Best curry in Rugbyonly scored 3*on atmosphere as we only ever get a takeaway from here, but the place seems good.

All of our dishes were very tasty, particularly the tandoori chicken and the tarka daal. We were staying on a narrowboat and the restaurant delivered to the locks, fantastic service, on time and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway online. It was ready to collect in 20 minutes as they promised. The staff were delightful. They even threw in some extras for free. The food was piping hot, well packed and clearly labelled. Best of all, it was absolutely delicious! We might dine in next time.

This is one of the best currys I have had in the local area. The staff are amazingly attentive and looked after all guests on our table at every point during our meal. The food was simply delicious. I like my curry hot and I was not disappointed. The use of fresh chilli made my lamb naga spot one. Full of flavour and heat. The chef came to talk to us and explained his use of spices and chillies which made the experience even more rewarding. A great meal with exceptional flavour and brilliant service. We will be back. Probably one of the best places for "indian" Bangladeshi curries. I highly recommend their pathia, much better than most of the other restaurants, and very well balanced.

WARNING all South Asians to AVOID this place. Completely unauthentic and is actually very embarrassing they have “bengal” in their name. All curries have SO much sugar in them. We ordered a butter chicken where half of it was white comprised of butter, cream and sugar (in their words)!??? I’ve never been so appalled Called the place for a refund, they were reluctant. You should “call up” if you are south Asian so they can make it “spicy”…… does not correlate to sweetness or how bad the curries are. I tried to give them feedback that you shouldn’t need to say if you’re south Asian/bengali to have your food made “properly”. I was harshly told that I “wasn’t listening”. No comments taken on board and quite frankly a disgrace. For the sake of authenticity in the South Asian culture, do better. Stop adding sugar into everything and actually cook with spices.

Used to be a lovely place to eat. This time they served up uncooked chicken, very pink in the middle. Staff seemed reluctant to only offer a new one. They eventually agreed to give the money back for the dangerous meal they served. The 1 star food hygiene rating should've been a clue, though. Thoroughly disappointed in the food and the ownership. Patronise at your own risk.

I don't understand the good reviews after ordering food from here. I ordered for the first time and not impressed. We ordered a selection of curries/naan/paratha/rice/chips....the butter chicken was just far too sweet & certainly didn't taste like any butter chicken I had tasted before. Also the coconut rice too sweet. The chips were at best a small handful(and cold) Received something in the order that I hadn't ordered(even that didn't taste nice. Definitely would not recommend.

Came down from London to see family, never been to the restaurant before but it looked good so tried it out, all I can say is it was an excellent decision, the food was amazing we had two dishes the waiter recommended to us, a lovely gentleman by the way, we’ll all I can say is I’ll definitely go back again when I feel like some Indian food in Rugby again. Thanks you guys.

Took my grandchildren 4 and 18 months and the staff were amazing with them and the food was amazing too. Can not fault food or service. Tonight.

Food arrived cold. Probably just heated in the microwave. The Pasanda lamb was not nice at all. I threw it in the bin. It was so bad. Never again!

Very watery curry unfortunately, the sauce is not thick and creamy just very watery, tasteless and just slopped on the plate like tap water, could have drank it. Twice I have had curry’s like this from there now. Very disappointing when spending £30… Won’t order again.

Just ordered a delivery from here off justeat, food was delivered quickly and tasted amazing. First time ordering from here and will deffo order again. Best I've had in a long time.

Often come here with friends midweek and to be fair never had a bad meal. No rush relaxed staff.

Order was a starter and a side. This took over 2 hours to arrive. Once it arrived, this was the lamb that had been given. Now if that’s not concerning, I’m not sure what is. Had cold sides and stale poppadoms. Contacted to inform of the raw food and was offered a freshly cooked order. Once this arrived, it wasn’t any better.

Shocking takeaway Not sure if they have new chef / ownership Never had a bad meal before. Starters were cold. Butter chicken congealed and separated in the tray couldn’t eat it . Pilau rice looked dry and like it was a few days old. Very disappointing. Won’t be using again

Stunning food. We had the beef steak curry special this time which was one of the best curries I've ever had. Nice friendly staff and good service. They don't sell alcohol but you can either bring your own or pop into the shop next door! Prices very reasonable and varied menu.

Food was cool on delivery. Naan was burnt. Chicken Jalfreiz lacked humph. Chicken Tikka Masala bland. No proper receipt showing what price everything was.

Stumbled across this place and can't believe how good it is. Been twice now and on both occasions the food is outstanding 10/10. Service is spot on and the prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone. I just wish it was closer to home 👌

Superb, this place has classics and a few of its own I have not eaten before. Service is brilliant, . This is place to enjoy. Its also stunning value for the quality of food. If you are visiting the area or even at crick marina this is the place to eat oh apart from the boat show as I don't want you going and filling the place up as we will be back.

