Me & a Bestie went for a long overdue catch up. We were served mainly Emma. But To be fare! All the staff were lovely. The food was just sublime.! Highly recommended!! 🙂

First time here and what a beautiful place! The food and service is amazing. Will definitely be back if we in the area again in the future.

We called in on our way back from Webbs - the car park was full at 2.30pm so we thought that’s a good sign! We were greeted and seated quickly, drinks and food order taken promptly. We both opted for the Duo of Beef from the specials menu, it was absolutely delicious - compliments to the chef! No room for dessert unfortunately, but we’ll definitely be returning!

We ate at the restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary having spent the previous 5 days around Oxford and the Cotswolds. So we've been in a few nice places to eat and drink. The food was lovely, presentation was just beautiful and o couldn't believe when the bill arrived that we got such great value for a three course meal with water and drinks. We live too far away to visit often, but rest assured next time we are in town we will definitely eat here. Family who live in the area already dine here and I am very glad they recommended you! The only thing i had to mark down for was a wobbly table (awkward when cutting food) and slightly uncomfortable chairs. Other than that everything was perfect. Thank you for a lovely exoerience.

Having eaten here many times and had fabulous food and service we were very disappointed today as the staff weren't particularly friendly, and couldn't find anyone when we wanted coffee, so we went without. I had the Monkfish, one of my favourite fish, it was really dry and the sauce was very bitter, the leeks were very hard and it was quite tasteless. I was very disappointed as my 92 year old Aunty only gets out when I come to see her. Her prawn and crab salad was very nice she said. The wine selection for Rosé is not very extensive (choice of two?) And as a french Rosé drinker again disappointed. Won't rush back!

Came in for Sunday lunch and was delighted with the amount of vegetarian options on offer. A few of us had the roast dinner and I had the battered halloumi and chips. Those who had the roast loved it, especially the meat free wellington which looked spectacular. I had the halloumi and chips and it was beautiful, one of the best vegetarian fish alternatives I've had in a while. Thoroughly enjoyed it with the tartar sauce. Wine and cocktail selection was enjoyed by those who had them and I enjoyed the guest beers on tap. Will be back again to sample more of the menu!

I keep coming back to The Ewe and Lamb, the food menus are always exceptional and enhanced by the specials menu. Without exception each time that I have eaten there the food has been well prepared and beautifully presented and tastes amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful and always made to feel welcome.

First time at the Ewe and Lamb for Sunday lunch. The waitress was very friendly and came and took our drinks order straight away, coming back shortly afterwards to take our food order. The beef and chicken were both excellent - the vegetables and trimmings were outstanding. No room for dessert unfortunately and very good value. Will be back!

Sunday lunch at the Ewe and lamb is always good; but yesterday’s meal was superb and the waitress was lovely and efficient considering how very busy they were. Well done.

We went with another couple who thought it was marvellous the best Sunday lunch they had for a long time. They really loved the whole experience and far better than others they had had recently . Excellent as normal.

The food here is always delicious and carefully prepared. could be a bit more staffed on busy days as trying to get the bill at the end was slightly difficult. But a great restaurant with lovely staff and I definitely reccomend visiting!

Delicious Sunday roast with generous helpings of tasty vegetables with plenty of gravy. Nice touch to have extra gravy boat to top up meal. We ate in the extension which was comfortable and warm enough for our 2 great grandmas. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was scrumptious and puddings which we squeezed in were excellent. Looking forward to next trip

Both myself and my wife really enjoyed our visit to the Yew and Lamb. We both chose meals from the main venue, which was beautifully cooked with the exception of the vegetable which were eldenta to the exstream, nearly hitting the hot water. This meant that they were very uncooked. Other than that, the rest of the meal was beautiful and we would certainly come again.

The help we received with having to move our reservation time was very good. We were greeted very warmly and shown to a lovely table. The staff were helpful,friendly and accommodating to our needs. The only criticism was that the main course arrived too soon after our starter. Everything else was enjoyable and we had an amazing evening.

Fantastic Sunday roast. Good service and dog friendly too

This is our second time in a month dining at The Ewe and Lamb and we’ve enjoyed it both times. The menu is wide and varied, with some really “different” things available, plus there are daily specials. Portions are generous, beautifully presented and, in our opinion, good value for money. There’s a good drinks selection and the service has always been prompt and friendly. It’s about twenty minutes’ drive from our home and we’re happy to make the journey as it’s worth it.

