Great service, some items off the menu not available however there was plenty of choice. Staff very polite and helpful and friendly.

Food was very average and relatively over-priced. One of us had a beef sunday roast which was alright but the bacon on the pigs in blankets was paper thing. The venue is lovely and looks like one of the most modern places in Oban, and the staff were great but the food quality was poor and it was £7 for a pint of lager. Overall pretty disappointing.

Although been in this restaurant twice and the food was great,we were very disappolnted this time.Fish dish was cold ,and steak had a watered down peppercorn sauce.Coffee was rubbish,they forgot to put coffee beans in.On top of that there was a discrecionary 10% service charge.Wont be back.

Terrific service, delightful dinner

The night we were going we looked online at menu and made our minds up before arriving. Table was booked for 18.45. When we arrived the steak frites was off the menu, it was why we decided to go so very disapointed. I decided to have the fish and chips, this should have come with house fries but I was given skinny fries which again was not what I expected so again disapointed, but fish was nice, the batter good. My wife ordered the steak pie but this needed to be sent back as it was cold not even lukewarm but cold, when it came back out it was fine and she enjoyed it but she felt that it was not freshly cooked but maybe plated up and left to sit as although it was warmer than the 1st plate she was given it was still not as hot as expected. At end of meal a man who may have been manager or lead waiter apologised for cold meal and deducted price of one drink from meal. Atmosphere and service was good and a nice place for a meal but wrong chips, cold meal, and no steak frites on what is already a small menu is not good enough, especially as this was a Sunday night and a time you expect them to be well stocked. Will not be going back.

Unsere sechsköpfige Gruppe besuchte Cuan Mòr im Rahmen einer Tour, die uns lediglich 1,5 Stunden für das Mittagessen einräumte. Bereits die Sitzordnung stellte eine Herausforderung dar, da wir auf zwei Tische – einen für vier und einen für zwei Personen – aufgeteilt wurden. Doch das war erst der Anfang einer insgesamt enttäuschenden Erfahrung. Obwohl mein Freund und ich an dem kleineren Tisch als Erste bestellt hatten, mussten wir fast eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten – nur um dann festzustellen, dass unsere Freunde am Nachbartisch, die deutlich später bestellt hatten, ihre Mahlzeiten lange vor uns erhielten und bereits fertig waren. Zusätzlich gab es erhebliche Fehlbestellungen: Ich hatte mich bewusst für Cullen Skink entschieden, eine traditionelle schottische Suppe mit geräuchertem Schellfisch. Serviert wurde mir jedoch eine beliebige Fischsuppe mit Miesmuscheln, die völlig den charakteristischen Rauchgeschmack vermissen ließ. Ebenso erhielt ein Freund Miesmuscheln statt des bestellten Lachses. Die Qualität der Speisen war insgesamt mittelmäßig, und aufgrund der Verzögerungen mussten wir unser Essen schließlich in Eile hinunterschlingen. Zusammenfassend wirkte der gesamte Ablauf chaotisch und schlecht organisiert, mit langen Wartezeiten und mehreren Fehlern bei den Bestellungen. Schade, denn mit der idyllischen Lage in Oban hätte das Restaurant durchaus das Potenzial für ein großartiges kulinarisches Erlebnis.

We stayed in Oban and visited this restaurant a few times due to how good it was. It is dog friendly which is a massive plus for us. The food was always beautiful and very reasonable. The decor was lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive, everytime we came they offered our dog water straight away. We will returning when we come back to Oban. I would highly recommend.

Just got a simple dish (Mac n Cheese) as didn't fancy eating much else, but it was delicious. Wife opted for venison burger (not photographed) and loved it. Atmosphere was fantastic, all other guests appeared to be having a good time and enjoying their food. Considering it's right on the front of a tourist hotspot, didn't think it was overpriced at all. Have already recommended other people to go, and would go back as well as a priority.

We ate here late lunch early evening meal. We wanted to make a reservation, but this was no longer possible, so we tried when we were in the area and we were lucky. We also saw that there was quite a turnover for tables and that people liked to wait a while. We found it very nice and atmospheric inside mixture of restaurant and pub. With friendly staff. And the food was fantastic we had steak pie and Fien and chips. Meat super soft and all the flavors were delicious, including the mashed potatoes and gravy. And the fish was buttery soft and delicious with a super crispy, no greasy layer. I would really recommend everyone to eat here at least once. If I come back to Scotland I will definitely try to come back here.

Our go-to pub in Oban: even though there were eleven of us (without a reservation), they managed to find us a nice place twice, welcoming us with great kindness. The food is exquisite, the environment friendly and the staff friendly, absolutely recommended!

