Greenfield Road Chippy in Conwy

Years ago this chippy was amazing not been for years as it is always shut when we want a chippy now different work schedule ect. 2 Battered sausages had no batter and the chips were really awful. We have never had left overs from a chippy. None of us likes. So disappointed staff are and always were lovely but food no where near as good as it was. Sorry I won't be returning.

Had a fish and chips, kids fish and chips and 2 drinks, all for £17. Food was brilliant, one of the best suppers I've had. Highly recommended.

This is the worst fish and chips I’ve had. Soggy oily chips, tasteless dry fish, overpriced. Staff were lovely but the food is awful.

Never had a bad chippy from here. Best in the bay Edit; afraid to say this place is sadly slipping. Tasteless and soggy the last few times. Going to find another after giving chances incase of off day.

I can honestly say this was the nicest fish, chips & peas I've ever had. Was delicious. Fresh & hot. Fish wasn't greasy at all and the fish was bright white . Very tasty and bright green peas . Would definitely recommend and will 100% visit this chippy again when we are here again

Had a really pleasant lunch today. And the price was a surprise for a seaside town. 2 x fish and chips £15 fed a family of 4 with soft drink £36. Bit cramped inside but bet it's great in summer.

4 of us called for food and ate at a table outside. I had a chip butty and the chips were fantastic. The down side is they don't open all day...a couple of hours dinner time and a couple of hours tea time. Would I visit again...YES

Soggy chips and soggier fish. Chips were unsalted and our order of gravy was forgotten. Wouldn’t recommend.

We’ve been going to this Chip Shop for several years. It is our favourite in the area. We called on Friday and we’re really disappointed. The chips were OK but the fish was dry and covered in greasy thick batter. Far too much fat on it. Has the Cafe changed hands. Not too keen on going again now.

I've been coming here on and off for years. Went in recently, it's always been the best! The last few times the fish has been very small, chips tasteless and crazy prices, absolutely not worth the rise in price! Definitely not going again.

Called for fish and chips and whilst most customers being served by the older lady seemed to get a decent portion, I was served by the young girl and although I had paid for an adult portion, it was more like a child's portion that she served me. Chips were a mix of hot and not so hot and the small fish was greasy. Now I remember why I haven't been for such a long time.

It was open but had to wait for everything cooking ,I know at least it's freshly cooked but sometimes you have not got time to wait .

Haven't been here for a while, forgot how good it was, excellent food, won't be long before we pop in again, lovely food, lovely staff

Bit more expensive than most, but the food was soo good. The service was quick and they were all really polite in there. Would definitely go back again.

Went to this chippy yesterday and had fish,chips and peas and all im going to say is never again

Has the business recently changed hands ? Been buying chip related meals from here since the 1980s and have always been excellent, even when changing from Jaaps and again changing around 2011. Visited this evening and found the Fish & Chips to be way below the usual high standard. The chips were very pale,small and extremely hard. The fish batter seemed a lot “heavier” not the usual light & crisp. This visit was on a Friday teatime around 17:00, what I would have though a peak so everything should be fresh.

Rude young lady serving needs some customer facing training. Phone orders are a waste of time- dint bother!!!

The only chip shop I’ve found in the whole of conwy county that can batter a sausage! The food in this place is top notch, the curry sauce is lovely. The staff are also very lovely.

Called in last night after 6pm without knowing they where closing, made fresh chips and battered sausage for us, polite and friendly….. and the food excellent, thanks

I have been going here for years, even before the current owners took over the standard is high. The fish is fresh cooked this will mean a delay but worth the wait. The journey from where l live is worth the trip.

The Greenfield Road Chippy in Colwyn Bay not only serves great fish and chips, but the portions are generous too. A real treat and highly recommended.

Popped in for an impromptu fish and chip stop after a trip to the beach. The place was busy but the friendly greeting stood out, the staff were all buzzing and happy. We ordered two cod and chips with gravy and weren't dissapointed. Cooked superbly, crumbly batter and fresh white fish inside, the chips were thick cut and not greasy and best of all the gravy was thick and tasted brilliant. Well done in a place full of chippy yours stood out.

