Such a warm welcome. The food and service for our family’s Sunday lunch was excellent our two year old granddaughter can’t wait to go back for ice cream

Popped in for lunch and a pint with my wife. We got a very friendly welcome from the lady behind the bar and the beer, and the food was great. Crunchiest chips I've had in ages. Well worth a visit. Toilets are spotless and fresh.

We chose the eyre arms for our son’s 16th birthday family meal as he’s a big sports fan & the sports bar menu looked like food he enjoys. There were 12 of us & everyone managed to chose something they liked & the feedback was good all round. Burgers were tasty! Staff were friendly & chatty. Think the boys would happily go watch a match there & eat their way through the burger menu!

Called in at the eyre arms today for a couple of drinks, staff very friendly and welcoming. Had pizza and oh my it was delicious cooked by the very talented chef Jake I think his name was, best pizza iv had!!! Dogs welcome in pub which was brill as I was out with my dog on her first walk and pub stop, she even made friends with the locals dogs.

Absolutely lovely place! The staff are all very friendly especially Oliver who went above and beyond for us! Food was great quality and good portions for the price! Not a bad thing to say about the place. Will definitely return and recommend!

Staff went the extra mile with our food making sure my friend had it just the way she wanted. Good choice of plant based meals too.

Me and my better half popped in for a drink, but saw on the specials they had steak loaded fries!!! OMFG they were unreal, we had to get them and they didn't miss a beat! Hats off to the chef and we will be back before we head home. This is a place for locals which creates good chat, but also so welcoming to passerbyers coming through fir a good feed and drink.

Walked through the door and made welcome like a local. Very friendly staff, smiles all round. The beer was spot on and the wine perfect (so said the other half). The meal was good and good value. The dessert (chocolate brownie with lovely vanilla ice cream) was brilliant. The brownie was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside,perfect! The meal we had was very nice. The fish, chips and mushy peas was very good. A large fish with crispy batter and full of fish inside. The pie of the week was also very good, with a perfect amount of gravy (sometimes there is no where near enough). The staff were very helpful and very accommodating to the person in our party with food allergies. Only negative was that the meal was a bit pricey - £42 for the 2 meals and 2 drinks. Other than that, a great experience.

Fantastic place to go go after a walk for great food and sport! Great staff very friendly , clean with a cosy fire and snug surroundings.

We walk 45 minutes from our village for this place. We have a pub just at the end of on road but never go because it's not this place. Cannot recommend this place enough. Food is amazing and the staff are even better. Friendly. Warm. Welcoming. What more could you want in a pub? Portions are definitely filling and far from stingy (can take them home if needed). Pints are poured perfectly everytime. I think they're underselling themselves a bit as the food is great quality and wouldn't be mad if I had to pay a bit more. Fell in love with place the moment we step foot in here but the staff have sold it even more. Come long enough and the friendliness become more family like, they remember who you are and what you have. Best pub in Hope Valley ❤️

Beautiful pub after undergoing extensive refurbishment, in the heart of the Peak District. Family friendly environment with live sports and open fire. Busy with locals, family’s, walkers and doggo’s. Have visited before but this was our first time dining. Family of seven from 81 down to 9, everyone was made welcome and disabled access was good. Today was Sunday with a choice of roast meats. Between the table we had Roast Pork and Roast Beef, all the trimmings including home made yorkies, stuffing and some amazing roast veg. Cauliflower cheese was out of this world. All washed down with a nice bottle of Shiraz and a few pints. Dessert of choice was a classic syrup sponge and custard which I really didn’t need but god I enjoyed. Even ordered a second pork dinner as take out on paying the bill to eat later it was that good. Highly recommend.

First time here since Tim and Jimmy left. As usual went for the new year's eve party, stayed in the van from Friday thru till new year's day. Felt like motorhomes were there under sufferance, the staff were nice enough, the food though was awful - expensive and burnt, overcooked and some was even inedible. The food service was appalling - reaching across while people were eating to take finished plates. Fresh 'homemade' food coming out cold. Unless it's for a quick drink -if you can find a seat- I really won't recommend this pub anymore!!!! Oh and the Toilets... You now have to pass the gents to get to the 'new' ladies which are clean and lovely - but the men's oooh you MUST hold your breath as you pass the door as they STINK, I was physically sick with the smell and used the ladies very infrequently!!! Diabolical

Eyre Arms has recently been taken over by a local - it’s now a lot cleaner and beer is good. Went for a quick lunch but we were disappointed. My wife’s starter was supposed to have ‘crusty bread’ and butter but came with just one slice of cheap white bread that was almost burnt and no butter with it. I had a ‘Calver burger’ which should have come with ‘skin on fries’, but came with ordinary fries - to be fair though the fries were ok - but still not as advertised….. Beer and coffee were good! Went to pay and mentioned the above to the young man behind the bar who apologised (but didn’t offer a discount) I would go back for a drink but not food…..

