Great coffee. Prime spot. Don't come in a rush.

It's a lovely place, view, the vibe, the friendliness... But when it's a quiet lunch (February midweek) it was surprising that at 12:30 they'd sold out of their toasted sandwiches...and the menu on their Instagram and in person is different/contradiction. So had to eat at CoalX next door.

Visited here last weekend, what an incredible spot! Tasty coffee and the pulled pork focaccia was amazing (which I ended up sharing with my wife) All the staff were busy but still super friendly and helped me decide on what pastry to go for, if you’re visiting this site soon try the vanilla cream bun

Twice been here now and once the kitchen was closed and today they only serving whats on the counter they call this fika but it's nothing like the fika in Hove offering a basic dead menu and cold coffee never coming to the brighton fika again let me down too many times now save yourself the stress and go to the one in Hove

Food and drinks are nice but way too many tables so it's crammed

Where have all the egg toasties gone? Their logo is an egg; you can’t get rid of the eggs?!?

I wish I could review the food and coffee, but alas, I never got to taste it. Meeting my mrs who had been swimming at Sea Lanes, I had just been for an 8 mile run, we agreed to meet here afterwards. Gagging for some food and drink I ordered a coffee and sarnie, only to be told that they didn’t accept cash. I know this is a growing problem but as a small business owner myself, I honestly cannot fathom someone asking for my products or services, waving cash in front of me to pay for it, only to decline them. It’s truly mind boggling. FIKA must be doing very well to have the luxury of turning down good money.

Great coffee. Good food but kitchen closes a lot. Coffee came 25 minutes after the food. Love it, but worth a shake up!

Rubbish. Asked the server for an extra hot hot chocolate and it was barely tepid. How is this remotely acceptable? £13.90 for 4 drinks that were sub-standard. Total mickey take

Fika means ‘let’s have coffee and cake’ in Swedish…but in Brighton and Hove it means soooo much more This place makes me smile…just the thought of it. The coffee…the staff…the achingly cooool atmosphere (without the Insta or the price tag)….and the foood????…OH MY GOD…food heaven…every mouthful is genius…it’s perfectly balanced between orgasmic and angelic…full fat but fantastic quality…I dream of it And now I find out they’ve opened on 2nd Ave…even closer to home…there is a God! FIKA…thankyou…Brighton and Hove are truly lucky to have you…and my day is made complete because of you 🙏xxx

Lovely location but honestly the chai latte is terrible and there aren't many other options for non-coffee drinkers.

Ordered coffee, cake and food. Food arrived quickly, which was great, but our drinks ordered at the same time were over half an hour (2 coffees) and had finished the food before going to see where they were. They were on the counter with a receipt and hadn’t been delivered to table*. So were a little cold by the time we got them. * Be careful when ordering from QR code on table as it appears walk-ins take precedence over table service. Lastly there was a bit of attitude from the waiter when going up to the till and politely asking where the coffees were, acknowledging they were busy and showing receipt highlighting order was over half an hour ago. Seemed he didn’t really want to be there and not bothered that they’d taken ages. Location is good, food was nice but not sure I’d go again as service really let it down on all fronts.

Really disappointing visit. Beans on toast was terrible, the bread was so soggy and fell apart. Took nearly 40 minutes to arrive too. Nice atmosphere and coffee but wouldn’t return for food, stick to the Hove one for food in future!

We had brunch at Fika @ the Beach. The muffins were high-quality, packed with fried egg, sausage, and cheese. I liked the addition of a burger-style sauce; the acidity helped cut through the richness of the muffin. A lovely cup of tea on the side as well. Delicious. It seems like the place is always busy, which is a good sign, but be aware you might have to queue for 10-15 minutes to order. The app they use was originally taking orders when we sat down, but by the time we finished choosing, it came up with an error: 'kitchen currently not taking orders.' I assume it was due to the high volume of orders coming through. Once we ordered, the food arrived quickly and was piping hot. I'd definitely go again.

Love this cheeky spot for coffee and food , always a great vibe and buzzing at the weekend with Dj , playing upstairs . Great spot right by Sealanes swimming pool and Volks railway goes by , dog friendly, toilets always open . Sadly today my 2 x lattes were served luke warm and only in takeaway cups that are tiny . Let’s hope your standard s aren’t slipping .

