Great site. Usual hight standard.

Don't order collection!!! I purchased an item for 55 pound for collection to be cancelled less than an hour before I was to collect. (I payed extra to collect) Called customer services and was transferred to an endless call on the phone and nobody picked up after over 40 minutes. I went to reorder the item and (said in stock online) but clearly wasnt. It's unfair making people pay and have to wait 3-5 days for money back. Awful service and even worse customer support.

Often order kids a cheese burger but always Luke warm legally 74 degrees C McD 30-40 degrees. Plus 1st online breakfast order,2 sausage and egg McMuffin meals delivered. They take your money then cancel your order immediately after. Up to 15 days for a refund, Wife’s birthday treat ruined Thanks Mac I will pop in you won’t like it.

I wouldn’t bother with Asda click and collect. May be the worst supermarket for collection in the country. Sometimes you wait for 30-45 minutes without even being greeted. Never do it.

Lived nearby when this was opened in 87, and shopped there for years, no issues. Happened to be back in the area over the weekend and popped in, WOW, what a decline, not bothering again, is this Asdas new level.? Avoid tbh

The whole appearance is appalling they have made no attempt to maintain the perimeter planting all overgrown obstructing parts of the pavement causing more litter etc

It's an Asda. Parking ok for everyone. Toilets just inside the entrance to suit all. Large non food area.....house items,toys,garden stuff. Large food area too. Good choice. Self serve or you can use one of the couple of checkouts that may be open. Not too bad a place. Very chavvy though.....expect the pyjama brigade.

Grubby and unfriendly, some things are cheaper, but some are more expensive, don't be fooled by the bargains at the entrance. I compared my receipt with a same shop at tesco, and asda came out £5 more expensive... and when the staff are so unfriendly too, there's only one reason I go, the petrol is the cheapest.

There are many issues with this store. The store is very poorly stocked and depending when you go, you may find that they more often than not have run out of basics. Today there were no potatoes and I can't remember the last time they had carrots. There are only ever 3 tills open with long queues and the scan and go is often completely void of any scanners available. Staff fulfilling Internet orders leave their carts blocking isles and staff on the self checkout/scan and go tills are spread few and far between. You are often stood waiting for some time for age verification etc. I use this supermarket as it is the closest, buts I am considering going across town to somewhere with food on the shelves where I can get a complete shop.

I don’t really like this supermarket based on how rude the staff are. I don’t ever really write reviews…however I’m just fed up with the lack of awareness from the staff to be totally honest! It’s 17:15 Monday 8th of July and a staff member at checkouts was completely unaware of multiple customers waiting for assistance. To the point where another customer had to tap this member of staff on the shoulder TWICE to get his attention! Can I quickly mention the reason for the staff members complete ignorance to the requirements of his job (helping customers checkout their items, which can hardly ever be done without assistance these days) was due to him chit chatting with a friend (also an employee, leaving for the day). After this convo the employee walked off blissfully unaware of the situation. Props to the second employee for being aware and noticing customers waiting when he was off the clock. He stopped checking out his own items in order to serve the waiting customers. A big thank you to him, for going above and beyond! :) he is probably the only member of staff there who seems to care about the customer…please give this man a raise. Side note: this is not the first time this employee has been completely unaware of waiting customers (annoying my supermarket trips here are purely out of convenience) Long story short: this Asda has staff who are often rude and can never be bothered and it’s apparent to every customer that walks through the door. Tbh I wouldn’t return except for the fact that it’s on my way home from work. …if you can avoid you should!

DEADLY NETTING ON TOP OF ASDA SUPERSTORE UNIT 1 CROWHURST ROAD, OFF CARDEN AVENUE, BRIGHTON BN1 8AS: THERE IS A SLUMPED ADULT SEAGULL CAUGHT IN NETTING. SEAGULL NOW CONFIRMED DEAD. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME BIRDS HAVE SUFFERED A HORRIFIC AND PROLONGED DEATH DUE TO THE NETTING.