This was our second visit to this fish & chip shop , we had forgot where we had found this place so we drove around for a while until we found it ! The fish and chips were lovely the first time round although the staff were not that welcoming but I put this down to caution as we had just come out of lock down . Today we had a ride out from Llangollen .... As I was placing my order for fish & chips a lady came in and politely asked how long her order would be as she had nipped in a shop while she had been waiting , she rudely responded ‘it’s not my fault you went to the Shop ‘! I proceeded to order and paid then decided I would have an extra fish ... The young girl on the till could have killed me with just her look ... And how dare I even ask for a receipt ! My partner waited outside for our food order as I was so annoyed by there attitudes. When he came back with our food he told me that another customer had enquired on the length of her order and was told that it was made up fresh and it’s only been cooking 5 mins. The star rating is given to the food only ... Even if I had given it full marks I would not ever return ! Unacceptable attitudes.

We are regular visitors here. Usually the fish and chips are outstanding. Sadly, not today chips were really poor, tasteless almost. Fish was just OK.

Best chippy in Colwyn Bay ,if not on the North Wales Coast. Staff friendly and the fish +chips wonderful. Not greasy at all,perfectly cooked.

fish and chips shop is my favorite place and i want to work there as a chef my grandad used to be a fish chef when he was young and i want to do it for him but i want my grandad to be proud of me doing it and i want this chippy shop to be open on every saturdays and i want to shut it for every sundays

Never a disappointment from here. All staff are always so friendly, especially Emma, who always happy, smiling and ready for a chat. The food is the best in Colwyn Bay, we won't get it from anywhere else if we can help it!

Absolutely love this place, polite staff, friendly, fab food and great prices. Always make you welcome and as a local Emma always remembers my sons name which he loves. All staff are ace but my son Victor's fave is Emma 5*****

I go here fairly often, went back after lock down, Sue was lovey as usual, but Emma, sorry, you were bad tempered and unsmiling, and a little bit rude. We are your customers, and I'd hope for at least a smile. Not in a rush to go back. You let the team down.

Every time im working in Colwyn Bay i call in to this chippy. The best cheeseburger in North Wales. The best price, the bread is always fresh, and the burger is always amazing! I have never ever felt let down by this chippy and i have been coming here for years now.

Called in at this great chippy with my Son for our lunch on a Monday. Greeted by the friendly staff. We live in Wrexham. So not local to the area. But we were on our way home after an overnight stay in Llandudno and decided to call at the chippy as we remembered how lovely the food was when we stayed in Colwyn Bay last summer.We decided to eat inside. The meals that we had were just as good as last year. Great value for money. Freshly cooked whilst we waited. Piping hot.Give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

This chippy for some reason closes at 6pm, 6 days a week quite bezzar really,even though most people go to a chippy after 6pm

Called in at the Chippy on a Saturday just after midday with my Son for a bite to eat. There’s only two tables inside. One was taken. But we managed to get the other.We were greeted by the very friendly staff working behind the counter. The smell of the fish and chips was delicious!I had a set meal which consisted of fish, chips, mushy peas and a buttered bap. Bargain price of £6.50. My Son had another set meal of jumbo sausage, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Bargain price of £4.10.The food was freshly cooked whilst we waited at our table. The food was served to us in polystyrene trays with plastic forks.We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I can honestly say that the fish and chips that I had was the tastiest I have eaten in a very long time! We live about an hour away from Colwyn Bay. But I would drive here again just to visit this excellent chippy!Highly recommended...

This chippy is fantastic. All fish is prepared freshly , so a few minutes wait means your food is pipping hot. Limited opening hours due to the need to prepare on order. For a more formal meal try Frydays in Penrhyn Bay same family owners I think...no top fryers.

I always called here on my way from Holyhead to Chester and really looked forward to it. However the last time the fish was completely soaked in grease and the chip soggy and tasteless. We were extremely disappointed and afraid it has ruled out a return

This is the nicest fish and chips i have ever shoved in my mouth and the prices are extremely cheap ! This chip shop should be awarded. I would recommend this shop to anyone. It is better than any other chip shop in the area !

