Fausto Coffee in Sunderland

Only stopped off here for coffee n flapjack as we were on a cycle,deffo would return again on the bikes. service was really pleasant and good vibes

I've always enjoyed Fausto. Best coffee and view on the Marina. But today's bacon bagel conjured up by the wonderful Caressa was outstanding and prompted me to leave this review.

Cheese scones are the best I've had in a very long time. Fresh baked and delicious. Staff friendly and welcoming. Just a lovely place to pop along to enjoy a cuppa.

We came today at 11.15am and ordered 3 vegan Breakfast bagels and 3 coffees. Three very dry sausages were delivered and we pointed out the mistake... The waitress told us there were no bagels left and offered no alternatives....A spread on the buns may have helped but the waitress offered nothing to compensate her mistake...She took the order and payment!! An alternative would have sufficed but none was forthcoming..... We have been loyal customers since Faustos opened.....First bad review we have found neccesary....Not put off but we will stick to our vegan cakes in future...

Very good. Excellent cheese scones! Would definitely recommend and will return.

My 2 kids and I dined in this lovely cafe with a group of fellow running friends on a Saturday evening. The pizzas were great and drinks quenched our thirst. Dj played cool music whilst we dined. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were very polite and the food was promptly served. Great ambiance and decor and lighting to suit a chilled out evening. Recommended for those seeking chilled out evenings with family, friends and 4 legged members are welcome too.

Nice place to have a coffee. Not too expensive. Kinda small so it can get a little crowded

My son and 2 of his mates were very impressed with the service and food at lunchtime today. Having cycled from Washington they were more than ready for their pizzas when they arrived.

Nice chilled coffee on a Friday night

Even though extremely busy very accomodating when asking for just toasted halloumi and chilli jam and when served a latte in a paper cup for inside explained I really prefer ceramic or glass cup and they accomodated. Food excellent quality worth the wait and cakes and scones also for eat in or takeaway. Coffee to wake you up. Great atmosphere mix of ages, famalies, cyclists, walkers and people watchers (in a good way) they also serve alcohol and have quiz eves and sometimes ive seen a live singer/guitarist

The pizza has improved significantly. The only con is that their music is blasted on a large speaker, creating it difficult to hear others.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and happy to help and a. Good view of the harbour

My wife found this place on Google maps and after going to a gig on our first visit to Sunderland, we popped here for a morning bite and coffee. It was excellent. Great location next to a lovely beach, the staff were lovely and friendly; the coffee as strong and tasty, and our double egg bagel was heavenly. Gooey yoke and perfectly fried eggs with the best toasted bagel. If you’re in the area drop by, grab a table and relax! We’ll be back again definitely.

Expensive but the best coffee around.

Great little cafe by the beach. Flat white was strong and fu of flavour and the milk was perfect. Great carrot cake and there was plenty of room for me to work on my laptop!

Unfortunately the place seems to be a bit tired, the table was quite dirty and the coffee mediocre, I had an americano which came in what looked like someone's old mug , second time I've been but won't be back again ,

Fausto has always been a firm favourite with me, my family and friends. I have been many times as we live in the area. I'm not sure what happened today, but we ended up leaving after being spoken to very aggressively by a member of staff after we asked if our order would be with us soon. As it happened the till had ran out of till roll it seems and so when this particular senior member of staff had asked if any orders had been missed she was apparently not told our order by other staff. I only know this as we were berated by the staff member like we had something to be sorry for?! So in front of my two young children we were shouted at for not having received our order as the order hadn't been passed to the kitchen. Another member of staff, who is always lovely whenever we've been in before, obviously mortified at what was going on....as were we by the way, told staff to give us a refund for the food which hadn't appeared. I very calmly told her that this was not really what should have happened today and I didn't wish to be spoken to in such an aggressive manner. She apologized profusely and offered a voucher. Unfortunately, by this time we just wanted to get out of there quickly, so as not to be shouted at further or upset the absolutely disrespectful staff member any further. Feeling very let down by Fausto today.

Great little cafe out of the cold wind. Fab cakes, good snacks, and pizza and flatbreads cooked in wood oven were delicious. Wonderful view of harbour and pier

Thinflation gone mad. Coffe was cold and cup was only half. Tasted ok but very expensive for the half measure of flat white. Never again

Called in for pizza, service is slow due to only having one pizza oven. Food is nice would recommend.

Had my grandsons Birthday pizza party here. The food was incredible and the staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want good food in a friendly chilled atmosphere then this is the place for you

Love Fausto. Great atmosphere in the evening, went in Wednesday 12th July for some great pizzas. Lovely staff (a young lad served us- I didn’t catch his name, but he was very attentive and looked after us well). Amazing coffee and staff are definitely a credit to the place.

Visited for the first time with my wife, daughter and daughter’s friend on 04th July 2023. This place is a hidden gem as the location is perfect, right on the Roker beach seafront, just outside Sunderland City Centre. We all had stone baked pizzas and they were just the best I have tasted anywhere! The bases were cooked to perfection and very generous toppings on the Nduja and Pepperoni pizzas. Good selection of drinks too and we went for the 2 cocktails for £12 deal (Aperol Spritz and Bakewell Spritz). Both sit down and takeaway options are available and staff are very friendly. We will be back again next week, that’s for sure!

