Filippettos Italian Delicatessen in Chiltern

We come here regularly for Italian grocery items and occasionally for the amazing prawns, arancini and sandwiches. We really love it and find it a precious resource except for one thing: there are no longer any prices on the individual items - you have to ask for each item. I really don't love doing this and I don't understand why items can't have price tag - most shops seem to manage it. If you don't want to price each item then at least put the price on a sticker on the shelf - that way, customers know the price! This is a basic thing - please reconsider your practices.

My wife and I visit this deli a couple of times a week. Cappuccinos are the cheapest in the village and the best. Very large selection of authentic Italian goodies to buy most of which is imported from Italy. Food created on site very good. Can recommend the tif fin chocolate slabs, chicken pie and the chicken covered in breadcrumbs. Owner is a very friendly Italian gentleman who is welcoming . Highly recommended independent deli.

I took my son here for a treat for doing well at school and I was really disappointed, after reading some good reviews and choosing theirs over other places. Firstly the guy started taking down all the ice cream flavours while we were looking at it, well before closing time, so we didn’t know what they are and had to ask him, we received our order with no smile or thank you and the milkshake was basically milk whizzed up in the mixer. For £6 for a glass of milk, I was not impressed at all. We will Definitely not be returning.

A superb authentic Italian delicacy nestled in Little Chalfont The food is superb. I popped in to grab lunch; and ended up also grabbing something for dinner later. Home cooked with love. Everything was superb

They have a small lunch facility, pleasant outside tables in summer, Italian ice cream and Pannetone, special Italian fare. A special place.

Great Italian deli. Nick the owner is friendly and very helpful and the food they have its outstanding. Great selection of antipasti and cured meats, Also their Arancini balls at amazing. Well worth a visit.

We stopped here today for coffee and ice creams. We also asked if we could have a spare disposable paper cup so we could give our 1 year old some water to sip as it was a hot day. We were subsequently charged 30p for the cup. We wouldn’t mind paying for the cup if we had just asked for the cup but we bought other goods and it wasn’t cheap, we thought 30p was rather greedy and has put us off which is a shame as we wanted to have a look at the deli goods and other items.

Enjoyed some delicious nocciola gelato!! Fantastic, just as good as that in Rome! Also bought some fabulous black olives from the deli! Lovely friendly deli, very authentic and welcoming

The selection of pasta and general Italian ingredients and products is very good. However, it is genuinely more expensive than Fortnum & Mason’s food hall.

I worked in an office nearby and would often pop in for the cold meats and the chicken and leek pie. Not been travelling since Covid and it's places like this that I miss the most. Authentic home made food and quality Italian ingredients.

In a word, EXCELLENT! Very friendly staff here, well stocked, authentic Italian produce. After visiting for the first time, we are already looking forward to going back!

The service was friendly and lovely. I asked for breakfast and the girl immediately suggest me a delicious bacon and egg sandwich. Delicious cappuccino. I'll be back for sure.

This place has great Italian food and groceries to take away. We've had a few lunches and can recommend the arancini in particular. There's a good selection of Italian good to take away as well.

Nick and his team of lovely staff are always welcoming and friendly. The homemade Italian grub is awesome better than most restaurants who pretend to know how to cook Italian cuisine. Lasangna is amazing but my favourite is chicken escape, mozzarella and sundried tomatoes on ciabatta. Love the seasonal touches - Easter eggs, Christmas cakes and gelato in the summer - Costa opening next door now attracts more people than ever through Nick's door as why would you go sit in a chain coffee shop when you can get the real deal next door - just love it ❤👍

I had a take away from here a couple of months back so returned for lunch. Lasagne and a few vegetables was ok but nothing great. Girl behind the counter on her phone all the time and not particularly friendly. All in all, very average.

I went to Filippettos to treat myself with an ice cream. It’s a very cozy coffee shop, also I found the price very reasonable. Very friendly staff, perfect ambiance to spend time over a cup of coffee.

This little peice of Italy is a joy, fantastic meals to heat at home. Lovely cooked meats and delicious sweet treats. But for me the ice cream to die for I always find something scrummy. Always worth a visit

We were travelling to visit family on the M25 when we were alerted that there was a delay, and decided to take the next exit and continue our journey through smaller roads.Wanting a coffee we check for cafes nearby and got a chain name come up, parking up we walked past the empty chain coffee shop and entered Filippettos. It was like being back in Italy. The coffee was delicious, and so were the pastries. The staff were friendly.We have put Filippettos as a favourite for when we are visit family near Little Chalfont

It`s always a treat to eat here or takeaway some goodies to enjoy at home. Delicious chicken escalopes Russian salad , Toasted flatbreads and the icecreams are to die for!

this shop has excellent coffee and the food is realy great and you can order and take some good italian food home the staff are realy great and helpful

This Italian deli is a real find. We went on honeymoon to Italy in Oct 2010 and discovered that there really is no better cuisine, and their ice cream (gelato) is the best! Loads of different flavours. Hubby loves the sweet, cream filled pastries here and we enjoy one with a coffee. As for the deli section, you are spoilt for choice! But each one equally delicious.

