Ferry Cookham in Windsor and Maidenhead

I came in over the weekend and was served by a gentleman named Hayden Moore. His service was brilliant and our food came out in great time. If you come in I would recommend requesting being served by this young man as he is always there to help and cater.

Reading the listed comments I think we went to a deferent pub to every body else. The food was mostly not as in the menu. Duck stir fry the duck and its skin was not well coked the veg that came with it looked and tased as if it was coked yesterday. Sad but true. We will be back but only to have a drink by the river.

After booking in advance and a reserved table with my name on very impressive, selected the Sunday roast sharing option £52 lovely environment and quite quickly food arrived, it was immediately obvious that the beef looked fat and lots of gristle so we requested that the beef was replaced during which I concentrated on the pork and it was impossible to chew and had a very unusual taste the chicken was ridiculously small so we just requested a refund and left it is noteworthy that the manageress couldn't have been more genuinely apologetic and subsequently we will return at some stage

Great little pub, lovely location and really enjoyed the new menu. Plenty of delicious options for different dietary requirements including those with allergies and vegetarians and our server Jackie was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the different choices which made for a really enjoyable meal out! Excellent food, friendly service

The venue has a new menu and the food just keeps getting better and better, well priced, friendly staff, great views of the river, Jackie who served us was amazing will definately be going for more food especially in the summer.

Lovely pub with plenty of seating (also some outdoor) and staff were so friendly. Parking is adequate and free, but you may not find space at peak times. Food was delicious and good portion sizes. I had the super green salad with added seabass and it was so good. We went earlier and had some cocktails before lunch and sat outside near the river. Prices were reasonable.

I was served by Jackie. She is was very helpful and attentive from start to finish. I suffer with anxiety especially when places are busy or unfamiliar and she was really helpful and understanding. She made sure both myself and my partner were happy and comfortable throughout our whole visit and her customer service was 10/10. Very friendly, bubbly, chatty and knowledgeable. I would definitely come back again after that service 🙂

Went to the ferry for a family meal, and I tried the chicken skewers and I dont know what was more beautiful them or the waitress Caitlin that served us, her service was remarkable and a real asset to the ferry. Thank you for a lovely day.

What a great evening at the Ferry in Cookham. Great food, great service, great location. The weather was perfect too, but I don't the pub had much to do with that.

A second visit to The Ferry recently and was served by the same young lady Caitlin. With not only a polite and fast service whilst a busy shift. It was a pleasure to a see smile the whole evening. The octopus matched the service what a great change to the menu.

Service was good from Caitlin and Mo. The steak sandwich had too much horse raddish but was still good.

Clearly gets its success because of its setting next to the Thames. Very busy with diners and so this is not really a place for drinkers; food takes priority. The exterior gives it a rustic feel but this is mainly lost inside. Still, clearly a very successful and sought after place.

Lovely pub next to the Thames. Had a Sunday roast and the portions were very generous. The beef melted in the mouth and the Yorkshire puddings were tasty. Would definitely recommend for romantic meals, catch up friends and even if you just want to have a little escape and relax Staff are very warm and friendly

My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's day and had the Valentine's day set menu. The food itself was quite nice, but the service and the drinks really let us down. The service was incredibly slow, with all the tables in our region at the end of the night laughing together about us all not seeing a waiter and all not being able to get the bill for ages. Us and all the people around us were constantly waiting for drinks. I asked for water 3 times before it came. My first cocktail came with a chipped sharp glass on the rim of the little prosecco shot glass with it. The prosecco was flat and vinegary. The second cocktail I ordered was not a cocktail at all and was instead was just tonic. It was meant to have passion fruit and orange etc and you can see from the picture that it was completely clear. I asked a waiter to help me figure out if they gave me the wrong drink, but of course he didn't come back. Eventually another waiter was around to help and said she would replace the drink for another because it wasn't right, but then of course the original drink was still left on the bill so we had to sort that out. The drink I was given in replacement had the flat and vinegary prosecco and was not good. Our starter came way before our drinks and we had to wait 5 minutes for a waiter to come around to give us a spoon to eat our desserts. All the lights in the room were flickering constantly, that needs to be looked at and was quite distracting. Two salt shakers on the table, not salt and pepper. In terms of the food, I thought the chocolate bomb was really good, would recommend! We really wanted to have a nice evening on Valentine's day, but unfortunately we were really let down here and I think many people were on that night. When paying over £100 for a meal I expected a lot more than this. I understand that Valentine's day is a busy shift, so maybe more staff should be put on for these occasions.

Table booked for 2:15pm, my friends arrived on time, I was slightly late and arrived 2:25. When I arrived nobody had even spoken to them to offer drinks/water etc. mushroom risotto was unavailable leaving my friend with dietary requirements only the banana blossom stew to order (in her words; tasted like vinegar and off). This was returned and taken off the bill. We were served 4/6 drinks & asked if he had received everything, explained drinks were missing & didn’t see the waiter again for 20 mins. My other friend ordered his burger with extra patty and no sauce- got his extra patty on a totally plain burger. All around a comedy of errors and delays. I had to ask twice for my son’s second drink. When we spoke to a manager at the end and requested that the service charge was removed from the bill, there was absolutely no enquiry about the reason we were unwilling to pay a service charge, just removed it without question. Lots of other small details that exacerbated the experience like waitress having no idea what kind of drink a pinot noir is (not her fault!) but these on top of the errors and delays was farcical.

