The door was opened by a female staff member who said very abruptly ‘I don’t do dogs’ she then turned her back on us!. It was pouring down and not possible to sit outside.

The lack of options on Tiree seem to breed an apathetic approach and the farmhouse cafe takes this further than most. The staff are rude, the food is overpriced for the mediocre results and the furnishings are tired/falling apart in places. Despite the limited options, this is still one to avoid.

There are few places for tea/coffee open on Tiree. We had to wait to be seated although there were areas no one was in. My husband has a guide dog and it was obvious the dog was not welcome when we were shown into the side room which was dark and the furniture was tired. We were told that the table was required again in 45 minutes. At this point we left without even sitting down.

We have always loved this cafe and after a year away from visiting the island it was so good to go and find it just as good as ever. Our meals were super tasty and beautifully presented. The spicy Chicken Nachos have always been a favourite of mine and didn't disappoint, neither did the Tex Mex wrap which my daughter had. Husband loved his chilli nachos too. Glad we booked as it was quite busy.

Always good food. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Wish they did chips as that would really hit it out the park. Don’t miss it

Great fresh food made to order. We sat in the rear conservatory and looked over the fields. The menu has a good selection of meals and drinks. We had not booked a table, they were busy but not too busy so the fitted us in.

Popped in for lunch, coffee and cake to escape the rain and they were able to squeeze me in! Lovely cafe doing the usual sandwiches, wraps, baked potatoes, etc. Food was well priced and there was a large selection of home baking on offer. Will likely be back again over the course of my trip!

Delicious selection of ice creams and sorbets. Summer fruit sorbet was just the ticket on a roasting hot day.

Best I can say is "we had a nice server". Had the "Posh Pastrami sandwich". First bite of it found the tiniest bit of pastrami... Used the magnifier function on my phone to find it! Coleslaw was HORRIBLE...all mayo! Partner got the philly cheese steak... Better, but beef was tough! At least the chips were ok. All in all, a def "Pass!"

We arrived around 4:30 and asked to be seated upstairs as my husband and son are over 6ft so the small tables downstairs are not suitable for them to sit at, additionally the dining area is dark and I have difficulty with my sight. The usual gentleman who knows us well wasn’t on shift and we were met with an older and younger women who were abrupt and very rude. We were told ‘there’s only 2 of us and we can’t be going up and downstairs’ I explained we are locals and have never had issue before and explained why we couldn’t sit downstairs. They then turned their backs on us and continued to serve ice cream to another customer. After being ignored standing with our party of 6 I asked again ‘could we sit upstairs’ she agreed but told us we had to wait until 5pm to be served as they were busy. Thankfully 5 o’clock came and we were served by the usual gentleman who is absolutely brilliant and friendly. He made us feel welcome whereas the women made us extremely uncomfortable and to be honest discriminated against. My husband can’t help that he doesn’t fit into the small tables downstairs stairs and I shouldn’t have to explain my sight issues with the dark dining area. Additionally 1 person in our party is of larger stature and wouldn’t fit in the small booths and our son is Autistic so the quite space is better. I wouldn’t normally leave a bad review but staff should not question it when a customer asks to be seated in another area of a small restaurant. And making us feel uncomfortable about these issues is disrespectful and discriminatory. Other than that the food was lovely and my sons birthday dinner was rescued but the amazing male server who goes above and beyond. A true credit to the place.

Great food and perfect for families. The staff were all very friendly, and in particular, Ben was extremely helpful and attentive. Would definitely come back.