In a village with lots of coffee shops, this deli really stands out. Have a coffee and a snack here and make sure you take something home. And the ice cream is the best in Little Chalfont.

Really nice deli, with great service but quite pricey. I take the kids there for a treat now and again, normally an ice cream or milkshake. These are very nice, but £3.50 for a milk shake is well over the top.

Food is exceptional with many varieties, it is fresh and lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful. The ice cream is excellent in the summer too! Go early to experience a whole variety

Filippettos is more like a proper old fashioned Deli, than the poor examples you see nowadays, and it's actually run by Italians!

I have recently moved to the area and visited Filippettos a few times for coffee and food. It is great to have somewhere a bit different and you could spend forever looking at all the tasty-looking products on the shelves. The ingredients they use for the paninis are top-quality and the coffee and pastries are also delicious.

I come here nearly every week. The food is always fresh and extremely tasty. The service is amazing too- even when they are busy there is always a smile, and they are as fast as they can be. I hesitated to add it to TripAdvisor as I don't want it to become too popular- but I couldn't keep this gem to myself!

Yo estaba pasando por la zona, pero necesita urgentemente de desayuno, así que después de haber visto el logotipo de costa desde el coche me fuimos al parque. Como ocurrió, pasé Filipettos que parecía tan acogedora con sus provisiones y comida italiana que fui allí. El servicio era encantador y amable. Pregunté vagamente algo breakfasty y la chica inmediatamente sugirió un panini tostado con jamón - era precioso! Me senté tranquilamente y disfrutamos de los alrededores de productos italianos.

Firstly always cheery service and genuine atmosphere..... staff and owner always on point leagues and shoulders above anyone in the area...... forgot names do apologise...... working in the industry I value their efforts... and my daughter gives them a massive thumbs up!!!

Good deli with all things Italian. Good for sliced meats, deli treats, wines and dried goods (pastas etc) as well as fresh coffee and great ice cream with proper sugar cones (NOT the ones that taste of cardboard).

Stopped here on a nice Sunday afternoon as Old Amersham was full. So glad we did!Fabulous home cooked dishes with a decent variety of options for a light lunch. Great coffee too. The gelato looked very good but we're saving that for our next visitService was friendly & a nice relaxed atmosphere about the place.

I shop here every week such a selection of tasty food esp like the lamb shanks, salmon en croutes to name only two. Cold meat and salads are a must. It is a pleasure to be served always with a smile.

this is a MUST GO place! the food is amazing they specialize in italian but my favourite is the ice cream milkshakes it's not a restaurant but the food is better than any restaurants' food

I have only ever had the gelato from here. But I have to say it's absolutely awesome. The delicatessen looks very interesting too. Will go shopping there one day soon.

Always a friendly welcome - although tables are limited, worth waiting for - authentic Italian produce to eat in and takeaway! Ice cream is delicious too. Well worth a little visit with plenty of parking outside!

Everything here is brilliant. The ice cream, the coffee, sandwiches, the deli ingredients. Never had anything other than a great experience here, staff and food is all perfect!

Stopped for a coffee and an ice cream. The ice cream was delicious and the coffee lovely. The service was polite and helpful. The young man even carried my ice cream out to my table.

This is a good deli where you can also sit down and have some food. Well worth a visit! The buffalo mozarella and parma ham are excellent

Had passed Filippettos a number of times without going in and this time round I gave the place a try. My eyes were quickly fixed on their Sicilian Sfogliatelle. They had different flavours from coffee, pistachio, chocolate and few others but not my favourite flavour of semolina/ricotta. However, I selected 9 pieces trying different flavours (Yes I know what you thinking....it was not just for me but also for the family). The surface of the Sfogliatelle was very crispy (I prefer it to be less crispy), the stuffings had a creamy texture and reasonable tasty. Personally, I would recommend local / in house baked, so they are fresh on the day rather than import them from Italy. However, they were still decent.

What else is there to say? Having been to Venice recently and sampling a lot of gelato we were delighted to have stumbled across this deli. Homemade gelato in numerous flavours, hazelnut and brownie and both amazing. We bought 6 scoops and all were nice.

With a 2 year old and a baby in tow, 4 of us descended on Filippettos and decided to eat outside as it offered us more room and being a muggy day, seemed the best option.The food was excellent and to follow, we all had one of their ice creams which were absolutely delicious.It's the must go to place in Little Chalfont, that's for sure !

If you want top quality Italian deli then you can't go wrong here. Sit inside or take away and staff really friendly and knowledgable

We always come here for our coffee rather then go to the other coffee shop near by. The Italian deli food is always freshly made and the escalope's and lasagne are amazing. In the summer there are people waiting for their amazing Italian ice cream and at Christmas this Deli is a must. Independent Italian Deli. Friendly helpful staff.

