Very good pizza, very little waiting, quite good prices compared to other pizzerias here in Edinburgh, highly recommended for those looking for a good Neapolitan pizza

Fantastic pizza with great service. Our waitress Anneleise was juggling a helluva lot (the wifi was down so reservations weren't showing) but she did so with efficiency and good humour. Will definitely go back!

I ordered a Pinot Grigio that was listed on the menu. Unfortunately, the server brought out a completely different brand of Pinot Grigio that wasn’t listed, without informing me about the substitution. There was no explanation or communication about the change, which I found disappointing. I understand that things can run out, but I feel it’s important for staff to let customers know if something isn’t available and offer a replacement before serving it.

Truly a pleasant experience. The pizza was good, not to be biased, but you can tell they are Italian. Nothing to say about the service either, fast and friendly, I was served by Danilo who was really approachable, making everything more pleasant.

Told were to sit in an almost empty restaurant, food came very quick , but was under cooked and to be honest tasted terrible ,45 pounds and we were in the restaurant total 20 minutes , pretty poor indeed

After a long hard day watching the rugby we needed a quick bite to keep us going. My very organised wife managed to get a table for 6 at the Salerno Pizza on a very busy Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and professional. We were sat quickly, water provided and drink orders taken. Pizza orders were taken when our drinks arrived, and within 10 minutes we were tucking in, which was excellent. Our group all agreed that the pizzas were delicious, staff excellent and the restaurant had a fun atmosphere. I have no hesitation in recommending if you are looking for a decent pizza, with good service at reasonable price in Edinburgh city centre.

Food is absolutely vile. Uncooked and sloppy.

I still haven't finished eating the pizza, and it must be said that everything is spectacular, from the pizza to the focaccia and above all the great kindness of all the staff, they really make you feel at home. Highly recommended... You are great.

Best pizzeria out of italy, the pasta of the pizza is so light and tasty, the tomato sauce is very fresh. The waiters are funny and kind, one even asked us if we wanted a picture of our group. the place is warm and relaxing. Neapolitan style pizzas with great flavor and very, VERY fast service. The pizzas have a good flavor and their price is quite affordable, they are baked and are thin and soft. It has the Italian philosophy of few ingredients and a lot of flavor. On the bad side, it doesn't have much variety on its menu, it's not an Italian restaurant, it's a pizzeria and that's it. They also don't have any dressings or sauces that you can use. If you want to eat a delicious pizza, quickly and continue with your day, it is for you. If you want a place to eat, have a nice time and have options, variety, desserts, etc. Better look for another place.

In near empty restaurant was told exactly where I had to sit. Quite strange as asked for nice little table and was told "we tell customers where to sit". This would 100% be OK if busy but was 80% empty and felt very odd #awks

It's one of the best pizza places in town. It's a very friendly place, and the server was excellent. I strongly recommend it.

A superb neapolitan style pizza, the buffalo mozzarella is worth the extra cost. Food came out piping hot amazingly quickly considering how busy the restaurant was, our server Anneleise was super efficient and all too happy to accommodate special requests!

Very busy pizzeria. Waited for a while in the queue got asked if we’re waiting for table for 2 then we got completely ignored . Instead the staff prioritised the people behind us completely ignoring our request with visible tables available for 2 people.

Great food, great service, great everything. If you are visiting Edinburgh you have to come to Salerno Pizza. They made our pizza really fast but it might be because we came at 3 o’clock and there was 5 tables token. The climate, wow! The great thing is that there should be no pineapple on pizza. On the sign „Ain’t no Pineapple” I agree Salerno. But to conclude come if your near Edinburgh!

Couldn’t even make it though the door. Ignored by members of staff so couldn’t even sit down. Senior member of staff came over only to collect menus and not greet us, he seemed more interested in setting up new empty tables than sitting anyone at them. Waited for 20min, watched multiple potential customers walk out as they had also been waiting and given up. Not a single customer was seated in the whole 20minutes despite there being 15+ tables free. Atleast 4 members of staff working the tables. Very disappointed.

Based on my experience this place should have a higher rating. The pizza was very good (like very good), service was fast, and it was fairly priced (£8.9 for a margarita, and other pizzas for about £11-£12). This is a true Italian pizza, the dough is out of this world, and you get that beautiful black oven crust on the edges. The margarita with garlic is enough of a reason to come back.