Terrible I don't know what happened up there but it's just Terrible shelfs empty trying to push you to get there left overs the only thing going for them is McDonald's and you can order it for delivery so never have to go back try m and s next door prices similar and 100% better quality

Tried buying a dress , scanned it multiple times , took it to till & they couldn't scan it either. Was disappointing

This big Asda store now has a McDonald’s fast food takeaway , so the local area is now littered . Asda scan and go easy unless you want to weigh your bananas no scales Always broken !😫 . Great staff always happy to help . Shame kids uniforms are never in stock for months on end . Been over charged a few times here , so check your receipt, no apology from customer services and could not refund to my credit card on my phone ! Come on team Could try harder . Update Dec 7th 2021 11am Tuesday No trolleys! Customer service said they have a shortage , it wasn’t busy . No scanners , the one there Not charged ! My sister and I.went to your asda shop in holingbury on the 2nd May I just want to say we could not fund what we wanted but a yound man called Paul done everything to help us he went out of he's way and was so polite praise where it due unfortunately we didn't get he's surname but if you did find out who it was he was a asset to your store

My first choice in grocery shopping

The customer service is a nightmare. I wouldn't call it customer service. The refund for overcharged items they promised never came. The hotline isn't able to deal with in store refunds and there is no information about the process of having to bring bank statements to prove items weren't refunded on the website or via the hotline. This made me wonder (1) how many people they overcharge every day on what they sign as reduced items and (2) how often they get away with not refunding items?

I am a disabled mum of 2 children school age I ordered my shopping during the week for it to come sat Eve delivery , yesterday I had a call from a man called Nile from this store 2& half hours before it was due saying they have had to cancel my order as they dnt have enough drivers so I said that’s not my problem iv paid for my shopping I would like my shopping I’m not the same as everyone else where I can just pop to the shops he said he would give me a full refund I said I wanted to complain but he said I can try as these orders have come from high up , so there was nothing I could do there’s me thinkin I would be able to shop elsewhere but didn’t realise they wnt be putting my money back for at least 3-5 days so I wasn’t able to have any shopping this is disgusting iv never had my shopping cancelled and offered absolutely nothing in replacement, I didn’t have anymore money so I’m have to wait for the refund before I can order elsewhere, can I add there was no apology at all , Asda took my money now I cnt do any shopping I will not be shopping there again Don’t shop here if you need the items as there’s no guarantee it will arrive

Great if you love seeing the prices go up every day. No cheaper than tesco who have far better quality food.

Went to this store today 22 march 24 with my friend and 1 year old parking in mother and baby was terrible but anyway we both did scan and shop I PAID by card my friend paid by cash I done mine in scan and shop because the que was terrible for us to both wait for the trolly self service so she took her shopping out and paid in basket self service she was struggling after I already paid so I pushed my trolly to her with my child in so I couldn’t leave it then she needed a quality check so I pushed for assistance and went out and waited the man working there seen what I done and said to my friend wait while gets security as I haven’t paid my friend called me over the man told me I needed the check but I already done the check in scan and shop paid n left I showed him my receipt he turned around and dealt with her no apology nothing just blanked don’t know if it was because were from the travelling Community and it was a bit of discrimination definitely not going there again

There has been a dramatic change in quantity of child and parent parking spaces. All the child and parent parking has now been replaced with rows and rows and rows of disabled parking. Parent and child parking is now pushed right round the corner with only 6 spaces - I’ve been stuck with a newborn and a 5 year old unable to park in a child space and parking in a normal space to then come back to find that I’m unable to get either of the children into the car due to not being enough room. Asda should provide more parent and child parking close to the shop and replace some of the disabled spaces with more parent and baby. It is dangerous and limiting to people with children. Disabled parking is vital but not at the detriment of parents of young children and babies actually being able to park and get the children in and out safely when alone.

Bought a of chocolate doughnuts. After taking a bite I realised they were out of date. Staff offered no apology or showed no concern. Need to be better!

No more going to spend my money in ASDA, started going cashless in many places in UK. I refuse it profound, cash is my choice of payment. I do not support any business refusing my money. Also my friends started to wake up too and stop going too.

Absolute waste of time doing a click and collect order here they never have the items and then you don't find out before you can cancel. Wasting a trip out and still needing to shop elsewhere

When paying with a German Mastercard, the message “PIN blocked” appears at the checkout. This has been happening to me again and again at Asda for years, e.g. B. also in Ashford. It NEVER happens to me at Morrisons or Sainsbury's and also in other shops, on the London Underground, on the bus the card is accepted without any problem. For me as a customer, the situation at the checkout is extremely embarrassing, as it looks as if I am unable to pay. That's why I can only avoid Asda supermarkets. Maybe one of those responsible will read this and take care of it. Until then, thumbs down.

Whenever we go shopping on a Sunday lunchtime there are never any scanners charged for the scan & go.

Would be a good store if the management actually paid their employees when they are supposed to, instead of trying to take advantage of the perceived naivety of new young employees.

We returned a faulty tv and the lady behind customer service Was useless . She wouldn’t find out if there were any more in stock , it was only when her colleague stepped in and went to the warehouse and found a replacement tv. She was so helpful even bringing the tv to our car . I didn’t catch her name but I must say well done for stepping in and helping out , perhaps the lady behind the counter of customer service could learn a thing or too.?

