Lovely breakfast. Service could have been quicker but they looked to be short staffed although we were not in a hurry so not an issue

Cute place, shadowed by the longest wait, and dazzlingly disorganized service. Food was OK, but well, let start at the beginning. As we tried to book a table (in person, two days ago), we learned that Cuan Mor only takes walk-ins, unless the party has more than 6 people. Ok, so we tried our luck today. And indeed, a pleasant surprise, we swiftly got a table. Our drink and food order was taken shortly, however, once the drinks got poured, they were waiting abandoned at the bar as we oggled them longingly. As we finally got the drinks 10 minutes later, we were still in high spirits. Another 10 minutes passed until our server returned with a bad news: they ran out of brisket for my husband so alternitve choice had to be made. Well, the choice was made, however it took quite some time for the server to return and take the new order. As we waited for the next half an hour to receive our food (both orders were fairly simple - Tacos and Smoked meat platter), we observed our surroundings with interest. The kind servers were scurrying around looking often rather lost and exasperated. Several people got their food but had to wait for cuttlery while the food was getting cold. It would have been a bit amusing if it wasn't rather worrisome. Once the food arrived, I realized that my tacos contain onions which I cannot eat as they cause me migraines. This was unfortunately not specified on the menu, otherwise I would have asked for alternatives. As I got to re-assembling my tacos (I really did not want to risk another Iong wait) we received 3 servings of fries. Having ordered only one, we assumed fries come with each dish as well. It turns out not, as we learned upon receiving the bill. Or to be exact upon going to the bar to pay, to avoid further wait. While the food was OK, this was certainly a uniquely frustrating experience, the first such in our Scotland trip so far. I hope that this lovely place in a scenic location finds a way to live up to its potential to increase the satisfaction of customers and staff.

A great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner with a big variety of gluten free options. Including fish n chips and burgers with takeaway.

Food was lovely, and all the servers were really pleasant and very helpful 😊 Felt a little cramped in areas, a little packed in, especially in the table for 2 sections. However, selection and quality of food (including good options for vegans and vegetarians) are well worth a visit.

Visited on Sunday night. Staff so helpful. We had our dog with us and they brought him some water. I'm gluten intolerant and the were happy to explain the menu. I had the gluten free fish and chips and I have to say its the best I've had in a restaurant. Will be visiting again before we go home.

Breakfast was okay, not bad, but not great either

Great atmosphere, good food. Brisket and chicken pie were both very good, though they could have been warmer (lukewarm when they arrived). Sticky toffee pudding was great, service also very friendly.

Absolutely awesome place. Very rustic looking giving it a very homely feel. Busy when we was in, yet the staff was absolutely on top of everything. Food was really good, chicken wings where done to perfection, the meat just fell of the bones. The spicy chicken burger surprised me, it was a double, they have sweet onions on them, which changes the whole flavour of the burger. The chips are served in a little metal bucket for some meals, dependant on what you get.

Dog friendly in the heart of Oban. The food was yummy 😋. Pulled pork loaded fries, spicy chicken burger and wings and fish and chips. Servers are really attentive considering how busy they are. Rustic and comfortable decor. A little difficult for wheelchairs but the staff is helpful and accommodating.

Charming pub with a gorgeous view! Our wait was a little long, but the fish & chips and the chowder were delicious! Also, their chicken pie! The burger was good , but try the other stuff on the menu.

We had. Great experience. Very cosy and bad agreat vibes 0We went for dinner and we were lucky to find a table. Staff are very nice and friendly The food was really good. We had soup of the day ( cream of tomatoe), which was amazing Corn wings ( looker simple but tastes great) Haggies rigatoni ( was good) The main We had seabass with crab, which was excellent. Drinks we had mocktails we didn't love them. They were too sweet. I highly recommend this place and booking is advised.e

Very small portions breakfast like bird feed, no toast with breakfast, i asked for tooth pick, Waitress ignored rudley wearing red T shirt. Heredous customer service , untrained staff, keep away from this restuarent recommend.

We sat outside and was advised by a member of staff that they were not serving food outside and he would check if there was a table inside. Another member of staff was simultaneously showing people to their outside table and giving them food menus. Waited patiently outside before going if to find that we had been forgotten about and the original staff member was serving another table. No apology from him. Needless to say we didn't stay. The food might be nice but we didn't stay around to sample it. V disappointed.

