Went here as a group of 6 4 adults and 2 children - awesome meal in a relaxed setting - good value for money

Visited a few weeks ago with may mum and ate in. Was served refried dark brown chips and almost cold cod. When we complained half way through we were told that we can have this and get it on the house as compensation next time. When we visited next time, the guy at the counter completely denied it and said he doesn't know or can't remember. What a shame that the once fresh and traditional fish n' chips is treating customers like this now. If you can't honour your words, you lose trust and more importantly respect.

Well after our last visit and chips being very under cooked we were assured this was a one off and to be honest although chips were still a little under cooked this visit what really resurrected was the customer care!! 1 customer was left short changed while she the assistant used the toilet and only remembered when she brought customer the food. Wrong order was delivered to another table, there was only 3 tables of customers so really shouldn't have been a issue but however the female assistant was able to sit down and eat 2 jumbo sausages with what looked like Well cooked chips ( ones I would have loved to be served) . Please remember customer first and this was before 13.00 on a Saturday so no long shifts to be blamed.

Mark was friendly and helpful and took us through a few fan favourite options on their menu. We ordered the traditional fish and chips, the food looked great and was spot on. The seating area was clean, and the food arrived on time. Will definitely be going back there again. My daughter also loved it.

The tuck in has been a local fish and chip shop in high wycombe for many years i use to go in regular but the quality of food is not the same they have changed sausages which taste very vaule like now chips slightly under cook need to be cooked a bit longer as some are hard the curry sauce ok it is i think wins hands down for the best in town but they need to not.make it.and microwave so gets a skin and looks dry on top I do think it is a bit pricey for some items and prices should be looked at and offer more deals It is clean and presentable but i do notice some lack of handwashing when touching fish and the sausages and should use different batter due to food allergies it says cooked separately but has taste and my father was ill as it had taste ect and he is allergic ti fish so he doesn't eat sausage now only pies which can be pricey and dry sometimes

Lovely warm welcome, The Shop/restaurant was every clean and tidy. Menu was available on request. I really liked the menu it wasn't crammed with lots of choices just enough all dishes were very good value for money, I found it hard to chose. Lovely tasting chips (not greasy) the beef and onion pie was also very tasty too. service was excellent, disable facilities avaliable. I would definetly go back there again

Worst service ever in this place. Girl serving was so rude, when my order was ready she just banged it down on the table having served other customers who ordered after me. A lady sitting nearby made a comment about how rude she was. I had to go up to counter and ask for sauces and coffee I had ordered with the meal. At one point she threw a sauce pack over the counter on to the floor where someone could have slipped on it . I and the other lady sitting nearby said we will never go in there again. In need of new staff with manners..

Popped in as I had some time to kill in town and was hungry - the service was great and staff really friendly, greeting and saying goodbye and thank you to every customer. The food came quickly and I couldn’t fault the quality of it. The only let-down was that I ordered a can of Coke and it came with a plastic straw in a polythene wrapper, which I didn’t request and seemed excessive now we’re all trying not to use single-use plastics. I left it in it’s wrapper on the table and hope it was reused, but don’t really see why someone drinking from a can would need a straw anyway!

Decor and atmosphere is not the best, but the food is excellent, best fish and chips I have had in years. Well priced and polite service, great quick meal for the family. Cannot fault the cod and chips, mushy peas were also good. Portions were and good size and my kids enjoyed the kids meal.

Very welcomng had fish and chips which was out of the world till the point left my plate clean which i do not normally do. Staff was so welcoming and served well could not fault them. Will be going back wirh my family.

First class food at the Tuck In, and excellent service from friendly staff. I highly recommend the scampi & chips. The scampi here is the best I’ve ever tasted - succulent inside and crisp outside and delicious with Tartare Sauce!

Work a few doors away from here, so get the satisfaction of great fish and chips most days :). Food is always cooked to high standards and the staff are always nice and friendly. Oh they also serve lilt!! :)

Was given chips that were cold and hard (clearly sat there for a while), fish was clearly frozen and still had skin on, tasted very stale. Very little care and effort put into making it. Not good.

7pm on Thursday, shop empty. I asked for sausage and chips - the girl took my money whilst chatting to her friend and served the man behind me. I thought they were maybe waiting for something to cook ... no. After chatting for three or four minutes they then put my food together and carried on chatting.

We just got a takeaway from the tuck Inn.

You won’t get better fish and chips at these prices in the South. There is a great community feel inside.

Traveled to High Wycombe with two friends for an endurance event (the Oxon 40). The food was great and the service was fast, but two things annoyed us.

Been here a few times, normally on a Saturday lunchtime whilst in town shopping. Fantastic food, good portions and good prices. You can sit inside which is why I like it. Highly recommended

Es un gran restaurante en el centro de High Wycombe. Ambiente informal, servicio rápido y precios asequibles. La comida es muy fresca y muy bien preparadas. El pescado tiene mejor luz vivificante a diferencia de muchos otros restaurantes donde el bateador puede ser como un traje de armadura. Felicitaciones al chef!

My husband and I have been here a few times now and the quality of the food is brilliant, never changes. I'm really fussy about the batter on my fish i.e. hate batter that is yellow and not cooked underneath or thick, but here it's nice and thin and crispy.....perfect! As good as Harry Ramsdon's at half the price. So a big thank you to all the staff who are so polite and helpfull.

I have visited with family a few times and the food served here is consistently excellent. All orders are cooked fresh and the quality of the fish is first class. The lighting is a bit bright but it's not a problem because the food is so good.