Good food good price, what's not to like

Nice restaurant. Met some friendly people. Service was faultless....we had a young 19 year old lad who was brilliant, made you feel welcome, very attentive and had a great sense of humour. Absolutely made it for us! Food, of course delicious. Would highly recommend prawn and avocado starters and the ribs and bbq sauce were amazing; proper sized ribs, loads and tasty. Cant remember the name of the desert but it had a coconut snowball on top and was delicious. Thanks

I went here for a coffee whilst waiting for my poor dog at the vet. The person (I suspect the owner) at the door was pleasant and welcoming but did seem put out when I said I wouldn't order food. There appeared to be some sort of way in which they organised the other guests (it was quiet and early) so they wanted us bunched by the windows to look busy. This resulted in two gentlemen having a loud Zoom/ Teams conversation with their laptop so I couldn't read my book. Can't blame the staff for this too much. The sting was the bill. The coffee was advertised as £3.95 (and milk alternatives were not mentioned as supplementary charges on the menu). I was charged roughly 50p for the oat milk and then a 'service charge' of roughly 50p. I think this was all a bit steep for a 10 minute coffee break to be more than £5.

Absolutely gorgeous food, just opposite the harbour, good friendly staff! Worth a visit!

Had lunch here, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Came in here last year and was very disappointed and said I wouldn’t go back but I threw caution to the wind and went back and was glad I did, the service was excellent and the food was fantastic, I had the fish curry from the special menu and it was one of the tastiest curries I’ve had in a long time, my wife had the salmon pasta and she loved it, I will definitely return next time I’m in Oban, the crumble was very delicious and quite filling

Loved this gem of a place. We were 6 people and came for a late lunch without a reservation. 3 of us had the Sunday roast and it was a great price. I had the venison lasagna with cheddar cheese and WOW it was delicious.

The mussels at this pub were hands down the freshest and most flavorful I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and bursting with briny, ocean-fresh goodness. Went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I had the full Scottish and my partner had the eggs benedict with hash browns and black pudding. Really good quality and presentation and the service was friendly and cheery. Nice surroundings. Apparently the coffee was very good too.

It's a nice restaurant to sit in but, I'm sorry, the food is vile and it has been every time I've tried to give this place another chance over the last few years.

Popped in for dinner and had amazing steak frites and sticky toffee pudding. Food all arrived pretty quickly and was great quality. Well worth the visit if you are in Oban.

Midweek early December, this restaurant bar was very welcoming and served lovely food and excellent beer. The seafood chowder starter was superb 👍

Our light lunch at this dog friendly restaurant on a day trip to Oban on a grey December day was the highlight of the visit. Full of Christmas revellers and shoppers, the atmosphere was warm and friendly . The staff on duty were all polite and professional and the food ordered was delicious. The chowder was creamy and well seasoned, thick and rich. The mussels were fresh and well cooked, served in a flavoursome sauce. Last but not least - the Apple and Watermelon Mocktail was delightful. All extremely good value for money.

First time here at Cuan Mor, while staying in Oban for a couple of days. Really nice place, well laid out, lovely Christmas decor, welcoming staff, set in a ideal position overlooking the bay. Very friendly staff, made to feel welcome. A good atmosphere, busy place without being noisy and loud. Food was absolutely delicious. We had vegan burger and a cauliflower and kale burger, lovely and hot and very well presented. Highly recommended place to go.

For a busy Sunday afternoon, there were two staff on to welcome, seat and serve customers, and cover the bar. The staff were doing an OK job considering this but service was definitely a little slow - at one point it seemed to just be the barman on. The food was delicious and a decent price. My husband had fish and chips which was a beautiful piece of fish and flakey batter, lovely. We had a good sized main each and a soft drink + coffee and the bill was £30. The person who made my flat white clearly couldn't work with oat milk but otherwise no complaints about what we received. The views of the bar, warm and welcoming decor and the Christmas decorations made it a lovely place to stop in for a proper lunch.

