Second Sunday lunch in two weeks and can only say that for 3 courses at £13, this is exceptional value for money. Portions are quite adequate and very tasty. Service is excellent and the restaurant itself is a very pleasant place to spend a few hours.

It's cheep and cheerful you pay for what you get. The only thing I wish is different veg at times. Staff are friendly and helpful.

What a total shambles, we used to go there as a family quite often and the food was quite good but now it’s like they just don’t care any more, one person had roast lamb, that had been cocked in the microwave, another had steak which had to go back as it tasted and smelled very strange, some one else had roast chicken and it came out as chicken chunks like you get from the frozen isle in a supermarket, it honestly was a disgrace.

The lunch menu looked inviting and for £7 you could not find better. I had the spaghetti bolognese and my husband had fish and chips. The meal was served in a clean and comfortable dining room. Not the best I ever had but certainly tasty.

What amazing value, lovely food & great service The Farmers are once again giving. Had Sunday lunch with hubby & sister in law last Sunday. Minestrone soup, Pork & Apple crumble with icecream, Prawn cocktail, beef & strawberries & cream, Egg mayo, chicken & Apple crumble with custard all fort £11 a head. All delicious & service was very good. Will definately go again & plan to try lunch menu too which is £7 for 2 courses during week.

Had Sunday Lunch here with friends, amazing value £11.00 for three courses £9 for two courses, limited choice of starters all had roast dinners, which were really nice, plenty of meat and veg, could have done with a couple more roast potatoes, crumble with ice cream and cheesecake for dessert, wouldn’t complain about anything. Would happily have paid more, absolute bargain and happily go back again ! Probably would be a bit posher if you pay £17.99 for a Roast in a village pub, give it a go.

Although the restaurant is bright and clean with tables laid with tablecloths the food leaves much to be desired. We went a couple of weeks ago and the Sunday Roast was nicely presented. The meat and Yorkshire pud on the main plate and the vegetables and cauliflower cheese in separate dishes. This week was very below standard. The Sunday Roast was already plated, the roast potatoes soggy, peas shrivelled, a dollop of cauliflower cheese and the gravy was congealed. No wonder the restaurant was empty.

Having visited the hotel's restaurant on several occasions in the past 6 months, I can honestly say the owners have got it right. All food is homemade, well cooked and generous portions are served. The restaurant area is spotlessly clean and the kitchen has been refurbished within the last few weeks. The lunch menu has several tasty choices but the liver & bacon is exceptional. With a couple of drinks for two people plus meals the bill will come to around £25. Very reasonable.

Was truly awful, disgusting food and staff who didn't know what they were doing.we had to clear tables ourselves as nobody came to do it,had to wait an hour between courses and my wife even had to take food order to kitchen, they did refund 75 pounds of our money but we don't think this good enough as still cost over 200 pounds.if we didn't have to pay in advance i wouldn't of gave them a penny,it ruined Christmas and will never visit again,Avoid at all cost very very poor

Eaten here several times at lunchtime. Never been disappointed with the food or service. Fairly small dining area but at midday there is usually a vacant table or two. A small but varied menu that would suit most tastes, nicely presented by friendly staff and at a very reasonable price. From the bar, try Lillie's Cider. A classic local brew. Totally recommended.

A long and narrow room, not very welcoming. It’s difficult to find a table that’s not looking at the entrance to the loos. This is a cheap and cheerful eating place. My friend was happy with her plaice and chips but my fish pie was appalling. Strange grey lumps of fish, fortunately not very much. There were plenty of prawns which did give flavour. The whole thing was covered in brown gravy - not what I wanted since I don’t eat meat.

out and about looking for a steak in Warminster and although the Farmers has Italian owners we had been told the steak was good , we were not disappointed i like mine rare and my good lady prefers med rare . This was a great piece of steak cooked to perfection mine still pink (but it still fell apart in the mouth) and my ladies as she had asked med , so all in all good food good service and not a silly price. So it's not the greatest setting, but the food is fabulous and really good value for money, but seriously I mean it when I say it's good. Lovely favours. I would go there every weekend if I didn't live two hours away. I know where I'm eating next time I'm down that way though. Great way to finish the day after visiting longleat Festival of Lights.

