Falcon Inn in Stockton-on-Tees

70th birthday party 22 people pre booked. Food was perfect Parmos that take some bearing and the steak was good. Great service only compliments from all guests at a reasonable price. Been before and will be back.

We’ve been to the Falcon regularly over the years but only occasional for Sunday lunch, and on this occasion we wished we’d gone elsewhere. It started well, we were seated in the dining room, drinks orders taken and drinks arrived. Then food orders taken , nothing complicated we all (party of eight) opted for the Sunday roast. That’s when the wheels started to fall off. After about 45 minutes we were still waiting for food to arrive. When it did we realised that the meat was not sliced from a joint but pre sliced and probably supplied from a butcher or worse still a supermarket. Why can’t a chef cook a joint of meat and slice it ?? The most basic of skills. At no point did staff ask if everything was ok or did we want more drinks. Then there was another wait, eventually we had to ask for the sweet menu, then wait and wait for them to take our order. Then guess what , we had to wait for the sweets to arrive. There were plenty of staff and it wasn’t full but the staff were standing around talking, nobody seemed to be in charge , nobody took any ownership. It was a real disappointment for what should have been a happy family gathering.

Return visit six years after last meal here. Wanted a light lunch and the choices were good. The portions were very generous and the flavours were good too. With decent service thrown in it will certainly get another visit.

We have been coming here regularly because the food is so good. Steve always has a southern fried Parmo which he says is excellent. The new menu has lots of lovely fish dishes, all of which I have tried, I highly recommend the Parmesan Cod loin. Im not vegetarian and rarely order the veggie options but their vegetarian thai curry is out of this world. Last night, I was frozen and tired, I wanted some comfort food. I selected the slow cooked brisket with butternut squash puree, mash and veg. It was lovely. Very competitive prices and lovely friendly staff. Thankyou

Just had a family meal for my niece's birthday, food was excellent and it came out quick , very hot and delicious,staff were very nice and polite,we will definitely be going back.

We called in for lunch some years after our last visit. The place looks much better than it did & there were a few customers there , mainly older people. The bar area was clean & comfortable & we had a warm welcome. The food was good , better than average pub grub.I had a steak , the wife had gammon & egg. All good & I can recommend it. We will be back.

My husband & I went here for lunch today & we had a gorgeous lunch. The service was great: really friendly and helpful male staff member (sorry didn’t get his name). The food was delicious and a good variety. I had the Seafood Platter & my husband the Hotshot Parmo (he chose the Pork rather than chicken). For dessert we had the Affogato - We’ll definitely be back soon….& I’ll be tempted to order the same!

Very dated now, no wonder pubs are closing, the managment needs to sort the pub out, poor service, expensive and average food, used to be very busy, now quiet. Used it regulary in the past, wont be eating in there again

Called into the Falcon Inn after attending a funeral at Acklam. We were able to book a large table for 10 people at 6.15pm. The pub is bright and welcoming with friendly staff and a wide range of beers and spirits including alcohol free. It has a good size car park. It is a children and dog friendly pub. They offer a wide range of hot and cold dishes which are reasonably priced. For main courses we had two Seafood Thai Curry with half rice / half chips, two crispy salmon, one fish pie and a small scampi. All the dishes were excellent. Would recommend The Falcon if you are in the area. Then I’ll came to just over £132,00, so £145 with tip.

Went for lunch with family. Very tasty parmos with diced black pudding & deserts. Friendly staff and lovely village pub.

Great service and choice although arrival of desert was slow as kitchen was busy. Large portion of very good cheesecake. Sunday lunch was mediocre. The over fine cut of all the meats made it feel like packet meat. Not the best. Large Yorkshire and enough veg. Short on roasties....I got one. Parmos were very good and generous portions. I would go back but on for Sunday lunch.

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch, whilst the food was plentiful and tasty, the disappointment was that the food was cold. The staff were busy so we couldn't attract their attention and there was no check back after the food was delivered to allow us to highlight this at the time, nor were we asked when we paid the bill! We used to be regulars here for food but sadly we won't be coming back. To pay over £30 for two cold dinners isn't what I would expect.