I would not recommend, the food was fine but the service was terrible. Inattentive waiters and we had to wait for over an hour to get our main course even though it was not that busy…. Often the waitresses were just chatting with each other and not paying attention at all, it’s not nice to have to waive over someone when you have been looking at your empty glass for over 20 minutes.

This was an amazing place! The wait was about an hour, but they have a cool space to wait for your table and grab some drinks, so it was perfect. I got the Chicken Argyll and it was so delicious

Had amazing food that everyone loved. I had the ham and cheese baked baguette with coleslaw. Really enjoyed the baguette but the coleslaw had a lot of mayonnaise. Overall it’s a great place I highly recommend!

Stopped for lunch. Menu looked good so went in. Greeted by a friendly young lady and was allowed to chose our seat as long as it was for 2 people. Friendly young gentleman took our order and it was served by an exceptionally polite friendly young lady. Food and portion size was good. My only 2 constructive comments would be - tables are far too close together. At the time there was no one sitting either side of us but we would have felt uncomfortable if there was. Also, although we were going to leave a tip there was already a 10% service charge on the bill. This should always be a customer choice.

What a great find during our 2 day visit to Oban! The menu is thoughtful and has great options for vegetarians too. We had the vegetarian haggis that had lovely texture and was delicious! For main course, the Fish & chips and salmon fillet did not disappoint. They had veg curry with bread & rice on the menu which was perfect for my vegetarian parents too. The sticky toffee pudding was decadent!

Wrong order came and I was told to keep it( I didn't mind having the wrong order) . My order came and I didn't pay anything for either meal. My husband was happy to eat lots of fish. Food was fantastic

Used to love the fresh seafood menu. Obviously a new owner or chef! The food was horrible! All mostly deep fried and greasy! (It used to be so fresh with lovely sauces etc) I was really looking forward to the crabmeat starter and seafood platter....nowhere to be seen but replaced with deep fried greasy options or generic chain restaurant food! Avoid if possible!

We returned after a few years and we are just as pleased with our visit.

I was so terribly disappointed. We were both looking forward to our Sunday lunch! It was absolutely appalling. My Chowder had no seasoning whatsoever, although my partner did enjoy his Scottish Nachos. Our Roast Beef was the worst I have ever had. Nothing at all was fresh or home made, every element on the plate was frozen and the frozen carrots were also rotten. The service was poor, the wine I ordered to have with my meal arrived as I was finishing, as did the horse radish. We even struggled to get the bill. We didn't bother making the staff aware as they were completely disinterested!

Fantastic food!!, welcoming, professional, and friendly staff. We also had our dog with us, who was also made to feel very welcome with dog treats and a bowl of water. A must do food stop... Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous, the best meal that I've had out in a long time, the seafood chowder to start was epic, could easily have that as a main course, I had the venison lasagne for main and it was delicious, the chips were the best I've ever had, perfectly crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, none of this triple cooked rubbish, can not fault the food, service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed

Nice ambience. Liked the quirky boulder suspended on a rope! Food was excellent ( ham and haddie, chicken and haggis ). No room for the cranachan, maybe next time.

Decided to pop into Cuan Mor for a bite to eat when we decided to have a nice day out in Oban. Setting of the restaurant in on the Main Street over looking the bay and if you are lucky enough like we were to get a window seat you also have a wonderful outlook. The restaurant was steady and we were soon sat down and given the menus. The Better half ordered the soup which I think was broccoli and some sort of cheese I think and for a main she opted for the fake Chick*n burger. I decided on the Tattie scones with haggis and black pudding for a starter with Fish & chips from the Lunch menu. Our drinks were brought to the table and somehow my fresh orange and lemonade had came as a soda and lime🤷🏻‍♂️ which was offered to be exchanged but I opted to just keep it. Just to say well done on the waiting staff being attentive to our order, they came back to tell the better half that her soup had chicken stock in it so she changed it for baked Camembert. Both courses when they came out were delicious and piping hot and filled us up so much so that unfortunately we had no room for desserts which was a shame as they sounded amazing. We will definitely return when back in Oban and would recommend the restaurant to anybody.

Got the scottish nachos for starter which was tasty but was £8 and was very small for that price I feel. Was a tattie scone cut in to like 3 bits an half a black pudding if that. Got venison burger which tasted like a frozen burger and this was £14.50 which I expected much higher standards. Beer was nice though.

