for money if you appreciate quality freshly cooked food.

We had a meal here today. Fish and chips for a family of four. It was okay. Chips were bitty like the last of the batch, but the fish was nice. It was also way more expensive than ones on the front, but was it any better. Who knows. They were having trouble with the frier so maybe that was the problem

We turned up after the shop had closed at 7pm, but the staff were brilliant, they kindly took us in from the rain and cooked us cod and chips. The shops is spotlessly clean. The chips were beautiful, golden and crispy with soft fluffy insides. The cod was also delicious with crispy batter and big flakes of jiucy fish. A great find.

Delightful service from two young men who were quite considerate talking to two old ladies 😃. The establishment was clean and tidy as were the toilets. The fish, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce were exceptionally delicious, although quite pricey, worth every penny, accompanied by a nice glass of chilled wine and all finished off with a pot of tea. A most enjoyable visit, thank you.

This chip shop sells pre cut frozen chips and passes them off as fresh cut chip shop chips, they are rock hard with a powder texture to the middle, rip off prices to! Manager said he's been cooking chips for 20yrs, anyone with a bit of common sense can tell real chips from fake. The fish was tasteless also, the batter was like a gluten free batter. Absolute rubbish.

Chips and fish were fine,batter on fish wasn't thin and crispy,too thick and gravy tasted like it had rosemary in it.

Very expensive for the portion size, been going here for years and this year the difference was obvious. Can't knock the taste, always good but we left still Hungry, high prices and small portions

Great traditional fish and chip shop. Take away and dine in available. Always busy In the summer time so will have to wait but definitely worth it. The batter on the fish is light and crispy and is cooked to order. Quite expensive but then the location is always going to bump the price up a bit. But it is worth it for the taste. Service is always 💯 and staff are friendly and polite. Ticket ordering system so enjoy the view whilst your waiting. Couple of benches outside to sit and eat at or you can dine in there restaurant. I've never ate in but it looks very clean inside and is always a locals favourite which speaks volumes.

Oversalted chips been unable to eat, extremely oily fish, no napkins and moreover paid for 2 mushy peas and got inside the bag only one !!! First time here - would never order again! Absolutely disapointed !

Great chips, lovely fish nice curry sauce but in my opinion the mushy peas on this Saturday 29th April 2023 were what I would describe as wishy washy and a pale watery colour. Good fish unfortunately let down by bad chips - tasted like pub chips rather than chippy chips. Not unpleasant, just not what I would have expected. Mushy peas also quite unusual.