The food was okay, it was very cold. My husband had to return his pizza twice as he had been given the wrong order. When asked for a new one the waitress had came back with a raw dough like pizza. Not impressed! The service was horrid, people were holding the doors open, it brought a cold breeze to me and my husband. There was one particular waitress I wasn’t the biggest fan of. She was continuously rude to me and my husband and was very blunt. She gave a bad, unpleasant energy to me and my husband Richard. I came across a long brown hair found in my rocket and parmesan salad, which was mainly lettuce with a sprinkle of cheese. This is a horrible restaurant, my Richard was extremely ill for days after eating here. We will not be coming back. And will be sure to inform our family and friends!!!!!!

It was the most tasteless soggy pizza I've ever ever eaten! A cheap frozen one from Aldi's is far tastier!

Italian pizzeria on the fourth floor of a shopping center. Neapolitan, delicious, light and super digestible. High quality ingredients and Italian guys all super nice and kind. If you are in the area and want a good pizza to go back to your origins, you are in the right place! Truly top pizza carbonara!

Went here with a few friends one Thursday mid-evening. Servers were kind and very attentive - sometimes overly so (it was quiet so they collected plates overly fast & did hang around the table alot). Very fast service & great food

Party of 3 showed up 1.5 hr before closed and was not allowed to sit at booth that we requested. All 3 pies came out quickly but barely cooked, crust was doughy, cheese barely melted, toppings luke warm. Splitting the check 3 ways by items ordered vs straight dollar amount was made to be a bigger deal than anywhere I’ve ever been. Mall Pizza should have told us what we needed to know. Will NEVER go back! Thumbs down!

Spent 5 minutes stood waiting at the door to be seated. Manager made eye contact with us on more than one occasion, I decided to go take a seat at a table as more customers was now cueing behind us to which we was told to go back and wait to be seated. We decided to go eat else where and I can guarantee that I will never step foot in the place again.

I would not recommend using their delivery services through Deliveroo. Their rider delivered our pizzas to the wrong address, a public cafe and not our hotel. They were not contactable at any point with the number they gave and no refund or compensation was offered by the restaurant or Deliveroo. I would recommend using a business that uses a reputable service like Uber eats.

Food was fine, service was atrocious. The host waved at us from across the room to tell us which table to go to, and then left us to it, didn’t walk with us or even speak to us. We then sat at the wrong table, because for some reason we assumed that the table with 6 settings and not the one with 3 settings was the one he was waving our party of 4 in the general direction of. Of course he then made us get up and move, and told us the table we had sat at was reserved. He and a colleague then pulled it apart and made it up into two tables, before pushing back together into one table again (not sure how he knew it was reserved but clearly didn’t know how many people it was for). The table were were left at was a hastily thrown together one wedged between the waiters’ station and emergency exit, and we were clearly in the way, because the staff were continually pushing past us, without so much as an “excuse me” or a “sorry” when they kicked my 4 year old daughter’s chair. The drinks arrived while I was taking my daughter to the bathrooms and when I came back the waiter had spilled water over my place setting and seat and just left it for me to clean up, apparently without even acknowledging it. Later in the meal, my daughter had stood up from her seat and was standing between our table and the table next to us, and the staff kept pushing past her, once again without so much as an “excuse me”. After the host who had originally waved us unenthusiastically towards a table nearly took her head off with a high chair, I told him off and asked him to please go round the other side of the table next time, where there was plenty of room, rather than pushing past a small child while carrying a heavy piece of furniture. Looking at other reviews here, it seems this place is well regarded, but this was such a bad experience we’ll definitely never be going back. The one saving grace was that they didn’t actually put the optional service charge onto the bill, because that saved me the hassle of asking to have it taken off.

Without a doubt the most farcical eatery I’ve ever ever visited” 40% full with an array of empty tables and a huge queue out the door waiting” very few staff and zero management. Don’t waste your time on this pathetic shambles of a business. It’s evident when you receive a reply like the one below from the business claiming to be the owner they won’t be around long” the restaurant was around 40% occupancy and numerous people queued and left” CCTV would Confirm this to be accurate, no business is able to be successful with such poor arrogant argumentative management.

We really didn't enjoy ourselves very much. The only good thing that I can say is that the service was fast and the pizza was a good size for but other that that, the pizza didn't really taste anything, the sauce was bland and overall just unimpressive the question of people outside also kept holding the door open which led to a terrible cold wind and a cold pizza. Also, I understand that you are busy, but to start setting the table for other customers while we were still at the table getting ready didn't make us feel very valued.