Lovely evening meal here , I was away with a work party of 4 , we all enjoyed our meal, The salt and chilli prawns were exceptional 😋. I would highly recommend and definitely go back.

Hi, this is my second visit to the Cuan Mor and enjoyed my visit once again. Myself and my wife decided to have a meal here as we had enjoyed a lunch here a few years ago and I had the Chicken Argyll which was a small chicken supreme on a bed of haggis and mashed potato with a whisky sauce, but there was very little haggis, and even less whisky in the sauce to the point of not being able to taste it at all, that being said, I enjoyed what I had. My wife decided to get the Sunday roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and veg, she said the roast beef was nice enough but looked like it was the last of it as it was lots of little bits with one slice on top, instead of a couple of slices, there was also minimal gravy over the beef and none at all over the Yorkshire pudding, (also noticed someone else complaining about the shortage of gravy) now who wants a dry Yorkshire pudding, it was left. The service was good and I feel that with a couple of tweeks to food being presented it would be very good. Also a bug bearer of mine, putting a service charge on your bill is not for me, I should be able to decide if I had good service and then tip as required, not the establishment your job is to serve your customers, or would you like them to come and serve themselves, if I was you I would stop this as it really annoy's a lot of customers and subsequently they don't leave a tip.

Fantastic food!!!! Great customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I would recommend the salt and chilli king prawns with sweet chilli and ginger dip and the ham and haddie. My husband loved the fish and chips. The best meal I think I’ve ever had.

We were looking for a dog friendly lunch spot while passing through Oban and this went above our expectations. These guys are SUPER dog friendly which we absolutely loved. They provided our furry friend with water and her own plate of treats and even offered her to sit on a seat as they could see she was cold from the rain. They also took time to make a fuss of her which she thoroughly enjoyed. The food was great, we especially enjoyed the Scottish “nachos” and the seafood chowder. Staff were really friendly and the place had a welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. We would definitely recommend to anyone but especially if you are travelling with a dog.

I’m completely baffled with all the good reviews but whatever all entitled to an opinion. We ordered 3 fish n chip afternoon teas and a Sunday dinner, forget to fetch the teas so asked for them which came as we finished meal and cafe not that busy. When my fish arrived I actually told her is that a joke it’s like a fish finger but was stopped from sending it back as our party in a bit of a rush and the ones that had the fish said it’s the worst we’ve all ever had ever and easily the thinnest fish possible must have sliced it with a razor and the Sunday dinner got an just ok then went to charge extra for the teas and what a shambles then she said would you like to take the massive service charge off as it’s optional hahahahah what a joke she’s knew the meals were sub standard and should have offered half price at least. Defo not returning

The place itself is lovely fantastic atmosphere felt really relaxing. The food is great and the staff were lovely, very friendly and to improve we would say staff could be a little more attentive. Had we have been asked, we were in the mood for a few more drinks and pudding. They were doing stuff like in and out of the kitchen and paperwork. by the time we were asked it had passed and just ordered the bill. Overall it was a lovely place, very friendly and would recommend. The food was fabulous.

Lovely place to go for whatever type of dinner you're doing, formal or casual. Very helpful staff and dog friendly! They also helped with a nice subtle surprise for my friend's birthday with no singing involved. Thanks guys you made her day.

i’m still thinking about my experience a few months ago in October when Joe (Joseph) baked me personally the best peppered stake pasty that i’ve ever had in my life! it filled my soul, and the cappuccino he made along with it was a hug more comforting than a mothers love. the costumer service that i received that day fulfilled me as a person and filled a hole in my life that i didn’t even realize was missing. i can’t wait to return and experience the joy of joe’s customer service again! cheers! xx

Can't fault the food or the service in any way. Really delicious and super efficient and friendly respectively. One small issue stopped a 5 star review though. The 'gin of the month' special wasn't a gin, but was a gin liqueur which costs less than half the cost of a proper gin and is only 20% volume in comparison to a regular gin at 40+ Felt a little cheated.

If you prefer a vegetarian option, the cauliflower and kale burger will not disappoint.

We had an excellent Lunch here with a great choice of food to choose from and very reasonable cost. We enjoyed the excellent food so much we returned again that night for our evening meal, again enjoying a good selection of delicious food. We will certainly return in the future and highly recommend this restaurant.

