Fenham Wing Chau in Newcastle upon Tyne

Ordered food and cost nearly £40 quid, the pork was out of date and smelt of vinegar, this is the second time now with the pork being off and grey, waiting for my replacement meal but that will probably go in the bin also, I would say it's such a shame because the satay sauce they use is the best going, what a shame, avoid at all costs.

Spent nearly £20 on food to be given what was supposed to be wontons and was given basically a cold, fried piece of what tasted like stale bread. Salt and pepper chips were hard and still frozen as well tasting like curry powder. Total waste of money. Only thing edible was the rice.

Just ordered nearly. £30 of food from here, never tasted something so disgusting in the whole of my life. Beef curry was thick like wallpaper paste, the taste was like dead animal. Chips no taste. Rice no taste, disgusting. Stay away from this place. 🤢

I haven't ordered from here in a while, but love the Singapore chow mein, but this Chinese always is my preferred one, Just wish they were open through the day time, understand why some places can't because it's cost effective I'd think, but by far I love there special fries rice, it is beautiful! Please start opening through thr day even just on a Saturday, Been about 3 months since I've had anything from there, but if it's the same as I'm used to getting , I'd prefer to order from here then anywhere else, but because they aren't open in the day time, I order from spicy China in the town,

Extemely disappointed. I've lived here for 60+ years and 30 years ago the food was ok. I ordered today and it was absolutely awful. The taste and texture was abhorrent. My wife couldn't eat the sweet and sour chicken, I couldn't eat the special foo young, meat pieces too big and tasteless, chips and curry sauce awful and we couldn't understand how the chips came in a bag printed with Beresporkshop freshly roasted pork sandwiches! Stay away. PS I was violently sick for 2 days after eating this food. I am going to attempt to eat something later today or tomorrow but never again from that takeaway.

Always bang on only disappointment is the gravy sauce but can't seem to find decent gravy at any chinese

Absolutely horrific and will not return. Serving food straight from the kitchen that is half warm is a recipe for food poisoning. I live minutes from this place and got home and found the rice was one big block of half warmed rice and the chow mein had some hot and some cold pieces of meat and veg obviously showing that its not been heated through properly. Thrown in the bin to avoid food poison. The place was rammed and clearly took too many orders but thats no excuse for sending out cold food.

Waited 2 hour 30 minutes. rang after 1 hour 30 and they where making it .1 hour later it was going to be made next...never again...CANCELLED ORDER!!!!!

I ordered special curry with king prawns etc and there was a solitary prawn! Chips were soggy and the meat was really chewy! Don’t even consider ordering from them! Awful!!!

Love this place , curry is lush and you get plenty , friendly staff and never had a problem at all with this takeaway .

Would NOT recommend this place live 2 mins away and took 43 mins to get to me when it arrived I had jelly looking curry bit of hard stuff like stones in and loads of black but looked like it had been stored in fridge tasted rank made me feel sick to the stomach would NOT order from here again

Disgusting, stay away. Food was tge worst and the staff are very rude. Salty CHIPS. Only get a handful for 3.90

First and last time we will use this takeaway. Firstly, they delivered an hour BEFORE we wanted. The rice had been in the container so long it was solid, the chips were dry and over cooked. The worst was the sweet & sour sauce. It had very very strong chemical smell and the taste was worse, as if they'd added some cheap perfume to it. Two bites and it all went in the bin. Disgusting isn't the word.

Very poor experience of this place. Ordered a meal on Christmas Eve and it arrived an hour and a half late. That wasn’t the problem they were busy and I accept that. The problem was that I order 2 chicken dishes and they delivered 1 prawn dish and one chicken. The prawn one was battered so it wasn’t immediately obvious. Being allergic to prawns I couldn’t eat this and If I had would have ended up in hospital. I phoned to complain and they offered to send another meal but it was nearly midnight so declined. They offered to replace the whole meal and it would be noted on the computer. I called tonight for the replacement mean and was told he wasn’t in on Christmas Eve and couldn’t see anything about this so wasn’t prepared to offer anything. Very disappointing service, especially considering the severity of cross contamination and the effect it could have caused.

Love the chicken fried rice, salt and pepper chicken and the SP chips 🍟 from here, good place.

