Etzio never fails to warm the cockles of your heart. Outstanding food and service, you will go a long way to find anywhere as good. The Lobster pasta parcels are fabulous!

Have been going to Etzios for years, Jo and her team are superb hosts. We arrived as a table of six, with two babies, we were provided with a high chair and plenty of room for the pushchairs. The waitresses worked around us, taking care with hot plates and making sure everything was OK for us. Always enjoy our visits but felt everyone was very patient, as not easy to cope with two babies at one table, Thank-you.

Yet again another fabulous lunch at Etzios! No wonder I keep introducing family and friends to this little gem of a restaurant...it never fails to live up to being a lovely, lively little Italian, complete with fantastic food, supplied with such a warm atmosphere and friendly service. Jo and the girls always welcome everyone with a smile, and you always leave happy and satisfied, and very definately full!! 😁 The brown sugar merengue was very generous, and absolutely Delicious!! Closely followed by such a yummy white chocolate cheesecake 😁 The dessert photos make me want to order them again! Try Etzios, you will be glad you did.

Super food, with great service, always a warm welcome... We especially like the Risotto.

I’m not sure about silver plates or silver spoons in some people’s mouths but we had a fantastic meal in a very friendly and welcoming restaurant! Service excellent price excellent wine excellent what more can I say. Thanks it was a lovely experience and I will be back soon.

Once again we had another fantastic meal at Etzios, the staff, as well as the food, can’t be beaten locally, they are above the rest of the crowd, and that’s why we keep returning, time after time… and for the fantastic brown sugar meringues that I’m addicted to!! You can understand why people are always trying to book a table at Etzios, because its the best restaurant around the local area! Not only for the delicious meals.. (They always taste, and look, delightful!) But time and again its also the great atmosphere, warm welcome, good service, and fantastic value for money, and simply fantastic food that continue to impress us every time!! Easily our favourite restaurant, and consistently fabulous visits... Treat yourself and book a table, its well worth it!

First time here and must say it was worth the wait! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and a whole host of gluten free options, just make them aware before ordering! I was shocked at how much could be adapted to gluten free No pictures I was too busy enjoying my rissotto 😋

Just a fantastic overall experience. Late table of 2 on a Tuesday, warm welcome from everyone and continuous check ins through the evening. Wonderful food, fantastic portions at incredible value. Drove up from Telford to try and will be back asap. Thank you for your hospitality

We came in today for our tenth anniversary, spending a voucher that was purchased for us as a gift. We’ve been before, menu doesn’t seem to change and we really enjoy that. Decided to eat at lunchtime today and both picked something from the lunchtime deal menu, think two courses for £17.40 or thereabouts. Couldn’t fault the food or service, checked out what the table next door had ordered and their food looked equally as good. Keep up the good work Etzio, no wonder you’re always fully booked

Visited for lunch on a Thursday, restaurant full so glad I had made a reservation some weeks before. I was greeted at the door and about to be shown to a table when the greeter noticed I had mobility issues and was walking with a stick , she immediately placed me on a much more accessible convenient table. 4 separate menus including 2 lunch time ones and a chef specials one- the variety and choice is amazing and there are some great vegetarian options. A jug of chilled water, bread rolls and butter served and drinks order taken and delivered quickly. We both selected from the chefs specials for all 3 course- I had melon and parma ham followed by lobster ravioli in a prawn and cream sauce and ended with meringue and berries. Every mouthful was absolutely delicious, served by engaging, informative and professional servers. An excellent wine list at very good prices completed our meal. A number of.hopeful walkin diners were turned away as restaurant was full, reservation absolutely essential. This.is the 3 time I have dined at Etzio, and the 3rd time I have enjoyed a wonderful meal with outstanding service.

Fabulous Italian Restaurant. The food is amazing the service is always with a .smile and the atmosphere warm and inviting. A regular our ours and friends. We love to go for lunch and a walk around the quaint streets of Whitchurch. Highly recommended, but you need to book for lunch or dinner as rarely they have space for walk in guests.