Fantastic flat white. So good I walked back from the pier to have a second one - 5* coffee! Food was tasty, had a cheese, prosciutto, mustard and gherkin sourdough sandwich heated and it was tasty. Felt reasonably priced too.

This is the second time I have visited Fika. The first time I walked-out after 10 minutes in a very short queue. This time my order was taken within minutes but it took them more than 20 minutes to fulfil my order of two takeaway coffees. For the price I was expecting much better and I won’t be going back. It’s a shame, as this place could be amazing if they got their backsides in gear.

Great coffee and a great location when the weather is good and of course excellent if you happen to be visiting sea lanes for a swim. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, service always seems good and friendly, very tasty breakfast muffin for a quick snack.

Great little place along the beach where you can enjoy the ocean views, some sun (or shade) and great food. We ordered the nutty butty kimchi toasted sandwich and it was heavenly.

If I lived in Brighton I would come here every day. Coffee is absolutely amazing & the Hide & Squeak is my favourite breakfast sandwich without a doubt. Lovely outdoor space too. I really liked that I could sit down at a table & order through the QR code.

I go here daily as it’s my local cafe, love the location and vibe. The staff, however, just can’t be bothered. I don’t think I’ve ever had a smile or conversation with any of them despite going 1-2 x daily every day. It’s very busy so that could have something to do with it, but doesn’t take much to smile and be polite.

Amazing! Staggered in after finishing London to Brighton. Was craving... something probably salt and demanded a sausage butty, what came out was the pinacle of breakfast sarnies! Sausage, egg, bacon, cheese, pickle all served on a delicious but structurally stable muffin. Well done and thank you!

Excellent location where you can sit outside with beautiful sea views, and your table can order from different venues. I had a nutty butty kimchi sandwich on Saturday. It's now Friday the following week, and I can honestly say that every day since then, I have thought of this sandwich. The usual kimchi I buy from sainsburys won't cut it anymore, I'll have to try to make my own. I also got an iced flat white with the butty, which was perfection. And then I couldn't stop there, got a "Brighton your day" smoothie to go. I love smoothies :-) The only negative was that management seemed a bit stressy and bossy to the other workers (it was busy to be fair, but I wouldn't expect any different on a sunny Saturday in Brighton). The workers were all friendly and looked to be working efficiently, so it would be nice to see them treated nicely :-) Maybe they are treat well behind the scenes or they are understaffed, I hope they are all happy :-) I would definitely come back when visiting Brighton again <3

It’s a nice spot sure but the coffee sucks, I don’t know who their supplier is but it’s just horrid, worst long black I’ve had in Brighton for sure and it cost £4. I went in today to get a pastry (they’re pretty good) and they’ve now got an automated coffee machine, should have gone Greggs instead, their beans are at least half decent.

I love this place BUT the music is always so unbelievably terrible, so so dry. Such a shame

Everything is great - except in the daytime when there’s a handful of people here for quiet chats or working / reading the music has always been blasted out at nightclub levels. Really annoying as otherwise I would treat it as my second lounge.

Disappointed with the team work: staff doesn't know what they are selling 😞: I asked for croissant, but was served cinnabon! According to the shop assistant it's the same!!! Oh, really!? Coffee was not served in order of the queue, hence was spitted over by several other customers. Hello. People. Customers are waiting and must be served in a queue!!! I had to request a NEW cup of Hot coffee, and heard staff talking back!!! Seriously!? Who is training these women for work in this place!?

Arrived at about 9 and very busy. Small queue, but they still had seating. Enjoyed the cinnamon bun.

We've popped along to FIKA a few times after having a dip at the nearby Sea Lanes outdoor lido. They have a good system of seating yourself with a tableside QR code or using the counter for takeout. They have the FIKA Cafe or FIKA Kitchen which have slightly differing menus - covering brunch through to really nice toasted sandwiches and cakes + coffees etc. Super quick service with ordering food and being served it in around 5 to 10 mins. If wanting to sit outside of the open plan cafe space, there is a large outdoor area and roof terrace for warmer months. You also have the choice of ordering from Bison or one of the other vendors too. All-in-all, it's a great little spot 🌟

The cappuccino was very tasty, loved the atmosphere of the roof terrace with the beautiful sea views along with the Brighton Palace Pier in the distance. Highly recommended to check this place out especially during the summer when it gets warm out there. 5 stars and 10 out of 10. 👍👍😇😇

Great coffee, especially post swim, staff are really friendly and they have a loyalty scheme so 11th coffee is free. Haven't eaten there yet, but there's some great looking muffins, sadly I need to lose my "muffin tops" before imbibing.

