Fairview Fish Restaurant in Cheltenham

Absolutely awful…. Ordered a delivery. Fishcakes hard and dry, chips hard and tasteless. Definitely need to do better….

I have been twice, pick up both times. The first time I tried the code - not good, tired, dry, grey tasteless. Chips are pretty good though - the large bag should keep you going for a week or so. Will keep going back for chips and mushy peas.

Take your order on the website, confirm it, say it’s being prepared and 3/4 hour later get a message to saying no drivers! And you can have you money back in 3 to 5 days! Joke ring and get no sense from them. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Wish i could give 0. Ordered at 715 and the food arrived eventually at 915. Phoned and was lied to about arrival time, phoned heaps of times and they ignored my calls. Guy turned up with little apology. Sent the food back. Atrocious service not impressed and would absolutely not recommend

I have busted this chip shop for many year but today is the last time fish and chips wow crap in a bag waist of money never again I should be saying a lot more about the food but can't be bothered if you have food from here then think again 24.04.2020 crap

As they sell gluten free cod on Tuesdays we thought we'd try this chippie again after being really pleased with the food the first time.BIG mistake. The portions were large but the "cod" was wet, sloppy and flavourless.Under cooked maybe? In fact, it was inedible. After two mouthfuls we binned it. Should have taken it back for a refund. We will not be going back.

This is a sweet little place and needed to pick up food on the way home one night. The guy was very helpful and friendly and gave massive portions, the food wasn’t overly greasy either. They did offer gluten free alternatives and extras which was nice..top marks!

Went in here to get some food in a rush of the way home one night, unfortunately they don’t seem to be open very often Also they tend to take a while to get food ready, felt they were very expensive for what they had on the menu.. so probably won’t be visiting again in a hurry..

Best fish and chips I had in a while. Freshly prepared meals with great service. I will certainly go back again.

A neighbourhood chipper, does what it says on the tin. Generous portions, friendly service. An asset to the community.

Best fish and chips in Cheltenham! All freshly cooked and the mushy peas and homemade curry sauce are really good.

(This is a takeway fish and chip shop rather than a restaurant). We called into the here on the way home from an evening in Cheltenham where we'd expected to be eating. Was getting towards the end of the evening but owners were friendly and welcoming, and there was no problem in ordering what we wanted and it being cooked for us. My husband also commented on the curry they had on the hot plate and was told it was a homemade chicken curry and was offered and accepted a sample of this. It said it was delicious and he would definitely go back to have the curry next time. There was a short wait whilst our food was cooked but that meant it was obviously fresh. The portions were a generous size and the fish was very tasty. There is an award winning bigger chippy not so far from this one, but from our experience the food on offer here is better and definitely better value. We'll be going back when we next want our fish & chip fix.

Had the most fantastic Fish and Chips that we have ever had. The food was cooked freshly whilst we waited, and we did not mind the wait one bit as our food was awesome. When we got to the flat and put the food on the plates, the fish was so large it hung over the sides. Will definitely go back to this Chippy when next in Cheltenham and would recommend this Chippy to anyone.

The quality of this chippie has gone up and down over the years but it is now definitely going through one its good spells. Most food is cooked to order so you don't risk having something that has been sitting around a while. Couldn't fault my food - nice crispy batter on both haddock and cod, lovely chips and decent mushy peas. And portions are huge. Don't go large unless you have an inhuman appetite - I have a hearty appetite and can never finish a regular portion. Prices are very reasonable (about £7 for fish, chips and mushy peas). For me, every bit as good as a certain award winning chippie half a mile up the road and without their tiny portions!

My husband and I needed some filling food quickly on our first night in the Cotswolds, so decided on fish and chips. We had read about Fairview online as being gluten intolerant friendly so gave them a go. Unfortunately, they only have special gluten free evenings on Tuesdays but at least you can time your visit if you know.... we called in on a Thursday but I chanced the chips and was fine - I sometimes react to less than 6ppm and always below 20ppm so was very happy to have a trouble free meal. I would definitely recommend to coeliacs and others for excellent, hot fish and chips. Be warned though, the large chips are LARGE ☺
