Ev Bar in Southwark

This was a great place showing the World Cup - would definitely go back again to watch other sporting fixtures. Big jugs of beer make ordering easy and the atmosphere was great.

Rather rude, miserable barman and pint with the biggest head you've seen on it. Begrudgingly topped up but still with w considerable head. Lots of great pubs nearby where you can get a full pint and something resembling customer service.

A great spot for an after work drink with a great vibe and fantastic music with a generally young, non-professional (that's a good thing) crowd. The only slight issue was that at one stage the bar was only being manned by one person, but reasonably swiftly help was at hand.

We live locally, and having been working from home for 18 months, popping to Ev for a relaxing lunch and a refreshing beer has been our escape into the outside world. We use the bar and sit in the beautiful outside area because we can take our small dog with us and be a family. The barmen/waiters bring him a bowl of water. The staff are always friendly and helpful. And the food is tasty and fresh. I understand that it is the fault of the current circumstances, but the reason I have missed one star, is that the menu is a bit more limited than it used to be. Bring back the lamb meat and hummus sandwich please!! 😃

Visited EV Bar for three of England’s EURO 2020 knockout games, including the Final which we had booked before the tournament begun. I cannot get over how appalling the service was for all three games - we gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first game as we thought they may have been over-stretched and under-prepared but it actually got worse. Rude staff, waits as long as 45 minutes for a drink, members of staff actively avoiding making eye contact so they weren’t coming to our tables to take orders, awful food, and a limited drinks menu (which they only decided on after the first game). Genuinely baffled by the whole experience. Shame as we enjoyed the 2018 World Cup in there but at a time where service is more important than ever, EV Bar failed. Miserably. Won’t be watching future tournaments here I’m afraid.

Came on 3 occasions to watch the football over the course of Euro 2020. Service was appalling and complete disregard for customer experience. Tables booked over 6 weeks in advance apparently ‘disappeared’ and no real effort was taken to accommodate due to their mistakes. 4 staff on (1 behind bar) for such busy evenings was poor from a planning point of view and only made sure that the service could never even reach satisfactory levels. Will never choose to come back here again.

And the response I got was a joke. I get the feeling they dont want our business and we bring a lot here.

This bar is superb. The staff especially mehmet and the manager are so welcoming. This place is 100% on the covid safe zone.. Miss a visit at ur peril

Been there with friends and spent a good time! Staff is very friendly and the cocktails were amazing! Price is convenient and the place is spacious! Loved it.

Walked in to have a negroni to end an exhausting day capped off by the Tate and was surprised to be charged for it before the drink was even made. No matter. In making the drink, the bartender added a shot each of the gin and Campari, but then put the dregs of a Martini bottle - a half shot - into the glass. I asked if he’d run out of Martini. He said yes. I said that’s not enough to make the cocktail. He insisted it was the perfect amount while other customers looked on in amusement. He then spent some time elaborately mixing the cocktail like somehow the mystique of it would make up for the ineptness of his service. Seriously guys, if you’re going to lie to customers’ faces maybe just make a Moscow Mule and make it interesting. I write about food and drink for a living. Give your customers what they pay for. My fault though. I thought this was Jack’s Bar.

I was recently at EV BAR with my friends and colleagues and the service was extremely poor! I've never experienced anything like it! I was standing at the bar with my friend and the first time we waited for around 20 minutes to be served while other people near us were being served first! We'd been blatantly ignored. Let's just say the others around us were had fairer skin than so-So what does that suggest? When my friend finally caught the barman's attention he was both unpleasant and unfriendly. He told us we couldn't get discounted drinks as the time was up!! Totally untrue as we had at least a quarter of an hour until the offer ended. My friend showed him the time but he still refused us. As an alternative we were offered 'mojitos' which tasted disgusting quite frankly! We were served by the same bar staff later on. Again my trendy young brown friend had to ask to be served. I was charged for a drink that had no vodka in it. So my one of my young fair skinned friends, after tasting my drink,got another bar person to mix it correctly. This time containing the missing element- vodka. I've never felt so unwelcome by staff in that place before. The restaurant has never been a problem but I will never return to a bar where the prejudicial/racist treatment was so bloody obvious and being charged for drinks that were purposefully missing key ingredients. So,people if you want to be in a bar where the colour of your skin is an issue and they serve you cocktails with out the alcohol,then don't go to EV BAR. Nice decor shame about the the barman with zero social skills, zero manners and complete incompetence. Thank you!

It is perfect for watching football games. They have a huge screen. And staff really friendly. Also they have various of beer options and foods.

We went out of our way to go to this bar as it has a cool location. We ordered the fried meze and meatless meze. The fried meze was £9.95. I received about a £1 worth of food from what seemed to be from the frozen food section at Iceland. The chips were crispy but the onion and calamari rings were soggy. It came with a swirl of ketchup and mayo. I went up to the bar to ask for ketchup. I was told I’d get some in 2 minutes. I never got anything. Considering there was only 2 other tables with customers, the service was poor and unfriendly. We shall never return.

Always have a great time when going to the bar, the staff have always been accommodating and understanding, always feel comfortable in the establishment.