In a hurry to find a dining venue, we looked at the evening menu, but as we were not particularly hungry we asked if the bar menu was still available. The waitress still allowed us to used the restaurant (admittedly not busy at the time) and carefully checked availability of foods for us. We had an excellent, very reasonably priced, roast which was extremely well served. Although on a town street corner, it was quiet. Would have welcomed a family I am sure.

Visited during a lunch period, there was an offer for 2 courses £7 or 3 courses £9...now some might say at that price you can't really complain but in my opinion we just don't enough as we just settle and accept. Minestrone was our starter and evidently was straight from a tin, I ordered plaice, new potatoes and as the veg was peas! I opted for a salad instead, the plaice came in breadcrumbs was over cooked so I removed the crumbs to have a misley 2 fork mouthfuls only of fish, the salad was 1x slice of cucumber and a slither of tomato not even worth putting on the plate as was 3x tiny new potatoes. My partner had liver and bacon which was ok although the gravy was really runny, needless to say we didn't bother with a pudding. Staff were polite and fact the tables had white linen tablecloths and fresh roses on was nice shame the food was such a let down.

Booked this hotel as somewhere to stay due to a day trip to Longleat. Firstly, its an old building (300 years) so has character e.g squeeky floorboards and sloping floors/walls and unfortunately does not really have a car park although you are allowed to park...

Once again another fantastic meal at The Farmers. The staff were friendly and attentive, we were served very quickly and the staff were very professional. Calamari for starters were hot, crispy and cooked to perfection. I had funghi risotto, cooked again to perfection. My friend had spaghetti carbonara and said it was the best she had ever eaten. The lemoncello panna cotta was just delicious - compliments to the Chef. The wine choice was very good. The prices do not reflect the quality of the food - exceptionally good value for money. The presentation of the food was also good.

stayed here overnight on our wedding night and had meals here several times and food and service was excellent, but booked a table for two last fri (30/8/14) and I have to say the place has gone downhill since it was taken over. staff spent entire time by the bar messing about and laughing. we had a long wait to order and about half an hour for our wine. we were still waiting for our meal almost an hour later by which time we had to eat our bread sticks as we were so hungry, then a waiter came over to ask us if our meal was ok! even though still had no food. Then people who arrived after us got served. by this time we decided enough was enough and went to the bar to pay for the wine. we complained about our experience to the man behind the bar (dressed in a suit) who failed to utter one word,no apology or anything. I can honestly say we will never return and strongly advise others to steer clear.

We lunched here with our parents during February 2014. If you're driving, you might be lucky and find a space on the road outside, otherwise, you'll need to walk from the car park.I believe the restaurant is under new management and we were keen to check out the changes. There is a distinctly Italian feel to the decor and the table dressing has changed considerably. There were new grey table cloths with bread sticks, wine bottles and fresh flowers displayed on every table. The food was standard Sunday lunch fare; there was a choice of three starters, the usual roasts plus a fish and veggie option for the main and three puds. All were were adequate rather than outstanding. I selected Roast Lamb for my main and it reminded me of the frozen Braised meat roasts from the 70's. Plenty of veg in evidence, but, for my taste, it was all a bit over cooked. I ordered a Diet Coke to drink (driving!) and it was served from a large bottle at room temperature. In fairness, I was offered ice, but I'm not keen on diluted drinks.Service was efficient and timely and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The clientele consisted almost entirely of regulars 'of a certain age'.Friendly and good value - two courses for nine quid, or three for eleven quid, but only average fare.

Stayed in hotel 1 night before a family trip to Longleat. No reviews were available, so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Freshly cooked food to order. Beautifully cooked, huge portions. Accommodating & friendly staff. Can't praise highly enough. Everything we ordered was tasty & well made. Veg was sweet & perfectly cooked. Homemade desserts were too hard to resist! Can't believe how much my children ate too! They loved it. Breakfast was equally amazing. And all on doorstep of accommodation. Well worth a visit. Very reasonably priced too.

There are two ladies who work in here who are unfailingly polite, cheerful, unobtrusive and friendly. The reason for my adding of an extra star from my previous review is because of them. However, it seems that this branch of Costa attracts young male staff who are loud, use audible bad language and are over familiar (I object to being called ‘mate’). When I come to a Costa, I am expecting/hoping that I won’t be disturbed or distracted by very loud conversations, lots of ‘f’ words and inane ‘banter’.
