Fish & Chips Brighton Pier in Brighton and Hove

The restaurant is not recommended. The prices are overpriced, and the service leaves much to be desired – the staff is unfriendly and unaccommodating. Additionally, the food is of poor quality. The fish and chips served had little resemblance to the traditional English dish and were barely edible. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

We were very disappointed with the cod, chips and peas we received from the take away. The chips did not look fresh at all and the small piece of cod was very greasy. Very poor value for money costing £28 for cod, chips and peas x2. Save your money and look elsewhere, we deffo will not be going back.

Very nice meal. A lot of food for 12£. Maybe a bit too much batter and the fries were a bit too oily but apart from that it was amazing. One of the best I’ve eaten. And nice location

My wife and myself bought cod and chips yesterday and I must say it was the worse peice of battered cod we have ever been served , the batter was thick and very soft plus uncooked inside , the chips were terrible as in old and the potatoes prior to cutting must of been full off eyes and in parts rotten but it seems we're perfectly fine to serve the paying customers. Both portions were binned due to being inedible.

The fish was quite good, a lot of breading, the fries were dry, you couldn't eat them, they look like wood, like jess, they smell like plastic, the portions are small considering the price.

I was wavering on 3 or 4 stars but went with 4 in the end because of the location. The fish and chips are a tad pricey but the portion sizes are very generous. The chips are nothing special but the fish really good. If you're not feeling too hungry then the kids portion could well be enough and saves you £6. We've been here many times and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Pretty good fish and chips, huge portion but very oily! £12 for one serving, 50p for sauces. Location is lovely with a (temporarily obstructed) view of the pier, nice music and seating.

Absolutely Disgusting AVOID AVOID AVOID! The staff wipe their nose on their gloves and sleeves and continue to server your food. They bring in staff from the cake shop on the pier as they have no staff, absolutely disgusting with the cross contamination. The chips are tasteless, soggy like they had been sitting there for days. All their fish and dumped in a poorly cleaned storing oven for days probably. Not even an ounce of fish in my portion or anybody else in my family. I have no idea how there are 20+ people queuing up for this place when the food is genuinely disgusting. My 4 year old brother got food poisoning later in the day and large rashes from the chicken nuggets + chips, and to be honest I was expecting it. The chicken nuggets were more stale that he was struggling to bite into them. lets not even get into the price £80 for 3 portions of fish & chips and one portion of chicken nuggets and chips. Considering the service and food quality this is completely revolting, this price is way out of this universe. This is probably the best fish and chips shop in the city as everything else is equally as disgusting. DO NOT eat in Brighton, especially from this fish n chips shop if you don't want to fall dead the next day. AVOID, AVOID AVOID! Later on caught, the staff dating on the cake shop down the pier. No wonder the whole pier was deserted, nobody wants to see public kissing and loving shows in the middle of a bright sunny day. Not to mention the main road being closed because of a marathon caused huge delays. What type of city is this?? You have ambulance staff sitting there sunbathing on the side on the streets doing nothing and police dancing around what the hell? This city needs to be put in place because it was ridiculous Additional, major health and safety risks all around the pier, there are signs saving not to jump into the sea as it could be dangerous. however there are literally no guard rails on the side openly letting children fall into the sea and cause huge waves making a ridiculous mess, and the fish and chip shop staff literally openly go out in their same uniform, have a wash, moreover, keep wiping their snot all over their shirts and gloves and heading back to the shop using the same uniform, disgusting. This fish and shop chips shop needs to get a touch of health and safety. In London we have a policy all restaurants need to be checked, for some reason most of the restaurants in Brighton do not have this check? If the food checkers were to come down to Brighton I'm sure 99% of the restaurants would be shut down and completely off bounds. Do NOT VISIT.

Great fish and chips and a great view of Brighton Pier. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

£14.05 for fish and chip meal deal at the fish & chip bar at the end of the pier opposite Horatios. The fish batter had a weird taste and the chips were dry. Several hours on and I now have bad stomach cramps. Won't be going back there 🥺

Superb fish and chips, slow delivery however, thats a price worth paying for fresh cooked fish. Sat outside in a really pleasant decked area. Went for a 2nd visit but they were closed a whole hour earlier than stated on google

Paying for the location. Inedible hard cold chips and undercooked fish.

Who is to blame a mentally disabled employee or a supervisor/manager who lets you pay twice for one portion of fish and chips. Despite that the first person was not properly guided/trained in the job had the person with the responsibility no interest in the customer nor his employee. If stress levels go up for mentally disabled people because they have a situation that goes beyond their problem solving capabilities, then you have an incapable manager running the ship.

Absolutely delicious chips, the best in the city if you ask me! You will probably have to wait a little while due to how busy the pier is but the wait is totally worth it!

Nice service, delicious fish and chips. Lots of space to sit. In January there were no queues even though there was constant traffic.

The food was poor quality, chips was hot, oily and soggy. The fish batter was raw, decaying and unfit to be eaten. Personal hygiene left a lot to be desired.

My hands were frozen raw from the cold and my belly was craving for some crispy cod and tasty chips. This place didn't disappoint. Even though the seagulls in the sky were intimidating, the sizzling, hissing piping hot crispy cod and large chunky fries that I drizzled with slat and vinegar were an absolute orchestra to my tatsebuds. It played away on my tastebud in melody to the harsh winds of Brighton as I sat and ate my fish and chips. You could tell the chips were of great British expectations-crispy outside, and soft fluffy mash potatoe insides. The mam serving at the time wasn't too bad either. He attempted to be polite and efficient with service. Very calm atmosphere but beware of seagulls. Also I was quite dehydrated so I ordered a coke zero as well which was refreshing as watching Brighton's sunset over the sea, on an average day at the seaside.