Drove there for dpd drop off. Turns out it’s broken and they weren’t advertising it anywhere. Not usable

I went into the store and they then made me do the automatic till for a very large shop, horrendous, They refused to man the tills. It took me ages and it kept going wrong. I was told by a grumpy lady supervisor that nobody comes onto the tills until 9.am. I have been served at 8.am there regularly for years so I know this was untrue. I will never go in this shop again until they get humans on the tills again. Worst shopping experience of my life.

Is this the most disorganised and uncaring Asda store in UK? After many months of trying to find a day and time when I could do my shopping without finding fault to the store I’m on the brink of thinking there’s no hope in seeing improvements. Faults I constantly encounter are pallets & boxes blocking shelves, pickers trolleys frequently in the way, items frequently out of stock, items of same kind placed in different aisles & items placed in aisles where they have no relevance to them and the entire store seems to be in a very disorganised way. While the staff are helpful, nothing is more annoying to have to encounter the staff undertaking random checks at checkouts who very roughly pull out items one has carefully placed in trolleys and then not return them to the same place and just pushing them back and damaging packages, squashing soft food packages and even breaking French sticks (bread) into two or three pieces. Come on Hollingbury Store Managers, get your store and staff trained and better organised as things are a disgrace!

I have been a loyal customer of Asda for over 20 years and today was one of my worst experiences of shopping. Firstly there were only two staffed checkouts open on a busy day, with queues going back through the aisles. Waiting time approx. 30 minutes. I am not opposed to new technology so I thought I would try the trolley 'pay as you go'. I had to call the assistant 8 times, firstly because I'd put my bags on the loading area - not acceptable; then to price some wine glasses which did not have a bar code on the box ; then because it did not recognise the item etc etc. On complaining the ( kind) assistant simply said - this is the way of the future! If the store is running a do-it- yourself checkout then at least give us a fighting chance to enjoy the experience. Why is it so difficult to navigate the system? Please open more staffed checkouts this Christmas so we can all have a happy holiday!

I purchased one of their glass cups £1.70 bees and sunflowers made tea drank the tea was holding cup to take to sink and it literally exploded in my hand i to a hundred pieces. Quite literally shattered ! If that had happened with hot liquid quite a different outcome should be removed from self!

Staff were so incredibly lovely to me when I was upset thank you to all 3 of the lovely staff who looked after me

They never have anything I want and what they do have Is poor quality. The only reason to go there is because its close. Most of the time we drive to a better shop

Absolutely useless and unhelpful, I come with a resident with learning disabilities. I took a bottle of oil for 11 pounds with a broken lid. I asked to get me one that worked as I was at the till with a disabled person. First he said it worked Lie Then that he was on his own ,so no NO HELP ASDA,THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE

About madness! Saturday afternoon at 5pm and loads of people queuing for self service checkouts and 2 cashier checkouts open and queues of 7 trolleys in each with 5 closed. Not coming back. Trolleys dumped with people fed up waiting.

As a popular supermarket you guys need to do better, collection slot being cancelled last minute is no way to treat your customers and there is no apologies

Can be very busy with not enough cashiers open. They move the prods around regularly so it can be confusing for elderly shoppers.

Unfortunately took my car to be hand washed whilst I did my food shop, to my horror there was a number of scratches left on my car that weren’t there previously. Wished I had checked previous reviews. Don’t make the same mistake, they clean the windows with razor blades which left all the windows damaged

YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR DATES, EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO TO YOUR SHOP, I LEAVE AND FIND OUT DAYS LATER THAT I BAUGHT FOOD THAT WENT OUT OF DATE ON THE SAME EXACT DAY, HOW HARD IS IT TO HAVE EMPLOYEES CHECK WHEN THEY'RE WALKING AROUND CHATTING.

Great superstore has everything you need under one roof clothing electrical food and drink the shelves are always stacked plenty of staff around for help and till staff a friendly and efficient

Great range of household goods and children's clothing. Store is big and busy so must be popular. Got babies 2 piece pyjama sets which is not available in other stores. The car park is a bit of a jumble and signs could be better.

Our food took a long time coming and when we got it found it very cold and tastless .Hot drinks were warm and cups only half full .Never going back

I visited Asda last week, arrived around 5.45 to find almost every vegetable and fruit isle totally empty, then bread and so it went on throughout the store. WhT a totL wast of my time. Why waste your money on advertising when you have very little to sell. I have been generous to give you one star

Went early this morning, over half the staff working in the aisles and a quarter of the shoppers not wearing any mask. No sign of enforcement or challenge from the management. Very poor.

