Exceptionally tasty food. We had a Dosa each (stuffed rice pancake) and a very tasty Chettinad chicken and Nan bread split. Very friendly service. Cannot recommend more highly on a quality/ value basis

Just had a delivery from Dosa village. My first time of trying food from there. Unfortunately it will be my last. The curry was like water with 5 lumps of boiled chicken in it that clearly had just been added to the sauce. I’m assuming a coleslaw came too which was a watery texture with a few strands of cabbage and carrot in it. The naan bread was so thin it was practically a crisp. The only thing that was ok was the boiled rice which isn’t too hard to get wrong. My kids had tandoori chicken which was served with one soggy lettuce leaf, the chicken was pretty average. I’m disappointed and the majority of it has gone in the bin.

The best biryani i have had so far in the UK, traditional jeeraga samba mutton biryani ordered through catering along with Chicken salna, parotta and gulab jamoon. Well done!

I expected fresh vegetables in a thick sauce as in the pictures, but received a thin and over spiced sauce with overboiled pieces of aubergine and peppers? Very disappointed.

Lovely fresh food. Had that home cooked feel. Dosa was really good.

I don't know how to describe this food. The butter chicken only had 3 or 4 pieces of chicken in it, the rest was an inedible sauce, it gave me a stomach ache. And dosa is supposed to be crispy, I guess. It was a takeaway, otherwise I would have asked for a refund.

Had back to back experience with no chicken in Chicken Biriyani and No Mutton in Mutton biriyani. Just delivered masala rice

The tandoori chicken was excellent - althouh I prefer a tandoori colour which it lacked. The Lamb curry was tasty - but more sauce than Lamb. I was not impressed by the Dosa - soggy.

Karthik was unbelievably rude! His team were extremely impolite and Bhuvnasweari Sivakumar added extra food to the bill. How dare they. There were flies coming from the toilet and children running around and doing homework

We were around 20 people and went there for the birthday celebration. The service was excellent, and the food was fresh. I definitely recommend it; it is worth every penny spent.

Food is tasty.. still didn’t loose the authentic Andhra cuisine taste. Heaters are turned off, can’t complain by seeing energy bills. Don’t expect starters and mains to come in order.. food will be served as and when item is ready in kitchen.

The best hotel for South Indian food in uk.. The chef Gopi gave delicious food, which you can't taste in any other places in uk!! Especially chicken 65 and chicken biryani tastes ultimate.. we had tasty food with excellent service.. most friendly and lovely staff!! Beautiful surroundings and the dining itself was well equipped and very comfortable.. food was really good and great value for money.. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future😊 RUGBY DOSA VILLAGE 10/10..

Unhygienic, no one was there to take orders for 15 mins despite of empty restaurant. The toilet was smelling and we could smell it on the table as well. The restaurant was not clean Also, the food was below average, the chutney with Dosa was frozen and salty. I have fallen sick after eating there! Will never recommend anyone to go there.

We've been customers for many years. Most of our local Indian restaurants we refer to as slop & rice restaurants as generally the food swims in oil. But not here at Dosa Village, their South Indian food is exceedingly well flavoured and non oily and most importantly delicious. I highly recommend choosing Pani Puri as your starter.

The food here is the closest to a proper home cooked South indian meal 🙂 But I am disappointed that the chicken curry has only four pieces, a big let down for the price charged. And also, I wouldn’t recommend Rose milk here 😟

I went 2/3 times here but can’t see any changes in service which is very slow, drinks pathetic, Have to wait long for food. To cold inside. Ordered food and wait for half n hour and after told by one of dish is run out.

Used to be decent before COVID. . But now, absolutely terrible. One of the worst places to eat in the West Midlands. Once I saw a waiter sneeze into one of the takeaway meals before wrapping it up. Truly vile food. Also service and staff behavior is extremely poor and unprofessional.

Really absolutely lovely and VERY authentic food. Waiters and kitchen staff were lovely. The idl with chutneys, in particular the samba dahl was 💯. A shame about the plain decor as puts people off. But We like a cafe style place- as you’d find in India so we were happy but folks here want more glam. Dont let that put you off. Top food, amazing prices , no rip off huge prices for alcohol either. £33 for meal for Two - a shared large starter, two curries with big rices, a large wine and a pint. Fab .

This resteraunts location may not be the best but the service,atmosphere,food!,and most importantly helpfulness was certainly the best!

Some people won’t like the lo fi cafe atmosphere and decor. The staff wear casual clothes and are very friendly and relaxed. We love this, but some want more of a classic dining experience. Genuine South Indian food, so not your standard ‘Indian’ restaurant in the UK. Very affordable, lovely fresh food, especially the more veg based options. The idli and dosa are a must. Some of the best we’ve had. Totally recommend.

