Costa Coffee in Sunderland

One of our items didn’t arrive

I paid 60p extra per drink to have the cinnamon roll syrups in them and they left them out of all of the drinks. I am hoping I don't get the generic reply from just eat of every restaurant has its own recipe, because it does and I paid for that to be part of it and have the receipts to prove it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Missing two croissants, one drink was cold and the tea had so much milk in it couldn’t be drank.

Everything as I asked for, nice and hot, arrived on time, lovely courier - thank you! :-)

Order sat being prepared for 2 and a half hours whilst apparently a driver was assigned, when I complained the order was then marked as delivered and I still don’t have the order, blatant lying.

Better, no bitterness at all in the coffee, what more can you ask for?

The hot chocolate and white hot chocolate were vile watered down disgusting. The white hot chocolate tasted like nothing but sour milk. The food wasn’t even cut up it’s like they never even took the time to carefully prepare our order. Really disappointed I normally order from here for breakfast all the time. Vile. I really hope the milk isn’t sour because I’m pregnant

Called in while wife was at shops nearby, staff friendly and a nice cup of coffee. Sausage sandwich wasn’t the best hence 3 stars

Out of the Costas in Sunderland, they are unfortunately at the bottom for quality. No one here seems to know how to pull a shot of espresso, which negatively impacts every coffee based drink they make as they all use espresso shots. I suppose if you add in piles of syrupy junk then you probably wont taste how badly the coffee is made anyway, but if you actually care about a half decent cup then use S'land Broadway Costa.

Specifically put on include states and Napkins and no straw for boba included

Thank you for keeping my mobile safe until I returned. This is one of my favourite Costas, yes it’s busy at times but the staff manage the flow well. Drinks always delicious. But I especially rate the team today after I realised I’d dropped my mobile in store but thanks to an app realised it was safe with them. Colleague was lovely and took necessary (appreciated) precautions to make sure it was indeed my phone. Thank you so much

Not sure how the delivery guy got here but when he arrived half of the lids were off our drinks and there were 2 drinks with less than half left in the cup

Busy all day, very popular with the locals. Lovely polite and efficient staff, they serve quick and keep the place very clean. Typical Costa coffee so you'll know what to expect. The food is tasty but expensive like all coffee shops.

Great. The coffee and food was hot, impressive considering how cold it is at the moment. Lovely driver.

When I first came across Costa and read the reviews I was in two minds whether to give them a try as there were a few negatives but at the end of the day mistakes happen. I decided to give them a try and am glad I did. I have ordered a few times now and have to say the Costa crew have been spot on every time, the food and coffee has been hot, fast delivery and the delivery drivers have been great. Happy customer. Hope this review doesnt jinx future orders!!

Coffee piping hot, sandwiches piping hot. Lovely driver. The food is hotter from this place as opposed to when I order from places which are in close proximity. My sister was impressed and it takes a lot for her to comment.

Costa were very fast with my order and the lovely driver was very fast delivering. Spot on all round.

Great. The coffee was hot and the sandwiches nice. The food was well packaged. Thank you to the staff who prepared the food who obviously took a bit of care. Quick delivery considering the distance between us, Very nice driver. Thumbs up.

Service was really poor, had bought and paid for 2 lattes and a babychino chocolate for my daughter… my daughter noticed they had cream so asked if they could pop some cream on top and was told only if I paid 50 pence extra!!! Seriously. Just pop it on, it’s a tiny bit for the child!

Shame about the Blondie, £3 for an old stale cake where all the toppings had fell off is not good value. Everything else was great though.

Syrups that had been paid for were missing from the coffees. Drinks were not usual size.

Driver spilt both cups of tea on the pizza in his car, idiot, never again

Ordered a smoked bacon roll & cappuccino. Bacon roll was poor.

Coffee fine, staff awful. Went here a few times after work, three staff behind the counter who couldn't seem to produce a coffee within a reasonable time. After paying I was told to take a seat while my brew was being prepared. My gripe: when the coffee is ready staff simply yell out to tell you to come and get it. What is the problem with chains like Costa? Are they sooooo worried that if one customer gets a coffee delivered to their table their whole business model will collapse? I don't appreciate being yelled at or having to get up and down just to have a coffee. I won't be back.

Staff are very friendly and the beverages are too. But, one batista cannot make the coffees correctly so if we see certain person on the machine we don't enter the café.

Hard to review Costa as they are consistent from store to store.

I met a friend for a catch up at this costa. The staff were friendly, and we didn’t feel like there was any pressure to leave immediately after we had finished our drink and cake, which was nice. This coffee shop has a welcoming atmosphere and I’ll definitely be returning in the near future.

26th October 2021 12:20 Tall Long haired lady who served me was extremely rude for absolutely no reason! She didn't start with a simple customer service (hi , hello what can I get you ECT. ) Instead with a loud tone "take out or sit in?" Absolutely terrible experience and funny thing was she was extremely polite to the person behind me after she served me. 100 percent back to Starbucks where ethnic minorities treated well and respectfully.

Your normal coffee shop. Small in size compared to others stores. With outside seats so you can relax outside in the sun. The staff are very friendly and will help you out. On site toilets. And a good size carpark. Also near a bus route.

First time we'd visited this Costa. Seats available outside, approximately five tables with chairs. Service excellent and very clean. Plenty of parking space

I visited yesterday for a coffee and bun. There were two young men working who were extremely polite and helpful throughout the whole time I was there they worked serving and cleaning. They smiled and continued great service to everyone who came in. Young people don’t usually get the credit they deserve but these two young men are a credit to the company and theirs families.

Called yesterday for a coffee as I had an hours wait before I could collect the dog from the vets. Decided to try the filter coffee which was very good👍👍👍 made the mistake of ordering a large coffee and was presented with a huge volume in a very large mug. Won’t do that again . Staff very pleasant The downside was the amount of tables that were dirty and still had used crockery on them. Very disappointed as you would expect the staff would want clear tables so more customers can sit in.

Food and drink are good, but the room has terrible accustics, struggle to hear person at same table, would only take a little room treatment, sadly won't return.

Not cheap but always good quality coffee and food.

Having stopped going to this costa because the tables didn’t seem to get wiped and the poor attitude of some of the staff, I returned today. I returned as I heard that it had changed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cafe had had a fantastic makeover. However I was disappointed to find messy tables. I witnessed tables being cleared but not wiped. Shame.

Was here yesterday with grandson we both had cheese and ham toastie and a latte it was lovely and made fresh the staff serve quickly and are friendly and helpful a lovely clean place

Couldn't get a basic order right. Think the staff either need re training or sacking. If a person can't do the job then others will

I find the coffee to be weak and lacking body. Snack selection is good though.