I had the venison pie which i am sure whole plate of food was stuck in the microwave. Pie on top of dryed up mash with hard peas and shrivelled carrots. horrible gravy. I could only eat the meat from the pie which was OK,...

Cosy restaurant on the waterfront in Oban. Limited menu but something for everyone's taste. Quick service and good food. Portions and prices are decent.

Waited 45 minutes for our food, suspect the waitstaff either didn’t put it in or the kitchen forgot it, but the staff would not admit it and kept putting us off with “it’s almost ready.” Disappointing to say the least, given the lovely atmosphere and location.

We were very disappointed Staff were not welcoming. I ordered Sole and prawns. Prawns were nice Sole I'm sure was out of the freezer?? Wasn't that good have had better out of Aldi. I asked the manager if fish was local he said not Oban...

Really good wide variety of options. I got the chicken Katsu Curry and it did not disappoint apart from the fact that the rice’s quantity was little. My group got the fish and chips and burgers and they were all good. Its location is also...

The venison lasagna was delicious

Service was a little slower than previous visits but very friendly. Food as good as usual and reasonably priced. Drinks also good with a nice range of draft and bottle beers and wine. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely meal here, really lovely and helpful staff and great food, the vegan cheesecake was delicious ! Would recommend! We also loved the music taste 😀

I am here on a January Wednesday night when they have a special price on their signature burgers, except for the steak burger. I had the Venison burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The atmosphere and service are exemplary. I’m very sure to return if I travel back to Oban on another trip to Scotland.

Really friendly,helpful staff on arrival. Then served a cold ,hot chocolate, which they replaced. Chose a dish each from the lunch menu £10.50 each Clare's Marie Rose sauce was tasteless. My tiny bowl of seafood chowder had very little seafood, no potatoes but too much...

Visited again on 01/01/24 with friends. Very short of staff FOH and they remained polite and did their best. We waited 1 hour for food but it was ok. The burger 🍔 my friend had was a really cheap Pattie and dry..the burger looked like it had signed up to a new year weight loss plan...little cheese or anything else. My special Chicken dish was fine although the portion was quite small but it was only £13.00. We enjoyed the company and watched countless potential diners turned away from empty tables due to the staffing challenges. Hopefully they'll get it sorted before the season and beef up their quality on burgers. I'd probably go to Gelatoburger (also owned by same company) but better burgers. ********************* Cuan Mhor is one of the more popular, quality eats in Oban. It's owned by the Sloane Ranger as is half the town these days but this one is a decent shout for mid range dining. It's very busy at peak times and it's located centrally opposite the Bay. We enjoyed our food (Venison Pie 🥧 , Flat Iron Steak 🥩 & frites and Big ice-cream based pud. The service was good even though it was really busy. You can't book unless you have 6 or more so you might want to have a Plan B if you can't get a table when you visit.

Great place for some drinks and casual dining. They have several options meat, fish to cater different tastes. Their salmon, fish and chips, hamburger and mussels were tested and are really good.

Stopped by mainly for a warm drink, cold and wet day when we visited, but one look at the menu and I was really hungry, we had the steak and fries, came with garlic mushrooms and a peppercorn sauce, absoluty lovely, would well recomend stopping here. We will return one day, that I promise.

Such a wonderful spot in Oban. We were excited to taste some of the fish on the menu. I tried the seabass and my husband had the salmon. For the price, we had high expectations. However first mouthful, I just had bones from my seabass. Very alarming and disappointing. So had to mash my way through the rest of the meal. Made me a bit nervous as the bones found, were quite big. We did mention this to a member of staff and he just offered to swap the fish. But I persevered. The staff were too busy on bigger tables to bother about us. So a meal that cost us almost £60 - 2 main meals and 2 drinks. We were left disappointed. Shame.

The staff were fantastic on arrival with our dog. Just the best place we’ve been to in a long time. The starter of Scottish Nachos which is made from black pudding, haggis and peppercorn sauce was awesome! 😀

Food was average (but expected for the price). Seems staff were prioritising a big group over smaller tables. 12.5% discretionary service charge is wrong for a table of 2 at lunch time

Such a great place to eat and socialise with very friendly staff who are so helpful, especially with folk with food allergies. Definitely a place we will come back too!
