Had the fish and chips menu which came up piping hot and very enjoyable. Staff are very friendly and most helpful - well done!

We had one drink here. A large glass of Pinot Grigio. For two glasses £17.78,£8.89 each. Sorry that's an extortionist amount for 2 drinks. Gobsmacked but of course you had to pay it. I think the government needs to start regulating the charges of drinks in pubs. Because how comes you can get a bottle of wine in wetherspoons for £12.86 and this brewery can charge that much for two large glasses . I know I have a choice of where to drink, but that really is a joke!!

Staff were brilliant so friendly and attentive. Able to discuss menu and gave us time to choose. Food was piping hot very good pub grub and we didn’t wait long for it to arrive.

I visited the venue for the first time in a while last Sunday with my nan and a birthday lunch for her. Upon entry we were greeted by a friendly waitress who managed to find a lovely table for us in the corner. We were both set on having the roast for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at the amazing value for money it was. The portion size was perfect and the food was piping hot throughout. The waitress made sure we had everything we needed and was more than happy to provide table service for some more drinks. My nan even requested a song to be played while she waited, and even though it was a struggle to find the correct version to start with, the manager managed to find it in the end! I just thought that was a nice touch, it made her afternoon. I would highly recommend and I won’t be leaving it as long to visit next time! Thank you :)

Just read the review about the "wedding reception." Got to say that firstly they were given the best area in the bar, free food and free shots. They all seemed to have a great time. In fact, here's a shot of them drinking their free shots!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Fatling and, unfortunately, it was not the experience we had hoped for. Having booked our table months in advance and confirmed it through email and phone, we were excited to bring our guests to this pub after our ceremony. Upon arrival, we were greeted with indifference. The two staff members at the desk didn't even acknowledge us. It took a full ten minutes before they finally asked "next please," despite us being the only ones waiting. When my husband mentioned our reservation, the girl at the desk insisted there was none. She called over a lady named Carly, who loudly and rudely proclaimed that we didn't have a reservation, causing quite an embarrassment in front of our guests. After showing Carly our email conversation, she acknowledged the mistake but offered little in the way of an apology. Instead, she pointed to a couple of free tables inside, noting that the outside area was full. We reluctantly took one of these tables as it was too late to find another venue. The service throughout the evening was poor. One staff member, in particular, seemed irritated every time we placed an order, despite us spending a significant amount of money. While our friends were gracious and we managed to have a good time despite these issues, the overall experience was disrespectful and disappointing. I would not book this venue again and cannot recommend it to others. We expected better treatment, especially on such a special occasion.

I recently had my leaving party at the Fatling, and Sandy and her staff went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable evening! A cozy corner was reserved just for us, which was perfect for our little shindig. Sandy ensured that we were supplied with yummy hot savoury snacks and sweet nibbles. She really thought of everything! We even had a round of shots that kept the party lively. We truly got the VIP treatment. If you’re ever looking to host a party or just want a fantastic night out, The Fatling is the place to be, and the LIVE bands and DJ nights are brilliant. Big thanks to Sandy and her team for making my leaving party absolutely perfect! 🍻🎉

please expand the ladies toilets. the queue for a wee is ridiculous. and they have 2 male toilets. bank holiday Sunday and they put a young girl in the doorway controlling the queue. madness. that being said, the night was fab. good entertainment and drinks were served quick (probably why I needed a wee that frequently)

Although I am a Sunday regular at the pub , Sandy the landlady made my daughters 21 st birthday , and first time in the pub ,special by providing a lovely birthday cake . As always the pub is really well staffed and we ate some nice buffet food also .Also as St Patrick’s day there were dancers and plenty of Irish tunes to make the evening very entertaining, recommended

We went to the Fatling following my husbands funeral which was a celebration of his life. Sandy had arranged a lovely alcove with chairs and tables. it was very cosy and ideal for people to chat to each other. There was a fantastic cold buffet on the tables then the hot snacks were brought out which were very popular indeed. There was something for everyone and it was a lovely setting being in the pub but separate. Thanks to Sandy and all the helpful staff x

Great for watching sport. Popped in to watch Luton/Arsenal on Tuesday and had a fab time. I counted at least 10 TV's with 4 outside, and the atmosphere was electric. Super well run, could see the Arsenal from every position, always an uninterrupted view. Staff were well on the ball and service was super speedy. Definitely going to pop in tonight to watch West Ham as this is a big time hammers pub on match days.

The Fatling is a great place to visit to eat and drink, with live music and sport available both inside and out in the garden. The food we ordered was exceptional as always. Good value for money with generous portions

My friends and I often visit at the weekend and always have a great time. Other reviews are true in that: - there is security at the door (this is surely a good thing?) - it is loud (I agree sometimes the music is a bit too much but it’s a fun venue at the end of the day) - it is very busy (but you get served pretty quickly considering the volume of people, as the staff are efficient and on the ball) Overall it’s a great pub to go to for a lively atmosphere at the weekends, with plenty of covered outdoor seating (that fills up quickly!) with heating if you want a bit more room away from the packed inside part of the pub. The pub has a good selection of drinks, live music and decent toilet facilities. Highly recommended.