It really upsets me to leave a bad review for this place because its been a firm favorite for years but my last 2 experiences were terrible especially yesterday's. The first was on Tuesday night, my friends booked us a table for my birthday most of the dinner went well, everyone seemed to enjoy the food, the disappointments were their menu change and the fact my cheesesauce on my vegan meal was very cold and spoilt the meal, we also ordered dessert and were annoyed to be told 20 minutes after we ordered it that they only had 2 cheesecakes left when we had ordered 3, and then another 15 minutes to get it, this would of been forgiven if they were busy but they really were not at all and we only ordered ice-cream, 2 cheesecakes and an affegato. The next time we came back on the Sunday, we had hoped to make breakfast but due to our own complications we never arrived until 11.55 am. When we arrived we were told we had to wait 5 minutes to order, they never asked if we wanted breakfast or lunch it was disappointing but that was okay. The real problem for me was they completely ignored us for that 5 minutes they never gave us menus or asked for a drinks order they just continued to wipe tables, the biggest problem for me is the fact the chef served normal mushrooms when the menu stipulated king oyster mushrooms (I used to run a kitchen so i know), I never complained because not once did the waitresses come over to check things were OK, they were too busy staring out the window ignoring the customers. My friends both had roast beef that was very over cooked and dry. I did eat the mushrooms which were very greasy and not nice. When we were finished we sat for ages waiting for someone to clear the table so we could settle the bill, eventually we had to shout someone over as no one was coming they were leaning on the bar doing nothing. When we got our bill I was disgusted to see a service charge on the bill. I honestly don't agree with this as service staff get decent pay and the tip should be a choice reflecting the service you receive which I was definitely not giving as I really don't think it was at all deserved. This has greatly upset me and I don't think I'll be back again. I'm local and we usually come in in groups of at least 5+ and we spend a good amount. I'm not normally someone to complain or write a bad review but this is ridiculous, who does a refurbishment and makes the place worse.

Great looking restaurant with friendly, efficient staff. Had lunch with my family and they loved the seafood chowder, I recommend the gourmet sandwich. Delicious food at really good prices.

We booked our table, glad we did as was very busy. Felt we waited long to get a drink. We got our order in, and the stars are for the starter they were amazing. So tasty. Our mains were average, I'd say I was a little disappointed. I had homemade steak pie , and the steak was dry and chewy. But pastry was delicious. Veg meh. Venison Lasagne was not great. And burger was bleh. Had to ask twice for the bill after quite a time trying to get anyones attention. The restaurant is beautiful. Very cosy. Staff were pleasant but not attentive.

Super cozy & festive decor. Delicious food with generous portions... and the prices are very decent in comparison to other restaurants around the area. £14 for a venison lasagne (very delcious) when usually it'd be more like £17 to £21. Got seated no bother without a reservation despite it looking busy. Staff were lovely. Would recommend to anyone, and will be back. :)

Food was of a high standard and reasonably priced. The mussels were the biggest and plumpest I've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend although they do add a service charge on to the bill automatically, irrespective of the size of your party. It's a bit presumptuous, but i assume you can ask for it to be taken off.

THE BELL!!! DAMN THE BELL!!!! DING DANG DONG!!! That blasted bell shall haunt my dreams. It's maddening... MADDENING!!!! the bell tolls to take your sanity. The FOOD TASTED LIKE THE BELL. there is bell and only bell. Damn that bell!!!!

We stayed in Oban for a week and ate here twice. The burger I ordered (twice) was the nicest burger I have eaten out anywhere. The staff were lovely and friendly. The gluten free menu was clear and well thought out. Not really a fan of eating out as usually it is poor value for money. That absolutely is not the case here. Cuan Mor is clearly a place where the owners and staff care about the business. I absolutely recommend it and wish you all well.

Our group of six visited [Cuan Mòr] while on a tour, which allowed only a 1.5-hour stopover for lunch. We had to sit on a two-person and a four-person table, which created some logistical challenges. Although my friend and I at the smaller table placed our order first, we ended up waiting nearly an hour for our food – only to see that our friends at the neighboring table, who ordered after us, received their meals much earlier and had already finished lunch. Adding to the confusion, I specifically ordered Cullen Skink, a traditional Scottish smoked haddock soup, but was instead served a standard fish soup with mussels, lacking the distinct flavor of smoked fish that makes Cullen Skink so unique. Additionally, one of our friends received mussels instead of the salmon they had ordered. The food itself was, unfortunately, quite ordinary, and we felt rushed to finish our meals due to the delays. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, with long wait times and multiple order mix-ups. I hope the restaurant can address these issues, as their location in beautiful Oban has so much potential for an excellent dining experience.

Food was excellent, so tasty and great portions. Staff very good. Would have given 5 stars but for a couple of niggly things. Wine extortionate, not on drinks list and asked for a bottle of house, charging £30 for Pinot Grigot is ridiculous. Also adding on a 10% service charge is poor, although it is discretionary. Let us decide how much we want to tip.

Eventually got slotted in to a nice table by the window, ,just as our meal arrived a couple with a dog were squeezed in the table next to us, the dog was a bit unsettled. I do not care for eating my dinner around animals, this was then unsettling for us, as we were not asked if we minded, not everyone on earth are dog lovers and it was unfair to assume that this would be acceptable to us it really was not, there were apparently no other tables available.. on the upside we enjoyed our meal, we have dined there many times in the past and cannot fault the food. We shall reconsider in future. I do not ever want to eat my meal with a strange dog rubbing against me. No, not acceptable...separate section for dogs and owners would be the answer.