Love this place! Atmosphere, food and staff all wonderful. The huge menu makes it's difficult to decide what to have. And at such a reasonable price too! Amazing place. You'll love it too!

They offer a very competitive two course lunch or pre theatre for £17.45 however we were tempted by the lobster ravioli and fritto misto specials- both excellent.Very popular restaurant and you must book quite in advance if you want a table. Tried to book again for the following day to no avail. I would be eating here once a week if those restaurants was on my doorstep.

Always great food and service .

Lovely food staff are lovely and I loved the miss matched decor However, and I am aware it is in an old possibly listed building but having to go through the bar area to the toilets is a bit of a squeeze when it's busy Food. We had the duck off the specials board I have never seen a half duck so big it was delicious though a bit difficult to cut as the knives were a little blunt. Seafood risotto was another hit on the table as was the salmon Caesar salad and Mediterranean salmon. Last meal was the Bolognese

Etzio is simply the best there is! Lunch today was sublime. The only issue is what to have! We have been working our way through the menu and every single dish has been delicious; you can taste the love. Today we 3 celebrated a special birthday and this is the place to do it …. we had Lobster parcels, Stroganoff Di Manzo and the Vitello al Dolcelatte😋😋😋Just saved enough room to share a pudding of Cannolo Siciliano all made by chef …. picture attached …. believe me it tasted every bit as good it looked! Etzio is not just about great food; it has a lovely atmosphere, relaxed and homely, the team could not be more welcoming and attentive. Thank you Jo and the whole team in Whitchurch.

Great food, lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere - all you have to do is bring good company. This is the second time we have introduced friends to Etzio in the last few months and they were all blown away. That's a great recommendation for any restaurant, if you know you can go any time and it will be brilliant. That kind of consistency takes hard work, and wow do Jo and Claudio and their team work at it! The menu is epic so it's hard to home in on favourites. For those who like classics try the pate starter and any of the pizzas or pasta dishes. The calzones are famous. Then there are the specials, mains and desserts especially, created at Etzio which are always interesting and tasty. Best advice if you've not been before, go with an open mind, an empty stomach, your reading glasses and some great friends.

I have dined at Etzio's on many occasions and enjoyed their varied excellent menu. The last time I was there the seafood risotto was the best I have ever tasted. Service was quick and nothing was too much trouble. I have recommended the restaurant to many of my friends. Well done and keep up the excellent work.

I’ve been coming here for 10 years and it’s our families favourite restaurant to go to. Jo is the host with the most, she’s hilarious, inviting and has the warmest personality. Claudio the chef is a true master at what he does, they are a dream team! Our favourite dishes are the Antipasto for starter and San remo for main, but everything is cooked with love and served with a smile. We always have a brilliant dinner here. Make sure you book well in advance is my tip!

Excellent…Not only do you get a warm greeting as soon as you walk through the doors, this continues right the way through your wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service is fabulous always with a smile, always informative and with staff who are prepared to go the extra mile to help in anyway they can with dietary restrictions or menu choices. You do need to book well in advance, which I always think is a very positive thing because it means it’s very popular!! We have yet to have a bad meal, we have had a wide selection of different menu choices on our many visits and we have never been disappointed yet. The variety of food available & the facility to have special dietary needs catered for with no fuss or worry is priceless. The atmosphere is very family oriented, it’s friendly & welcoming in typical Italian fashion. I cannot recommend highly enough, if I could give 6 stars I most certainly would.

Always such a treat to have a Saturday night booking at Etzio. We book months in advance and it’s always such a lovely evening when it comes around. Exceptional food, lovely staff who go above and beyond, great atmosphere, authentic Italian and so reasonably priced. We had the antipasti to start (pictured) which was delicious and the fettuccine alla sanremo for our mains. Amazing!

