Esquires Coffee in Central Bedfordshire

I visited at the weekend to see a friend, and I ordered the breakfast pancakes, at almost £9.50. The pancakes were tiny, and didn’t have a lot of maple syrup on. There was one piece of extremely thin bacon between one of the pancakes and one sausage - it was very disappointing for the amount charged. The coffee was nice, however they don’t bring it to the table so you have to go and get it from the counter. Personally, I won’t be returning - there are plenty of other nicer coffee shops around which are better value for money.

Lovely local coffee shop with great coffee and excellent food. Only downside is it can be a bit pricey. Otherwise it’s lovely and the owners are friendly and welcoming.

Amazing atmosphere, staff and absolutely delicious food. Highly highly recommend. Anwar and is staff were lovely and great place to get some work done!

Extremely RUDE old man serving coffee . I ordered a latte and espresso , he made the espresso and then I asked him could I have almond milk as I saw him using normal milk. He stopped and looked at me as if I has slapped him in the face and said well im going to charge you. and I need to sign for it. I said yea how much, oh 50p thats fine. He charged me the 50p, then he clearly had a problem with the fact that he assumed I drank cows milk and didn't ask me what milk I wanted as if I was trying to fool him or something. he said you should tell people when you have allergies , I said usually you ask people what milk they want I order coffee all the time, and he said if you had any intelligence you would have said. I said "intelligence? well you have your 50p for it so you should be happy?"...not sure why he was being so passive aggressive about his own assumptions that everyone drinks cows milk, as a barista you should know the menu you are serving! I nearly asked for a refund but I couldn't be bothered to interact with him further. It tasted like frothed almond milk and not much coffee. I will not be buying anything from here again. and I suggest you Avoid unless you want to interact with a moody old man with zero customer service skills!

I've been here so many times now as it's my local. I'm not sure why they don't fill the cups up but when they charge so much for coffee and I go to take a sup of my takeaway in the car and it's less than half full I'm mortified. Really today was the last straw and I won't be going again.. Fill your cups up for goodness sake you scammers. I want a latte not an espresso

The coffee was good and so was the food but we had ordered an eggs Benedict and instead of ham, we asked for bacon. Normally you would have expected this to be a straight swop but not here. Here that means we’ll charge you full price even though we’re not providing all the meal consisted and then we’ll charge you extra for the bacon. To add further insult, we’d also ordered a BLT without the bacon so they’d made a bit out of us charging for something we’d already paid for. Was it an error by the server; Oscar or was it how they work. Either way , it was wrong. I should have checked the bill and queried it but didn’t feel I needed to….. I did.
