Fair View Chinese and English Take Away in South Ribble

We've eaten here for years but after the most recent visit we won't be back. Firstly, what we ordered should've cost around £12.70 according to their menu in the shop, but they charged us £19? Woman and lad working there were far too aggressive when I mentioned this. Secondly the food was awful, chicken balls had undercooked batter and the chicken itself was tough and leathery. The fried rice was chewy, like it had been left on the side for a few hours. Mushrooms were beyond salty. Ended up throwing most of it away, the only edible thing was the curry sauce. Such a shame as it's always been really good before now but after this visit we'll be finding a new Chinese.

Just rang to order delivery only to hear him, the guy on the phone, tell those in the takeaway that he didn't want to do deliveries. He sounded like a spoilt kid.. "I don't want to"... I thanked them and didn't place an order.. It was very rude

Ordered shrimp curry and chilli and garlic king prawn tonight. Both watery and tastless compared to usual. Won't be ordering again anytime soon unless they improve.

Such a shame, been using here for ages sadly no longer. ordered at 6pm to collect, told 30mins arrived on time to find not ready and told didn't know when it would be, customers waiting informed us they had been waiting quite some time, recently we have had wrong orders, things missing but to wait 2 hours is not acceptable, we had a child and a diabetic person waiting to eat and had to go elsewhere. if you can't fulfil the orders then don't take them and be honest with your customers

Food is always great from here. Wish they delivered though

Ordered duck plum ended up with duck pineapple. Is that acceptable? No. Many times this has happened, why don’t they come to counter say they ain’t got this and ask what alternative instead of dishing out what they got! Do they think we don’t notice?

Food was delicious when we got it but I was disappointed in the near 2 hour wait after pre-ordering it and being told it would be 1 hour and 15 minutes wait.

First time here for a long time, Ribs and Chicken Wings were great but Chicken Satay was made with that cheap rubber like Chicken, why do some places continue to use this, very disappointing

We had big portions of delicious salt and pepper spare ribs, king prawns chow mein, king prawns Omelette with fried rice, Singapore chow mien. Overall, great service to the chef and the staffs.

Unfortunately this takeaway is hit and miss. Tonight we had the special curry. God knows how you can make curry sauce tasteless?Not good!

Excellent chicken in lemon sauce. Service a little slow but that’s because they are so popular. Happy to wait 😊

No star rating.... after hearing so many good things about this chinese I thought I'd try it. Very rude staff, order was incorrect. Shredded beef was inedible all the food was very dry. I left most of my meal and even my dog even turned her nose up to it. If your thinking of ordering from here, save your money and go to gwok hing in bamber bridge

NO STAR RATING Just rand today and wanted to know if we could put in an order for delivery and they said they were way too busy to deliver and rudely put the phone down. I understand that they would be busy but they could have told us a waiting time so we could call back. Truly unhappy with their phone service and wasn't even able to get any food from their to even review. Terrible! NO STAR RATING

Where did it all go wrong? It can be very difficult to find a good quality Chinese takeaway. Most offer large portions for a reasonable price but the quality can vary wildly. The Fair View managed to once tick all three boxes. Eighteen months ago this was the place to go far a good quality meal that doesn't have you reaching for the water all night long due to a salt overdose. I'm not sure if they've changed hands but the quality isn't there anymore. Sadly, generic is the best complement I can give the Fair View now.

Absolutely terrible, we have recently returned to using Fair View as our Chinese of choice after the food went downhill for a long time. Our second visit since returning; I tried to phone our order in, to be put on hold for 8 mins before I gave up and put the phone down then couldn't get through! So we drove down to order, Esther started taking my order then before I had finished, went to take the order from another customer!! Extremely rude, no apology offered! We will not be returning.

Absolute rubbish service got home and item missing. Chicken wings dry and hard prawn toast tasteless battered chicken overdone and one piece of pineapple in sweet and sour sauce! Overall left a sour taste on my Friday evening
