We got the food, 2 drinks and games package and it was brilliant! The staff were all lovely, the drinks and food were incredible! Like elevated funfair foods. We had the best time 🤍

We had an absolutely amazing time here. All the staff were so fun, friendly and welcoming. Tasha was very encouraging despite how not good I was at some of the games! Prices were super reasonable. You felt welcome to take your time and enjoy everything. Love it and will be back! 😁😍🥳

We came to Edinburgh for a city break and we seen online about Fayre Play. This was honestly our favourite part of our break. It was really fun and something different we’ve never done before. The staff really go above and beyond and are so lovely and genuinely want you to have a good time, special mention to Tasha, who was completely amazing and made our night. The cocktails are great also! We had an amazing time and will definitely recommend to anyone coming to Edinburgh.

We went for a work night out and had a very good time the staff were really good especially Natasha who was very helpful.

It was very busy as you'd expect in December but the staff managed as best they could. Some nicer than others, thr girl on hook a duck was so rude and quite snappy but the others we encountered were lovely. Especially the one with the pink hair.

Excellent Day! Booked as a large group and they were extremely accommodating, we had a staggered arrival due to the volume of the group but again they handled that well. Games where a great bit of fun with the drinks on offer good and bar service quick also.

We were welcomed by Siobhan at the front desk she was lovely and took time to explain the layout of the venue, how the games/tokens/vouchers worked and was kind enough to even give us the advice of popping our food orders in as it was a busy night and would mean we wouldn’t be waiting too long. The food and drinks were lovely we had quite a large party so most things from the menu had been ordered and everyone enjoyed their selection. The novelty cocktails are a really lovely touch and I was pretty tickled to get a giant star lolly with my clown star martini. The festive package was really great value for money and this is a really great shout for a night out that’s a bit different. I’ll definitely come back here! Thanks again Siobhan 🖤

We had great fun, the games were well organised. The service at the bars and for food was not great, long wait times, a burger took an hour to come. Apparently they had a new chef so hopefully it will improve

Despite being half impossible to win, the games are very fun and the competitive edge is certainly worth going for in a group. Staff are overall grumpy, unhelpful and rude. We were told on arrival when we wanted to order food that we would need to wait half an hour to order, no problem. However when we ordered the food, it took an hour to come to our table (which was cold on arrival and all it was was frozen chicken tenders and chips). We just received a smart comment from a worker when we complained. This is a place you should go for the games and get out after as soon as possible.

Puzzled by this place and the reviews it has. Perhaps I've been spoiled by going to the "real" version of what this place is trying to emulate (FairGame in Canary Wharf). The whole place really reminded me of the scenes from the infamous Fyre Festival in that the polished branding and imagery online is such a far cry from what you get in reality. The games themselves seem like they were slapped together as cheaply as possible from random bits of wood, string and whatever else was available at the time. Most of it is quite visibly knackered. Some games are totally skewed as the balls/equipment you use from participant to participant differ greatly in weight/feel/condition. We were given a token to play "whack a mole" - the only vaguely modern game in the place but then got downstairs and it wasn't working. When there are now lots of experiential concepts like this that are fully digital (think flightclub, sixes cricket, toca social) this just seems like a bit of a rip off to be charged so much to play games you could play yourself if you had just a few balls and some tin cans/buckets. It needs much more polish, lighting, sound and visual feedback to impress. When we visited on a weekend the atmosphere was non-existent with hardly anyone there which didn't help. Maybe we were just unlucky with that, but the whole experience felt like we'd gone into a mate's garage and weren't doing much more than lobbing tennis balls at some empty tins of beans. It all seemed like something that would very much entertain an 8-year old but given that it's aimed at adults it all feels a bit cringey.

Great night out activity, we had so much fun trying the different games and even got enough stamps for a duck. The staff really make this place great!

Great evening at Fayre Play, had so much fun in all the games, and the drinks are very nice and original. The staff were very friendly and attentive, it probably helped that we went at off-peak times. They really have their strategy down by you getting worse at the games as you drink XD

We went to Fayre Play for our work Christmas party, and I can honestly say it was one of our best yet! The staff were wonderful, so helpful and the drinks/food were so tasty. Thank you to all involved in our fab night!

