I tried a sample of the new food and it was excellent and Mark was brilliant and pleasant and helpful.

Don't order Rump steak in Yorkshire Pudding. Steak was scrag ends & very tough, even steak knife would not cut it. Poor value. Too much stuffing

This is a well established family venue and part of a major national chain. The food is uninspired and cook-chill but we often eat here for convenience. Deals can always be had on the food so check for offers and online vouchers. For value this venue is pretty unbeatable. There are advantages in mass produced cook-chill food as it is consistent given the low price. The venue itself is popular and well kept with plenty of space and an area for children to play.

Having visited last month I decided to come for lunch again today and was very disappointed that my vegetarian sausages were very over done, my mash, gravy and peas were stone cold. My grandma had ordered a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw, but when it arrived the waitress said "they put beans on it too hope that's ok". The coleslaw came in a little pot not even half full, looked like it was already half eaten too!! No one came to ask how our food was even when they collected the plates. Very poor service will not return.

We was looked after by Anna. She was by herself and did a brill job. Our party of 11 was so happy with the food we booked for our Xmas meal there.

The Hayride is only about 250 yards away from where we live, hence we are frequent visitors. The menu is no frills basics with vegetarian and one vegan option minimum. We have only ever had one poor meal there, which was refunded; any other complaints have been rectified with a replacement meal. It's not cordon bleu, but sometimes something simpler fits the bill. If there is a slight delay due to being busy, you are always informed. There's a great range of drinks, including various teas and Costa coffee. Plus there's play facilities for children, which don't impact on other drinkers and diners. What's not to like, really?

Food is served very quickly. Nice if you are in a hurry. Staff are friendly. Food is reasonable. Nice and easy.

Generic menu and feel, the food was keenly price and there was a good selection. Staff were friendly. I did notice the food (inc items from the grill) came out quickly which raises suspicions on how pre-cooked it is. Good selection of beers and wines and an indoor and outdoor play area. The pub is good all round, the entertainment value for kids is above the food. I would return however.

Come here quite frequently, couldn't really fault it to be honest. You get what you pay for! Prices are reasonable and it is a family friendly environment with a children's play area!

Pulled into the car park, gorgeous Sunday, fully expected car park to be full, but no, loads of parking spaces, not usually a good sign. The wife and I ordered sirloin steak each, medium rare and medium, not long waiting, we both enjoyed our meals, I took picture half way through my meal, just after the waitress came to see if our meals where ok, we've been here a few times, never had any real complaints, once we waited quite a while for meals.

Chosen for an afternoon meal after checking the menu on the website beforehand. I ordered a mixed grill with medium steak. Our other meal was the impressive looking Cod Father as seen on the menu!! Our meals arrived very quickly - alarm bells instantly started ringing. The steak was rare but the rest of the grill was acceptable. As I did not want the chips with the grill I asked for a salad as an alternative - I received some chopped lettuce with tomato, there could have been some pepper but it was very finely cut and hard to determine, certainly not very appetising. The Cod Father was nothing short of a child's portion of soggy battered dried rubbery fish with some bland looking frozen chips, accompanied by a small splodge of mushy peas. We were asked if the meal was alright and of course it was not. An alternative meal was offered but the appetite had gone by this time and was declined. A partial refund was given (which we did not ask for). Always be aware of a meal landing on your table too soon after ordering, it may not be as freshly cooked as you thought. I expected better for the price and no I won't be visiting this chain again.

This is a pub which caters for everyone from children to pensioners. There is a two for £10 option on the menu and quite a good selection of food, our being well cooked and presented. Friendly staff completed the visit

My husband and I visited for dinner on a week night. There were a few diners present, but the place was far from full. We ordered drinks and a main course each. The rare steak I ordered was closer to well done. My husband ordered the ribs which were tender and the portion was massive, but they weren't as hot as they should have been. It was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

very friendly catered for my Son's special dietary requirements nothing was too much trouble. Nice food a good choice of menu Super fast friendly service. Highly recommended would definitely visit again.

Good 2-4-1 offers. Burgers can be a little dry but otherwise the food is very yummy and so are the puddings. Good service from the friendly staff and not waiting a long time for our meals to arrive. Would recommend and will be going again.

After a days Christmas shopping at Ferry Port we decided to stop for a meal instead of cooking at home.Popped into the Fayre & Square and we were both disappointed with our seperate meals. My husband requested from the menu garden peas as I did but we were served proccessed tin peas. Pointing this out to the waiteress who agreed they looked horrible would mention it to the manager.The chicken I ordered with a BBQ caramelised sticky sauce turned out to be from a cheap bottle and tasted of chemicals on chicken that was tough like it was overcooked or reheated a few times previously. We knew by the atmosphere that it would be no use complaining and as you will have guessed the manager or did anyone else adressed our original comment about the yellow processed peas without flavour. As we left two of the staff deliberately said good bye in an antagonistic manner - we would never go back or eat in this sub standard place again. Having mentioned this to my friend - she told me she had a similar experience in the one in Scunthorpe and would never return again even if she was starving.If the managers read this they will more than likely dismiss it as they could not be bothered.
