Chish N Fips in Conwy

We had been to Llandudno for the day (25th April 2024) and fancied some fish and chips. Having looked at the reviews on trip advisor, we decided to give Chish N Fips a try. Although the staff were very friendly and efficient, we were very disappointed with the fish (see attached photos). The batter was stuck to the paper and it had a layer of uncooked batter on the inside (thick in some areas). Needless to say, we just picked the fish out and ate the chips (which were fine) and binned the batter. I would suggest it just needed frying for longer with less batter mix. Apologies for the comment but it wasn't what we were expecting having read previous reviews.

Staying locally and gave it a try. Our fish,chips and curry was lovely. We will certainly go again if we stay in this area.

Always my go to chip shop. So disappointing today. The fish batter was stuck to the paper that it was wrapped in. Not crispy, probably needed to be cooked a bit longer, and honestly not nice, no taste at all. Chips were cold. Most of it went in the recycling bin. So disappointing as not cheap. Last time we went it was ok. I wont be returning, such a disappointing experience. On the plus side the staff are lovely

Incredible! Not greasy or soggy, perfectly crisp. The mushy peas are heavenly. Perfect to enjoy on the beach. Curry sauce and gravy great too.

Visiting Llandudno from S Wales, and decided to trust the reviews on TripAdvisor and on the Welsh news websites and try out Chish n Fips Not disappointed! Great little family business, great friendly service and great food. Chips were really tasty hot (and even better cold once thanks to the bitter promenade wind cooling them). Fish was really fresh. Batter tasty. We were a group of 5 so also tried a good selection of the topping of curry, gravy, mushy peas and cheesy chips - all really tasty. Worth every step of the walk down the promenade and some of the best F&C we’ve had in Wales.

All we had was a portion of chips & curry sauce. I've used most fish & chip shops in the Llandudno & surrounding area and I have to say that the chips at Chish N Fips are by far the best I've had.

Really efficient staff and fantastic food well worth the distance from the main seafront. I had haddock and chips and mushy peas. Homemade mushy peas, perfect batter and crispy chips. Lovely

Perfect spot for a tasty takeaway before going to see a show. Friendly and chatty staff, great range on the menu and really tasty food. Fish cooked to perfection. We are in the area every couple of months so this will be a pre show favourite.

Very disappointed, used to be much better but seems to have gone downhill ! £23 for two fish, one peas and chips for three people. Only live 5 minutes away but chips were only just warm and fish not hot and certainly not crispy, even before warming in microwave which gave a soggy taste, very expensive we thought and most of the fish was put in the bin along with a lot of the chips ! Will try somewhere else in future !

Great food. Cooked to order so piping hot, lovely batter on the fish and chips cooked to perfection. Nice staff looking to have a friendly chat with. Only negative, sat nav postcode didn't take us to the chippy so had to ask a local the way. Highly recommend..PVFC v MTFC

Sorry to say as a local customer, fish and chips I purchased last were well below the usual standard of this establishment. £19.40 for 2 fish, 1 bag chips and 1 mushy peas!

Amazing Fish and Chips!! The most delicious fish and perfectly cooked chips in north Wales. Peas and curry sauce also outstanding and portions were extremely generous. Will certainly be visiting each time we’re in the area.

We Only eat Fish and chips when we are at the seaside.As it had been 2 years since having a chippy we wanted the best. so googled best fish and chips in Llandudno and this little gem came up. As we were on bikes it was nothing for us to bike and find it. OMG it was so worth it .Chips were not greasy and cod was beautifully cooked..And well done very organized due to covid.

15 minute walk from the pier. Lovely stroll along the promenade. The shop is just off the main road. Gorgeous cod in a light bubbly batter with crispy chips and‘proper’ mushy peas. Very generous portions. I couldn’t finish my regular. I would definitely go again.

Stopped here few minutes b4 it shut. Not expectung much because it was time to shut. Food was fantastic freshly cooked cod however no large left so had to have the regular. .. boy am i glad. This was my favourite chippy to go to even though i couldnt go often i loved their fish as the batter was light thin and crispy but i went the other day and got my usual fish chips and mushy peas only to find when i got home that the fish batter was not edible!! it was thick soggy and rubbery and absolutely awful!! Im so disappointed they have changed their way of cooking the fish so much so i wont be going back which is sad because it was the best chippy in Llandudno! Feel like i wasted my money this time as i threw most of it away.

Have never had a take away fish and chips from here before, certainly will be back, beautifully cooked, great value for money and such happy friendly welcome. Can only strongly recommend . the Cod was superb and the batter well fantastic, chips crisp and tasty. this gem of a business is hidden away in Craig y don and deserves all the praise.