Had a great date with my boyfriend here. The staff a super helpful and it's a great atmosphere so even when you're standing in a queue you can have some fun with other guests. Food smelled amazing though we didn't have any as we had a meal booked afterwards.

We went for my sister’s hen do and had a brilliant time! The cocktails were yummy and loved all the games! It was a great way to get everyone talking to each other and set a fantastic tone for the rest of the day :)

We literally cannot stress enough how amazing this place is. Central location and easy to find which was great! We did not book but would recommend as it gets quite busy but I’m not surprised because the staff were incredible, friendly, good knowledge and fun. We actually won a good few prizes and the games were phenomenal and really fun. The place was made by the friendly atmosphere created by staff you were all amazing!!!! Thanks for making our one year anniversary so special.

I recently visited Fair Play in Edinburgh and had the most amazing time! The carnival games were so much fun, with a great variety of challenges that kept us entertained for hours. The staff were friendly and energetic, adding to the overall excitement. The atmosphere was vibrant, the cocktails and drinks were fantastic and the games were both challenging and rewarding, making it the perfect spot for a group of friends, family or date night. We left feeling exhilarated and already planning our next visit! Highly recommend Fair Play for anyone looking for a fun, interactive experience in Edinburgh!

Amazing fun and staff where lovely, they're fun spirit and the way they interact with customers really makes the experience memorable. Everyone had great fun. The food and drinks was nice but was expensive.

Overall the time there was great. I feel a few things that could help the overall experience would be for the games downstairs to have clear markers for lines as it can get crowned.

Love this place, brilliant games and drinks are nice. It’s a bit too difficult to win anything, could be made a little bit easier so you have a chance of winning smaller prizes at least but great fun, I wish you had one in Manchester

We had planned on doing food and drinks but left it too late so we just paid entry and had a drink each :) The prices for packages seemed very reasonable since we spent a lot more on other tours and attractions in the city. The games were really fun and I was relieved that we picked a quiet night so we didn’t have to queue at all. The staff both upstairs and downstairs were really friendly and helpful even though we were the last customers and they probably had a long shift! So that was much appreciated, we didn’t feel rushed one bit. The drinks were good, definitely would have liked to try more. Decor was nice and inviting. We didn’t win a duck but wasn’t surprised haha I did win a pink Santa hat so I was satisfied with that. We were visiting from abroad but if we happen to be back, we would definitely return with friends.

Brilliant staff but real issue with overcrowding, we were waiting 20 minutes at each game and left early. Drinks are expensive - even by Edinburgh standards - and the atmosphere was poor, it was like you were playing some games in your local village hall. Great concept and good people, a bit of investment and fine tuning and I'd go back

Think we went on an off day but we didn’t have a great time. We were surprised with how different it looked in person to how it looks online. Not a great selection of drinks. Staff were quite engaging though but do think some customers might prefer to get on with it rather than stand about and wait for the staff to start and explain the games. We went on a night it was dead and had to wait about so can’t imagine what it would be like if it gets busy.

I visited Fayre Play on Halloween. Pros; • Staff were lovely. Very welcoming. Couldn’t have been nicer Cons; • It looks much better in pictures than it does in person • Half of the games were faulty/damadged • I didn’t like having the staff hover over me as I played each game (I understand this was necessary in some games but it just wasn’t for me) • There wasn’t much of an atmosphere as there were only two other groups there. I don’t know if it was just an off day as I have seen other reviews saying it was busy. In conclusion, I wouldn’t return. You are supposed to play each game twice but we ended up leaving without doing so as we weren’t enjoying it.

Went on a Friday so was very busy. It isn’t explained well enough by staff what you’re supposed to do. There wasn’t enough staff for all the games so you spend more time waiting for someone to set the game up or tell you what the rules are. Took ages to order food and even longer for it to arrive.. to the wrong table. When it did come best burger and fries I’ve ever had. Would honestly come again just for the food. The drinks are quirky and unique and all come with something fun like a packet of sweets or a rubber duck. Bring this down to England and I will be sure to visit! Not worth the price by the way, £80 for two people was not worth it.