The food was excellent. The only criticism that I'd have was the way one the senior staff spoke to her younger team member. She was rude and arrogant, which made it a little uncomfortable to hear. She showed no respect.

After a glowing recommendation we visited Etzio yesterday to celebrate our son’s birthday. We booked for dinner but as we were an earlier booking we were able to take advantage of the fixed price 2 course menu which made for a lovely surprise! From the very warm welcome, fresh bread and oils whilst we waited for our starters to the indulgent desserts, everything was perfection!!! Wonderful friendly staff, ALL of the food was amazing! My lobster pasta parcels (on the specials menu) was outstandingly good!! Hands down the best meal out we have had in a very long time! The exceptional standards are reflected in the waiting list to get a table so we have already booked up return in July for our anniversary! Highly highly recommend this little gem of a place! For that special treat with outstanding food, friendly staff and a warm, cosy atmosphere, you will not be disappointed!

2nd visit here today, lovely welcome & the food was superb. Enjoyed everything, delicious & always leave full. Looking forward to returning in July with my friends from all over the country. So lucky to have this a few miles from home.

A regular here for a few years , Joe is such nice lady and staff are courteous and warm . Food is scrumptious . My advice to would be diners, book early … it’s so difficult to get a table due to its size and popularity .

We visited today (Wednesday) on a very wet and miserable day having not booked a table but hoping for the best. The staff were very warm and welcoming and managed to find us a table for lunch, which we were very grateful for as they were already busy. A great atmosphere and the food was authentic, tasty and served with a smile and personal touch. I wish I could eat here every day! Every single thing on the menu sounded delicious. A gem of a place.

It's one of my favourite places to eat. Need to book early, several months in advance usually. It's worth the wait - the food is fantastic, and I haven't had a bad dish yet! It can be a bit overwhelming with noise if there's a large party in as it's not a large place but still a fantastic place to eat.

This is our all time favourite Italian restaurant! The food was excellent as always (the Seabass was out of this world amazing) and the service is always great too. We were there for my birthday and there was a little surprise at the end of our meal... thank you guys. Can't wait to see you all again soon!

I love this place, so much so that I'm prepared to ring 2 or 3 months in advance to book a table. However, this evening I was left feeling really disappointed. We arrived 10 minutes before our booking time, simply because with the weather being so bad, roads waterlogged, we didn't want to be late! We were greeted by the owner in the doorway and then told "you're early, you'll have to wait until we've served those before you" as she turned to walk away, I said "could we sit at our table then" so we were shown to our table. It was such an awkward situation and really put a damper on our evening. The other staff were very friendly & attentive and the food excellent as always. I'm just left feeling really disappointed & a spoiled evening.

Visiting from Bournemouth and had the opportunity to have dinner with family at Etzio’s and oh! how I wish I could find such a place back home. The food was delicious, the carbonara divine and for dessert the chocolate truffle cake paired with orange and cointreau ice cream decadent and sublime . This was all wrapped up with excellent service from a warm and friendly staff matched by a lovely ambience. Thank you so much I can’t wait to find a reason to return.

There is no doubt this is an exceptional family run Italian restaurant with first class food on every occasion. The dining experience is very good and the food good value. The only aspect not fully 5 star is the exceptional long wait you can experience for food which can often be up to an hour. Most people don’t mind waiting for freshly cooked food, but up to an hour is a little excessive. I have experienced this and observed others who have had to check where their order is. Otherwise this is a full deserving five star experience.

Four of us visited Etzio for dinner last night. Amazing, authentic Italian cuisine. The atmosphere was so welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Whitchurch is so fortunate to have this excellent restaurant on Highstreet. Definitely worth visiting! Very inexpensive for the 5 star menu. Book in advance! We look forward to our next visit!