Excellent food & large portions for a takeaway.

Ordered a delivery meal on the spur of the moment yesterday. Arrived within half an hour. Hot and very tasty. Extra pickles included. As with everything price appears to have risen. But, hayho. Nothing we can do about that.

Nice food, they don't serve alcohol

We took some friends here for an authentic Indian meal, the food was fabulous, we all chose different dishes and they all came together, piping hot and all absolutely delicious, will definitely be returning soon

We decided to order via Just Eat last night, on recommendations from friends. It arrived on time and with 2 free poppadums (I forgot to order some), which was a nice touch - even though they were crushed into 100 pieces. However - the meals - both Luke warm and had to be microwaved. My chicken Rogan Josh was more like chicken and tomato….not a hint, not even the minutest hint of spice, bland boring and tasteless. My wife’s Tikka Marsala was swimming in sauce and, whist it had a bit of flavour, was also very mediocre. HUGELY disappointed.

Another spur of the moment delivery from The Exotica. Very nice Mr Fawlty. Delivery on time. More pickles than we’d asked for, and extra popudoms. Some clients have suggested that the portions are smaller. We had two main courses and one rice and ended up throwing some into the food waste bin. It was bloody lovely. Pity their not open Christmas Day. That would be us sorted.

The best bengal dinner I've ever had

This has been our regular restaurant for many years and have recommended to many friends who are also now regulars.. On our last visit they half filled the curry containers rather than fill them to the top. There was less meat and paneer in the containers as well. They usually give 3 popodams and mint sauce, when I opened the bag there was half a popodam in there. The mint sauce was watered down. I have stopped going here now, and am trying other restaurants in Rugby. It's a shame as I liked the food from exotica and travelled 14 miles round trip and have been going there for over a decade. I won't be going after my last experience as it was very disappointing.

Worst takeaway in Rugby/Hilmorton area, the food was reheated and either had a bleach like taste or reaked of ammonia. Onion bahjis were flat, burnt and leathery. I've never wasted so much food from a takeaway, not to mention the huge amount of plastic waste. Nothing was flavoured, most of the food used powdered chilli to increase the spiciness of the food without lending it any flavour. Everything dripped with oil and grease. Avoid at all costs, we paid £35 for the two of us to get upset stomachs and be left hungry.

We called in with a large group at short notice after being disappointed with the local Greene King pub and were delighted with the prompt and friendly service. Curry was excellent, highly recommend. #adrianscanalboatcruise2021

Superb, in-fact the very best curry dish I have ever had. The Tawa Chicken was superbly good. Staff very helpful & friendly, and a great price too. Not licensed so buy your drinks from the off license next door.

Met here with two friends as one had suggested it and its local to area my parents live as well. The pictures of the front don't do it justice now it looks like alot of money has been spent doing up the place inside and out. Looks very smart. No alcohol is sold on the premises but that wasn't a problem as the shop next door sold chilled wine and beer you could take in. All 3 of us had something different lamb Tawa, chicken and mushroom buna. Can't remember the other dish but it was lamb. All 3 of us said how tasty and delicious the food was with the right amount of zing. Meat was tender importantly too. All cooked fresh and looked good. The best Indian food we had all had in a very long time. Friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommend.

We have had numerous take aways whilst in this pandemic, this evening we went and ate at the restaurant, wow the food was amazing, beautifully cooked and well presented , you just can't beat fresh tasty food . We will definitely be seeing you again very soon.

A very poor experience. A significant amount was ordered which turned out to be reheated food from the night before if not older, this included an overload of salt and limited condiments. Can say hands down that I will not be ordering from here again.

Food was delivered on time and hot. Cost of pickles has escalated. However the food tasted quite bland and without flavour. Wouldn’t use them again. Don’t know how this as happened. Never mind.

Excelent welcome with an exquisite board of fare, Naga Chicken dishes are particularly very good. A must try place. Give it a go.😎

Had a takeaway on the spur of the moment. Good delivery time. Friendly driver. My wife thought her chicken tikka masala had to much sauce. My chicken jalfrezi was lovely. .Good pickles with popudom, nice garlic naan. It is what it is.

We love Exotic. It has recently had a refurbishment and looks so contemporary and nice inside. The food is always amazing and service really good.

On the spur of the moment my wife decided that we wanted an Indian. Ha ha. Having to order via the internet wasn’t quite as good as normal. My wife wife described her chicken tikka masala as ‘ like chicken in tomato soup ‘. My chicken jalfriezi had very little onion and no chilli. Very disappointed. Pickles were good, naan bread good. But wouldn’t rush back.