Came in on a week day for a lunch with my heavily pregnant wife. Even with it being December, it wasn't overly busy, still plenty seating left. Stood for 15 minutes at the door waiting to be seated, as did the group behind us (which included an elderly woman not good on her feet). All the staff were aware of our presence, but refused to make eye contact or acknowledge us in any way. They actually served multiple customers already seated right in front of us. Extremely rude and badly run place by the manager, not even getting the basics right. It would be nice to review the food, but it didn't stand a chance of getting that far as we decided to leave. Will not be back.

Vegan cheese available to swap in for any pizza. Melted very well. Dough was absolutely unreal. They also have a dedicated vegan pizza with truffle cream base and veg. Would be nice to have some vegan dips like a vegan mayo. Went on a busy Saturday night and was easy to get a table. Staff were nice, drinks order was wrong but staff were sound about it and offered to replace. Located on top floor of a shopping centre.

We took my mum in-law yesterday, she lives abroad and we wanted to surprise her as she never had a real Italian pizza before. It was perfect, she lived the place, the waiters and of course the pizza as well😊 Thank you for being so amazing every time❤️ Ps.: our 11 months old one also loved the crust, so new pizza-lover is growing now

Food was ok. Pizza 4 cheese was good. Focaccia that they gave to us was already cooked, so no hot, just was setting there waiting for a table. I believe they have a problem with the speedy that they want to work. They rush every single step during the service. The waiters was literally running for copy with all. 20 min for arrive, eat and leave without a thank you or how was everything. I believe they should think about the service as much they think about the food.

Quick efficient service and perfect food

The waiters push you out of the restaurant. They came 3 times in less than 5 minutes and asked if we knew what we wanted to order, then I had barely finished my dinner, and my uncle was still eating they removed my place, then a minute latter without requearing they gave me the bill.

Excellent pizza, friendly and helpful staff

Staff were very unfriendly, and the entire meal was completely rushed, (we were out within 20 minutes) along with the service charge being added without our consent and not being given the option to remove it, despite the receipt and the menu stating it was optional! Furthermore, the food was abysmal to say the least, there was barely any mozzarella cheese on the pizza and it kept falling off the pizza! The toppings were not cooked on the pizza and just put on afterwards which makes me guess there are pre-cooking pizzas and just dumping pizza toppings on afterwards? Which is just completely unacceptable and not at all what we paid for. We also ordered garlic bread that was flavourless and if anything tasted like uncooked garlic. Don’t waste your time going to this place unless you enjoy being treated awfully!

The service was extremely fast, I got my pizza in a very good time! It was delicious too, and the cheese was super stringy!! I didn’t quite like the garlic bread, (it had cheese on it) but it might’ve just been me. The only negative thing I’d say is that the tables are quite close together, but that wasn’t too bad, and overall, the experience was extremely positive!

Very rude waiter, unpleasant tone, (tattoos). The pizza has very minimal amount of sauce( eating very very thin layer of the dough itself)& toppings as well, so we had to order more toppings so we can eat at least what’s called a pizza. The 10% tip is mandatory for this horrible service!!!

The menu is very simple, the prices are very reasonable for a city center. The servers are very friendly and efficient. My pizza was served to me in less than 5 minutes! 3-4 minutes I think. I have never had a fresh pizza so quickly. If you want a quick pizza, this is the place to come.

Pizza was soggy to much tomatoes cheese was thick and greasy to much olive oil crust left a lot to be desired won’t take a chance in there again I like to decide if a service charge is appropriate or not but you don’t get to decide they automatically add it just hope that it goes to the staff and not the greedy owners

The food was good enough for a fast food place and the gluten free base was nice although I do begrudge paying an extra £3 for it because of dietary restrictions beyond my control. My main issue was with the service charge when we visited. When we had the bill, I said we didn't want to pay the service charge which we are well within our rights to do because it is discretionary. The staff member's attitude changed completely. He snatched the bill out of my hand, stormed off, got it removed, came back and dumped it on the table (he almost threw it that's how forceful it was) then left to nicely and politely serve customers who he obviously believed would pay the service charge. When he came back to us, he barely spoke. This is the sort of conduct I would expect from a child, not a fully grown adult whose entire behaviour just solidified the fact that we were right to decline to pay the service charge. We won't be going back because I refuse to be treated in such a manner by anyone, especially when I haven't actually done anything wrong.

We had a great family evening at Salerno Pizza. Our pizzas were tasty and juicy with the right amount of tomato sauce and toppings. I definitely recommend it for the friendly atmosphere and the quality of the ingredients. Thanks to the staff !!!