Asked for chicken nuggets fish chips and battered sausage guy said 8 chicken nuggets came out with 4 then the battered sausage was tiny very poor for the money the fish was the one good part do not use if want a filling meal

Fish was as rubbish as the weather and service just as miserable. Wish I'd looked at the rating and saved myself the calories.

Cibo di qualità, porzioni molto abbondanti, pesce fresco e patatine fritte non congelate. Prezzi molto adeguati e servizio veramente rapido. L'unica pecca è l'assenza di posti a sedere per degustare le pietanze. È consigliabile andare a mangiare sulla spiaggia che si trova a due passi o trovare qualche panchina sul molo. Comunque consigliato.

Expensive and really far from delicious.

Waited a very long time as they forgot my order and was not worth it. The guy that took my order was so rude moaning because I asked for my drink when I ordered . This is the one at the entrance to the pier the one further on isn't as bad

2nd visit, Top quality fish and chips. Really busy restaurant and freshly cooked. Good customer care. it’s worth eat here would highly recommend.

Really good fish and chips. Cooked perfectly for the way I prefer. Nice fresh crunch on the outside and flakey moist on the inside. The portion size was more than adequate for lunch if not dinner. It really hit the spot quite nicely.

Disgusting outlet, untidy dirty and messy, portion size for a portion of chips was not even a handful x3 portions equal one whole portion and the price was just shy of 4 quid per portion. Never going there again and I would recommend popping over the road to Harry Ramsdens bigger portions for a little bit more. This place is a rip off avoid at all costs.

Wanted to try Brighton’s fish and chips by the sea side. This is the one that is opened before noon . Fish is fresh and we enjoyed every bite of it.

Haven't been to Brighton for over 10 years! I bought 2 portions of Fish & Chips. Fish was amazing. Best I've had in some time. Chips were perfect too. I forgot to grab us a drink each so ordered 2 fantas & was given them free of charge. Finished off a spontaneous Road Trip with my Daughter after a tough AND traumatic 2 years perfectly, before heading back home (near Heathrow!) Thank You to the chap with the Blue hair 😁

Poor, chips were ok but the sausages we had were so dense and must have been nuked from frozen that it was like eating cardboard

First time visitor: I ordered two (2 fish cakes and chips) which means 4 fish cakes and chips , they gave 2 cakes and said enjoy , when I asked they said 2 cakes enjoy. It was crowded( Brighton Pier) to confront and am starving with kids . I don’t recommend this place unless we don’t have option due to crowds

Had the cheesy chips with curry sauce. Honestly would give 6 stars if I could. Curry sauce had a lovely flavour, chips were cooked perfectly and had a generous serving of cheese. Friendly staff too!

Worst fish and chips I’ve had you expect going to Brighton to get a decent fish and chips avoid this place I found bones in my fish which put me off the chips were tasteless and the fish was undercooked as the batter was soggy inside disgusting . They have no clue at all waste of a nice looking place and staff with some poor quality food .

Sorry, but worst fish and chips I've had for a long time! Very expensive, overpriced for what you receive. Batter to fish ratio was favourable on the batter with almost half the chips you'd expect to get when ordering a large. No sides of pickles on the menu and the fish was dry (wondered if frozen). 16 pounds for the plate, not impressed. If it's your first time trying, please don't go! It will give the wrong impression! Was wondering why the only mention of anything fresh on the menu was, the freshly cut chips. Would of thought advertising the freshness of the fish would of been key! It's a shame! Tip for the owners. For the price you're charging, it should include a cup of tea, a slice of bread, fresh fish, a scrape of mushy peas on the side of the plate, with a double handful of chips. Dont forget a wedge of lemon. You are showcasing fish and chips to tourists, at least respect the tradition.

Food tasted alright but then suffered from food poisoning that evening and the next day.....

Terrible experience. Food before drinks, bar staff refuse to do anything that isn’t related to their section like simply replacing a fork that fell on the floor. Music too loud and they refused to turn it down saying they physically can’t (while shouting because we couldn’t physically hear them of course). Obviously some staff were an exception and are very nice. WILL NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE RETURN HERE, RECOMMEND OR SAY ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT IT.

This is for the takeaway fish and chips place right before the entrance of the pier (however I think it is the same chain as the one on the pier). It is average fast food fish and chips 🐠 🍟I understand the low review but this is not a restaurant, so it has to be evaluated more as a fast food. Overall decent mean. The meal option include, fish, chips, one side and one soft drink for 8.70. Be aware of the seagulls if you eat on the beach, they just want to eat your food so bad 😂

Very good food, and a good price too! Make sure you find a seat first as it can be hard, if not then always sit on the beach! Portion sizes were just right for the money and plenty of condiments if they're needed!

I only gave one star as you can't get any lower. In 5 decades this is easily the most revolting fish and chips I have had the misfortune to sample. I would say eat. But sample is more apt. The 'fish' was armour plated. It was over fried until it had the consistency of a steel joist.The chips tasted like fried carpet. If you are in Brighton and hungry do yourself a favour and starve.

One of the worse fish and chips I've ever had..After driving down from Luton and looking forward to fish and chips by the sea I couldn't of had one as bad as this..Lidl do far better fish and chips then these bunch of clowns.Total rip off.. Frozen fish straight into hot fat..Chips that seagulls wouldn't even eat..If I could give no stars you'd get them..Bad service and unfriendly..

Very rude staff never again I didn't eat my meal because of the bad attitude overpriced and there sweet potato wedges looked more like burnt pork chops🤔 When I asked where is the customer service I was told by assistant manager you don't pay for this! 🤷🏻‍♀️ SHOCKING!!!
