Oscar served us and he was very polite and down to earth, he ensured we were happy with everything and checked on us throughout the meal. We did have a slightly longer wait than usual for the food to come out but there were some large groups in at the same time so this was understandable. Food was great and flavoursome

Visited for the new breakfast menu that they have recently released & it was incredible. Loved the different burger options. I had the Uncle buck which was the perfect breakfast burger with all the good stuff, a runny egg & a delicious sauce. My partner had the pancakes which were lovely and fluffy with crispy bacon & a buttery maple sauce which was perfect. We both had hash rounds on the side too which were so yummy!! Definitely recommend adding a portion of these on. The filter coffee is unlimited too which is a great idea. Our lovely server Gabby made us feel so welcome & was super friendly and attentive, all the staff there were incredibly welcoming.

Fab meal at fat hippo. Food delicious, service fabulous. Special thank you to our server Sadie who was ace and arranged a wheelchair accessible table for us and confidently understood why my husband needed to use his own plate. We'll be back!

Staff are rude. Long delays. The kitchen cannot handle more than 1 order every hour it seems. Do not visit here if u want ur food on time. Anywhere but here.

Ordered as a takeaway. Sides (tater tots and slaw) were nice but the vegan party in my partners burger was bland and springy. Disappointing as there are a great range of vegan pattys on the market now.

Quite empty when we went but staff waited on us hand and foot, they were excellent and very accomodating. I think one was training? either way she has the makings to be fantastic as with everyone else :) By the way, the onion rings are fantastic.

My boyfriend and I came here today and ordered the Honey Shot Chicken Burger and the Born Slippy Beef Burger. Both were great, super tasty and everything you want in a burger. Highly recommend. Service was great as well which makes a big difference! Brad the manager was exceptional as well, a true representation of what great customer service looks like! Cheers guys, we’ll be back! 👌😊

I’ve been with family and we all loved it what we ordered we’ve got it

Our food took an hour to arrive, and even then half was missing. Due to their delay, they then said we were there after closing and needed to finish within 15 minutes. Absolutely galling and appalling service. We ordered at 9:15pm and were told there’s a 15 minute wait. 45 minutes in, and after seeing multiple takeaway orders being served ahead of us, we asked where our food was. We were told it was going to come in “two minutes”. We waited a further 15 minutes before our food arrived. Only half our order arrived. We then asked again for the remaining food, which took another 10 minutes. 5 minutes later we were asked by another waiter to vacate the premises as they had closed - even though they had only just put the food on the table. This was astounding given we were only there due to their slow service, and had just been served. Not only that, there were multiple other parties still seated, whilst we were a quiet group of 4. Had we known how long the wait was, we would’ve chosen any of the other establishments nearby. The food was mediocre and service appalling. Would not recommend.

The only reason I can't mark the atmosphere as 5 stars is becauae we were the first ones in and only 2 more 2s came in. There wasn't a bad atmosphere just not really an atmosphere to comment on. The food was delicious. The waitress was lovely and polite. I have to say I was shocked that the kids meals were exactly the same size as mine yet mine cost more than double. Same amount of chips too. My kids left alot because it was an adults portion. Next time, I will try order a children's one as it's more than enough. The toilets were clean although no nappy bin for baby changing. I had to put it in the sanitary bin as that was all that was there. Didn't fancy carrying a dirty nappy around on a red hot day. All in all, a great experience and we will revisit.

Bought the wild bill burger as it used to be 2 smash patties in the burger, they now just do frozen burgers heated up that you would do on the BBQ, disappointing.

It was a Wednesday evening in headingley. Everywhere we passed was full of people drinking and eating and having a great time. We arrived to grey empty Fat Hippo. That signal would say “no” to me usually. But we’d booked (lol) so we went in. Music super loud. I guess cos the two wait staff were the only people there. Should have left. But we stayed. Ordered drinks. I asked a couple of questions. The server knew nothing about the menu. And seemed kind of annoyed that I’d asked. The food came pretty fast. Frickles were good. Maybe the best I’ve had in uk. But the. After a few. No. Not so good. Way too greasy. Shame. My dining partner kind of liked their chicken sandwich but didn’t finish it. Or the fries. My burger was meh. Reminded me of 1980s British pub food. Finally we paid and left. Within about 20 minutes I started feeling pretty ill. Didn’t really sleep. Hence this dyspeptic review. It won’t matter. They’ll be closed in a matter of months. I found the whole experience pretty immiserating

Burger was good, was expecting it to look more impressive having seen the photos on the website by each burger on the menu, posted side by side for comparison. Burger as I said was good, had the peanut butter one, not disappointed but not as impressed as thought I would be!

Good service from the moment you enter the building. Good choices on the menu and caters for the smaller appetite. Staff very friendly. Food was cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Food was fantastic but the time to bring the food out was over 40 minutes. There were only 3 other tables in so unsure why the waiting time was soo long.

Food was great, location is really good. We were there early so not many other people were in the restaurant. Other than that, would recommend for a good burger! No parking I don’t think so you’ll have to find that yourself. We managed to get parked down a side street that allowed parking for certain times.

Visited for a meal with my partner, and we were both blown away - amazing quality food, in very good portion sizes for the price. The service was attentive without being constant or annoying. We were served by Max, who was really friendly. We left very full and very happy.

Maxine was a lovely waitress. Made sure we were happy and satisfied with our food. Thoroughly enjoyable experience will definitely come back.

I went as a 5 person visit, but will only talk about what I had. First of all the staff were terrible. One waitress in particular had a face like thunder the whole evening. We asked for table water but never got it. We never had desert because we were never checked upon after finishing our meal. I ordered a burger with pulled pork and that was cold. The burger and chips were lukewarm. I was surprised how quickly the food arrived, which means that orders are not cooked fresh to order. It shouldn't be hard to cook burgers to order. It's a shame because if it was hot, it would have been pretty tasty. Overall not a very pleasant experience and one I would not want again. With the choice of restaurants in Leeds, I'd choose somewhere else.

Won't take orders over the phone. What a joke, I've never heard of this before. Lost me as a customer.

The burgers we ordered were delivered to us so quickly after ordering it was very hard to believe these were freshly cooked. There were 5 of us in our party with mixed reviews. The hand cut chips were only slightly larger than the fries and did not look hand cut. One of us had the burger with onion rings and they thought it was very good. Two of us had the chicken burger which we both thought ok. And lastly one of us thought their food was not hot enough but tasted good. The service we received was adequate but not great. I asked for a glass of water and never received it and when we had finished our mains we were not even asked if we required anything else or if we had enjoyed our meal. We do not think the prices were high but there are much better places to have an evening meal