Didn't have the food. The cocktails were okay. Was great fun playing the games. Quite high scores needed to get any stamps to win the ducks. Would defo go back though.

We didn’t have food so can’t comment on it but had a great time nice atmosphere friendly helpful staff and fun games providing something different from a normal day out to the pub would definitely recommend great way to start off your day out .

Nice and original place for starting your night out with friends. Games are a lot of fun, specially if you are a group. Staff are amazing. However, hopefully soon they have an overthink about the place as the vibe is not quite yet a high standard.

Drinks are great but they take ages to make so if there’s a queue you’re screwed. Games are obviously rigged as it’s a fairground theme, but some some of the sensor are literally broken. I counted my basketball hoops and scored 29 but it thought I did 25 (losing me a stamp). The sensor for the gun game is also dodgy. Some games are not fun as they are totally impossible like the fish and calton hill ones. Don’t come expecting a prize, only 6 of the 10 games are skill-based.

Such a great wee place to have fun playing some carnival games!! We bought the package deal for £38.50 and it was great! Definitely worth the money, drinks were good sizes and measures and the games were so much fun! The staff were all lovely and explained everything so well! Will definitely be back for more fun ✨

We had so much fun today!! It was honestly the highlight of our day!! All of the games were super fun and was a great start to our night out. Would be an amazing place for a group of people or a party but would even recommend for a date! A great place for a work outing or a hen or stag party. Our bride got a free drink voucher which was lovely. The staff are very friendly. Games are great fun. It's over 18s only but I think they would make a fortune if they did teen birthday parties earlier in the day! I would come back here for a date night. Very close to tram bus station etc.

For a MINIMUM of fifteen pound a person entry fee you'd think the games are at least reasonably winnable but NO. 99% of these games are completely, and I mean completely, rigged against you. The amount of points required to win keeps goin up - as evidenced by how they keep rubbing out the stated points you need to earn to get a duck stamp out and writing in higher and higher points on the signs. The required points for a stamp is ridiculous and not achievable, taking all the fun out of it. The game where you throw a ball at a can to knock it over is made completely unwinnable when cans will get knocked VERY hard by the ball and come back up like they haven't been touched at all. A big waste of money and I am telling everyone and anyone I know to avoid coming here. The only thing good about this place are the staff, who were very lovely and, I suspect, underpaid. I am posting a review on every single site I know. Please consider this a formal complaint. This is not even mentioning the extortionate prices for drinks and beverages - which are NOT covered in the fifteen pound!

Incredible little spot, great idea and a small menu served to perfection. House fries alone are to die for but I'd recommend the Fire Eater all day long.

Me and my partner had an amazing time! It’s a really fun place to go to and worth the money. We didn’t have time to try and food or cocktails but will be coming back!

Whilst it was fun, it is small and would suggest going when quiet as you may need to wait around. Overall it was good and would go again.

Went with my girlfriend during the evening and it was so much fun! The staff were amazing at explaining the games and keeping us right. They had great options for non alcoholic beer, which was much appreciated and the mocktails were especially delicious! The staff definitely made the night better and had a good laugh with us. Would definitely recommend as a night out with a big group or even with a significant other.

Great evening, a very small limited menu but the food was beautiful. Games were great fun and despite our poor efforts we did not win a plush duck. We bought the food and drinks package which was good value based on the menu prices however I think the package should be 3 drinks instead of the 2 if you are drinking mocktails. The only downfall for us was the drinks menu. Being particularly fussy drinkers my friend had 3 of the cocktails and never really enjoyed any of them. I had the one mocktails which was ok but again there wasn't a huge selection. I would have preferred more classic cocktails such as woo woo, sex on the beach and purple rain etc. but again were just fussy and that's personal preference. Since we didn't win a duck. My duck obsessed friend did purchase a plush duck which were glad we could still do.

What an amazing place! Although I didn’t manage to win but the atmosphere and customer service are a very high level! Definitely a place to visit, we will be back!