This is a great, friendly little place that serves wonderful home prepared Italian food and boast a licence so a cold beer or glass of wine is on the menu!Such friendly and engaging people. This will be a regular place for a quick but special lunch.

Since our son and his family moved to Little Chalfont, we have visited several times a year.. And each time we go to Filippettos for coffee and/or food. It is quite simply the best coffee around - and reliably so. The food is superb, whether for taking away or eating in, and in summer no walk to the shops is complete without ice cream from Filippettos. The service is delightfully friendly, as befits a small family-run business. No visit to Little Chalfont is complete without a visit to Filippettos.

Great coffee and pastries, awesome milkshakes. Great little place. The food is nice too, traditional Italian. Nice to pick up some deli pastas too as well as seasonal imports like panettone. A regular place for us.

Lucky to have this deli locally. The young lady there is very helpful and friendly.I buy the best Aubergine Parmigiana and Lasagne from here. They also have lots of other lovely italian bits and pieces!

Saturday is our day to make our own pizza and generally spend time together as a family. Filipetto's is a haven of fresh Italian produce. Great oils, '00' flour, Nicks incredible tomato sauce, superb buffalo mozzarella...and of course amazing coffee. Had to tear myself away from the pastries, but I'll be back for those.Perfect pizza started in a pan on the hob, and finished under the grill. Could've been in Naples. Give the big chains a miss, and go Independent. There's no reason to not visit.

Filippettos is the kind of local independent place we need to support to stop any further homogenisation of our towns and cities because you couldn't find the same true Italian food and charm in a chain. Their espresso is probably the best in the Chalfonts and if you have it with a slice of panettone or a sfogliatella you will probably want to came back for more!

I've been buying their food for years and highly rate it. Genuine Italian delicacies, home cooked ready dishes, Snacks, Parma ham, Italian cheeses, ice cream, cakes. Lasagne especially notable.Best of all is the lovely friendly welcome I always receive.Well worth a detour.

Excellent food, generous portions, very flexible menu all at reasonable prices, very supportive to us on two occasions in the past month when we were entertaining our extended family and friends who were visiting from overseas. The food available to eat as well as the deli food is all lovely. A good range with many options it terms of how things are combined. It appears the warm food is prepared/cooked on site and served by lovely people who know their stuff.The only challenge (for me) is the chairs. They appear to be garden chairs that have a kind of lip. As a short person it means they dig into the back of my legs making them very uncomfortable. A minor thing but a shame.

The coffee is lovely and they have a large variety of food on the delicatessen. I love their olives, sundried tomatoes and grilled peppers/vegetables.

Love the food here, it's authentic Italian food, and although more on the expensive side, everything made in front of you (except the pasta in the slow cooker) - so expect a wait whilst they do your food, but it's worth it! It's not a mass produced out of a tin kind of affair, but hand made, authentic cooked food which makes you feel good. Only downside is the coffee is quite bitter (for me), which may be due to the authenticity? But it's better than the high street chains. Often come here as a pay day treat :)

I try to pop by when I'm working nearby, lovely food and especially nice Italian staff a little pricy but a lively tasty treat that won't disappoint x

The moment you get into Filippeto's deli you can experience the Taste of Italy. Prosciutto and the salumi range are sliced accurately as they are prepared in Italy, the food si typical of an itlain deli, la cotoletta, le lasagne, i pomodorini ripieni...I'm drooling everytime I think of it. And of course the ice cream and the coffee selection is at pair with a coffe and ice cream parlour in Italy. Wine selection and other digestivi from the Belpaese complete the offer...and don't forget the seasonal every Christmas I buy the hamper and the classic panettone e pandoro. During Easter time I can't stay away from the chocolate eggs with surprise for my son. I've been lilving in England for more than 18 years and I miss Italy sometimes. I just go to Filippetto's and have a 'chiaccherata' with Nicola to feel at home. Grazie

A super deli, I visit every week. Especially like the Fratarta? And the special prepared dishes salmon en croutes this week.Lasagna and meatballs are favourites. Staff are always cheerful and obliging.

Always has a great choice of home made Italian dishes, ideal for lunch or parties. Best panatone for miles & local treats.

Nice little slice of Italy right in the heart of Little Chalfont.Great coffee and always something interesting foodwise to tempt the palate,Arancini being one of my favourites.The beautifully presented Panettone always make a good present around Christmas time.

As a village delicatessen it is a fabulous place to have coffee, lunch or "to die for "gelato!!! We used Filippettos for my husband's 60th birthday lunch in our garden. From start to finish Nick, Valentina and the rest of the crew made life very easy by organizing EVERYTHING - the beautiful marque, the chairs, tables, cutlery, glasses and then on the day delivering absolutely delicious food in an extremely efficient , helpful and happy way which made for a superb atmosphere. I think in someway they had a hotline to the weatherman as we had THE most perfect day!Thank you , Nick, to you and your staff for making it a day to remember!
