Thursday 20th March! Alice was the best sever ever!!! So friendly and kind & we talked about baking and banana bread, so I’m excited to come back and find out how her bake went!!! Service was super quick and food was really tasty! Shoutout Fat Hippo staff!!

Went for "happy hour" burger and dessert. Burger was nice, however once we had finished the burgers and ordered dessert we were informed that as it was happy hour the desserts would be a "bit" smaller than regular desserts (which I can't see mentioned on the website anywhere). When the desserts arrived I was a little shocked at their size.(The hands in the picture are a 5yr olds)

Food was great, it’s a shame however that i had to pay 3 times, first time it didn’t go through which was okay due to connection however after i paid the second time and showed the manager that it had come out on my bank, i was told it would bounce back, so i paid again as i was told the money would come back in a few days. Few days later both of the transactions went through on my bank and no longer was in pending meaning i paid £100 for a meal that was only £50, so I returned to the restaurant where the manager had told me to come back if there was any problems. Where then i was refused a refund being told i had to wait for the pending to clear (when it already had and i showed him) i was called a liar by the manager, implying that he didn’t believe me after continuously showing him my banking app. This is absolutely ridiculous that i have to now chase a restaurant for my own money that i was wrongly charged, I find it even more absurd that the manager instead of trying to resolve it right there and then like he promised, now is telling me to come back to the restaurant with a printed bank statement as “proof” further wasting my own time and patience.

Sadie was an amazing server and made me feel comfortable eating with my allergy.

First time here. Parking in Headingly is a pain but found a spot. I think we're were served by the manager and he was great. One of our party had intolerance questions and he was brilliant. They ended up picking a burger from the menu and then the manager went through it item by item to custom make a version that met their requirements. The food was hot and tasty, great burger. Will definitely be returning. Been a long time since I had a great burger.

We came as a party of 7 and were seated straight away. They provide choices for gluten free and vegan! My husband has Coeliac Disease and is very sensitive. He was over the moon with his burger, fries and milkshake! Most Coeliacs will know that burger buns usually fall apart after the first bite...his didn't! It stayed intact the whole way through! There is a good selection of burgers, beef and chicken and plant based, with various sauces and additions such as bacon, jalapeños etc. They have an array of dips for your chips...we struggled to choose! I would recommend the ranch dip! I had a milky bar hard shake which had ice cream, baileys and amaretto in it (it was strong!). My son had an oreo dessert and loved it! It's the quietest he's been for a while! We're not local but would travel for these burgers again!

Incredible Valentines Burger! The 'Le French Kiss' February special was a big delicious mess. Pretty much all I could ask for from a burger except for pickles but I asked for them to be added so everything was covered! So many amazing flavours from the sauces, onions, meat and the bun too. I hugely enjoyed each mouthful. I also had dirty tater tots and they were fantastic too. Generous portion size and the fat hippo sauce is devine. The server was friendly and the place has nice vibes. However I must share my annoyance that I was asked to return 30 minutes later after going in at 11:30. Their opening times state 11:30 so either be ready to serve then or change the information... It bugged me further that right after I ordered, an uber eats order was collected! Fortunately the food was worth the frustrating wait. I've always enjoyed visits to Fat Hippo but this burger was the best they've delivered.

You couldn’t get any better value, atmosphere , friendliness & quality. I love the burgers and this place because they are delivering exactly what they promise . Great burgers, great staff, and very cozy atmosphere , they are the best I believe because what is outside the tin is what is inside in this place not like many places out there. 💯 % I recommend it.

Chicken burger was very juicy and tender. Shame it came deep fried in a sweet honey batter. Some of the burger combos were a bit random and not to taste. Decent affair without making want to rush back

I ordered a takeaway it took an hour and a half to come and was literally stone cold when it arrived, my husbands burger had lettuce and gherkins stuck to the outside bottom of the bun!!! When I called the restaurant they said that because I had ordered through just eat they couldn’t do anything about it and continued to ask if the contents of my burger had fallen out? (see pic) on top of that she continued to argue about what time it should have been collected at even though I had the receipt infront of me😅 clearly the staff can’t do their job properly and the delivery company’s they use are incompetent. AVOID!
