Went for the craft fair which was excellent, lots of if stalls in a large marquee with lovely items on sale. Checked out the farm shop which was well stocked with lots of delicious looking food and drinks. Noticed the cakes were huge! Didn't go to the cafe but it looked popular. Would definitely return to do some food shopping.

Wonderful service, food and venue for my husband's 90th birthday celebrations. Heather, Andrew and their team went to great lengths to provide the event that we wanted even to providing extra Yorkshire puddings despite the temperature in the high 20's!! We had the venue for as long as we wished with no pressure to leave. So thanks to all at Farmer Copley's. Highly recommended. Chris W a follow up from the previous review 6 years ago. This time it wasn't celebrating George's birthday but sadly his passing. We had day of mixed emotions. Very sad as we said goodbye to George but then a celebration of his life at Farmer Copley's. George always enjoyed hosting a good party and loved having people around him. He would be looking down on us with approval! The team at Farmer Copley's certain did him proud and we ended the day with a happy smile on our faces. So once again a huge thank you to the team. Chris

I deal day-to-day in an industry where you pay over the odds for an exceptional service. I get that for a warm welcome, attentive service, a great atmosphere, nice chairs and posh napkins there is a premium to pay. However, there isn’t a bacon sandwich in the world that would be good enough to warranty paying £10 for. Or £4 for toast. Especially not one that was so full of liquid the bread fell to bits and was left in a plate of sloppy mush. I often ask myself, if the chef saw that: 1) would they eat it themself? 2) would they pay £10 for it. That being said, the service staff are fantastic. Always have been. It would be expensive for amazing food, but it’s extortionate for average food I used to use Farmer Copleys regularly but I think that’s the last time.

This review is regarding the butchers. I spent £90 on meat with the advice of the butcher. 4no aged fillet steak that I cooked medium rare and they were very chewy and had a very unpleasant taste so they were thrown away. 2no aged ribeye steak that I cooked medium rare, these were thrown away too due to a taste of something like mouldy milk. 1no Lamb Henry that tasted quite good, but it was nearly all bone and fat. So all together I will just keep calling here for the Tomatoe sausage which I cannot fault and I brag to everyone, even restaurants that I visit, it tastes amazing.

First time visit, really disappointed. Place was pretty empty and cold, uninviting. Ordered afternoon tea for two £35, asked to upgrade a tea to hot chocolate, nope....only option to buy at full price for £5.50 ! Spread was pretty expansive, not sure £17 worth though. Sandwiches ok, quiche ok. Cake selection pretty odd, one macaron (tasteless) , battenburg, custard slice and a scone. No cakes etc.You only get one cup of hot drink no refills. We never saw any staff again, no one came to ask if ok. No offer of a box to take away and no acknowledgement on leaving. Though 4 of them did stand around talking, while tables went uncleared. All in all not a good experience and we won't return.

Decorations are fantastic and staff get into the spirit of things by dressing up and greeting customers with a friendly smile and great service! Food is lovely, we just had sausage sandwiches to start the day but there is an extensive menu to choose from. A bit pricey but good value for the exceptional quality and generous portions. We have visited many times and it never disappoints. As well as the main restaurant, there is a new dessert cafe that we have yet to try and a fantastic shop to browse around. We came to Farer Copley's for the Pumpkin Festival, on the Saturday before Halloween! We picked an earlier arrival time (9:15am) because we know it would get busy - and we're so glad we did as the morning definitely seemed quieter than the afternoon :) Plenty to do! Included in your ticket price was: - Fab shows (sheep show, story time and the fancy dress show - this was my daughter's favourite as it was basically a mini disco!!) You could also pay for: - The fairground rides (£3 per person a ride) - Tractor Barrel Ride (£3 per person again) - Pumpkins - Food and Drink We stayed for around 4 hours and never got bored! The only reason we knocked a star off was we didn't see the 40 varieties of pumpkins promised! Plenty of traditional orange ones, and a few green ones but that was all to pick really. There was a few other varieties but these were all in displays that you couldn't take which was a shame, as it was one of the reasons we'd picked Farmer Copley's!

I’ve been coming for at least five or six years but this year has lost its magic. Completely money focused. Pumpkins were rotting (what happened to all the different varieties you could pick?) and the ones we did manage to find were extortionate. Kids kicking the rotting ones across the field. More like a food festival with the sheer amount of food vendors. There used to be little owls and snakes you could hold but that’s stopped in place for an overpriced funfair in overcrowded fields full of mud. Absolutely tons of smokers this year… I thought this was an event for the kids. The entrance fee has risen in price substantially over the years. It just isn’t fun anymore. You’re only there for the money you can spend and we are so disappointed in what this special place has become. Will be finding smaller events to attend next year.

We used to visit Farmer Copleys often 4-5 years ago and it was always a treat. Not cheap but really tasty food, clean surroundings and an all round pleasant experience ... sadly after visiting this week it has certainly gone downhill. The food was expensive and a long way from being good. Perhaps if the prices were cut in half I'd have accepted it as okay. The floor was filthy, debris, crumbs etc surrounding the tables. High chair for baby was unclean and dusty. Needed cleaning off with a baby wipe before we went anywhere near it with our toddler. We won't be rushing back. Shame really. Disappointed. 2 adults and a baby (cost £38) very expensive for what we had.

Dogs should be banned from coming to the pumpkin festival, or at least ill-mannered dog owners who want a dog but are too lazy to clean up after their pets should be reprimanded. Disappointing as the staff, photo opportunities, & sheep show were lovely. It's a shame the dog poo ordeal ruined our experience.

We visited for dinner on 1/3/25. Service was abrupt and unfriendly. Food was delicious. The dining area was so jam packed , we could not move our chairs out without hitting other diners squeezed in behind us. A large party was being accommodated, who were loud and leery. Would have helped in the staff were more in control of the party and if so many guests, maybe open another floor. We were packed in, it was loud like the vault of a pub. I wouldn’t go there again.