Just the best!!! We’ve eaten keralan before, was in rugby for the night and this was near so we thought we’d go for it. It was empty, which could have definitely put some people off. Thé waiter was so nice and the food really cheap. We ordered idly with chutneys and lentil samba, aubergine curry and chicken chattinat. Two rices, a cobra and large delicious cabernet sauvingon. It took around 20 mins to come and - Well,… the samba and chutneys were out of this world delicious. The curries interesting, delicate, well seasoned and really tasty. The rice beautifully cooked. We tucked in. I can honestly say it was one of the best curries I’d had in a long time. The chefs came out for a chat , they were all so gentle and lovely and we learned it was the waiters first day which I would never had guessed. We couldn’t eat it all and I asked to take the last idly rice cake away and asked for more samba. When I asked the price of the samba the chef said he would give us some for free. To top it all the bill came to £33!!! We left them £42.50 as that’s all the cash we had on us- we felt they were really lovely, genuine people and I really hope more people visit to taste how wonderful their cuisine is. Thé decor is cafe style , not trendy or designer at all, but don’t let that put you off, it’s authentic.

After coming to UK, I was longing for good idly sambar. Trust me I had the best sambar idly, Sambar taste texture and served it very hot hot. I was very happy to share a review since everything is good about this restaurant also we had chicken manchurian, mutton biryani and chicken fried rice

Ugghh!! NEVER SETTING FOOT HERE AGAIN! ABSOLUTELY FILTHY, with a million flies buzzing around the place flying right from the stained dirty toilet seats straight into your plate. Toilet is smelly, no soap provided, toilet doors dont close so unless you are facing the wall all the time you are there, you cant miss the flies shooting out from the toilets chasing waiters into the kitchen and accompanying the waiter to your table riding on your food tray. Raised concern on filth to lady at the counter, she almost proudly said, "WE KNOW its filthy, flies are breeding in our restaurant because of the WET RAINY LAND we are in!!"...and toilet doors are open.. because..obviously dont care, busy billing delivery order to customers who miss the chance to see how their yummy dosas are prepared amidst swarms of flies enjoying the freedom between toilets, the kitchen and the "wet land" Dosa Village is situated in, that the unfortunate restaurant owner can do absolutely nothing about! Disgusting!

Parotta was really good. Tasted like it was made in-house. Lamb chukka was not great. Tasted just like a lamb gravy with some random spices.. lacked flavour. Service was alright

This place is amazing! Food is incredible, service can be slow and the decor isn't great (but also is absolutely not the reason to go here). The Chef creates absolutely awesome, authentic food that is generously portioned and reasonably priced. Worth getting delivered as well!

Ordered 2 biryani but both of them have no meat all bones in the biryani I have told the cook many time about this but he is not serious about the customers feedback and repeating the same thing all the time b worst service looting customers

Please just dont waste your money.we ordered masala dosa,kids dosa and chilli chicken from them...I would say you can prepare better at home.Their quality of food preparation is really not good..they were good when they opened but now the quality of their service has really gone down.

Very disappointed today with the dinner. I took visiting (from India) family guests there hoping to give them some good experience of eating out. But it turned out embarassing for me because we could not enjoy the food quantity and quality. Chicken Biryani was told to be sufficient for 2-3 adults. Though the taste was good, but how can you share if it has only one chicken piece. Egg masala dosa was not having any essence of egg, and it was very soggy. Chutney was either missing salt or may be it was very little. Srilankan Chettinad chicken curry, again the taste was Okay but quantity of chicken was very poor. Since we were not sated after having the above we ordered chicken 65 (starter) additionally. They were like chicken nuggets but so dry that it was hard to eat. I hope Restaurant's in UK which claim to serve India cuisine really provide genuine cuisine.

Food is good, staff are welcoming. The ambience is nice. Best place in Rugby to get some spicy South Indian dishes like Dosa, Idli, Vada, kuththu parota and also North Indian dishes like Naan, Parotta. It has good options for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Limited beverages available like Beer, Vodka, wine, fruit juice and cool drinks.

Southern Indian Cuisine Too authentic, brought back all Goan experiences and memories. The prawn curry and cauliflower were amazing . The accompianments to the Dosa's were poor.

A dosa is one of the best value take out meals you can get atm & haven't been disappointed by one of theirs yet.

Overall feedback : ok. The price was high when compared with Coventry one ( correct me if I am wrong). The tastes was ok, not that great on the day we went.

Delicious food and excellent value

This place is amazing, I can eat here every time. Reasonably priced, very delicious food served very promptly. Staff is very courteous. Good thing is that their quality is consistent. My daughter absolutely loved the gobi 65 and it came in a really good portion size!

Dosa Village is Great they are my go to restaurant for Indian food. Okra and baby Aubergine Curries are amazing, also the Butter chicken and Lamb Mysore Kurma. Chicken 65 and chilli paneer entrees are very good. there can be slight differences in the dishes depending on the cook but I actually really enjoy observing the subtle differences in the dish. We like the biryanis in dosa village . Non vegetarian starters are good too . We ordered vegetarian food for our house function , food was great and our guest loved the authentic South Indian items . I recommend Dosa village for tasty Indian food.