The setting is beautiful. My food (sea bass) was lovely, others enjoyed their food too, however one guest returned his fish and chips. The service was slow, but really friendly and polite. Overall, I love coming to this place and usually enjoy the cocktails, the atmosphere and mostly the setting.

Visited the Ferry for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! We had the Trio of Meats Sharing Platter which was delicious! Beef was perfectly pink, juicy belly pork and chicken with all the trimmings including fabulous huge Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, sauces and gravy. Wish I'd had room for a pudding which all sounded gorgeous... next visit I will have to try one. Lovely location next to the river with great staff and atmosphere. Will be back. Thank you ☺️

Joshua, our waiter at The Ferry in Maidenhead, elevated our evening with his impeccable service and warm demeanor. Attentive yet unobtrusive, he seemed to anticipate our needs with effortless grace. His genuine charm and refined professionalism added a touch of elegance to the entire experience. Dining with Joshua’s care felt less like a meal and more like a perfectly orchestrated occasion. A true gem of hospitality!

I ventured forth to partake in the bounteous offerings of sustenance and drink, and verily, I was not left wanting. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a charming host, clad in attire reminiscent of the finest courtly garb, who did usher me into the grand hall (Josh Giddings). The ambiance reeked of warmth and merriment, with the crackling of the hearth lending a pleasing backdrop to the lively banter of fellow patrons.

I returned to the ferry for the food, the drinks and the excellent service. Low and behold i was being served by the reason i came back to the ferry, Josh. The food was good as always and the service too due to Josh being warm and welcoming. I highly recommend, cant imagine what this place will be like in the summer with the idyllic scenery and the outdoor area. Will definitely return.

Commanding a prime view of the Thames this pub/restaurant is a great summer location to enjoy the river. The large windows offer diners a great Thames aspect with a good selection of food and beverages.

Amazing food !!! It was all well presented and it was all cooked to perfection. The customer service we received on arrival to leaving was outstanding. Our waitress was called Madeliene. Madeliene was attentive, extremely polite and very prompt. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. If I was asked to score it out of 10.... I would score it a 10++++++++++++ .OUTSTANDING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Good solid pub. Very friendly and helpful staff on New Year’s Day. Were very kind to the children in our group giving them colouring in books. Food is standard for a pub nothing bad at all.

Christmas Lunch at the Ferry was overall good, the bread and starter (scallop thermidor) was excellent, the beef wellington was disappointing though. The potatoes, veg and gravy were lovely but the wellington pastry was soggy and the beef was cooked to medium-well/well done, I don't know why the kitchen decided that, most of the meat was grey and lost a lot of flavour. We weren't asked beforehand how we'd like our beef cooked, and it would've been much nicer to have the wellington cooked to rare or medium rare max. Such a shame. My chocolate bomb dessert was fantastic but my dads poached pear dessert was disappointing, the pear was tiny as well. Not quite the quality we'd expect for £95 a head. So overall good but could've been better.

We booked to come for Christmas lunch and paid just under £100 per person. Unfortunately, the food was very poor, overcooked on the bread/toast, and meat, especially the beef wellington. This was incredibly tough and I struggled to cut it with a standard knife, I wasn't offered a steak knife for the beef. The sprouts were massively undercooked, too hard to put your knife through. The roast potatoes were also undercooked. The food was certainly not worth what we paid. The service was poor. No-one came to check if our meals were ok throughout our whole visit, so we did not have the opportunity to highlight the areas for concern. We had to ask for cutlery as this wasn't replaced after the starters. We waited a long time for drinks, and that order was also incorrect when it arrived. When trying to pay the bill, again, we were not asked if everything had been ok, so was not afforded the opportunity to voice our concerns. As it was Christmas Day, we thought it kinder not to complain to the young individual who presented our bill. To add insult to injury, we were charged the usual service charge, when we actually received no service! Our table was not clean on arrival, nor was the carpet underneath. All in all, a hugely disappointing experience when we'd booked the table for 12pm, a quieter time on arrival, as we had our elderly mother with us. I would not recommend eating The Ferry Christmas dinner again to anyone.

I came here the other day with my family and it was so lovely and amazing the food was so delicious and the atmosphere was very nice a waitress called summer served us she was very polite and kind she was very patient with us and she had a nice conversation with us and we loved every bit of it. We will definitely be coming back the drinks and the food was lovely and thank you to summer she made our night very special

Wonderful place, I came here with my work colleagues for a Christmas get together, the food was cooked to perfection, the atmosphere was brilliant and despite how busy the place was we was served by a young waitress by the name of Summer who handled the pressure of all our demands with such class and you would of thought she had worked there for years, she was very helpful and a credit to the Ferry. We will definitely be returning!
