Extra Fish Bar in Rugby

These were the best chippy chips we’ve ever had, they were so crispy and tasty. Kebab meat, with tons of salad and sauce, really fresh food and was delicious. Other half had the pork Gyros and the tzatziki was so creamy and fresh. Portions were great, lovely friendly service. Would definitely reccommend, just a shame we don’t live in Rugby!

I took only the fish, but the selection was great and the serving given to me was one of the best I've had with a very light breading (other shops sometimes it is too thick and hard for me and a bit off-putting), and of course the fish itself was great. Mostly a place for take-away, there are a few chairs at the window bar if you wish to eat in. I plan to repeat my visit at least once every time in the future,

Great traditional Fish & Chips as it should be! Definitely worth a visit, great value and great friendly service to go with it.

What a disappointment. This was always our Go To for take away. We don't really do fast food so this is our treat. Consistently fabulous for the last 6 years until our last visit around 3 months ago. Decided to give it another chance tonight. Chips lovely. Fish tasty but a bit greasy. Mushy peas okay. Curry sauce awful -nothing like previous servings. Staff utterly disinterested. Asked for a pickled onion twice and then left out of order. Last time we asked for a picked onion and got a pickled egg... Overall, we will hesitate to go here again despite it being closest to home.

The food quality has slipped over the last few months. Now just greasy and nasty. My vegetable spring roll was mainly cabbage or onions, I counted 3 peas and 4 strands of carrot! Shame as was a good place

We placed an online order for collection via Extra Fish Bars own website and stated the time we wanted to collect. When I arrived to collect, I found that our order was not ready. The lady serving kept preparing one item at a time (it was an order for 4 people). This took ten minutes, meaning that the first item prepared (my meal) was pretty cold. I was disgusted to then discover that the price of online orders is about 30% MORE than the prices on display. This is for the same food, that’s taken the same amount of time to get as if I had just turned up in the queue. When we got home, the food was not terribly good and we even discovered we had a missing item which we had paid for. We will not be using this takeaway again. Really disappointed.

Awful dry fish and chewy chips from God knows when. Won't return again such a shame it used to be so good

We use to always use this fish and chip shop because it served gluten free fish and chips, sadly it. s gone down hill. it no longer offers battered fish and the last time they did I was poorly so it as put me off. The cheesy chips however are ok, so I would go for this but def not for a main meal as I cant risk it anymore. on a positive note the staff are generally very friendly.

So disappointed ordered large chips, fish peas and curry sauce, got small chips, no peas and meal was really cold. Girl could not understand English and do slow. Usually have a really lovely meal. Put me right off. Not enough so I had a slice of toast, waste of money

Been here a few times over the past year, the food is pretty decent. Lots to choose from. The use of PPE during COVID has been appalling though. When I went in yesterday there were about 8 staff behind the counter - only two wearing masks! And of those two only one was wearing it properly. For them to be ignoring health and safety in tier 3, and in one of the most BAME areas in Rugby is shocking and shows a complete disregard for public health and the safety of their customers and fellow staff.

I got the first of a fresh batch and they were spot on as was the curry sauce. Simple but nice and COVID measures well sorted.

got chips which had been refried from the day before, went back and mentioned this but they denied it, but there is a world of difference between fresh and what they served up that lunchtime. why are these places so greedy for cash that they have to resort to this, the markup on a bag of chips is pretty good I would imagine. shall never return

There maybe plenty of fish and chips shops about, some you wont try, some you will never try again following poor service or food, but knowing were to go to get an excellent service time and time again because of friendly owner and staff and fresh food that is consistantly good on repeat visits says it all. Never been disapointed, highly recomend, and always will be a regular

Great menu always fresh and plentiful portions. Staff very helpful and cheery. Good quality and would recommend for people staying in the nearby travelodge.

I didnt like the food, not very hot soggy batter etc chips had black bits in them food was only warm so was the coke

When I come to Rugby on business I always like to pop in. Friendly staff, lots of choice and it is always busy. The chips are lovely and even when I order a small portion it is very generous and I never finish it. Worth a visit.

This is in a different league to a majority of fish and chip shops. The premises are immaculate - always clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly. They prepare very good fast food - fish and chips, kebabs, calamari. Highly recommended.

These fruit drink pouches are very difficult to open up and drink without spillages. You can get the popular Fruit Shoot drink bottles for 25 pence each (bulk buy) and you can still make a massive profit !

When we visit Rugby to see family we regard a visit to the Extra Fish Bar a must. Such friendly service and always extremely clean, well presented, speedy and great fish, chips and pies. Really good portions of quality food. We look forward to our next visit.

After searching Rugby for the perfect Kebab ,at last i believe i have found it at the Extra Fish Bar .

Usually cooked on demand orders. I like battered mushrooms with my fish and large chips. Always friendly and rapid service whilst being popular with good opening hours.

I am a returning customer to this pristinely clean chip shop. Generally if I'm in Rugby it's only for a few days visiting family, but I do my damnedest to include the Extra... and I don't even like fish - I'm a sausage in batter man. However, empty paper wrappings attest to the rest of the family being equally appreciative. My daughter is especially fond of the curry sauce; I'm partial to a pickled egg.

Not been in some time but every visit has been excellent. Lovely fresh crispy fish and "real" chips (i.e. not frozen). Huge portions. Friendly service. Open seven days too!

Visited on recommendations after moving the area a few weeks ago and impressed by menu choices - so much more than just chips and the food is hot, tasty and staff very freindly and effiecient. Place is spotless, parking is a bit of a pain but worth it. Tried there southern fried chicken last week, lovely and moist though so many chips! not that I am complaining it was yummy!

This is by far the best fish and chip shop in Rugby. Vasilis and his team are so hard working, the food is beautifully cooked and nothing is too much trouble. He deserves a medal for how hard he works. We woukd highly recommend his fish restaurant without hesitation. See you soon Vasilis. J & T