Recently Moved to Dunchurch , so checking out the area for some good food . The customer service is absolutely appalling, went in and ordered some food . Did denote I want it ‘together’ A partial part of my entire order was given out first then after 20 mins I was told it won’t be long for the rest - at the same time somebody who just walked in (with a large family) was served promptly whilst I sat and waited for the rest of my order . Left the restaurant paying for the part of it . Food wasn’t bad although coke was flat and customer service was nonexistence.

Great spicy Chicken Biriyani. A must try.

Starters were great. 4 of us all had something different. Main courses were all different but all had far too much salt. Service was terrible. Starters weren't cleared away before some of the mains were brought over. Mains and sundries were delivered at different intervals. Restaurant was also cold but I guess we'll have to get used to that everywhere. Good to see an Indian restaurant with different and more authentic offerings to the standard UK menu. With a few tweaks could be so much better.

Ordered food last night delivery on time food was cold naan was dry curry was ok veg biryani was not veg biryani rice was over cooked it was just simple pulao This place use to be my favorite Not anymore.

We ordered gobi Manchurian & mysore masala dosa. Gobi Manchurian could be more crunchy no wonder the taste was amazing! The masala dosa was really yummy and so authentic with 2 tasty chutneys and delicious sambhar! Worth a visit if you love South Indian food!

Really good dosas.... Just makes you remember the south Indian food that you get in India. Also the chicken chettinad is a good south Indian curry to try for.

Tasty and authentic south Indian food... Chef Gopi was very accommodating and tailored some dishes to our taste. Enjoyed our evening and will come back for more.

We had food from Rugby Dosa Village and it was a pleasant experience. Everything tasted like back home. There is enough space and tables inside the restaurant but the size of the table was very small for four. Great service and good food.

Toilet was just vulgar and clearly not cleaned ever..: made me feel sick. The service was appalling but they still took money for the service saying they did not understand English!

Warning - don't order from this restauarnt, food quality is really poor. I am an Indian and someone from catering industry and i have never tasted food this bad in my whole life

Delicious masala dosa, vegan...the coconut chutney was super fresh and tasty. Service was kind and warm-hearted...all for very good prices!

Authentic South Indian food at very reasonable price and the food quantity is the best you can get for the price. It is one of the best places where I had Indian food. Comfortably spacious too.

Perhaps Tuesday evenings are quiet in Rugby, and I found myself the only customer seated in the restaurant. Atmosphere was perhaps a little hard to assess, though a group of diners would no doubt make for a livelier time. I ordered the Sri Lankan chicken, rice and nan. I'm not familiar with Sri Lankan food so I cannot vouch for its authenticity but it was certainly delicious, spicy but not too hot and the quantity was just right for me. Staff were friendly and attentive, (as the only customer at the time that wasn't too difficult, several takeaway orders were collected at the same time though), and, a sign of good food in my experience, the chef was singing in the kitchen behind me. Happy chef = a great meal.

Best dosas in town! Also recommend their utthapam and idli plus vada. Lamb chukka and any of the other biryanis are also tops. Lovely staff, and honestly can’t go wrong with anything ordered from this restaurant

I've been searching for authentic south Indian food in UK since long, glad to say found one finally!!! Ordered mysore masala dosa, chicken chettinad, chicken biryani and several naan's every single bite was full of genuine authentic Indian taste and awesomeness. Glad to see the portions are too worth the money. 10/10 ratings!!!

Some delicious authentic dosa and sambar!

Worst place and not honest at all. Ordered 15 rotis from menu card for a party and during collection they charged extra saying the menu card has changed now. Such dishonest behaviour. Will never buy anything from there. The roti was so hard and of poor quality. Wouldn't even give a single star for such business ethics.

We ordered biryani and Korma for friends who liked mild curries. These were way too hot and the curries for the rest of the party were very hot too. The chef needs to watch the chilli!

Well to say the food was fantastic is almost an understatement. Seriously, one of the best Indian restaurants I have eaten at. The restaurant lacks ambience, as no music and the staff are dressed in their jeans and t-shirts. I recommended they wear authentic Indian costumes, place some paintings on the walls, subtle music in the background, tidy the documents on one table away, and to relocate their takeaway bell as it does become annoying. The food cannot be faulted. Fantastic food and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

Quiet when i visited on a Wednesday night but that did not detract from the warm welcome and excellent cooking. I had the pani puri, chilli paneer and ghee roast dosa finished with a masala chai.... all were excellent... looking forward to my next visit

I came from Coventry to Rugby only to taste Chicken Briyani of Dosa Village Rugby. Recant times My friend recommended it. Briyani is absolutely delicious as I expected. Worth for money and travel. Never tasted like this in UK.

Dosa village is my new favourite restaurant, i dine in with my family and also ordered food couple of times, delicious food, Lovely staff.. totally recommend, would love to visit again soon
