Akash Fine Indian in North Hertfordshire

Ordered at 21:45 and order was accepted by the restaurant via the Foodhub app straight away. I’m quite patient with delivery up to a point but this was incredible. I waited till 23:15 untill I tried to enquire about my food. The status was then updated to order is now on its way with a name of the driver ‘Chris’ and his mobile number. I waited a bit longer, after a while I tried calling the driver and no answer on 3 tries, also no answer from the restaurant. A bit disgruntled I still sat and waited (like an idiot) i was still sitting waiting past midnight even though the restaurant has closed at 11. The food never showed up. I’ve never witnessed such bad service. Absolutely Awful. I have used Akash about 9/10 times before and was always happy. I will never order from this place again. I obviously got a full refund from Foodhub.

One star is too much! Ordered food on uber, arrived 1.5 hours late, with 1 call to chase... food was quite cold... lamb pasanda meat was tough and stringy and seemed 2nd cooked... lamb masala meat was better, but sauce was the worse ever tasted... chapatis were dry , crispy and tasteless... not happy... never again...

Waited 1 hour for a rice and naan. It was cold and fit for the bin. Couldn’t tell me how much it would cost over the phone. No customer service and really need management and a new chef

Ordered food from this place, took over an hour to arrive. Food was cold, some chicken was burnt to a crisp and other chicken was barely cooked at all. Poppadoms stale and missing part of the order. Phoned up and the best they could do was fob me off and tell me to speak to the manager tomorrow because they’re busy. Would not recommend this place unless your only other option is to chew on a brick for dinner.

Food was terrible - ordered a chicken korma which was cold, runny and flavourless. The tandoori chicken starter was burnt, poppadoms were stale and they forgot our naan and chutneys. Not to mention we waited over an hour and a half

Delicoius subcontinental taste!

Don’t touch this restaurant , our delivery was shocking, inedible runny rubbish. The poppadoms were stale, my tarka dal was runny water, the lamb curry was watery . All went in bin . Complained to just eat for refund.

Good indian take away in hitchin. Expensive menu friendly staff prompt service. Just a problem parking at busy times.

I didn't like the food that much because the chicken tikka that I ordered was sweet and I like it spicy but overall I liked the tandoori chicken and the lamb biryani and the garlic naan

I heard they were rated the best in Hertfordshire and so me and my partner ordered. We got a set meal each which seemed like a lot of food for a good price. Unfortunately everything arrived bland and watery. The poppadoms were stale. How they are rated the best is absolutely astonishing and unfortunately we won't be ordering from them again.

Food was very watery and very plain, after eating it for a while it started to make you feel ill. Very Stale poppadoms too, in the bin.

Rice was a bit powdered. Edible curry bit not outstanding

Lovely! We all thoroughly enjoyed our takeaway, it arrived earlier than stated which was good. It was fresh, tasty and cheaper than some others

I have always had top quality from this restaurant but last night it was not. Dhansak did not taste sweet and sour and was seriously too salty. Sag paneer was tasteless. Chicken tikka was not finished by my friend for the first time ever! Disappointing as this was a birthday treat.

Don't bother with Akash curry Hitchin. Failed to deliver our full order. Called to advise straight away and still waiting now 3 hours for the missing items. Just called them no offer of refund on missing food

Absolutely amazing food, I ordred the wrong curry but I'm glad I did, it was the best madras iv ever had. Very polite and considerate staff. Fast delivery and well priced. A*++++++ Best around.!

First few times I ordered the food was delicious but every single time I’ve ordered the food has arrived at-least 30 minutes late, gave them the benefit of the doubt until The food quality went down hill. ordered lamb masala countless times now and I couldn't even chew the lamb and had to spit it out cause it’s burned and hard , dishes are drowned in paste and make me feel sick after eating it, called 3 times asking for an update on their driver and they just lie over the phone about accidents in the area every single time, I won’t EVER be ordering from them again. 0 stars.

Food was really bad. I ordered kasmiri chicken and saag panner both dishes are full of sugar Food was warm but taste is disgusting. It's better I just ordered any sweet rather eating sweet dinner dishes. Worst experience.

Hay guys not sure what went wrong tonight. I've used you for almost three years now but tonight's meal was disappointing. The rice dish mushroom baji and stuffed paratha was ok but the popadoms had no dip or salad and the chicken Rogan was bland no spice what so ever sorry but not value for money. I have normally picked my meal up from the shop as a Redhill Special and a complimentary popadom has always come with a dip and salad and curries have been full of flavour

Rang up took the driver 2 hours when I got it cold never go there any more

Its my local Indian I especially like there Sag Pander very tasty

Long established Indian takeaway in hitchin now with a couple of tables so you can eat in. Friendly fast service with good quality food.

Saw the great reviews on Google and fancied a takeaway curry for six. What a great find. Full flavoured, well spiced, generous portions, loads of garlic in my rice and friendly service. Well worth a visit. Thoroughly recommended.

Delusional manager kept talking about how he delivered to Buckingham Palace, food wasn't great. Seating inside the shop way too small, cant have few chairs in a tiny store, portions did not match the price. Would not recommend to anyone.Friends have told me every sunday they get called about their experience even though they mentioned they dont want to be called repeatedly. The owner keeps saying hes not the owner aswell which is strange.

Was very good when 1st opened. But lately have been poor. My wife had Chicken Passanda amd this dish had no cream. Rung back and complained about this and they said that they didn't understand why this had happened. Sent our replacement dish and exactly the same! Will not use them again...

After hearing akash is back by a neibour decided to try them out knowing that they were around for almost 3 decades in hitchin. But had a break FOR FEW YEARS. The food was great fresh tasty really,even the lamb garlic was so soft almost as i was eating in india I had requsted it in a certain way as i am "really picky" it came out if anything really home cooked style akash really it was still in my taste buds hours after.😗😗😗

Wow "quality food becuase they care" Absolutely spot on their papadoms were fresh and crispy the set meal was lush where we got to choose our 5 course meal unlike most were your being dictated by the outlets around the area value was really good would definitely be a regular from now

akash has been back for only a year and its been great! they have a nice resturant in place do dine in- with every table getting equal great service. also great speakers that allow you to play own music unlike other resturants. food great as usual.

Very personal experience but most importantly the food is amazing

Very flash young chap behind the counter now always bragging just puts us off this place. They now charge extra for mint sauce and salad with Tandoori starter !!!! Used to really love this place and it was our number 1 for takeaway. please just go back to how it used to be!

Been in hitchin for a few years now and finally found a curry house I can call my favourite. Great food and good service.

Friday night treat .... oh man just enjoyed the set menu & oh boy everything was perfect asked to have it made in a particular way & it was spot on... thank god cinnaMON has gone & welcome back mr Akaash As a person of Indian heritage & having sampled every other Indian takeaway in Hitchin, this place in particular my curry a few nights ago ranks amongst the best curries I have eaten. This is a top top indian it is amazing . Such a shame its probably loseing buisness because of all the dreggs of hitchin that loiter outside the shops but please dont be put off by this it is a 1st class indian.

After hearing about akash is back I thought id give it a try as I used to go to akash before. The new setup of akash is brilliant. The food is amazing like home cooked Asian style. The food was on time delivery service excellent the customer service on the phone was brilliant an helpful. Most definitely im a regular now after trying this. " quality food as we care" damn right keep upto this slogan.

Have lived in hitchin for over 10 years wow great to see akash back for curry lovers must have the shonar bangla tender lambs perfectly spiced! Have tried every curry house within hitchin; letchworth this is amazing ☺☺☺☺☺see you soon akash
