With all the choices of restaurants and takeaways nowadays, the only pizza choice we don’t argue with is the quality and taste of the half and half pizza, Sometimes they deliver late or rarely the wrong toppings but 9 out of 10 for flavours

South shields must be experiencing something akin to the Irish potato famine. Ordered a tray of kebab meat and chips and didn't expect to be going on an expedition in order to locate the chips. I counted around 5 actual potato filled chips with the remaining 15 being the discarded chip ends which people usually avoid in case of breaking a tooth. The kebab was actually quite tasty but it would be nice to receive more than 1 baby potatoes worth of chips.

We’ve used the Prince Edward branch for years and is our favourite venue for our pizza. Tonight we fancied fish and chips with mushy peas between us. Service was very slow, chips were left out warming as opposed to taking them out when the fish was actually ready. Despite that the meal was tasty, fish white and well cooked, chunkier chips which we like.

Bit of context we got a wrap & a cheese pizza.. Wey first off staff were more bothered about their phones and moaning about who was out on the drink than customer care. Secondly the pizza was done first & put in heater. Wrap then came out the toaster & got put on the side. After 20 mins one of the staff went wheres the order and the lanky one looks like lurch from the Adam’s family gans its there has been for ages. She then hands us the pizza and says shes on doing your wrap now which sat on the side for around 10 mins now… after another 10 mins she looked at me as if to say wow your still here and went to investigate where the wrap was. To then hear her say to the aforementioned lurch its gone cold i will have to put it back in the toaster to warm it up and lurch then shrug his shoulders just shows the attitude towards its customers. Now imagine after nearly 45 waiting about. We finally get the “food”… gets away & stops to eat what i can only describe as grease with cheese on for the pizza. And thats the first lot of crispy kebab meat I’ve ever had. While this absolute s**t show was going on there was two customers come in to place orders one was a little girl who stood there 15mins before she left and another full grown bloke who was there 10mins before he just walked out as well. The best part of that meal was the cans of Fanta we got along with it… would have given two stars if they didn’t take so long and the Fanta was still cold. If you want decent scran with good customer service do not go here. Take your hard earned cash and gan elsewhere you might actually be able to eat your food and not feel sick afterwards. Vile

Prince Edward Road is really poor! Absolutely disgusting ordered 2 fish and a large chips, got home the chips were like they were from yesterday and re-heated, chips were tasteless and oily, some looked like they had been stuck in the fryer since Christmas. The fish was disgusting we thought it was a thick fish but it was clumps of half cooked batter, £17 down the pan couldn’t eat them avoid at all costs.

Order at 19-20 still waiting at 21- 55 it came absolutely shocking and phoned up twice no apology certainly won't be back

Picked up a pizza and two wraps to take home. Got home and what was supposed to be a double pepperoni turned out to be a half diner and half tikka chicken! Whereas mistakes are made, what made it a poor experience was the pizza was pretty poor to eat. Had much better from here.

After waiting for server to finish personal phone call I got to order, wasn't asked if wanted any salt and vinegar, also ordered a curry sauce which top wasn't even put on properly so just ended up with a plastic bag of curry sauce so I was left with dry chips. Plus she had no manners what so ever and just showed no interest in customer service

Glad I didn't pay for delivery too next time I'll buy a tub of garlic sauce for the burger which was dry to make sure I actually get garlic on my burger as well as trying to let me go without the 3rd jumbo sausage I'd ordered and paid for some of the staff are mint and food was quick

Last time I ordered from this takeaway, I asked for 2 lots of fish & chips. When I got home there was no fish included! Yesterday I thought I’d give them another try, order chip butty with cheese patty, again when I got home there was no cheese patty! The ladies serving were too busy chatting amongst themselves to pay proper attention. Chips weren’t particularly nice either. Won’t be going back.

Excellent massive fish. The lady who served me on Sunday night was a real character and extremely cheerful. Great fish and chip shop.

We ordered on line and specifically said no onions as I have an allergy to them. Put the food in the bin as the rest of the family had already eaten. Called up and to get a refund they needed to pick up said item but already in the bin. Please read the special requests it’s there for a reason! Carry out ruined.

Half pepperoni and half hot shot with lovely chips. Delivery was very quick, which has been a problem in the past. Nice to go back too after a while.

We rang in for our order before 9pm as we’d been looking forward to a lovely pizza for a treat. We were told 90 mins, 120 mins later, still no show, so we rang back and it was ‘out with the driver’! This couldn’t be the case as it was hot when it eventually arrived. We’d asked for salt and vinegar, none supplied. Yes the pizza was lovely, but why say 90 mins if it’s not going to be 90. This time the standing joke in the family wasn’t funny.

……. We didn’t have to wait an age for the delivery! Over the years it’s been a standing house joke how long the delivery from the very popular, Gills in Prince Edward Rd, but this time it was really quick! We’d had a really poor pizza from another takeaway recently so was really looking forward to the great tasting and looking pizza. We weren’t disappointed! Lovely

Went for fishcake and chips and the chips were definately from the day before and the fishcake looked like it had been used as a frizby at the park up the road..horrific experience wont be back

Food always good and plenty of it. sometimes have to wait for fish but lovely and fresh so very much worth it. Usually enough in one portion of fish and chips for 2 people

The fish and chips are fresh, good and tasty. They also do good pizzas in a relatively quick time and cracking kebabs.

Not what you would call 'award winning', but what you would expect from a good local 'chippie'. No problem if you ask for freshly cooked fish, as it always is. Portions are fairly substantial and price is standard. Enjoyable take out food.

Delicious chips and a large portion. The garlic Kiev pizza is the bomb. Really loaded and they use the garlic butter. A 12" does two large men. And it's Delcious and a quality pizza. Better then pizza hut, dominos or BBQ king on kings street.
