Just returned home after spending the Bank Holiday weekend at the Campsite with friends. This was our fourth visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend, the campsite area is very organised & well maintained, with hardstanding level pitches, with an area of grass for each pitch. Everything clean & tidy, and with amazing views of a sizable lake & river running alongside the camping area. Great site for walking your dogs, with bins for waste/rubbish. The showers/toilets were very clean & water was hot. Each had its own sink, toilet & shower in the same area, so it was very convenient. Two of the toilets/showers were shared with the Tea Room/Cafe, and it was asked that they were left clear during the time they were open, for use by the customers, which wasn't a issue, as they were open at all other times of the day. The Tea Room served light meals/snacks & drinks, which were really good with especially good homemade cakes 😊 There were both inside & outside tables. There was also a garden centre with a variety of plants for sale, all being of good quality. We all had a great weekend away, and thought the location was excellent, and was only a short trip to the sites of the Lake District. The lake on site is available for fishing at a charge. My husband says it's for 'fly fishing'. Finally, the staff/owners. They all made us feel very welcome & nothing was too much trouble, so thank you, and we will be back again soon xx

It was only an overnight stay before heading into Windermere so luckily we weren’t there long. Views were lovely but the facilities were something else… two toilets/showers at the back of the cafe which were not clean or usable to any standard. At £30 a night it’s not much to ask for! Then the drinking water taps which were available to caravaners.. the water was cloudy!! We asked two other couples staying on site at the time who said ‘They didn’t notice until then’. No reflection to the cafe as the food looked lovely and our Biscoff Rocky Road was the only positive to our stay! But the campsite needs some serious looking into too. Never again.

My husband and I visited the tearoom today. We thought we would have lunch so we were disappointed that the menu was so limited compared to last year, we had not realised that the menu had changed. I had a mug of soup, didnt realise it didnt come with bread, but the price was only £2.50, I would have paid extra for it if offered bread. I had carrot cake but it didnt have the lovely cream cheese icing you normally get, It was just icing sugar mixed with water, quite boring. My husband had quiche which was very nice.

What a great little tea room. Just what we needed after 95km on the bike. Super views of the fishing lakes and very friendly staff. The coffees were lovely, as was the lemon drizzle cake and currant sugared pie. Defo worth a visit. Many thanks.

Every time we visit Farleton View team rooms we enjoy the home baked cakes and scones. The quiche is my favourite, as well as the sausage rolls if I want a tasty light lunch. Last night we had a lovely stopover in our Motorhome , beautiful , clean , quite site with friendly helpful owners. Added bonus we watched the fireworks on a distant hill. Quick look round the plants in the morning , followed by toasted tea cake and a cheese scone . Excellent

Have loved visiting here for lunch for some years. Today was disappointing as not much savoury choice. A great place for delicious cakes and puddings, but we came away and bought a sandwich elsewhere as our soup didn’t satisfy us enough. Very friendly as always, but will avoid visiting when we are hungry. We feel the cyclists may be disappointed going all the way out there to find no bacon and egg butties!

After frequenting this place regularly, was very disappointed they've significantly reduced the menu, this season, due to a staff member retiring 🤔. When I say significantly, I really mean this. Soup in a mug! homemade sausage roll! and quiche as a lunch menu.. Not quiche and salad... just a piece of quiche and tiny tub of relish. Quite honestly.. I'm baffled!! It used to be a fab place for a lite lunch. After asking, the breakfast menu has been eliminated too. Sorry, but I won't be going again..sadly. Beautiful views and the staff very pleasant..that was the only positive today.

I am absolutely disgusted at the way in which we were treated here this morning - my partner and I came for breakfast and had food and drinks. As we have a motorhome and there were pitches available we spoke to a gentleman who told us to have a quick look around, which we did. We were then confronted by screaming across the whole park and cafe, by a woman (later found out to be the owner) telling us we had no right to look around, amongst other things. My partner and I were totally shocked, firstly because we were told we could look around and secondly by the totally unprovoked, extremely aggressive behaviour. I did go and approach the lady privately to explain that the man had said we could look around. We were then met by another round of verbal abuse about 'how dare we look around her park'. I do not believe any other human has the right to make anyone feel the way we were made to feel on this morning. All I can say is thank god this happened before we booked a pitch as I can not imagine a stay here would be pleasant - even one of the other people staying here appeared embarrassed by her behaviour. I would suggest anybody avoid staying here, as the treatment received felt embarrassing and degrading.

We have been visiting Farleton Tearoom several years, have sampled many of the menu choices and can honestly say that everything has been delicious. All dishes are freshly cooked or prepared to order and the variety of cakes, puddings and tray bakes, all homemade, is second to none! There is a relaxed atmosphere in the tearoom where there is seating inside, in the conservatory or you may choose to dine Alfresco on the patio. We always look forward to our visit where we know we will receive a warm welcome and a delicious meal thanks to the Robinson Family.

This is a small tearoom close to [2 minutes away from] Junction 36 on the M6 motorway near Kendal. It is a little tricky to find (directions at the end of this review) but very well worth the trouble. It is a small family run tea room that also serves delicious home made lunches between 12.00 and 14.00. No burgers or other junk food - just real dishes, freshly made and served with lovely salad. The tearoom, with lots of wonderful cakes, stays open until 16.00.It great peaceful stop on a long M6 journey with a chance to wander over to talk to the hens and lambs, see the lake, and generally chill out before tackling the motorway with all the thundering heavy lorries again. There is also another favourite place of ours about a mile along the lane called Woodlands Nursery where you'll find great plants for your garden, but that's another story! Now the directions ........ From Junction 36 on the M6, take the A65 eastwards [towards Kirkby Lonsdale] until the first roundabout, then A6070 towards Holme. After the Auction Market (around 500m from the roundabout) turn left and continue over the M6. Farletonview is a few hundred metres later on the left hand side. It's only 2-3 minutes from the M6.

Terrible customer service! The young girl at the till clearly did not want to be there. She was huffing and puffing at customers! Yes, it was very busy as yesterday, 15th October was a beautiful autumn day but I would think they would be glad of end of season trade! I could not sit down because they were so busy so opted to ask for take away coffee and cake, only to be told by her 'I'm not doing take away'. Really? The local co-op is closed for a refurbishment and they really could capitalise on that if they employed more capable, less miserable staff! Shocking!! Won't return!

Called here for a takeaway lunch, used them several times before. Service was disappointing to say the least. Not a please or thankyou from the ladies working in the shop - even when I pointed out they'd only charged me for 1 flat white! Previous reviews also highlight the fact that the staff are miserable, they respond but do nothing to address the concerns raised. Also, I would've thought that as u was the only customer in the shop on a very wet day would have been positive for them - obviously not! Not sure I'll return here.

Visited here with my Dad today. Asked for a tea cake and then a scone both not on the menu anymore. I had a bagel with salmon and cream cheese paid over £8 and that was it no sides, no even a bit of salad - didn’t taste great. Called in for a coffee and snack after our frequent walk along the bay and round back into Arnside. When this first opened I was a little wary as we are used to small intimate tea/coffee shops in Arnside. However this was our second visit and as we entered we were greeted by obviously the front of house guy “David”. Wow does this guy know how to do it Welcoming ,friendly, Northern (always a bonus). Had a lovely coffee and Hubby had a great crisp bacon bun. The vibe in this cafe/restaurant is great., modern but great service. We live quite locally and are encouraged to go in the evening now as well. In our opinion the best restaurants are always about the front of house and Crossfields has it right. Everyone in this place has a great view of our beautiful Morecambe bay.
