More than 5 stars!! Excellent service and the food is incredible. Must try more of the menu because everything is top tier. The perfect place for a big group, casual vibe, drinks, food, cocktails 👌 must try the amazing karaage chicken and bramble cocktails, and some of the best pizza in Edinburgh!

This bar is now very different to the Italian run pizza place it was a year ago but the new management is awesome too; giving it a good, friendly, local vibe. I love dropping in for a drink and some fusion snacks and will return for a board game night soon.

Top notch grub, Japanese inspired pizza which is a nice twist on things, but if you want a classic they do have a couple of options too. Hot dog is great as well as the chips. Enjoy the pint and a slice for a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff, manager always happy to chat and very welcoming. The music is a bonus too. Would recommend.

Turned up for a collection at the correct time told me a bit half an hour away when I suggested they amend the collection time so it would be ready. I started getting attitude from the staff. If you enjoy people being rude to you, I suggest you go here.

Went to collect from here and the staff were rude and told me it would be a half an hour wait despite me being bang on time for the collection. If you like rude staff give this place ago if not there is plenty other places.

Local gem I love this place. The owner/manager is always warm, welcoming and chill, and the pub space feels creative but classic. I've experienced generous pours with reasonable prices and the Japanese-inspired food is delicious (and quite allergey-friendly). I love the good music choices, too, played at a decent volume where I can still chat with friends. If you want to feel like an Edinburgh local, who visits the gem of pub at the end of your street every week, this is it.

The food was great and the service was excellent, the bartender made my friend a surprise mocktail on the spot that she loved, and the ambiance was lovely and chill

The service was phenomenal and the owner working behind the bar was so kind and made the experience so much better! On top of that the food was amazing. This is the best food I have had in my trip in Scotland. I 100% recommend!!

This place is ABSOLUTELY amazing!! We found this randomly while looking for a place to get drinks. We weren't expecting much especially because it was the first night of the Eurocup but the atmosphere was so welcoming and a great place to get drinks with friends to talk and have conversation. It’s got an anime theme with vendor street style food. However, don’t let that stray you away because everything we have gotten here is delicious and has such good flavor. The drink selection is fantastic and while there is a cocktail menu they still allow you to order off menu cocktails/drinks. Although, the owner is the highlight of the place. He was beyond kind and loved holding a conversation. I’ve never had such good experience anywhere. I’ve been here with friends twice in one week, which I hope will put into perspective how great this place is.

Very cute place. The menu is small so I've tried all the vegetarian options and am happy to report that they're all super good. Friendly atmosphere.

This bar / restaurant rocks! Seriously! Over the course of my time living in Edinburgh, I visited High Dive up to 5 times each week. Definitely worth a visit. The pizza is delicious, and very reasonably priced - there is a 20% student discount too. The menu has unique options that you won't find elsewhere. The music is nice. Antonello, the owner, is lovely, caring, passionate, and cool. This venue is a reflection of him!

Stopped in for lunch and was blown away with the experience - great everything! We enjoyed a mad italian pizza with a caprese salad 🤩. Try the recommended cocktail with Malfy Grapefruit Gin (can’t remember the name - gin, white wine, and soda)!

Found this place while on holiday in Edinburgh. Staff made us feel so welcome and wet very funny. Cheese burger and chips was superb, and pizzas looked good too. Overall very pleasant experience. 5 stars. Try it out if you are near.

The moment you step through the door, you're welcome with the great smell of freshly baked pizza and top-notch service. Great modern clean bar/restaurant with super friendly staff. We’ve eaten here twice now and the pizzas are excellent. It states, like many places, that it’s ‘dog friendly’ so we brought our daughter’s dog with us. They are incredibly dog friendly and genuine with it… all the staff spoke to the dog and water was quickly provided. I love this place and can’t wait to go back!

This is an adorable pub with great pizza and fantastic service. This is a fun place near the University of Edinburgh. We were so excited to find this gem.

The High Dive Bar is a wonderful bar and restaurant. Antonello & Genato from Italy own this wonderful establishment and it certainly shows in the food, drink, and cool vibe atmosphere. I had the Margherita Pizza. It was marvelous. The crust was perfect - crisp with a nice char; soft and chewy on the inside. Obviously, a well-crafted dough. All ingredients are first-rate and perfectly baked. My wife had the panini with mortadella & cheese. The good quality meat, cheese, & bread along with chips was delicious. The owners are attentive, friendly, and courteous. We highly recommend the High Dive Bar. When we visit Edinburgh again, it will be our first stop. Love from Lee & Jill from L.A.,CA

Came home for a lunch hour with my partner but had forgotten to buy food. No worries, there's that nice looking pizza place around the corner that offers student deals. Good GOD was it delicious!! Ordered their napule pizza (italian fennel sausage, tenderstem broccoli, creme of parmesan on a napolitan base) and the experience was religious. Didn't buy groceries after that - planning to go again today.