Delicious. We were visiting by boat and the other reviews were great. You know it’s going to be tasty when you open the containers and the fragrant aroma hits. Great curry and you get lovely tender meat in the dishes. We had Chicken balti, lamb dupiaza, mushroom bhaji, sheek kebab, keema naan and pilau rice and all were lovely. We were given extra poppodoms and naan with our order. Thank you we loved your food.

Had a take away from here tonight £30+ and having been regular"s here I will never be using them again, the food was obviously pre cooked / re-heated, my wife"s curry had hardly any chicken and the sauce tasted burnt, I had special biriyani and I have no Idea what was special about It with ONE prawn and 4 pieces of Lamb In It and the rest Vegetables !! our lad had Korma which was ok, Nan breads were tiny !! Food used be great from here, Not Impressed at all !!

This is an excellent family friendly restaurant. The food is all cooked fresh on site and is amazing. It is family run and the service is very attentive and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. Don’t forget to take your own alcohol but if you do there is an off license next door

Whilst watching the magnificent Sky Blues more than hold their own against Birmingham City I received a text message from my wife at home asking if I could pick up a Set meal for two on the way home. Never had Lamb Bhuna before but it was very tasty. I have too say the meal for two could easily have fed another person. I was very surprised that they no longer serve alcohol, which I’ve always enjoyed whilst waiting for my takeaway . Very polite staff, it probably was because it was early, 6.30pm, but there was only one couple eating in the restaurant, however the takeaways were doing a roaring trade. Not sure about taking your own alcoholic drinks into the restaurant, wouldn’t be my cup of tea.

Just had another takeaway delivered to us at work, each and every time we have had one they seem to get better and better every one of us were more than pleased with the quality and quantity and so so tasty roll on our next one.

We looked this up as we were staying with friends in Hillmorton on two boats. Went along to get a takeaway The owners and staff were very friendly when we went in. the place is not huge but I would definitely go and eat in. very well presented and very clean. While we were waiting there was a constant flow of customers coming and thy seem to be known on first names so I think the restaurant has a large client base Rightly.We were not disappointed with the food, well cooked very tasty, and very good portions.we had several different dishes and all were good

After 12 years out of the country we decided to visit our old favourite. So glad to see nothing much had changed. Abdul (front of house) and Ikbal (working his magic in the kitchen) brilliant brothers still doing their thing and producing amazing food and excellent service. Don't be put off if you have a bit of a wait, it's well worth it, the food is excellent as too is the service. One very happy returning customer.

Am on a training course in Daventry, fancied a balti so tried this place. Good location, parking and a small but very tastefully decorated place. Staff very friendly and food was excellent. Had a starter, main (not on menu but it was made for me with no issues) and roti. Not licensed but I wasnt drinking in any case. Will ise again for sure, next time Im in the area ... TH

We boat all around the country and have tried many Indian restaurants but this place is the best I’ve come across for quality. The food seems all fresh and isn’t drowned in ghee or oil. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere chilled. The prices aren’t the cheapest but you do get the quality you pay for plus more. One thing to note is that although there is a great selection of alcohol free drinks, you need to buy any alcoholic drinks from the shop next door or bring your own. We bought a nice bottle of red wine for £5.99 which is well under half what you would normally pay in a restaurant! Glasses, ice etc are supplied. We had 3 papadums, chicken biriani, chicken jalfrezi (with pilau rice) and onion bhaji. Our bill came to less than £30 for the two of us (obviously no drinks charged for). So not much money for a great Indian meal. It’s made me realise that some Indian restaurants need to up their game. We’ll be back a third time next time we pass Hillmorton on the canal.

Having just returned from two weeks in Egypt decided to pop in at 5.30 pm last Saturday. The food and service was simply fabulous. My wife had the king prawn tawa which was extravagant in quantity of prawns, accompanied by a beautiful aubergine, onion, pepper based sauce...well worth a try if you like seafood. My chicken dish was very tasty accompanied by nan and pilau rice. What is excellent about this Indian is we are always made to feel special, food is exceptionally good quality and always served piping hot. Staff are so polite and helpful with menu choice, complements to your wonderful chef.

Quality staff and food, best in rugby!generous portions and tasty. Complentary afters include mints, hot towel, aniseed mix, sugar sweet and either a heated brandy for him, or a baileys for her. Will definitely be back!

For a takeaway it’s pretty good . Chicken sag nice .

The butter chicken and pathos were delicious but the vegetable balti was disappointing, was expecting fresh peppers onions and tomatoes but was like a curry from a tin. The sauce for the poppadoms was spilt all over the bag also which I know was probably the car journey. Food quite cold also when arrived.

No apology for it being late by the driver, food was cold so had to reheat it..

food was late, when I went to speak to delivery driver he was on the phone, all food tasted like it was re-heated, will definitely not use again and this used to be a favourite