This pub is superb at dealing with customers who have allergies and dietary issues, I couldn't thank them enough for the Sunday dinner they did me seprate to suit my allergies and dietary issues. Thank you to the chef for the lovely dinner he cooked me

I attended a club Christmas lunch here today with approximately 40 guests and was very impressed with the quality of service and food. Nothing was too much trouble to Matthew and his staff and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

From start to finish everything was Excellent, The Falcon accommodated 16 Adults & 7 Children, All having Starters/ Mains/Children's Menu & Desserts. Would like to say nothing was too much trouble For this Team of young Staff. It was a Sunday & as you can imagine the pub was very Busy. I'd like to give an extra Special mention to Vivien Restaurant Manager Who went that extra mile to make sure everything went smoothly . The Food was served Hot & very Tasty . We booked here for a "thank you" meal for some friends. We all ordered different meals and were all pleased with our choices. The steak, chicken, parmo and fish were all cooked beautifully and served with seasonal vegetables or salad. The service was very good and the staff friendly and helpful.

We visited based on a previous visit 18 months ago. It has changed ownership and clearly lost the really good chef of last time.The Beef was tough and substandard. Luckily the 'Black Sheep' ale was up to standard but I think I will stick to a bag of crisps next time I visit !!!!Not worth a photo !

This was the worst food I have had for sometime. The steak was very tough, full of gristle and it look my mother in law so long to attack it that the chips and onion rings had gone cold by them. The pie was like a school dinner - a slab of pie (look like used up old steak no gravy just steak) with a tough old crust. On complaining to the manager they took the price of the pie of and apologised about the steak and made up some rubbish about not being able to tell if a steak is good until you cook it - rubbish - gristle is gristle!!! On looking a the reviews on Trip Advisor I see that people complained in January 2019 about the same thing. The management obviously take no notice. Avoid like the plague (unless you want to lose weight!)

Had lunch at the Falcon last week and tried the mushroom stroganoff. It had a weird taste - a bit bitter, a bit vinegary. I suspect the wine in the sauce was slightly 'old'. Perhaps too many oyster mushrooms in it (which can taste very bitter).Nice venue overall, and staff were very helpful, but I couldn't finish my meal. Really odd taste.

This is the second visit to The Falcon in a week. After enjoying ‘fish & chip’ Friday last week we decided to try the Valentine’s Day dinner menu and I’m so glad we did. The 3 course set menu with wine was excellent value. The food was fresh and tasty, the staff pleasant and attentive too. I hope the set menu becomes a regular feature at The Falcon.

Not visited for a long time Heard it was under new management, ordered starters and main meals starters okay but too much salad was turning, maincourse steak pie was dry as cardboard and unattractively presented fish Platter crammed onto a very small plate scampi cod in batter fishcake and prawns expected cooked prawns not defrosted frozen prawns with hot food beer was good wine was also would visit for a drink but not to eat

Dissapointing meal used to be regular visitors prior to change of management.

Went with family for Christmas lunch having been 2 years ago for our Christmas dinner. Compared to the previous visit it was very poor- service bad, portions not as good and food not very good at all for the price we paid. We are normally very regular visitors but will not be going unless we hear that the food and service have gone back to the quality it used to be

We went tonight the portions are smaller and the price has increased by a substantial amount,there were only 4 people i now no why it's so quiet

We regularly call in for food as it is not far for us to travel. There is a great choice on the menu, we found the pies and Parmesans to be particularly good. Nice beer too!

Four of us visited today, myself, partner and the in laws. We've all been a few times before and always enjoyed the food. My partner booked last weekend for today in the restaurant. Unfortunately there had been an issue with our booking and there was no table for us.

Went out with son and my dad last Saturday managed to squeeze us in. My dad and me ordered Caribbean chicken with rice and some chips to share because the chips here are delish the chicken was really tasty and sweet and nice coconut rice. My son had mince and dumplings he said it was really nice. Always get plenty to eat and we always enjoy coming here.

Had a bar meal with family, it was an early Saturday evening and it was very average, but the chips were very good though. I was drinking the Black Sheep and it was very good.

