Ordered a take away a few weeks ago which took an hour to get to us, once it arrived my friend’s vegan burger and fries were missing so she had nothing to eat. We called Fat hippo who said it wasn’t their responsibility and was Deliveroo’s which doesn’t make sense seen as Fat Hippo provide the food. On top of that my burger left me on the toilet for 5 hours that night, so overall a really bad experience and I won’t be ordering from them again.

Very nice burgers and generous portions for the price. The kids meal for £7.50 also can't be faulted as the burgers still seemed a good size. Butterscotch milkshake 👌and the little ones were gone in minutes too Will definitely recommend and come again

We’re new to Fat Hippo but we’re already back after our first meal (takeaway) less than a fortnight ago. So that’s testament to the quality of the food! Happy to say the service is also excellent, Brad was super happy and friendly, we’ve had a lovely time!

Ordered from Deliveroo and let me tell you... I have never ever felt more disappointed and hangry than I have felt today. Best way to describe the service I got today: tasteless, flavourless, unhygienic, frustrated and late AF. I thought my mood could be rescued from trying the food once it eventually got here, but unfortunately, even that fell through. After waiting about 1hr30mins for it, when the restaurant is only about 5 minutes down the road, to th3 driver confirming what my phone was telling me, that they were taking longer than they should've, to prepare the food, I rang on 2 occasions to be told that (after almost 1 hour) it just got out of the kitchen and that they were waiting for the driver, to hearing that they were really busy in the restaurant. Now, I know i could've very well walked down there to get it and see for myself, but I paid for a delivery service, as which, should've been on time as estimated. For the restaurant to be busy and miss as much as basic salt and seasoning in a Buffalo Hot Honey Burger, full of A LOT of ingredients, for me to taste LITERALLY NOTHING in said burger, was very disappointing. PLUS, the tater tots that came as a side, in a little tub, were not covered with a lid/ cling film/ foil, just anything, and to be stacked on top of each other, made me almost not want to eat them, but my unfortunate and desperately hungry self had no other choice at that point. The one star alone was honestly just for the tater tots atleast having salt in them and tasting alright. All of this to say that I understand they can be busy and I understand things can happen, but hygiene and flavouring your food, being a busy restaurant and all, should be the least of my problems as a customer, when I have waited that long for my food. And I usually don't rate things online, but with this being the second time I have ordered from here and the food having lacked an since of flavour, I'm upset to say a chance will no longer be given to them to say the least and I would recommend others to try any other place in bustling Headingley. Or, make your own at home lol, I've learnt my lesson today. Thanks to the person that answered the phone on both occasions though.

Quite fresh food and wonderful experience .

A few reasons to visit the place. Firstly the food is phenominal, the vibe is calm and quirky without being false. Then Brad.P is a credit to this place recomendations and attentiveness is something you dont often get in the industry anymore. Will 100% return when back in the area.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant, great atmosphere inside, fantastic service, from a passionate and friendly server called Brad P. His enthusiasm, his professionalism, and his passion for the food really sold it to me and his recommendations were spot on. The burger was amazing, portion sizes were great and value for money, was spot on. I'd definitely recommend visiting here if you are about or passing and I will be back.

Not Fat Hippos fault but Just Eat didn't deliver food, it took 1.5 hours and at this point I called restaurant, I contact restaurant to find out the food left 30 mins before and driver had it. For context the drive is 8 mins. Finally contacted driver via app and he tells me he doesn't see the address. Just Eat refunded but it ruined my evening, food never arrived. I will come again but will drive and fetch myself. HOWEVER having called the restaurant and discussed they implied this is a known and frequent occurrence with Just Eat. Take some responsibility and stop using their drivers then IMO, as they're making your cracking product ruined.

As regular delivery customers my sister and I was shocked ordering this time round! We had ordered through deliveroo around 7:15pm under my sisters name! As I understand it with how deliveroo/uber/justeat works a restaurant doesn't start cooking the food until a delivery driver has accepted the order! So a driver accepted the order got to the restaurant and cancelled! 2 and a half hours and 4 other drivers later a driver finally picks our order up! But Low and behold when it arrives it is freezing cold and not edible! Because its just been sat there waiting on the side after the first driver accepted and cancelled as much money as we have spent ordering from this place I am absolutely flabbergasted that they would send food out that has been sat there for 2 hours and is most definitely going to be freezing cold upon arrival where is the pride in the food? not good at all considering like I say the amount of times we have ordered previously think you may have lost custom now especially as deliveroo only offered £5 in app credit as compensation

Oscar served us and he was very polite and down to earth, he ensured we were happy with everything and checked on us throughout the meal. We did have a slightly longer wait than usual for the food to come out but there were some large groups in at the same time so this was understandable. Food was great and flavoursome

Visited for the new breakfast menu that they have recently released & it was incredible. Loved the different burger options. I had the Uncle buck which was the perfect breakfast burger with all the good stuff, a runny egg & a delicious sauce. My partner had the pancakes which were lovely and fluffy with crispy bacon & a buttery maple sauce which was perfect. We both had hash rounds on the side too which were so yummy!! Definitely recommend adding a portion of these on. The filter coffee is unlimited too which is a great idea. Our lovely server Gabby made us feel so welcome & was super friendly and attentive, all the staff there were incredibly welcoming.
