Favourite Fried Chicken in Tendring

My wife is not well and not eating, the only thing she likes is your chicken and chips. 4 pieces of chicken, a portion of chips, and coleslaw for under a tenner, and a happy wife, and an even more grateful husband. Thank you

Went here a few months ago and it was lovely so decided to go again. The chicken tasted as if it was cooked the day before, it was very dry and hardly any taste. The portions seemed yo have shrunk. Overall it was horrible, won't be going there again.

Great fast food always tasty and the staff though busy are friendly. I prefer this to the colonel to be honest. Great food. I highly recommend.

Once again gave it another go. After all previous visits and home deliveries it was guaranteed that the reheated shells of what were once chips would be packaged up for us. Truly awful. Walking past I fancied some chicken as it’s always good but have stopped getting chips. On ordering I thought I might politely ask if I could have freshly cooked chips and not the ones that are reheated to nothing. I explained they had been inedible in the past. She was very nice and said no problem. I sat and waited for my food but was happy knowing I’d have good chips. Oh no, on getting home I had the same bag of absolute crap as always. So basically my wait for new chips was all false Christ knows what she was doing. Absolutely inedible hard shells of nothing. This happens no where else I have ever been. Shame on you. Chicken no complaints but throw the old chips away please stop reheating them. They are fries and will not reheat well.

Chicken was dry, hard and inedible!!! I ate the chips and all 6 pieces of chicken went in the bin!! This place used to be nice and chicken used to always be fresh! Will not be returning!

two sundays running.. no ribs at `12.10 when they just opened! went back an hour later and no fillet of fire! thought id try again on bank holiday monday..... had to wait 25 minutes for chicken at 12.30!! why open for lunchtime if you arent going to cook any food?

Gave it another go as it had just reopened since lockdown. When it’s right, for me it’s better than KFC. Oh well disaster chips again. The chicken was good and nearly always no complaints there. The chips though were reheated so many times they were just oily shells. No potato left inside, awful. They have been this way the last three times ordered. Obviously unless you are very very lucky to get fresh chips all they do is keep banging the old ones back in the fryer. If the chips have had it throw them away. It’s pennies.

use this place on a regular basis not as good as kfc then none of them are but pretty close good food fast delivery never had a bad one yet will continue to use very friendly staff

I made an order online for favourite chicken, after waiting almost an hour I decided to phone up and ask if they knew how long it would be. I Was shocked to find out they hadn’t received my order even though I had paid, when I explained I had paid and could prove it with a receipt from PayPal I was told there was nothing they could do unless I wanted to pay again. I have been instructed to wait until Monday when head office opens and take it up with them. Mortified about this experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Coating on the chicken was very tasty although the corn on the cob was not very nice (probably sat there for a long while) chicken tasted fresh though and chips were yummy. Will return

I must have been 4 times this week and asked for no chips and a possible substitute (mostly accommodating) as I am not a chip person, however the fries are lovely too when I can have them. The chicken coating is delicious and I prefer this to the well known brand!! Perfectly cooked and hot!! Yum yum!! Will keep returning !! Recommend if you like fresh and tasty chicken!

A large order was placed and it arrived fairly quick I was the only person to have the wing it meal with a coleslaw side. It seemed ok but oh dear me did I suffer for 24 hours. Was really ill could only have been the chicken as that’s all I had. Won’t order from their again.

Ordered delivery online and missed the deadline by 5 minutes without realizing it. Received a call from a horrible woman who told me I shouldn't have ordered and it's my fault. Was told she can't give me a refund because the manager's not in but he'll do it the next day (today). I asked her to make sure he calls me too. No refund given and no phone call. So they've taken my money and my food and don't care at all. Horrible, horrible people who don't have an ounce of customer service.

Ordered a selection to try because I've just moved here and not been impressed with takeaways so far. Food was delivered way ahead of time, nice and hot and I loved the chicken wings. I wish there was an option for sweet chilli sauce to coat the wings in because that would just be amazing. Among other things one of the items I ordered was the chicken sampler meal, which is £5.99 and comes with a piece of fried chicken, two wings, some chicken popcorn, a cripsy fillet strip, fries and a choice of drink OR side (beans or coleslaw). The piece of chicken was huge, and everything was tasty, but for that amount of food for £6 is incredible value for money. I was impressed, my mum was impressed, and we will definitely be ordering from here again.

This doesn't come near to a KFC, we had a box full of bones!! Terrible chips, what a waste of money!!

This place used to be half decent but the last time was utterly poor and made me feel ill for 36 hours. Avoid.

I prefer fried chicken from here than McDonald's it's not to greasy The staff there are lovely down to earth people and the price is good .5 stars well done

Clacton used to have 2 KFC, now there's only 1 & it's outside of the town center. This is the only place to get good chicken in town.

very fillin g and satisfying i have never had tummy upset from there staff are clean and polite food is always fresh to die for if i fancy a side its either coleslaw corn on the cob or beans i think i will have a dessert next time yum my

The chicken here shames kfc, great quality meaty well cooked chicken. Go for the fillet of fire for tasty burger. Staff always helpful and friendly. Only down point is choice of drinks poor.

Well where do i start. I placed an order for home delivery and was told it would be 45mins or sooner. 3 phone calls and an hour and a half later it turns up. My chicken burger came with no top bun they used 2 bottoms as the bun. No drink which i ordered and the chips were soggy and luke warm at best. I would stay away from this franchise of favourite chicken as its not worth the disappointment you will suffer.

This is the best chicken fast food take away in town it always tastes the same every time I buy it and very enjoyable I've told all my friends about it plus the price is good .

We ordered a medium mixed kebab (doner, shish, chicken & kofte) & large fries. The fries were £2.00 and we're oily, over cooked and tasted like cardboard, however there was a lot of them. The kebab cost £8.30 and was small for the price, over cooked (burnt!) all tasted the same, the pitta was dry. This place used to be OK, based on tonight's experience it is terrible! The telephone customer service was pretty awful too.

struggled to find anything we wanted to eat in Clacton fast food wise, came across Favourite off the top end of high street. had the burger meal + burger was freshly made chicken was tasty and hot, even after the short walk back to b & b came with coleslaw and drink and piece of chicken

we use Favorites as a treat and have just recently discovered that you can order and pay online now too. Usually the food is nice, but this time it was really cold. I understand that chips can sometimes get cold, but everyone's chicken and my fillet burger was cold all the way through - not cold like 'fridge' cold, but 'cold enough to have to heat everything up in the oven before we could eat it' cold! It's a shame because we do only buy it as a treat and this time it was ruined!It certainly wasn't freshly cooked.....Think it had been sitting in the warmers for a while!!Such a shame. This chicken is on par with KFC but without the KFC prices....sort it out Favorites or everyone will start using KFC instead!!

Regularly order for home delivery, always quick, fresh hot chicken and the fries are nice too. Good choice of burgers and meal deals.

Ordered for home delivery ribs were horrible, got a family bucket supposed to have 6 pieces was only 5. All very dry pieces with hardly any meat. Would of preferred different types of chicken than all the same.

Food great, delivered hot and tasty, tried the online ordering which was easy. Paid with PayPal secure. It was delivered within 20 mins which was great. Only gripe. Entered our landline telephone number on the booking. And instructions said we would get a call within mins. Of which we did not receive, however the delivery was quick. Would of had 5 stars otherwise.

Used this the other week as a home delivery. Food very well cooked and hot. Staff very polite. Wish i had found this delivery sooner. Only dislike it took some time to be delivered.

As good as Kentucky so If you dont want to have to travel to Kentucky this is a really good place for chicken. Yummy.