The Falcon is somewhere we often visit for a meal and we are always more than happy, hence we keep returning.... The choice on the menu offers something for everyone and it is very reasonably priced, always tastes delicious and definitely good value for money. Oh and super speedy too!! The staff are always very polite and customer service is second to none. The atmosphere in the place is always friendly and welcoming too, so definitely worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere nice to eat or even just to go for a drink. Very highly recommended!

You can eat in both the bar and the restaurant and still get the very good choice of tasty home cooked food. The restaurant is decorated with dainty fairy lights which make a lovely atmosphere, especially for a special celebration. Excellent service, excellent food and reasonably priced.

Took my father here. Previously just sampled the bitter. Lost to choose from which can cause concern however the meals we had were very nice and plentiful. We were able to down size for dad so very accommodating

I arrived with a friend and we were greeted by very friendly staff. They gave good service and had a perfect balance between making us feel welcome and looked after but not OTT on the service.

We recently went to the Falcon Inn at Yarm. The place was friendly, clean offering good food and service. We had Black Pudding (YUMMY) and soup for starters and the Caribbean Chicken and Thai Green Fish Curry. Both meals were lovely - well priced, served beautifully and were hot.

A fantastic lunch with plenty of food, particularly the amount of meat. The staff were very welcoming. They even gave us a 'doggy' bag to take the meat home for the dog. Thank you.

Have been here a few times over the years and it as always been good quality pub grub but on this occasion it was south of average and we were both disappointed, I had the large beef dinner, loads of scran but missing quality in respect of food, my wife had lamb cobbler which was very dry and anaemic looking, place smelt a bit damp as well which was off putting, it was approaching Xmas busy period so maybe this is why the normal standard was missing.

Me and my husband were here last night for my birthday. The main meal arrived an hour after the starter. The starter of prawn cocktail and soup was nice but prawn cocktail cost £7.95 which was expensive. Food has been delicious on previous visits but the meal this time was not pleasant. Husband had steak pie, pastry was too thick and hard and steak was over cooked. Curry was tasteless and I left most of it. We will not be eating here again. Expensive and not enjoyable.

Called in Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy but service was really slow. Waited ages at the bar then ordered sandwiches that took an age to come.

The service here is always warm, friendly and welcoming, the food is cooked well and always tasty, leave room for the sticky toffee sundae!! we always leave happy and satisfied.

My partner and myself enjoyed a fabulous few meals at the Falcon Inn whilst staying near by. The staff and service were great. I would highly recommend the Thai green seafood curry and the toffee apple crumble for dessert! We will most definitely be back if we are in the area again.

Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic experience at The Falcon Inn, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly but gave you enough space as well, exactly what you need. We had a lovely dinner, starter, main and desert. The food was lovely and fresh and very generous portions as well. It has a very nice atmosphere in the pub as well. Next time we are in the area we will definitely make some time to visit for either lunch or dinner.

Massive portions! I had Caribbean Chicken and the wife had Mince and Dumplings. Cosy pub, can get very busy on a night. Great food, good portions, good service

we went for Sunday Lunch last week, it was delicious, we were a party of six, we were all served together,lots of meat veg and gravy all tender and very tasty very reasonable prices, lovely sweets and we all enjoyed our food . We will definitely return.

Great value pub grub with an excellent menu. We had tandoori chicken and a special followed by jam rolypoly and custard! The service was prompt and attentive. Just one downside is having to either pay for your meal before you eat or leaving your credit card behind the bar as you eat. Can be difficult to pay up front if you don't know of you want a desert or more drinks during the meal. A minor point maybe but just a pity establishments have to do this presumably based on previous diners "doing runners"? Recommended!

The food is amazing, the staff are so welcoming and friendly. This is now our only place to go for a meal out. Did I mention the food is amazing?

