This was our favourite coffee shop. Sadly, the relaxing ambiance has been upset by the introduction of piped music. Completely unnecessary and annoying. I can just about hear the couple next to me complaining about the same thing. Did anyone ever complain that there wasn’t any music? I’ll bet not.Appropriate that the song playing as I leave is, “I’m leaving on a jet plane”.Don’t know when I’ll be back again.

Decaffeinated coffee with soy milk was very good. There is water provided for dogs . Lots of attention from passers by for the dog !

We stopped here for lunch today. It was nice weather and we decided to sit outside. I ordered 2 filled bagels, 2 slices of Victoria sponge and 2 filter coffees. The guy behind the counter was pleasant and efficient. I carried the cakes out and a waitress brought the coffees and then the bagels. The bagels tasted OK, nothing special, the quality was poor for almost £4 each. The Victoria sponge was stale. There's nothing else to say, it was stale! The coffee was good, no complaints at all.The coffee shop is in need of refurbishing, it's tired and looking tatty. The outside seating area has plenty of furniture but, again, it's tired and tatty. Went today 30.8.16 and was suitably impressed with the quick counter service, product selection and value for money. Medium tea and coffee and 2 cakes £7 , thats a great price to the 'coffee house chains'. Sat outside which was nice as not overpopulted with smokers, although a selection of tables to cater for this. The only small improvement that I could see ,was tables need clearing and cleaning faster, this would encourage the passing pedestrians to stop and take a break at Esquires.

Have been going to this Esquires since 2011 when daughter moved to Stockton Heath. We live in Widnes and are not in every day but often once a week. It's a small trek by car to get there but free parking for an hour and, more to the point, in my experience, the best coffee going. It puts other places to shame. Prices are reasonable. When we take my daughter's dog out for a walk we can go to Esquires without a problem and sit outside with the dog. Free doggy chews always go down well (with the dog) and there's a relaxing atmosphere especially in the covered area outside; in winter Mark the owner/manager will turn on the heaters outside. Free newspapers. Mark (and his staff) is good at remembering your favourite coffee variants. There's plenty of choice. Danish pastries very good value indeed. Costa are good but quality varies; Starbucks tends to favour bitter blend of coffee. This Esquires is the place to go when you want good coffee and relaxed effective and non-intrusive service. In a quiet moment I asked affably knowledgeable Mark about their chai latte; There can be queues (a good sign) but you never feel rushed. Next time I was in he offered me a free sample and not in an espresso cup either. Not won over from my various latte preferences but this is really superb service. I would and have taken family and the occasional friend there and have never been let down. An invariably good experience! An automatic door would be good when you are trying to get outside with a tray of hot drinks but that's all.

Stumbling around second hand shops has long time been a hobby of Mummy's. However she has now introduced this pastime to my little dolly, babbalicious Paul. My god they worked up a sweat rummaging through all the Stockton Heath cast offs... It was thirsty work so we stopped for a breather at the this coffee house. I ordered a spinach kale and pineapple smoothie- it was divine! Prompting me to buy me very own smoothie maker upon exiting the joint. My parter- Paula- ordered a latte... Well i was furious. The lady who prepared it, if i can call her that, swirled a freaking love heart into Paula's coffee mug... I was inches from jumping over the counter and showering her in chocolate powder from the shaker! We marched out immediately. If it wasn't for my tag i probably would have become violent and turned the place over- flirting like that under my snout. Anyway- the smoothie made up.... It went straight through me and truly kicked started my diet- I've lost inches already. No more Shirley Chums for me peeps. Laters xxxx

This is one of the must visit places in Warrington for when my wife and I pop up to see my mum. I admit that I am bias, as I used to pop in here every Saturday morning with my dad, before he passed away. But it was good enough even then for us to visit every Saturday for 2 hours, for coffee, cake and a chat.My wife and I popped over recently, and it brought a tear to my eye.The staff are super friendly and always happy to see you. They remembered me from years ago and even remembered my regular drink (Almond Milkshake! This drink is beyond words. If you like Marzipan, you'll love this drink to the point of obsession). They even knew/remembered how I liked it. I didn't even need to ask, they just smiled and said "Welcome back. The usual?"There really is no way I can fault Esquires. Brilliant pricing. Drinks are great, cakes even better, bathrooms always spotless, tables always clean, wonderful staff...and even better memories. This Esquires will always hold a special place in my heart, and in the years since I was last there, it has maintained it's excellent performance.I really can't recommend this place enough for a coffee and cake, and a place to build life long memories of spending time with someone you love.