On our way from Birmingham to Holyhead we stopped in colwyn bay for something to eat and decided to have fish and chips here without doubt the best fish I have ever eaten the girls behind the counter were very friendly and chatty and funny will definitely visit this place again

My wife and I go quite often when in Colwyn Bay.The staff are a real pleasure and always have a little chat and laugh The Chips and fish etc is always cooked fresh. The standard is exceptional, its fish and chips like it used to be. On a sunny day its a treat to sit at the little tables outside the shop and watch the world go by.If I owned a chippy this is just how I would present my shop. A top fish and chip shop. Fish, Chips a couple of slices of bread and butter, now that's fine dining.

Visited for lunch one day whilst in the area. £10 for 2 very large portions of fish and chips. There is a jnior version (smaller pirtiob) for £3.50. The food was cooked to order and consequently was nice and hot. The fish batter was nice and crispy and the chips were not greasy. There is limited seating inside and outside and it was vety busy when we were there. The two ladies working there were very organised and worked hard.

There are alot of chippys in Colwyn Bay. Having tried them all at some point have to say that this is up there with the best.

Decent chips, nice friendly service. Need to check opening times as it seemed to be an early close time when we went but nothing to moan about where the food is concerned

Really fancied some chips and stumbled on this hidden gem - great friendly staff, quick service and the biggest portion of chips I've ever had in my life, deffo recommend - prices are very reasonable e.g. fish, chips, peas and bap £5.90! 2 fish and chips £10! You cannot grumble at that

First class service and cuisine in the field of fish and chip shops in the town . No other establishment can match or get near there style of frying in the area till you get as far as penrhyn bay when there other shop takes over ( Fridays) .

I’ve eaten here a fair few times and that in itself is a fair & positive note to start with.

We visited this chip shop whilst enjoying a short break in the area. The food was tasty and hot, the portions excellent at a good price. Friendly counter staff too - what more could you want?

Been few times and was always excellent but last Saturday the fish and the chips were both soggy. Come on you know you can do better.

They had no cod so I had to have Haddock which was very thin in greasy batter! The chips were bits of chips and few complete ones and those I had were full of eyes so I did not eat them. I would not go back as I was looking forward to traditional fish and chips and was disappointed!

Usually the fish and chips here is excelllent, lately the chips are tasteless, and not to the usual standard. Staff are lovely, just wish the woman Emma would stop her awful show off laugh..

I usually don’t have lunch on Saturdays but as I was walking past I just fancied Fish and Chips ! So I had some. Both the fish and chips were excellent and reasonably priced. A great find for me.

Staff are friendly, cheerful and welcoming; good centre of town chippy. Good crisp batter on my fish and lovely chips. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his sausages; two sizes which is useful if you don't have an overlarge appetite. Child's portion of fish and chips was more than enough; generous portions. When the weather is warmer there are tables outside which is fun (we take the dog!)

We'd parked our car on Greenfield Road having been to the shopping centre, and were just about to drive to the Chinese takeaway when the smell of fish and chips enticed us in. The shop was about to close but they still served us and we waited while they freshly cooked our food. Yum yum.

You should never go to the seaside and not have "fish & chips" and this is the place to have them, good local chip-shop and a decent price, taste and welcome after a good play on the beach.

Nos detuvimos en el camino de vuelta de un día decepcionante en Rhyl. Nuestra visita a pescado y patatas fritas sin duda Greenfield road salvó el día. Llegamos a las 4:00 p.m. para un almuerzo muy tarde. Pedimos 4 pescado y patatas fritas, tres guisantes blandos y una porción de cigalas. Luego nos sentamos afuera mientras estaba nuestra comida recién cocinada. Nos llamaron cuando estaba listo y podíamos hacer nuestra propia sal vinagre, que me gusta un montón de lugares como hacerlo para usted! Luego nos sentamos a comer en sus mesas, que es un detalle precioso. El pescado estaba muy bien cocinados con pasta encantador fresco y las patatas fritas no grasienta donde! Mi parte favorita de pescado y patatas fritas y guisantes blandos es no nos decepcionó!

There are many good chippys in the area, but Greenfield Road Chippy is the best in our opinion. Fish cooked to order is yummy and portions are generous.

Excelente restaurante de pescado y patatas fritas, muy limpio, el servicio muy bueno, un poco pequeña pero el servicio es muy amable y muy servicial.
