Been looking for decent Chinese cuisine in Hamilton for a while now. This is the answer. Hadn’t used Evelyns in years because of proximity but glad I’ve revisited. Outstanding.

Found my new favourite. The chefs special - crispy shredded chicken in satay sauce is **chefs kiss**. Decent portions, early delivery and the foods always piping hot. No complaints.

I don't go anywhere else when Evelyns is closed... food is brilliant and I'm fussy, like annoyingly fussy and I've yet to have a bad meal... defo a must at least try once... first class

Disappointing with a £90 order to get no prawn crackers, I thought these were added free with large orders.

I was unable to eat the orange chicken , the chicken was inedible , was like shoe leather , couldn’t even cut it . Plus grey in colour. I have kept it for evidence. I would like a refund asap .

I absolutely love Evelyn Chinese. I absolutely hate when they close for a break... it's been a long month... I forgot to ask for peas in my fried rice within the notes and when I called they knew... awesome food, awesome service from awesome staff...

chicken with pineapple and ginger had no taste at all... couldn't eat it and after all the years ive ordered from here this isnt the first time...i just forget ..but wont order anything again.

Another lovely meal. This place never disappoints, the food is always fresh and hot. I highly recommend the salt and chilli king prawns! Hands down the best Chinese in the area.

Second time ordering from here. Both times food has arrived early and piping hot. Ordered the satay which was the best satay I’ve tried in Hamilton. The chips were perfect and fresh, not re heated or chewy like most places. Will definitely order again

The food was reasonably good but ridiculously expensive £13.50 for a chow mein. Mains and starters for 2 people came to £52 absolutely nuts and they didn't even include free prawn crackers. I use Shanghai Blossom now, better quality food at LITERALLY half the price.

Evelyn's is hands down the best Chinese food around. The most important factor here is consistency. We've had food from Evelyn's heaps of times and every single time it has been excellent and hot. I can't think of another restaurant that can boast this. Stay awesome guys 😎

we have a history of ordering at Evelyn's at least omce a week, but recently the food has started to go down hill, tonight was the worst, the Chips were reheated and cold, the Chicken Curry was waterered down and cold, the Chow Mein was also cold total cost £38.00 not acceptable. All of the food lacked flavour, We will not be returning and looking for a alternative Chinese.

1st time buying from here, and the last. Really poor quality. Bland basic shiny gelatinous S&S sauce, nothing else in it. Chips n Gravy, which congealed into a combined stodgy mass even before it was cold, with over-cooked chips. Not cheap either!

1st order in a while and, unfortunately, it will be my last order. Can't fault the flavour, the food was hot, well cooked. Delivered on time, though bit of a wait due to weekend. The rice & sauce were good & ribs were great, although I had to scrape the sauce off as there's no option for dry. Chicken dishes are the issue for me - the chicken has a really odd, rubbery texture, like it's frozen chicken that's been used. I'm not sure if it is or if it's the cooking method but it ended up binned.

Good food - surprised no prawn crackers like every other Chinese though? Collection was late even though we were told it was ready. Food was hot and tasty though - especially the steamed buns. Will be back, but why no prawn crackers?!?

I love Evelyn’s and the family have ordered here for many a year. Sadly the food was not up to its normal standard.

Lemon Sauce inedible chicken stringy/tough & boiled rice gloopy- was recommended to try here by relative but very disappointed with meal delivered

Staff are nice, but they won't alter ingredients, they'll deduct one and charge you for the other. It's a terrible practice. I literally live within walking distance but tend to avoid this place. There's only a few items on the menu I like and their unwillingness to substitute items for cheaper ingredients irks me enough that I'm willing to walk/drive the extra 5 minutes for food that's just as good at half the price. Avoid, unless you enjoy spending lots of money on mediocre food.

For the price I was expecting something else. Food was okay. Cardboard tray for fried rice curry? Was everywhere.

Went here for first time other night. Staff were friendly. Place was immaculate and service was quick. Food was amazing one of best in hamilton.

amazingly tasteless chowmein, got yhe black bean and also the satay one and both were rubbish, 12 squid each and just in the bin

Really enjoyed this one, chicken curry was great and salt and chilli chips were perfect.

Evelyns is my favourite Chinese and their chow mein is brilliant although this time is wasn't nice at all and that's a first in over a year or longer...

Expensive had to buy fried rice separately for curry ,peking and bbq suace spare ribs hardly any meat and really dry no free prawn crackers at least when I spent £50 on a order

Fried rice was brick hard, chips were the scraps overcooked and solid, and the shredded chicken tasted like 3days old repeats

food was disgusting. ordered beef curry with fried rice came all together in a cardboard box. chicken amd cashew was certainly not chicken, rubbery processed white chewy meat. not be ordering from here again totally disappointed

Food was mediocre at best to be honest. Rice was pretty dry and the sauce tasteless. No dip with the spring rolls and no prawn crackers either (which would’ve been fine if everything else was really good). Delivery time wasn’t great either. Not worth the money in my opinion.

As someone who can’t eat spicy foods I ordered the special fried rice. This is the first time I’ve had chilli’s in the order. I couldn’t eat it and nowhere on the menu did it show it has chilli’s or was spicy. Not impressed.

I think I've developed a chemical dependence on their Salt and Chilli ribs ..... just sayin .....

The chips were terrible, hard and look like they’d been re cooked a few times. The rice and chicken curry wasn’t great either. Don’t know what’s happened tonight, usually a nice meal from here.

For almost 17 pound for the platter I would of expected what is says a 'platter' I was very dissatisfied with how little there was and the satay sauce I recieved was in the smallest tub known to mankind I poured it on to a table spoon and that was it??? Not worth the money. The combination chicken was OK but had better. First time trying this restraunt and definitely won't be returning. Spent over £30 and no free prawn crackers or anything the other Chinese restaurant I use give you free prawn crackers and free mini spring rolls if you spend over £20 Waste of money for near to nothing what you get.

An hour late. Had to call Take away and they didn't know where meal was. Told me it was delivered when it hadn't been. Called back to tell me some delivery driver story and that they had to make the order again. When it finally arrived, , meal was bland in taste. Will not use again.

Ok so slightly more expensive than most other Hamilton Chinese but there is a reason for that. Very generous portions (12 large slices of chicken in my Lemon chicken) and BBQ Ribs were excellent. Overall delicious.

I absolutely love Evelyn's. But I don't know what happened with this order. The salt and chilli chicken balls were actually just normal chicken balls with a pile of salt. And I mean like a white coating of sea salt. Inedible. Have loved every meal I've had here until this one. I feel bad even posting this. But honestly tasted like a shovel of salt was poured over everything.

Our local takeaway was closed and decided to use Evelyn's for takeout, I will definitely use Evelyn's again as the meal was brilliant! Salt and chilli chips were great and crispy, curry sauce extra hot was amazing as well. I didn't have to wait long on delivery too.

I found my chicken ham fried rice very salty, but portion size was good and fast delivery...

Just went to Evelyn’s for the first and last time, £17 for dreadful chips (hard and not peeled properly), yellow runny curry sauce, and breast of chicken (processed) curry, I had a good right to take it back for refund. Avoid this takeaway, at all cost.