Ordered from here tonight curry sauce smelt of coffee and tasted grainly and clumpy like it has been sitting all night, rice was cold and taste was horrible not be ordering here ever again service was disgusting as person at takeaway got abrupt when complained about the food advised would not refund unless i come into store ive had to pay £2 for a driver to come collect the food after i complained to get my money back customer service and food are both discusting

Wouldn't recommend ordering from Wing Chau. My whole order was dry, chips seemed reheated, the curry was lumpy and also looked like it had been left to cool down then microwaved. The crispy aromatic duck was so dry and so was the fried rice. Everything I ordered tasted like it has been premade the day before and microwaved to order. Wing Chau have gone downhill.

Decided to treat the family to a takeaway turned out to be anything but a treat. Re- heated chips, congealed curry sauce , tasteless bland sauce with King Prawns were a few of the problems, never again.

Rang to order my food at 17.57 for delivery at 7.30 waited and waited rang 56 times before I got through at 8 to be told it was getting bagged up then it didn’t turn up till 8.40 and was cold so had to heat it up, will never go back again

First time going here, Ordered King Prawn & vegetable chow mein, tasted ok but did not have any different veg in it, no water chestnuts, no white raddish , no mushrooms, literally was too much onions and bean sprouts, I was just crunching crunching on onions, curry on the chips abit to spicy for me, very small portion. Will not go back, chow mein at Kent gardens is amazing.

I wouldn't go anywhere else. In fact I've followed these chefs from previous establishments. Wing Chau's are very clean which is a plus to say the least and very friendly and prompt service. Wouldn't go anywhere else..😉

I have been using Wing Chau For many years (I believe since they were under another name). Never had any issues at all and the staff were always very friendly. I ordered Noddles, curry, rice, chips and chicken in a tray. I was was specific in what I ordered. Yet when the order arrived, there was no chicken and there were bean sprouts in it. When I called them to ask about it, apparently it was my fault because I didn't tell them I didn't want bean sprouts. But I ordered very specifically. As I explained to the member of staff, if I'd wanted bean sprouts I would of ordered chow mein. But, I order 5 specific items. The member of staff started to become annoyed with me over this. I even explain that I've order this before on other occasions and never had any issues. And also when I have on occasion order from other restaurants, they've given me exactly what I asked for. The issue with the missing chicken was never really addressed. The staff member seemed to become even more annoyed at my comments and abruptly said he`d send another one. I just told him not to bother and that I would not be ordering from them again. Don't get me wrong, the food is brilliant and they've always been my go to place. But it was the way I was spoken to, as though I was stupid. It is not acceptable to treat paying customers in this way. This review is for those that visit the restaurant in future, "You need to be very specific. And I mean crossing T's and dotting I'd". Other wise you could be left with a negative experience, regardless of where you go to. As for the restaurant, you need to ask customers more specific questions to ensure that your customers get exactly what they paid for.

great food, poor phone service answered wing chau no hello etc, whats the order, yea yea thats £11 say very formal no customer service, no thank you etc, no estamated time for delivery...... lets it down

Fantastic takeaway!! We always order from this takeaway because we believe the food is 10/10. But today the delivery took a little long so i phoned to ask and the guy on the phone spoke very politely and was easy to understand. Resolved the problem fast so thank you :)

Ordered online at 19.11 got a email telling me you order was out for delivery and would be delivered by 20.26 called the restaurant at 20.30 to be told my order was just being cooked now and if I picked it up it would still be 20 minutes, asked about a previous order which I was missing a special curry and was told I would be given on next order to be told now that there was nothing wrote down about it and the man who I spoke to attitude is so rude will never order from here again

Tasty food. The portions are very large. The time wait for the food to be cooked it was very short. I would definitely recommend this place.

Ordered food online, at 7:17pm, said expected delivery was between 8-8:30. Still waiting for food at 8:45. When I rang all I got was an apology no explination. I had to ask how much longer I'd have to wait was given a vague 10-15mins. that was just after half 8. Will not be ordering from here again and if J hadn't of paid by card I'd have told them not to bother.

Food was tasty. Very large portions we could have reduced the number of dishes ordered. Reasonably priced. We collected at the takeaway yesterday, but we have previously had the food delivered.

Been going regular since I moved into the area two years ago. Never had a bad meal. Best tasting in the area, looks clean inside and fast and friendly service.

Ordered my food and asked to have certain ingredients missing (water chestnuts and peppers) and instead all of the meat was missing too. Went back to get a one with meat wished I hadn't it was disgusting the sauce was basically water very flavourless got thrown in the bin I will not be eating there again