Sandwich served half bernt, so toasted the crust crumbled like sand. Ice latte had expired oat milk with floaters and the ice melted so fast the iced latte was room temperature oat milk within 5 minutes. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Top pitstop along Maidera Drive. Toasted sandwiches and flat breads are awesome and when the weather is good it's lovely hanging out on the benches outside.

Divine coffee by Backyard Coffee! Followed by the perfect brunch. Been following these guys since they opened in Hove (best hangover cure breakfasts in town!) & couldn’t wait to visit them at Sealanes for a swim and a bite. Started with a delicious Flat White inside, then tucked into delicious smoky beans & salmon on toast outside. Absolutely love the way they’ve decked the restaurant out, food & venue marriage made in heaven. Even saw Steve Coogan! Winning. Thanks guys, back very soon!!!

Saw the Hove site on Topjaw so had to give this a go! Service was quick & friendly, seen a few reviews complaining about the QR code system but worked absolutely flawlessly. Coffee was great, ordered another to take away ☕ Hide & Squeak with Bacon was glorious 🥓 Highly recommended, nice outdoor seating area in the Brighton sunshine ☀️

This place was amazing. My friend and I both had the Susie breakfast burger and it was stunning, absolutely delicious - incredible bacon, excellent sesame seeded brioche bun, so much flavour and so enjoyable. The Cheesy Smashed Tots were less cheesy, smashed and potty than I expected - they were closer to halved new potatoes with a little bit of sauce and cheese. Still good but was expecting smaller - more sauce and cheese. Nevertheless would highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed this place.

A cool new cafe right by the beach at the new Sea Lanes development. Loads of outside space where you can enjoy your latte listening to the waves.

Disappointing. I queued to take order and was told to have a table number before they can place my order. So I had to walk away and found a table, then went back to queue again. After they got my order, my table was taken, so I need to tell the other customer to move to other table. And finally the waitress was delivering my drink, she was looking around and asking different tables before coming to me. I mean, what’s the point?

We’ve spent probably far too much time at Fika in Hove and we finally got a chance to visit Fika on the Beach at Sea Lanes today. The service, coffee and food are all excellent, like being at FIKA in Hove, but on the beach. As if we needed another reason to FIKA 😂

Just had one of, if not the best croissants ever from this cafe and it’s SOOOOO GOOOOOOD! It’s dog friendly and has a beautiful setting, 100% recommend

Painfully slow service. They need to sort out their ordering system and work out where the tables are to speed things up. Instead of doing laps of the complex with plates.

Nice coffee. However I watched what I presume is the manager refuse to give two children tap water because of some nonsense excuse about ice, all while an employee filled up their own cup at the sink for themselves. All licenced premises are required by law to provide tap water for drinking. It was a very hot day and refusing is presumably a nasty way of selling more bottled water. Music was awful and the reason we left as soon as we'd finished. It was like being sat in the club smoking area. Thumping bass with no descernable melody ruined what would be a nice venue to drink a nice coffee... And a nice glass of tap water.

Terrible customer service after trying to order coffees through the QR code on tables. When our table’s orders were placed, we waited for 15 minutes before going to the counter to check in on the status. The woman at the till then told us that she had turned off the machine and wouldn’t process our orders because the counter was too busy. News of the machine being turned off hadn’t been communicated to anyone sat inside or outside. We subsequently tried to cancel our orders but because the machine was turned off, it wasn’t possible. When we asked for a refund, we were told by the same person that because it was too busy, it wouldn’t be possible until things quietened down later that afternoon ‘hopefully’. She wasn’t willing to process our refund there and then because she was too busy. We left our details with the promise that we would be contacted to process the refunds once the queue had died down. As it stands, it’s been 5 hours since trying to order a couple of coffees and we still haven’t been contacted as promised to process our refund… Overall it was really disappointing with the attitude from staff being incredibly poor. With so many staff working, it was surprising to encounter such disregard for customers. Unfortunately we won’t be returning anytime soon, which is a real shame given the hype for the new location and small business.

A good friend invited my family out for Brunch. One of the best places I’ve visited in a long time.Staff are very friendly and the chef was very accommodating for my fussy lot. A Breath of fresh air by the sea. WE will be back and Very Soon
