We have visited this lovely pub a few times while staying overnight before our flights and just had a few drinks. We found the staff very friendly. In May we decided to try the food and we thoroughly enjoyed our gammon. Very good value. When the chap took our plates we told him to tell the chef it was very tasty. A while later the chef came out to thank us for the lovely compliment. We are travelling again very soon so will definitely be eating in this pub in Northenden.

Absolutely dire! The meals are awful, burnt & greasy, waste of money, much nicer eateries in the area. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

Only call in here if I'm passing. Just got a lightly battered fish & chips but they were excellent. Nice chunky fish & tasty. Might call more often.

I've visited multiple times and always had a great experience. Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch with family, featuring a delicious roast dinner and a well-thought-out children's menu. The service is excellent, and the staff is always warm and welcoming.

The managers Troy, Kendal, and staff are attentive, well-dressed and well-groomed They are responsive to their customer needs, provide good customer service that is both courteous, prompt and quick, checking on their customers often; they make the 'dining experience' more personal, and are always willing to go that 'extra mile'. The food is of a high quality and has a good flavour, aroma, appearance, and texture. The Eagle and Child is a 'must' visit, you will not be disappointed! Ho can you improve on perfection..................YOU CANNOT!!!

I was in the area and decided to pop into Summerseat Garden Centre—and I’m so glad I did! Plenty of parking out front, which is always a win (no circling around like a vulture looking for a space). Inside, the shelves were well stocked, and the plant selection was impressive. I picked up a couple of rhubarb plants—healthy, strong, and hopefully ready to fuel a future crumble or two. Prices were very reasonable, which is always a pleasant surprise in a garden centre! I didn’t get a chance to visit the café, but it was busy—always a good sign. A place packed with people and cake? Probably worth a visit next time. To top off the experience, as I was wrestling with a bag of compost, a young lad collecting trolleys stopped what he was doing to help me load my car—a small gesture, but the kind of customer service that sticks with you. All in all, a great visit—friendly staff, good prices, and a fantastic selection. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!