Love fausto's. Great atmosphere, great food, very dog friendly. Staff are lovely, down to earth and can have a laugh with you. Daniel, cooks the pizzas to perfection and will have a bit of banter whilst doing them. Definitely recommend

Fausto's is simply the best cafe/restaurant/bar on the sunderland seafront. If its coffee & cake, or pizza & prosecco Fausto's is 5*!!! Great staff, great prices, great food and great location!!! Bear, our poodle, loves Fausto's too!!!

Love the pizza, best I've had in england!

We visit Fausto quite often for coffee, lunch or pizza. Regardless of the time of day we always receive great, friendly service and the quality of food and drinks across the board is excellent. The location is great, right on the beach, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating - and it's dog friendly all day and evening. All the food is made fresh to order, there's a lot of thought went in to both the day menu and the pizza menu to make the choices varied and different from "the norm". There are ample choices as a vegetarian, and again you can tell there has been thought put into the menu choices to offer tasty, varied options.

Initial appearance is that it's a great venue with great cakes. It is anything but We have just stood in a queue outside for 15 minutes to order two take away coffees, a cake and a can of Sam Pellegrino We had to wait outside again for a further 10 minutes for the coffees. The Millionaire Shortbread was in a display cabinet which was not chilled and my finger went through the topping, It is beyond comprehension you charge what you do for such pathetic quality produce and food. Your staff needs training

Good food but I've remembered why I stopped coming in. The casual staff are lovely and have a great attitude, the problem seems to be with the senior staff whose attitude is poor to say the least. I was in on Thursday with a rather roudy 18 month old. The boss was on the phone and harrumphed out when my granddaughter was a bit noisy. Really sorry to disturb you.. 😎 Also, while the food is good it's crazy expensive. £35 for 2 pizzas and 2 coffees. Seems a bit heavy to me. Shame..

Had a lush fresh fruit smoothy and double espresso here. 😋 The coffee is proper Italian style and strength coffee! 💪 They have a authentic clay oven out that's to make fresh pizza. Staff were lovely and friendly and the location is just perfect for days sitting outside looking out to sea or indoors for a cosy atmosphere.

Pizzas are absolutely lovely, attentive and polite staff. They have a huge selection of food and delish cakes Can't wait to come back!

Great atmosphere, great coffee and an outstanding range of cakes. A real quality act. It can get busy particularly on a Tuesday evening when 2 for 1 pizza is on, but even then there’s always outside if the weather is kind.

Lovely sea views. We only stopped in for coffee, but were made very welcome. The coffee was very nice and we enjoyed looking at all the cycling related decor. Would definitely go again.

Sat outside and enjoyed a great breakfast bagel and a fabulous chai latte whilst watching people run the Sunderland City 10k and half marathon.

Very disappointed as the only thing you can have for lunch is bagels or a Greek salad. I asked for the contents of the bagel in bread but no they just do bagels?!?! Like eating cardboard

Visited her again recently and time to leave a review. Lovely location on rocker seafront. The coffee is roasted in-house and you can certainly tell the difference to other nearby inferior coffees. My favourites from a large range of offerings are the bagels. Always full...

Best coffee on the sea front. Also delicious cake. Inside and outside (uncovered) seating. Easy access and close to car park. Recently revisited, lots more choice.

Delicious freshly made and wood fired oven cooked pizzas. Staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Lovely atmosphere on a friday night meal out with friends. Very vegan friendly. Well return and recommend. Also good for daytime drinks a d cake (again always vegan options too).

We booked a table at Faustos this evening and will definitely be going back. Pizza was delicious and very close to the pizza we have enjoyed many times in Southern Italy. Great service, wonderful views, terrific choice of music. Our kind of place.☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Attended 13/02/23 early afternoon. Ordered coffee and food and sat inside. It was obviously evident it was a staff members first day (at the least very new). She was lovely - made an effort to actually talk to customers when delivering food / drinks making...

Lovely bagels! Set in an atmospheric and homely setting

Fantastic little coffee place tucked away next to the pier in Roker. Offers good quality, lovingly made speciality coffee and a great range of cakes and bagels. Then come back in the evening for freshly baked pizza. I'm working my way through the menu and haven't been disappointed yet, although nduja has been the best so far.

A friend and I stopped in here for a drink and cake. It’s a quaint place with a lovely view. There were plenty of nice cakes and drinks to choose from.

However the staff.. when I ordered food they barely made any eye contact, no hello’s or smiles, felt as though I was a massive burden when I ordered food (even though it was quiet). Other reviews said the staff were amazing but when I went they must have had an off day..

I had an hour to while away , so took my dog for a walk on Roker Beach. Decided to have coffee and cake and sit outside as it was a pleasant day. Made the mistake of choosing Fausto since it was the nearest cafe....

Love this place. My son and I visited Fausto Coffee last night. Love the fact its open until 9pm, even 10pm some nights. Thats great, it means I can take my son after school and we don't need to rush home. We met a very nice young man who is staff there. He was really nice and made me feel welcome/heard and comfortable. Because of the staff I will be back. Not tried the food in some years, can't wait to try it 😋. Drinks are a little expensive, £5 for two drinks. The quality is very good so the cost is definitely justified.