Brilliant, We came in for a couple of meals here with my family and our dog. The place has a cosy atmosphere, the staff was friendly and helpful, serving good, tasty food. We had a great time, I recommend this restaurant to everyone. 🙂👍

We went here recently looked ok from the outside on looking at the menu I got the ribs and my wife got the fish and chips the ribs were supposed to be cooked on their smoker but were dry and not very tasty the fish batter was greasy the service was ok though they seem to rush you

My friends and I visited a couple weeks ago from the Okanagan, BC, Canada! Awesome food and service. Everyone was pleased with their lunch. I asked for Haggis as I’ve always wanted to try and the staff accommodated despite it only being on the breakfast menu. My lucky day they had some left as it was ‘amazing’. This is a memorable gem & I hope to go back some day!

We trusted it would be empty on a wet Monday in October at 6:45 but it was entirely full, but they found us space after half an hour. Lovely, attentive, really great food, totally recommended. The only thing I would improve is to take another look at the alcohol free beers .. the Menabrea didn't seem to taste of much.

Cheese toastie and tomato soup both a fail. Soup tasted like hot ketchup and grilled cheese was cold. Husband’s seafood chowder was tasty though.

A busy evening during the MOD and they managed to provide a reasonable pre-booked set meal for our group. Some veg would have been nice - - but otherwise perfectly fine. Astonishingly, no decent beers on tap now. Either they are resting on their laurels, or there is a problem. Not impressed. We’ve been coming here for years, both as a couple and bringing groups in. Will we come again? Probably not. Needs to try harder.

Vegan options here were better than most places in Oban. Pasta was lovely and burger was also good, not exquisite but okay.

A warm welcome and absolutely yummy food. The seafood platter was gorgeous. Mackerel pate was the best I’ve ever had. Great layout for having a craic with other diners. Definitely be back and highly recommended

No server ever came to the table after 30 minutes of waiting. The host put in our order after we approached them as despite asking a server if they could have someone come, no one came. No further visits from staff occurred until plates were cleared. Absolutely abysmal service, the worst I have experienced in a restaurant.

Very friendly and responsive staff. We came with our dog who was entitled to his bowl of water and small cakes. The fish and chips are a little greasy for my taste.

Good burger. Long wait time but I arrived at dinner time! Nice big bar upstairs where you can have an adult beverage while you wait for your table! I enjoyed the general vibe here, the pinot noir and the venison burger which was the first red meat I’ve had in a very long time! Had a good experience and met a couple from Switzerland who I had a great convo with!

A sweet restaurant in Oban with great value ratio. The food was with quality and for lunch set, the price was unbeatable. The chowder was creamy and well seasoned, thick and rich. The mussels themselves are fresh and well cooked. The shrimps were a tiny bit over fried though. Servers were nice and helpful. Only thing is there was a bell at the kitchen reminding readiness at kitchen which was a bit annoying when sitting closed to it. Alfresco seems very nice too just over looking at the water front.

My family and I had such high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately our orders seemed to have been forgotten. It took over an hour and a half for us to receive our meals, and no one seemed interested to check in on us or give us our meals and it was extremely hard to call on someone to get an update. Our meal service started out great, the girl that was waiting on us was attentive and took note of my Gluten and Dairy allergies and went to check with the chef on what sides were safe for me to eat. But since it was an hour before closing there seemed to be a shift change and our server left for the night along with many other staff, that is when our service went downhill. Unfortunately by the time we got our meals we were so tired we hardly had the energy to eat our meals. I will give props to the Gluten free menu, as well as the atmosphere because it was cool to see historic photographs of the previous hotel establishment that the restaurant once was.

If you're looking for seafood, this is the place to go! J was our wonderful server who recommended the mussels, fish and chips, and salmon, our table ordered it all! Everything was so fresh and good sized portions.

What is offered on the card does not correspond to what you get. Pulled pork is a lot of fries and cheese with very little pulled pork. Brisket that has been prepared on the smoker for 16 hours should be tasty, but not overloaded with sauce. Not good.

My Airbnb host recommended this popular restaurant and it was a good tip. I called ahead early one evening to check on availability and was told that I could get a table. They seated me at a nice table by the window overlooking the harbor, which is lovely. My fried Sole was very fresh and nicely cooked. The "Prawns" were small, but also fresh and delicious. My rum and lemonade was tasty, refreshing, but not very strong. I tried to get a table the next day after a tour and was told there was an hour wait, so I dined elsewhere. Reasonable prices, good food and service, and excellent location, no wonder they're busy.

We had a drink the day before, we came back early in the morning for lunch. The view is very beautiful, over the port. Hearty breakfast, rather quick service and pleasant staff! We recommend.

It was crowded and noisy but staff was friendly and there was a fun vibe. The vegan options were vood: a burger, pasta, and even a great vegan dessert, a waffle with vegan ice cream and chocolate sauce.
