Eyre Arms Calver in Derbyshire Dales

staying in the area and popped in for an early evening meal not having been there before. Nice atmosphere and dogs running everywhere but food arrived served on a manky looking old chopping board, so when the waitress asked if there was anything i would like i said yes a plate to eat it off, not a chopping board and she just walked off. Ordered the beef lasagne the top of which was served in a red hot skillet which i burned my hand on. the top of the lasagne was burnt solid and disguised by melted cheese and it gave me a bad stomach all night. Please stop trying to be trendy and use a plate to serve food on.

This has relatively recently changed ownership with it a completely different experience from really great interior to very good food. Staff are excellent, beer the same. Personal recommendation on the fish finger sandwich, it’s called something fancier on the menu and looks it!

Called in for a couple of drinks. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The Lager was a good pint and reasonably priced. Didn't eat but the food looked good . Will be returning

Last minute Sunday lunch, carvery for half of us, pizza the others…all excellent. Plenty of meat and vegetables with stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and gravy

We came here for Sunday roast and it wasn’t too bad. I’m not usually a fan of a carvery but the selection was pretty good, and the food was all hot. Beef was very fatty and gammon was a bit tough, but portion size was perfect!

Called in for lunch today and had a delicious meal. I ordered the Fish & Chips / mushy peas/ homemade tartare sauce and my husband ordered the homemade pie / homemade chips with vegetables & gravy. The batter on my fish was very light & crispy, and the fish itself was white and flaky- perfect 👌My husband couldn’t praise his pie option enough ( pheasant & leek)! Warm & welcoming atmosphere. Great place for quality, homemade food. Definitely worth a visit.

Love this place ... 2nd visit back as we stay in their carpark in our camper. Staff always so friendly and accommodating. We had food this time and so glad we did as the steak pie was amazing, so much meat and proper homemade chips with fresh veg. Lovely locals vibe and a good bit of sport on TV. Bigger bonus that it is dog friendly and has a lovely fire burning away. Will definitely be back.

Very disappointed with the carvey we had what we understand is a carvery they ask what meat u like then u serve yourself with the rest put no he then started putting veg etc on put I think he was afraid of giving u to much as he put a table spoon off carrots then spoon of cabbage plus spoon of red cabbage 2 roast potatoes one med yorkshire pud yes you got 2 slices of meat but he couldn't have cut it any thinner they charged £16-95 will not be calling back there any time soon no other potatoes are offered

Popped in with my adult son and dog for a quick pint whilst watching the football. Very dog friendly and friendly staff. Prices reasonable. £9.55 for a pint of Estrella and a pint of Guinness Zero. Plenty in, mainly locals. Serving food but we didn’t try as we had a booking elsewhere. Few TV screens showing live sport including wall mounted screens in the men’s toilet, so you never miss any of the action!

We booked in for my husband's birthday lunch yesterday, the service from the lovely young lady was absolutely fantastic. She couldn't do enough for us. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and the service was fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Nice pub, good food, well refurbished, friendly staff. Still perfectly happy for locals at the bar in work clothes, like a proper pub should be. Also happy for us to stop in our vans overnight in the car park.

Popped in for lunch and a pint with my wife. We got a very friendly welcome from the lady behind the bar and the beer, and the food was great. Crunchiest chips I've had in ages. Well worth a visit. Toilets are spotless and fresh.

We chose the eyre arms for our son’s 16th birthday family meal as he’s a big sports fan & the sports bar menu looked like food he enjoys. There were 12 of us & everyone managed to chose something they liked & the feedback was good all round. Burgers were tasty! Staff were friendly & chatty. Think the boys would happily go watch a match there & eat their way through the burger menu!

Called in at the eyre arms today for a couple of drinks, staff very friendly and welcoming. Had pizza and oh my it was delicious cooked by the very talented chef Jake I think his name was, best pizza iv had!!! Dogs welcome in pub which was brill as I was out with my dog on her first walk and pub stop, she even made friends with the locals dogs.

Stopped for a drink and something to eat. Decor is lovely and the place is very clean. We had a child's Sunday dinner which was not only beautifully presented with roast potatoes and parsnip, green cabbage and red cabbage and a huge Yorkshire pudding on top of a lovely thick slice of beef with gorgeous homemade gravy it tasted amazing. We ordered a side order of creamy mash and the cauliflower cheese. They are well worth getting. We shared a sticky toffee pudding and custard which was delicious. We sat outside and relaxed as we watched the world go by. The staff and service was excellent. Highly recommend and will be back very soon.

well first time we have had food since refurb i had egg ham and chips hubby had burger with chips and grandson had hot dog never have i eaten are seen food as disgusting as this im local and i wont be going there again hubby asked for my egg to be runny was hard and i turned it over looked like it had been cooked on a coal fire the hame was pink at bottom and a off colour at top that puts me off so that went in bag for dog hubbys burger looked like slush no thankyou i would give this a miss if i was you we spoke to owner while they were refurbing the place said going to have good food when it opens properly well make a start now nothing for the 5 year old i had with me just ordered a hot dog foot long all they had no childs menu if you cant get chips and egg right i would give up

This is a fabulous pub, great atmosphere & gorgeous food. The menu was varied & lots of great options for gluten free which is rarely found. Nothing was too much trouble. The renovation has been very tastefully done & it is very conveniently located. We will definitely be back.