Drove from Derbyshire especially for lunch at the Falcon Inn ( popped to Ingleby Barrick to pick parents up on way).Always well worth the journey , the Roast Beef dinner is fabulous, excellent value for money, friendly and welcoming staff. The village location is quaint, a lovely drive.We celebrated Dad's 70th there too, had the wonderful extended conservatory to ourselves, mass production of Roast Beef Dinner and Indian Curry didn't reduce the quality and taste whatsoever! Thank you and we'll be back!

As always the welcome at the Falcon is second to none. Good food, friendly atmosphere and the staff make you feel at home. We've had cosy meals for two and, as was the case today, family lunch. Portions are generous, plenty of choice and desserts to die for. We'll be back for sure

Rural pub with fab menu. New chef and food is well above normal pub fare. Great welcome from new landlords (Feb 17). Welcomed addition to local village and community. New restaurant menu is fab - visited 30 June - had mussels (delicious), pate, steak and salmon. Food only served Thursday to Sunday at moment. Sunday lunch must be booked. Curry is also absolutely delicious. Def recommended. Glad to have as local pub .

Visited with family for a wedding meal in June 2017. The food was "really" nice with a good choice. I had lasagne which was gorgeous, but what impressed me was the veg was cooked perfectly. Slightly "al dente". Not a big sweet person but the desert was lovely too, can't remember what I had! (Sorry) but seemed rude not to try it! We actually visited again the very next day for Sunday lunch & we weren't disappointed. Great choice of meats & small or large portions available. Meat, gravy, stuffing, yorkshire pudding were gorgeous. We all chose turkey, again faultless! 2 adults & 1 child lunch plus drinks for under £30. Honestly can't fault this place, looking for an excuse to go again soon!Staff were really friendly & polite, one even recognised me from the wedding the previous day!!!!Totally recommend this place for a run out & Sunday lunch. Didn't know it existed, it's a hidden gem.

Another great meal in this lovely quaint pub. You will be pushed to find homecooked food as nice as theirs for what they charge. So much choice and generous portions.I ordered drinks and mains and asked to.open a tab in case we wanted desert but was taken s back when they took my credit card and put it in a little box behind the bar. It wasn't that I didn't trust the staff but you are advised never to let your credit card out of your sight so this made me uncomfortable. Im happy for you to swipe my card and return it, but if you can't do that, please trust your customers to pay at the end of their meal. ⁣

We visited the Falcon Inn at Hilton for a birthday meal with all of the family- 16 of us! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and they were all extremely helpful. We pre-ordered the food beforehand; they started preparing it as soon as we were all seated. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were really generous.I would definitely recommend for any occasion

Dropped by with my wife having not been there for quite some time. An altogether pleasant experience with good service, good food and couple of real ales to wash it down. We'll be back more often.

Nice pub in quiet village. Busy on the night I visited with a quiz night. Food was very nice and generous in portions. Service was fast and efficient. Would go again.

Lovely Pub in quaint village but not just for locals, everyones made welcome.Biggest problem what to have? So much choice, starters £3.50-£3.95, we had black pudding fritters and black pudding, bacon and mushroom pate.Mains from £7.50 with option to order small or large portion. Fresh home cooked food.Too full for desert but they are from £3.50 with old favourites like sticky Toffee pudding. We had 4 starters, 4 mains and round of drinks for £66.00.Book if you can cos it's popular.

After spending Xmas eve lunchtime here and having a fabulous meal for 11, on hearing excellent reports of the Sunday lunch menu we decided to give it a go. Family of 7, each having the traditional Sunday Lunch, all the meats were outstanding, the food was hot, plentiful, and the service was excellent, despite the restaurant and pub being full. Would have no hesitation in recommending and we will visit again. There were a number of small children in the restaurant and witnessed a very child friendly attitude by all staff.

Come here often, staff are lovely make you feel really welcome, wouldn't go any where else for a parmo never disappointed best food and service

Lumpy mash , rock hard veg , warmed up pie , and tasteless roast beef . We were asked if everything was ok but were ignored when we indicated it wasn't - perhaps that's why they charge up front for the food. Needless to say we won't be returning .

Been for tea here a few times now and never had a bad meal but tonight was out of this world. The sticky ginger chicken was to die for! I wanted to lick my plate clean the sauce was incredible.