We all had meals from the set menu which was excellent and very good value.

Highly recommended. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. All the staff were attentive and friendly. All in all a very good experience and I shall definitely be returning.

The overall experience was fantastic. If I have 1 criticism it’s the beef wellington dish. It’s beautiful and the mash that comes with it is fantastic but 1 slice of wellington is plenty and we could have shared 1 main wellington dish easily. We will definitely be back and enjoying the food but will probably leave out a starter so I can finish the main.

Absolutely outstanding food, enjoyed every bite. Prices are expensive when looking at the menu, but the quality and taste of the food matched up to that. So it was definitely worth the price. Fantastic presentation of food and the flavours were lovely. Hats off to their chefs!

One of our local favs. We went for the 3 items for £26 menu. Fishcakes & crispy beef salad followed by chicken & pork with black pudding. We finished with choc brownie. Our meals were delish, full of detail and flavours and presented so elegantly on each plate. I tried a new Theakston blonde beer whilst my darling wife had the piniot. Service was as usual brilliant.

Four of us met up for a mid week get together. Car park was nearly full at quarter past six which was a good sign ! Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was lovely, we all enjoyed our meals. Not a cheap night but worth it ! Would come back again and recommend

Not our first visit, but food and service lovely. Gastro pubs I think can be very hit and miss and we are fussy, but the standard of food and the cooking and presentation is excellent. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and bonus beer garden with kids play area. We will be back.

I'm 61. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Lovely food from the set menu. Particularly enjoyed the fish and chips. One of the barmaids/waitresses pulled the wrong beer for my first pint but I had it, as I was going to have that beer later; these things happen. Not cheap, but worth it.

Always liked the pub, sadly we were left alone throughout our visit, waited, went to order drinks, just as the waitress arrived, had to ask fir the order to be taken, had to ask fir the bill, no courtesy calls etc, Normally your great, this time, not the best!

Love the experience we receive and that’s why we return time after time.

The food was very good I had a meal of salmon with scallops. The meal was a little slow arriving as we were having an early dinner so not very busy but it was delicious.

This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent, with an excellent range of options, and the service good. The value was outstanding. The only niggle we had was the noise level. We were in the 'conservatory' area and because there were no soft furnishings, and it was busy, it was quite loud and noisy. It felt too much of a hassle to ask to move as it seemed that this was the only area, other than outside, that was being served.

Fabulous roast! 6 veg, perfect beef, huge Yorkshire and lots of roasties. Did nt eat anything else all day!

We were in the orangery, rather than outside. Nice and quiet, lovely and relaxing.

Ewe & Lamb is beautifully decorated and staff are very welcoming. The food was delicious. We had the duo of lamb off the special and the halloumi with chips and posh peas. The halloumi came out looking like a battered piece of fish and it was excellent. Presentation lovely and service staff were brilliant. Highly recommend. We will definitely be going again!!

Have reserved table at the Ewe and Lamb on several occasions and have never had reason to complain. The food is varied and there is obviously a very good chef in attendance. On this occasion, I took three new friends and they were all very impressed with the quality and cooking of food. To be recommended without doubt.

Good atmosphere. Nice welcome. Food was good but not spectacular. Plates and food was hot. Really good service on a hot and busy night.

Enjoyed the chicken roulade very much. Service was good even though there were a lot of people in the outdoor section there was no delay inside.

This place is a real treasure. Sunday roast was absolutely outstanding, beautifully cooked and presented. The roast beef literally melted in your mouth and the swede/carrott/ginger mash was exquisite. I was too full for dessert but had one anyway and like the roast, it was superb. I had the Mille feuille “special” which I would highly recommend if it’s on the menu … The waiting team were attentive and efficient but didn’t hover over you which was a definite feather in the cap ! Now, think that this place isn’t cheap but at the same time I didn’t think it was over priced and so the cost wasn’t an issue, especially after such an outstanding meal … if you want cheap, that’s what the Toby Carvery is for … The entire meal was 5* will definitely be going back. Thank you to the entire team, it really was an amazing experience. My friend was so impressed she has booked next weekend and is taking her family … enough said I think …

It was a busy Saturday evening. We had to wait to be seated at our table because the table was still occupied. Then it took a while for someone to take our order. We eventually ordered our food to be informed that the would be a long wait for food to arrive and advise us to order bread or a starter to kerb the time gap...we didn't want bread or a starter. The food arrived 1 hr later. The food was amazing, presented well and delicious 😋 that made up for the wait. I would recommend the food however the wait time is off putting.