Lovely staff very obliging, food and coffee hot, atmosphere very relaxed and no pressure on us to leave. When we left, the lady behind the counter told us she hoped to see us again. She certainly will!

A great place with an amazing choice of coffees and cold drinks too choose from. There is much more than coffee on offer, hot food cakes toasties and other things. Such a good meeting place to chill and watch the world go by, newspapers to read or use the wifi to fill your stay. Staff are very polite, and service is excellent. Great place to visit.

Popped here today at the end of the day. We didn't have coffee though as we had drank a lot of it in the day so we opted for a pot of tea for two. The tea pot was a great size but tea took a while to brew, maybe it was just us. Indoor and outdoor seating. The sun was shining so we sat outside. There were people sat drinking coffee with their dogs to which I think is great. Water for dogs available. Cakes looked great at the counter and coffee smelt nice. Next time I will have a coffee!

Esquires is my favourite spot for coffee in Stockton Heath. Mark runs a tight ship and it is reflected in how busy the place can get. Coffee is a very personal thing but Esquires' hits the spot for me. The filter coffee is good too but many people miss it completely. The food selection is a little limited being restricted to sandwiches/ panninis and the like but the cake and biscuit selection isn't bad at all.You can expect it to be busy around lunch time and after school. It gets especially busy during school holidays and can be a bit noisy then. But avoid the peak times if you want it a bit quieter and you can always get a seat and the staff will look after you.The seats outside are great and there is heating if it's cold - but you might have to ask Mark to switch it on!All of the local village life is here and if you take the time to talk to people and get to know them you will have a great visit......but don't get Mark talking about horse racing, or you will be there for a while!

Nice relaxing coffee shop on par with Costa. Friendly staff. Large patio area. Worth a visit if your shopping in Stockton Heath.

I recently had my first visit to Esquires coffee house only through Costa being so busy. I am so glad this was the case! The choice of coffee was excellent and the range of additional flavours much more vast than the other well known high street coffee shops. I opted for coconut in my latte after assistance from the staff, who were very approachable and friendly. The coffee was the best I have had! The choice of snacks was also very good and I opted for a toasted teacake. All were a good price. The shop was clean and with a nice atmosphere. I will definately be returning and would recommend this coffee house over the more well known high street shops to anyone.

Great coffee and a fabulous selction of teas - try the apple & mint, really refreshing. The cakes are very good too, I'm usually spoilt for choice. The only downside is it's way too crowded, with too many tables & chairs in too small a space. Ok if you're there when it's quieter, but at busy times it's not very relaxing.

We had the so called £7 Sunday Lunch. it was told to us that the kitchen was short staffed. So accepted the wait for food but didn't appreciate the cold meals and poorly cooked meat with hard vegetables. Didn't complain at the time as didn't want to spoil the family meal further. Was horrified when the bill arrived and the cost of 'extras' became clear. Cola £6, wine £9.50. what with desserts the meal came to over £140 for 4 of us. OK if you were receiving fine dining but a so called £7 Sunday lunch - just ridiculous. Might have been a bad day but will not be revisiting.

Very overpriced and under sized portions meant to be a cafe not a restaurant. 2.50 for a can of Fanta is ridiculous, had finished food when they brought missed item , chucked at us, no apology nothing, worst place in miles just about ripping off not providing quality or value

Best coffee & cake experience I’ve ever had wonderful selection of cakes (hazlenut & chocolate bun was to die for !! Cinnamon bun was a clise second !)

We were a large booking so I emailed Gin Alley to book a table. Danielle got back promptly and was very accommodating. Lovely venue for drinks - beers, Prosecco, cocktails. The place was busy with a good vibe. Bar staff were efficient, professional and friendly.