We visited this pub and it was really nice. Bar staff was polite and a very quick service. Door security, however I have to question ❓ Without sounding wrong, the black doorman was a lovely bloke who welcomed us straight away, by the way my wife was traveling in her Electric wheelchair. Had a couple of drinks and at the end of the night, a fight did break out away from the venue. Unfortunately I did try to break up the fight, only to realise that not only was it nothing to with me but both sexes had a valuable argument. The reason for this review is, when I then walk away, the doorman then swears at me and calls me all names, even though I am trying to help. When I go to the manager, she tells me she wants nothing to do with it. Even though the said doorman is not at the entrance, where he should be and she thinks it right for him to be down the street. When I complain about language use, she wants nothing to do with it. Sad really. Yes I am in wrong for trying to help 😞 but the attitude of the doorman was a disgrace.

Was really really impressed with our meal today at this brilliant pub. Firstly the on-line booking was super simple, we got a great table under a heater and the place seemed really well organised and really well staffed.We felt really safe and secure, there were hand sanitisers everywhere, staff and punters were all respectful and the atmosphere was great.We all ordered the full English breakfasts, wow, they were huge, hot and very tasty, great value for money.Will definitely be going back

We booked the outdoor section for the big re opening on the 12th April following a lengthy lockdown. The outdoor bar itself was great, food was average (I would not recommend the salad here- go for a burger or fish and chips) but staff worked REALLY hard to accommodate us despite being really busy. Great work. The ONLY issue I had was that a man next to me vomited onto himself and onto the bar table during COVID which is a major potential danger. I informed the staff and they did not kick him out, so we spent the rest of the evening sat next to a man covered in vomit and he was SERVED and allowed to continue drinking. Really disgusted and shocked that this was allowed to happen. Not the staff or bars fault but security really needs to be stricter as this is so gross and unhygienic.

Two friends and myself went here for lunch. Because of the rules we had to sit outside - no problem, there are heaters in the canopies. The staff were helpful and efficient. We all had the all day breakfast, which was plentiful and delicious, although they forgot one of my friends beans, which they quickly put right. This was washed down with lovely Brentwood bitter, a lovely pint. Worth a visit during these strange times.

We got a table here even though we did not have to book. We were told we had just under 2 hours at the table, which was fine by us. They were very strict at the front of house regarding Covid, we had to have ID as well as give our details, which I thought was very thougher. The service was very good, the food arrived very quickly at our table and our drinks were brought over to us. The fish and chips were both had was very good, the fish was very fresh and flaked very well as you cut into it. I would go back and have the same again.

Came for a erly dinner as I was on my road trip for my 30th birthday. The burgers where real tasty but I was expecting a slightly bigger serving and burger. The staff behind the bar got one of the orders wrong but it was made OK as they sorted it out stright away. All the staff where dead friendly and welcoming to I'd come back again just order two burgers. The price is good for where we are in the country to.

Great customer service, really helpful and friendly staff. We opted for the fish and chips without the peas. The food was amazing. Hot, freshly cooked fish served with chips and a tartar sauce accompaniment. It was the best we'd eaten in a while so well done to all concerned. My only slight niggle was that the piped music was a little too loud to enable conversation without having to raise our voices

Good pub, been going for years, great live music and atmosphere. Ate here for the first time today and would not eat there again...could do a better roast myself or go to a toby carvery...go there for a drink but i wouldnt recommend the food

Went out last Friday to the Fatling. Had the best night in ages. Inside, the band was great. Outside the music was popping. Great atmosphere. Their door team were professional, manager was amazingly nice and went out his way for us. Got served really quickly and the outside bar is a total added bonus! Cocktails and pimms! We will definitely be coming back over the summer, can’t fault it!

Have been going to the Fatling for years now and the place just gets more popular every day.

I have been a regular here for a few years, although after todays experience I doubt I’ll ever frequent it again!!

Food is great standard, drinks are reasonably priced and staff are friendly. Well worth a visit for a quick eat or to meet with friends and watch the footie!

Met up with old friend and decided on pub crawl and finished here . Very relaxing and think it’s a great focal point for Hornchurch.

I had wanted somewhere to go for a meal and to relax a bit before an evening activity, so I found The Fatling online and booked a table for 1. I received a call to say that there would be no need to book a table for 1 at that time.

Initial visit was very good had good selection of beers and 4 real ales including a favourite of mine. As arrived on business relative early decided to relax before the next day so had a couple. Back to local hotel in evening changed and returned to Fatling again for evening meal.

Had yet another brilliant night last night (22 Feb) at the Fatling.

Unfortunately if you go on a Friday or Saturday night ...unless there is a spate of Digestive Function going around in this pub it seems people are in and out the toilets at an alarming rate ....small wraps litter the cubicle floors ...and residue from ... doesn't take a lot of working out