Traditional Italian food not hyped up to be a luxury dining experience as many Italians in our area try to be . Excellent menu choice , with incredible value combined with friendly efficient service from all the staff and owners not forgetting great tasting authentic dishes. We endorse previous reviews that this is the best Italian restaurant we have been to in the UK and we have some valid experience given we have been to Italy over 40 time in the last 25 years. Congratulations to all at Etzios.

Fantastic ! Two course lunch for four, a bottle of Merlot and a peroni all for £86. Food was probably the best Italian I’ve had for years.? Thankyou Etzio , we will soon be returning.

I always look forward to a meal at Etzio as the food is consistent and tasty, while the welcome from Jo is so friendly; my latest visit was no exception, chicken liver pate followed by breast of free range chicken cacciatore; the sauce was so delicious that I had to ask for a spoon to mop it up. It really is an exceptionally good restaurant and residents of Whitchurch are lucky to have it in their town.

I can honestly say from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nothing was too much trouble. We were here for a birthday celebration and a group of four. We unfortunalely arrived late for our booking but the staff were un-phased and welcoming. We chose from the lunch special menu and the portions were generous, freshly prepared and delicious. We also had desserts which were yummy and so much choice too. When I produced a birthday cake the staff were happy to bring plates and knife etc for us. The staff were lovely and the excellent food speaks for itself. My first visit but not my last!

Just wow from start to finish! Visited with my husband for my birthday at lunchtime. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time. The food, the team, the surroundings exceeded all expectation. We chose a pasta dish from the excellent value lunch menu which included a drink. The other menus offer an extensive choice. There is a reason you need to book! We would love to come back and bring family and friends despite being a 50 mile round trip

What an absolute delight and pleasure to be able to return to Etzio and find that absolutely nothing has altered, and why should it, it's just perfect as it is which is why you need to book well in advance. On walking in you are greeted by friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble, the atmosphere is always amazing with low background music with an Italian theme and this is before you get to devour their menu. We have worked our way through the menu over the years and everything has been absolute perfection so this time a little 'off-piste' and went for one of the the Chef Specials on offer, the Crayfish & Prawn starter and the Lobster Ravioli . Beautifully presented with a small salad of pea shoots & leaves, and some warm toast the starter was absolutely beautiful, the flavours mixed with the home made 'marie rose', just perfection. BUT the lobster, goodness me, I could have licked the plate with the wonderfully rounded sauce which when finished off with a little prosecco just gave it that extra 'pizzazz'. Oh, maybe I should mention my husband's pizza who commented that "It was most definitely the best he has ever had" and that's because their pizza's are done in the Rome Style, Light, crispy and once again with an amazing choice of toppings - definitely no soggy bottom pizza's here. Always an amazing experience and absolute pleasure to eat here, one for everyone's 'bucket list'. Well done once again to Jo, Claudio and the Team at Etzio.

I booked for my birthday because so many friends had told me it is impossible to get a table if you don't book prior, I understand why now because Etzio's the food was amazing! The atmosphere was just beautiful and so comfortable, staff helpful and easy to get on with. The reviews speak for themselves. “I have visited Italy many times before and the food at Etzio’s is even better.” If you really want to try somewhere extremely special and you want your tastebuds to fall in love with food again. Then this is the place to eat. I promise you; you will not be disappointed. I have been a loyal customer at Etzios for a good few years now and it just keeps getting better and better. The food is fresh, hot, tasty, and made beautifully. Homemade fresh pasta – YES PLEASE! The head chef and owner is Italian, and you can see when your dish is served, he puts his heart and soul into everything he does. The love and passion can be seen on every plate. You will leave feeling full, extremely satisfied, and happy. However my favourite part of Etzio’s is the female owner (do not want to mention her name due to Data protection). She is pure sunshine. When you meet her, she feels like a long-lost aunty, and you have just been invited to her home in Tuscany. You feel so relaxed and welcome once you enter those doors (Her hugs are amazing also). She is an incredibly special lady, and she makes the experience even more enjoyable. The staff are outstanding, and I know I will be a customer for many years to come.
