We have visited this lovely pub a few times while staying overnight before our flights and just had a few drinks. We found the staff very friendly. In May we decided to try the food and we thoroughly enjoyed our gammon. Very good value. When the chap took our plates we told him to tell the chef it was very tasty. A while later the chef came out to thank us for the lovely compliment. We are travelling again very soon so will definitely be eating in this pub in Northenden.

Absolutely dire! The meals are awful, burnt & greasy, waste of money, much nicer eateries in the area. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

We have tried most of the lunchtime menu here and have to say it has all been super quality and great value. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Only call in here if I'm passing. Just got a lightly battered fish & chips but they were excellent. Nice chunky fish & tasty. Might call more often.

Eagle and child is a lovely pub/restaurant inside and out, large outdoor seating area with covered teepee (presume used during summer). Lovely food, great service. A little more expensive than average but the quality more than makes up for the price. Beers a little expensive again but exceptionally clean lines and great taste offset it to a degree Will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely food .. stopped off for lunch (fancied a walk after a meeting so followed the Brown Country Park Sign (those Worth a Visitation Whilst Your Here Signs) off the main road so we decided to go on a little Winter Walkies and eating first is always a good idea. Really close to Burrs Country Park so we walked back to the Garsdale for lunch .. the lady that served us was attentive and the food was lovely .. well worth it .. we went into another pub on Burrs Country Park (can't remember name) that was really busy yet really cold (I walked out far too noisy for me) .. so glad that we had stopped off at the Garsdale first it was warm and friendly hubster also mentioned he liked the choice of Ales too 👌👍

Warm, cosy and welcoming with friendly staff serving delicious food at reasonable prices. Their offers on steak on Thursdays are fantastic value as are the small budget small plate 3 course menu for pensioners. The main menu has a good variety of dishes for all tastes and meal requirements. Their coffee and cake offer is a good alternative to the Coffee shops !!
