Famous Chef in North Hertfordshire

Utter garbage £28 for nothing, save your money and go somewhere else, I feel a call to environmental health coming on

Tried this place for the first time. Food very bland & mediocre, even the prawn crackers were tasteless & will not be ordering from here again.

Really good experience. Food was tasty, delivery was on time and price was reasonable. I also called after I ordered and asked for modifications on a couple of dishes and they were happy to help. Will definitely order again.

How insulting when you order and pay for a takeaway and can't even eat it so bad it is! The frying oil must have been used over a year!

Took an order on Uber Eats then cancelled at the time the delivery was due.

Unfortunately lately the service hasn't been great waited over an hour for 3 items and when I called them to query twice they had clearly forgotten the order even thought i paid over the phone and the payment had been taken, bare in mind we are regular customers.

Great food, nice people and great delivery service, highly recommended.

Needed Gluten free options. They were very knowledgeable. Delivery was about 20mins. To Letchworth on a Wednesday evening at 5.00. about 20 min wait. Food was very hot, gluten free items were in a separate order and a were delicious. The pancake rolls were HUGE. Almost a meal on their own. Best Chinese food experience for many a year.

Our current preferred Chinese delivery in the area. Been trying a lot of the local businesses and ordered our last 5 from here. Good menu range, normally get Cantonese style dishes and they taste really good. Great value too. Initially put off by some of the poorer reviews and lack of website etc, but glad we tried it.

Superb find, very tasty and always enjoyable. Staff are lovely and prices and quality are excellent Can highly recommend

Nothing wrong with the food but very disappointed with the service tonight. Normally good but not this time. Took hour and a half from ordering to delivery and to make it worse the complaint handling was also terrible.

Have always had takeaways from here but tonight very disappointed waited over an hour having rang at 5.30pm & the food was lukewarm

I have just had my second takeaway from the Famous Chef.(Baldock) Both times amazing food and good sized potions. I am a great believer in honesty (This goes a long way in my book) and after my partner over paying the delivery driver by £10 (£10 notes stuck together) for him to then pop back to the door and give it back to us just goes to show that there are genuine people out there!! What a really decent chap!! Will definitely keep using & recommending Famous Chef Baldock!!

This place made me so sick! My sister suggested trying it.. awful.. sickness was worse than covid!

Great all around. Will be ordering there again.

I’ve never had a problem with these guys I like to book in advance and the food has been hot and served on time never any missing dishes – and I’m about to order right now....

You always get a good portion and is reasonable priced

Ordered a meal, which included chicken and prawns. 3 prawns in total and not edible. Could not eat the meal.

Usually lovely . have to say tonight tho. One dish missing once that came other food was freezing. No ones eating it. Gutted £30 odd wasted

Our number 1 choice for a delivery. Online menu, good delivery, never had any dishes missing, food always hot and tastes great at reasonable prices.

We always order Chinese from here, the food is great and always arrives piping hot. Delivery is easy and we have never had wrong food delivered. Their menu is available online and has a great selection to choose from. Not sure what happened with the other reviewers but the reviews are all old and certainly not reflective of current standards!

Ordered food over the phone. Waited an hour and 15 mins to get my food turns out they did it wrong and couldn't eat one of the rices as I said no sauce but they put it in anyway and it was cold when it arrived. Ordered a bottle and turns up with a can. Never again

Tasty Chinese at good prices and very quickly prepared while we waited. Slightly tricky to find if you're visiting in person, look for the white door with the sign above it.

Placed an order, went and collected it only to get home and find dishes missing. Called them, they said they were there, they apologised and said we would have them within 15 minutes. They turned up an hour later. Really unimpressed and won't be using them again.