First time here and have to say it was amazing, great atmosphere and really fun games! Our fayre pal Brett was really cool, down to earth and helpful during our time. Didnt get the chance to try out the food as kitchen was closed at the time i was there but nevertheless i would highly recommend to everyone and I'll be back again soon, need to win that big duck!

Great fun, had a blast with a couple of friends. Staff all really friendly and enjoy some banter. Games are nearly impossible to win (unrealistic targets in every game) but we only went for the fun and not to win a duck so had a blast.

bouncers unfriendly, drinks cheap and mostly overpriced sugar syrup. the interieur is pretty cheap as well, toilets dirty and two of three broken. pretty neat for all the visiting social welfare recipients though!

Perfect date night for me and my husband.

Went with 2 friends on Saturday afternoon. We were really excited to try it but ended up feeling a bit disappointed with how much waiting around there was. I was under the impression that because you pre-booked a time slot, there would be a certain capacity for each session which would make sure there wasn’t too long waiting to play each game. We had to queue at least 5 minutes for every single game, and a few of them it was longer. When we decided to go and get a drink to get a break from queuing, the line to order at the bar was even longer! We went downstairs to see if it was quieter, there were still queues for all the games and the bar was shut despite staff upstairs telling us they were about to open the downstairs bar. It took another 15 minutes to get a drink before we re started queuing again to play games. We missed out on playing 2 of the games because there just wasn’t enough time due to how busy it was. There doesn’t seem to be anyone policing people staying only their 90 minute slot which is maybe why it was so ridiculously busy but to be honest it kind of ruined the experience. I mentioned to a member of staff how long it was taking to queue for each game and they said it was just a bit busy because it was a Saturday - surely this shouldn’t make a difference as each time slot should have the same capacity ??? The games were fun but having to wait around so much was a drag. The staff were nice but having more would have probably helped matters. Probably won’t be back.

First time visiting and it was great fun, the games especially on the top floor are great. We did the package that allowed a meal and two drinks along with two rounds of games. It was well worth the money. The only thing I would say is that sometimes there is a wait for games sometimes because there are no staff for each game or although there are four slots per game sometimes it was only two people at a time that were taken. Food was tasty but did have a wee bit of a wait. Definitely a place I'd go back to was good fun and good value.

First time here was the absolute best! The staff are amazing, with the best attitude and are super friendly. The venue itself is buzzing with great energy! The games are super fun and keep you busy for so long. I loved the drinks, each cocktail has its own twist, so there’s something for everyone. What I personally loved was the Photo Booth! It was such a fun time and super affordable. Oh, and there are lockers for people to use for their stuff and they were free. Aside from all that fun stuff, there’s also the fact that this place is a photo goldmine! Opportunities for cute shots literally everywhere.

Went here at the start of June for my birthday. I heard from a friend that she had a great time so myself and my partner tried it out. It was a fantastic night out!! The drinks are incredible and very well presented. A special shout out to Chloe who was working on the bar - fantastic customer service and a genuinely lovely person. If you want a fun activity before a day sesh definitely give this place a shot. Very very good value for money.

Every time we come to Edinburgh we always come to Fayre play and we finally got the BIG DUCK!! Always have an amazing time, drinks and food are great and the staff are always cheering us on!

From the moment we walked in, Chloe, our amazing host, made us feel right at home. Her warm and engaging personality set the tone for the evening. She explained the games thoroughly and kept us entertained with her chatty and funny demeanour. The pricing is excellent value for money. For a reasonable fee, you get to play 8 different games, each with 2 rounds. This setup gave us plenty of time to enjoy a variety of games without feeling rushed. Definitely a place we'll be returning to again!

A fantastic, fun place to come with friends. The drinks are great and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. The food was awesome, I'm always super happy to see gluten free options! I would highly recommend if you're looking for something to do in the city.

Great fun but hard! Staff are very nice. The only thing I can really comment on was the finish of the place. It could do with a bit of polish.

Would definitely recommend a visit. Games were a good laugh, there wasn't massive ques for the bar or games. Next time I will get the food and drinks option.