Overall very good food but the desserts were just ok . Both the treacle tart and lemon meringue had very thick and hard bases. Nice waitress who was welcoming !!

It was my husbands birthday, the food was excellent, service was good, although we did wait a while, it was worth the wait. Possibly the best ribeye steak I have ever had!

When we arrived we were advised that they were just about to serve a group of 30 people so there might be a slight delay, but that they could get us a drink to get started. We were given menus and ordered a drink while choosing. The drinks came fairly quickly, but it took half an hour before our order was taken and another half an hour before the starter came. So we sat there for an hour without food. We were absolutely starving by then. We had ordered the fish plate to share, and when it was delivered it was just put on the table. The waitress realised that no side plates were on the table yet, so they were brought later. We were not asked if we wanted to order more drinks and before we even had the chance to say we wanted to order more drinks, she had gone. Clearly somebody realised after that she'd forgotten the tartare sauce, so that was delivered to the table a few minutes later. To be fair the fish plate was nice, but was a little heavy. The mains arrived within 10 minutes of clearing the started. It was nicely presented (we'd ordered the chicken, and beef wellington) but we didn't enjoy it. The mushroom was very tough and chewy, the potato was mushy and overcooked, and everything was very heavy. We only finished half of our plates. When clearing, we were asked if we were finished., not if we had enjoyed it. We decided against dessert. Service was inattentive. I had to get up and ask for the bill as no one was paying attention to us. When we came in and were told that we could get a drink to get started, i thought that this was meant to be complementary for the expected delay, but it wasnt. It was added to the bill.

We use the Ewe and Lamb on a regular basis and we’re never disappointed food is always of a great quality whether it’s Sunday lunch (pork dinner is great!) or an evening meal (beef wellington superb!) service is great also

What superb food and well priced. The fish and chips were as good as I have ever had all our party enjoyed their food. We were served coffee in the garden on a beautiful day. I can heartedly recommend this place

First visit. Welcoming staff and a good choice of menu for a Sunday. Plenty of drinks to choose from. Nice table for my wife and I by the window and Magda, the young lady looking after our table was pleasant and helpful throughout our lunch. Food was excellent. Chicken Roast Dinner and Battered Haddock with hand cut chips and crushed garden peas. Good value for money but the lack of any sound insulation in the area where we dined resulted in some rather loud conversations, from nearby tables, causing some distraction. Difficult to converse across our table at times. The only downside to the lunch. Noise seemed to bounce around the room off the painted walls and ceiling.

Another very good meal from the set menu. My only criticism would be the saffron and vanilla pannacotta…. I don’t think it needed the saffron at all. I felt it completely swamped the vanilla A shame as usually the desserts are fantastic !!

Overall satisfactory,we use the pub regularly , but unfortunately , we felt this time by waiting staff, and menu. The main menu Hardly changes and the waiting staff looked and acted miserable this time too, acted like they didn’t want to be there.Some dishes are over complicated ( less is more),the pork chop had way too many flavours and then the potato side dish was so rich it was inedible . Another point is the staff never return to your table and ask if you would like another drink. You have to gather their attention. I’m not saying it’s bad, but maybe slightly slipping into ‘ we’re the Ewe and lamb and we are the best in the area’

The hake was well cooked, tasty and well presented. The beef wellington was poor quality and tough giving the impression that it had been cooked previously and then reheated for the occasion. This was mentioned to staff who passed the message on to the chef but no reduction made to the final bill to acknowledge that the beef was inedible and could therefore not be consumed.

Good value lunchtime menu. Fourof us. Different dishes, all enjoyed. Staff very friendly. Recommend for anyone looking for a decent lunch.

We have used the Ewe & Lamb very regularly, at least once every couple of months. Not sure what has changed in terms of team/kitchen but favourites were no longer on the menu yesterday. Prices have gone up about 15% and a couple of the extras were not great. Ham hock scotch egg was under seasoned, did they assume the harissa would mask it? Cauliflower cheese, lacked cheese. Yellow white sauce would have been a better description. Beef and trimmings was excellent however, and staff are always lovely. We will use again, but ….