Quick fish and chip supper before Cineworld. Read reviews and can confirm the place lives up to the number of positive reviews others have left. We had delicious, freshly cooked scampi and cod. Generous portions, served with a smile. Clean and tidy restaurant. We will be back.

What a great place this is! Clean, nice photos on the wall, well looked after. Excellent fish and chips and generous children's portions. Great deal for pensioners. Fish chips and hot drink for two only £11.00 . Eat in and no washing up ! Now there's a treat. Wonderful crispy batter on our fish, crispy chips just like mum used to make, and a freshly made cuppa all served with a smile !

As has been said, the food is super-tasty. The place is spotlessly clean. The waiting staff and friendly. I couldn't fault it and will definitely be going back!

Really friendly staff, spotless premises, excellent value for money (cod, haddock and chips was £10.40!), rock was on the menu too. Have eaten here a few times now and it's always great. Golden chips cooked to perfection and the fish battered and cooked while you wait so the dinner was totally fresh. Compares to some of the best F&C places in London (that are a lot more expensive). I've been to Tuck In a few times and they never disappoint.The staff always welcome you with a warm smile and they don't mind when i ring them up before i leave asking them to cook my chips a little longer as i prefer them to be really brown. The portions are huge and always cooked to perfection.They always do their best to help,and on a more personal note which is just as important to me, my cat loves the cod :O)

Having researched on Trip Advisor we tried the Tuck In after a visit to the hospital. Easy parking outside and very tasty fish and chips served by a very friendly girl who obviously loves her job. Take away or eat in the food was not swimming in oil as you sometimes get and was freshly cooked - not sitting in the warming cabinet for ages. Recommended.

I was stopping in the near by Premier inn by myself and I didn't fancy going to the site restaurant or any of the locals I fancied something simple and what better than the chippy? Just a very short walk from the hotel and on the main road this place is easy to find.You can either dine in or do what I did and take out. I didn't have anything fancy just so had sausage and chips.The chips while not the best I have had (need to go to Yorkshire for that where chips are cooked in beef dripping), they weren't too bad. Compared to many in the Midlands this chippy where the average chippy is just muck.These chips were clean, with not old engine oil, the potatoes were the right variety and not a greasy feel on the palette. While I didn't have the fish from what I could see from the hot shelf and what was being served to other customers the batter did look the right golden batter. The server behind the counter was also very friendly.If your in the area and just want a cheap meal this might be the place to go.

Mark was brilliant at helping to provide a large order for our charity quiz night back in April. The order was spot on (60 people in total), the food was delicious and everything was easy to arrange. And to top it all off the food was delivered on time and hot. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

We were traveling through town and staying a couple of nights in High Wycombe and we were craving fish & chips. Delighted to find Tuck In and we had hot fresh cod cooked just for us. Vicky was wonderful waiting on us with the tea the way we liked it and bringing the food promptly. She is very friendly and made us feel most welcome! Great dinner! Highly recommend the mushy peas too.

my wife and i allways go to tuckin for a treat every friday while shoping in wycombe, we both love it because the food is great you have a wide choice to choose from, and the price is very good whatever you eat,plus you get a nice big meal too, once youve eaton you dont want anything els to eat for a good couple of hours. but what we rearly enjoy is you can eat in or take away. give it a try, you will love it.

We went here for a meal and i must say the place was v clean and attentive even undoing the tarter sauce packets for me. But where as i had lovely fish and chips my wife was v limited to either a veggie spring roll or a veggie burger. would be good to see things like a cheese and onion pasty or a cheese fry it as we wont go back till that side improves shame as everything else was excellent

Tried this out whilst staying in High Wycombe in the Travelodge as it's just around the corner, we were glad we did because the fish and chips were great. We sat in to eat. There was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. All the staff were friendly. The place was spotlessly clean.

The young lady that served us was really polite and very approachable and to be honest she actually couldn't do enough for us. I was in a hurry and needed something quick on a Friday. Headed to Wycombe with a plan for the chip shop by the bus station. Instead we tried Tuck In. Wow.The 20 something's were more then pleasant enough behind the counter. The fish was cooked fresh as were the chips. Large cod and I was promised that the large chips was enough for two. Yes. Big fat chips, hot as can be, and big thick pieces of cod in light batter. Drained well so it wasn't dripping in oil. Great curry sauce in a mulligatawny style not the pale stuff. We got it all home although eating in is an option. The fish looks normal size but is really filling as it was thick and flavourful, I admit this may not happen every time.Normal price chip shop but WAY over normal quality. Heading back soon, that is the best fish I have had in three years by a long way and even then, that was a fishmongers at the seaside.

Best fish and chip shop in High Wycombe, oh hang on its the only Fish and Chip shop in High Wycombe Town centre! Having said that Tuck in is a really good value chip shop. I eat there today and their chips are some of the best I have tasted for some time, proper crispy on the outside, fluffy white centre with proper potato flavour. Worth visiting just for those. Not the most luxurious restaurant but good value and clean. Cuppa tea for £2 is a bonus

I've been there twice since it opened, on both occasions the chips were mainly small bits, on the first occasion I had cod, there was more batter than fish, on the second occasion I had Pie, there was little choice of pies, it seemed there was only one of each available.I found the service very slow even though it is nearly always empty. I've even seen someone bring their own food in.!! Since Smiths and Duces disappeared there hasn't been a decent fish and chip shop in the town.For such a new shop I would have expected more than a 1 on scores on the doors, even the market traders score higher !

Had a quick lunch here, food hot, plenty of it and good value. Service was friendly and the cafe area very clean. Who can complain when a mug of tea only costs £1 ?