Visiting Edinburgh and stumbled upon the High Dive…so glad we did. Seriously incredible pizza. Some of the best crust I have ever had, as well as some very interesting combinations. And prices were very reasonable with pleasant staff and good ambiance. Highly recommended!

This is a great place! It is very clean. We received wonderful service. It’s in a very pretty tucked-away part of Edinburgh. Worth checking out!

As soon as we enter the bar the waiters were rude to as. I order a withe Russian and they didn't follow the recipe. I asked for my money back and got it reluctantly from the rude manager (a guy with beard and glasses).

Very expensive for an aperol spritz - £13.50 which was not advertised and a few things needed to be removed from the bill. Food is nice but disappointed by price. Went a few years ago and loved it so disappointed this time

I was curious to see how it evolved since I visited as Maltings many years ago. A late night cocktail bar but still a good place for a quite, late pint. Very good DJ.

Came here for lunch with the family today. We’re staying nearby and thought it looked pretty cool. Loved the decor and ambience inside, and our server was super helpful and friendly. Good choice of pizzas on the menu (the 99 with pepperoni, fennel sausage and burrata was incredible), dirtier fries were excellent too. We didn’t *need* desserts after all that food but we went for it anyway, and OMG, the Nutella Calzone was absolutely amazing, it’s worth making a trip for. I’d love to come back here one evening and have some cocktails/beers with the pizza, will definitely seek this place out on our next trip to Edinburgh.

Went for drinks and a pizza. The pizza was alright but it was the location that threw me off. Dodgy surroundings. Although it was Sunday night I feel like they could have waited to pack up until after we left and we didn't even get napkins or seasoning with the pizza.

Came her for an impromptu lunch. Ordered a pizza from the special menu - expertly cooked and superb flavours. Staff are friendly, welcoming and warm. The restaurant has a great fun atmosphere with inside and outside seating. Quick service and covid safe - couldn’t ask for anymore!

We needed to fuel up before doing the Arthur’s seat walk, found the High Dive and decided to go in for pizza. Had the most amazing stone fired pizza, great food, great owner and great service! Would definitely recommend- very good value for such wonderful food and service! Also felt very safe with the COVID precautions

The High Dive are open for take away pizza and drinks, and have a few socially distanced tables outside (self service, with disinfectant on each table to clean with). We had the haggis pizza which was amazing, the best pizza I’ve had in ages (including pre lockdown). The other options looked great as well, some quirky and some more normal. The menu is quite small at the moment, understandably, but there will be something for everyone including veggies. Good prices too- our 12 inch pizza was £8.50 and was enough for two of us. The staff were friendly and the pizza was made very quickly. I felt really safe with the dining set up, the tables are well spaced and there is disinfect and hand sanitizer available. It was so lovely to have a little slice of relative normality. There are only 3 tables, due to limited pavement space and I imagine it could be quite popular. You could always take your food over to the meadows for a picnic if the tables are full.

Cool little pub, however the pizza is an after thought. I’m always apprehensive about these pubs with pizza ovens. It’s one or the other, in this case the pizza suffered. No rise in the pizza crust, and air pockets throughout the pizza, not enough cheese, on a positive note, a delicious garlicky sauce!! Should be a 6 minute wait for a pizza not 30, let me know next time and sort your dough out!!

Part of the Civerinos Food Club. It’s a great wee pub which provides a large selection of pizzas, sides and drinks. The cocktails are amazing and the decor is stylish and comfortable.

Here you can eat one of the best pizza in Edinburgh, the menu is not very long and with mix of ingredients really incomprensible for an Italian, but the pizza Margherita is really good, in a cozy place and a fast friendly service

First time here, Friday, at five...quiet at moment...I had a pizza here which was lovely, pepperoni and Italian sausage...that, and a pint of Amstel, £13.50...cool decor, cool beats ... definitely worth checking out. All good.

Had to wait 40 minutes for the pizza, they said they had to prioritise the deliveroo, which I personally don’t think you should do. Music is also super loud but the pizza was fairly priced for when you do get the pizza, the server was also lovely.

My husband and I came to the High Dive to take advantage of an ongoing promotion, but the staff and service were so good that we'll absolutely be returning. Friendly staff and a fun & welcoming atmosphere, the menu has some great veggie options (and they offer breakfast pizzas!) Excited to return and work our way through the menu.

Booked a table for my partners 30th birthday just before Christmas. The High Dive couldn’t have been a better place, there was no Christmas menus and no Christmas decorations. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been better. We will definitely be back again! Thanks High Dive!

Nice, friendly and very helpful staff. Portion sizes are also quite big. We chanced upon this place on our way to Holyrood Distillery. Pizzas, Chips, Drinks or anything you order will be served, with love and care.. We are surely visiting this humble big hearted restaurant every time we visit Edinburgh

Went along to this place on the recommendation of friends and it lived up to their very positive comments. Great, imaginative pizzas, interesting sides, good choice of drinks, and all at a reasonable price. Friendly atmosphere, and although they don't take bookings (except for large groups) we didn't have to wait for a table despite the fact that it was buzzing! Slightly off the beaten track, but well worth a visit.