In store Opticians’s is excellent, great choice and really good value, 2 pairs for £120 or 1 pair for £80… bargain.. I had a problem with the arrival of my order and the staff rectified the issue really quickly, but also said If I wasn’t happy they would refund.. So thanks to all..

One of the best Asda stores around checkout staff always friendly. The only downside to this store is there's to many online shopping carts blocking the produce they don't seem to think about access for everyone who's trying to get around and do their shopping apart from this I like the store better than Eastbourne or Brighton marina.

It is doing well but there are still insufficient staff at the checkouts. I have rated it at the 3 as I am not keen on the one entrance being for both the supermarket & the burger restaurant. It gets far too crowded in what is a relatively small area to deal with the foot traffic for both shoppers & diners. Unfortunately I must also add a footnote regarding the George clothing, which is boring!. Sadly both the quality & designs have deteriorated over the last year.

I used to use this ASDA a lot when I worked nearby, in fact on a daily basis. It’s a big store so you should be able to get everything you need if ASDA is your thing. Personally I find their products a bit hit and miss, for example their meats can be very fatty. This store also has a petrol station on-site which is handy but it can get very busy!

Visited asda today ridiculous absolutely no trolleys anywhere! Get in there pick up bits only to queue halfway up aisles to pay. Couldn't of been anymore than 4 checkouts open. The queues for self checkouts was the same....

Please please, just open some tills. A busy midday and 3 out of 16 checkouts open. Queues up the aisles 4 or 5 deep. Self service queuing and packed and still no one bothers to look at the customers being made to wait needlessly and open up more checkouts. Another big store only interested in self service checkouts. Not everyone has a small basket of items. Start thinking about the customers and not about monies being saved by getting rid of real checkout staff who actually have a face to talk to and do a proper job.

Not a nice place. Tired, mediocre produce, very busy. Noisy, poor lighting, terrible signage. At least most people were wearing masks.

NEW UPDATE : NEVER AGAIN! Self service checkouts that record your every move and biometrics. Good customer service when things go wrong 'but thats in store only'. ONLINE IT'S A NIGHTMARE!!! , Now you only get 3 days to dispute or return your online order and if you've been ill or distracted you need at least 7days. I was over charged £7.56 and then noticed an added charge to my card possibly by the annoyed delivery driver added £6.44 for the water I refused because it wasn't the right one. Trying to sort this online a nightmare, i'm still lost , have to ring them as seeing them in person you get told to go home and GO ONLINE. never again! CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR HIDDEN ASDA PAYMENTS!

I tried to return an item I bought that was not suitable for my mobile, wrong size. But they gave me the fob off the I had opened it too much and they couldn't re-sell it. I argued that it doesn't say open just a little but they wouldn't take it back. Bad vibes from Asda lately, avoid

Appalling treatment of my disabled husband just now. Accused him of pushing in queue with no evidence. No manager with any responsibility to speak to. Rude checkout person. Should never be facing customers. AVOID!

Multiple times now i have ordered food online and every time multiple items are not available yet say they are when ordering, you charge peoples card for all products ordered then on the day tell u half is unavailable then u have to wait 3-4 days for a refund, bloody inconvenient. Wont be shopping at asda anymore.

Terrible adsa store rude members of staff clearly don't follow their own social distancing policies!! Members the staff who wear their t-shirt Stating 2 metres distance and clearly made up their own rules when they shop themselves ! Manager rang back after complaint just as rude as her staff.

I went to Asda Saturday morning at 8.15 . I wanted 3 bags compost and bit shopping. Was refuse to go in bit outside for compost as lady tidying. Ask if she could pass me out she said no ! Said I’d wait but she said she didn’t know how long she be . So I had to shop and pay Go back out for compost go back in and Q again to pay !!! Crazy customer service

Only 6 tills open on a heaving Sunday?! Spent longer queuing than I did doing my whole food shop. The manager didn't seem to care, when asked why more tills weren't open when people were waiting 30 minutes he just said "we don't work that way"

This morning I went to top up petrol here and the gentleman behind the counter in the petrol station was extremely helpful. I was having trouble with my new bank card and he was so patient even with a busy queue and helped me set up Apple Pay. He was so friendly and made me smile and I don’t usually do reviews for such a quick and regular type of purchase but he was so good that I wanted to write this in the hope you can track down who was on the shift at 11am ish today and give him some recognition and feedback as he wowed me with his outstanding customer service. A refreshing experience. Very warm and went above and beyond, represented Asda excellently.