Great atmosphere and choice on the menu. Plus side for my husband it has sports on (which i don't mind). My husband had a meal from the Festive Menu, he had the 2 course option. It was great value for money and you didn't need to pre-book or pre-order from this menu like a lot of venues. I had the Calver Classic Burger from the normal menu which was tasty too. We both had really nice desserts as well. All staff helpful and great service. We both really enjoyed our meals and will eat here again.

Homely little pub with a great atmosphere, good range of food options and lovely staff. Elly did everything she could to make sure we was happy and that our food was perfect. Great Sunday Roast compliments to the chef.

Food was lovely, and customer service brilliant. One dish we ordered was unavailable but our waiter substituted it for something not on the menu and also provided a hot drink complimentary. Can’t fault food or service.

Arrived here for lunch as menu looked good. However when we arrived we were told it was closing down in a couple of weeks as being sold by the brewery. We were told only a VERY few options were available, but not what they were....

This is a nice enough pub, well located at Calver crossroads. There is plenty of outdoor seating and a large interior. There is a pool table and plenty of parking.

We were able to use the function room for our annual Christmas lunch for our dance group (Horo Sheffield) which had a small dance floor which we made use of! The service was fine and they coped with our group of 21 without anyone waiting. The staff were friendly and attentive. The quality of the food was perfectly adequate - it was fair value for money. Will probably use the venue again in 2020 for same event.

What a find this is, it's a must food is outstanding an the owners are amazing

Lovely lunchtime treat by Dad. I had the Gammon and Dad had the Fish n Chips. Was great. Lovely staff too!

We meet other regular diners, some who travel miles for the pleasures of the home cooking, the atmosphere, and the friendliness banter of the family team.The choice of the home cooking never disappoints us. The family team never fail to meet our individual preferences and will always go the extra mile to ensure total satisfaction.Special themes and Special Day menues- booking is essential for these dinners.

We past this pub a few times , finally got to visit at the end of the week, wish we had gone in sooner.Food really good a great full portion so don't go when not hungry.Good menu , food all freshly cooked.Staff friendly & helpful.

Stayed over in the car park for the night in our motorhome. Popped in to the bar to ask if we could stay and have some drinks and maybe a meal and was made to feel most welcome.My meal was very tasty with crispy batter and great rustic chips. A good pint of real ale washed it all down.

When for dinner on Thursday evening food was of a very low standard and cold. They use to do much better menu and better quality food

Really amazing food. We had steak and ale pie (home made) with hand cut chips which was delicious and battered ale fish and chips with chips & bread and butter. What a treat!! Service was wonderful, always a smile and couldn't do anything more for you. Desserts were beaut too! Definitely our new food feast after the Monsal walk :D

I came here with my wife and children. Not really much to say excellent service, great food.The beer garden was fantastic even though on a main road it seems quite peaceful and relaxing.Will definitely pop back again when in the area

After a hard day looking at wedding venues we popping in here tired and hungry. What a wonderful surprise! One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in ages. And my husband has been a chef for over 15 years and he's hard to please. The children's chicken nuggets were made freshly and delicious. We will return.

Not been to the eyre arms in ages! Came down for a drink today and ended up have tea! With it been bank holiday they only have a few things on the menu! We ordered a pork dinner a kids pork dinner and a bbq pulled pork burger! It was the worst meal i have ever eaten! When the waitress brought our meal her hair was in it!! It was cold,the meat was tough! The veg was awful and the yorkshire pudding taste like cardboard! The waitress brought 2 meals out first and then 10minutes later the pot washer brought the rest out! 34quid spent on crap! Wil never come again!!

Cosy and friendly. Good food and great service. Plenty of parking for this lovely country inn. Wine provided for the house wines was superb. Great experience all round.

We've been tonight for a party of seven family meal. The starters and four meals were acceptable however three of us had the fish and chips. The fish and batter were very overcooked, I mentioned this to our waiter who didn't even speak or respond in any way but walked away. I then informed the what looked to be senior member of staff but he was very dismissive and just said that it was a very popular dish and no one else had ever complained. I don't know if this was the case but that wasn't relevant to me, I do know though that the people on the next table complained about cold veg. We won't be going back.

I am HORRIFIED, never I have I ever in my experience seen this, my friends and I was sat in the pool room of the eyre arms, having a drink and a laugh when all of a sudden we got a real strong smell of dog excrements. At first we thought it was someone outside walking there dog as the window was open but the smell just got worse. My good friend and I was chatting about Hogwarts and Magic and little did she know, she looked down and there was excrement all over her shoes. Now as a lady she was terrified and took them off and moaned, but the real important thing here is the boy behind the bar was absolutely disgraceful about it! He said things like "well I can't check under every table before you sit down" and then threatens to bar us if we share our story on trip advisor! Well eyre arms, good day to you! My friends and I are certainly not coming again.

Great pub with a selection of local beers and good quality traditional pub grub. The owners are ever present and provide great conversation.

We were adviced to try The Eyre Arms by friends who regulary eat there. The service was great, the portions were amazing and the food tasted outstanding. I will be going there again and will be recommending the quality of the pub to friends and family
