Stumbled across this great little place while wandering around Bournemouth. Coffee was top class. We also had a bagel each and cake. The bagels were generously filled, I had the vegan one with houmous, sun dried tomato and olive. Not a filling I would have chosen but worked really well. The almond croissant was the best I have ever had. There was marzipan inside and topping it. Best of all it wasn’t particularly expensive. Definitely no more than the inferior chains nearby. If you love your coffee, worth a visit. Theres a few seats downstairs and more upstairs.

Quirky, individual, good service, charming little coffee shop, at the top of Commercial Road, near KFC and the Triangle area of town. Well if you ask for a regular size, no problem. Large product is a different story with a gibberish explanation as to why. In other place asking for a large coffee regardless of the size makes no difference -here it does! It is a different drink with just greater amount of milk not coffee making your beverage milky variation of the standard size. Also seller proud and arrogant with explanation not willing to help. In other coffee shops (nero, costa, starbucks) in Bournemouth baristas are more experienced? and flexible. Went on 19/12 around 3 pm. Place not busy.

Went here for the first time upon recommendation of a friend. Walked in and we were expected to order promptly. I ordered a white Americano, advertised as ‘Americano with milk.’ We were encouraged to pay promptly. We went upstairs, and the drinks were brought up quite promptly too, though my Americano was black and no milk brought. The waitress rushed off before I could mention anything so I had to call her back. I asked for my milk and was asked by the waitress oh do you want milk? I said yes, that’s what I ordered. This was brought promptly too. There was no choice of hot or cold, but I was just glad to get what I ordered.

My friend had been going through a tough week. We were at another cafe, but it was too noisy. So we came here. We've been here before and had no complaints about the service. My friend had many things too attend to including a phone call from a worried mother. While she was taking the call, one of the baristas came upstairs and pressed us to order. She was rude and seemed ignorant of the customers' needs. When the drinks came up, she pressed us immediately to pay. Right there at the table. The music was loud, so she went outside to take the call. The barista took this quite badly and left - clearly offended. I was working on a project, but it was impossible to work due to the chatter I could hear downstairs. The barista was talking about my friend behind her back. I went to the counter and asked if there was a problem. She accused my friend of being impolite and failing to say thank you. I tried to explain that my friend had been having a tough week and to have some empathy. She instead chose to go on about how we should have gone to Starbucks and how offended she was about her walking out like that. But the fact was, she was in a call. She seemed to accept this, but when I returned upstairs - all I could hear was a return to the talking behind her back. Nothing had been resolved. My friend felt humiliated. Everyone was staring at her when she left due to the lies of barista. She did not understand her situation. And my friend wasn't in the mood to be talking with people.

My carrot cake was absolutely delicious and I loved the presentation: it was served on a beautiful plate with lovely cutlery. The shop itself is quirky, cosy and full of character inside and out. Visually delicious (all those vintage images on the walls), - it's no wonder why its so popular with the local hipster crowds (actors, graphic designers, art student and other creative bohemian types). The staff always give you warm welcome when you arrive and provide quick and friendly service. I love my coffee and this place is reasonable (better than the big chains nearby) but not as good as I was hoping. The house blend lacked interest and whilst it was decent enough, I wouldn't rush back for more.

Don't know what's wrong with the people that work in this cafe. They have some strange attitude towards some customer like myself even though I visit this place on a regular basis. Coffees are nice but don't take a seat as it is very small and when you are sitting down more than 30 minutes YOU MIGHT GET KICKED OUT

About to go into Starbucks and noticed Espresso Kitchen. Checked out TA reviews and gave it a try. I had a flat white and carrot cake. My daughter had thick hot chocolate. The coffee was excellent. Really nice flavour. The carrot cake was superb. The thick hot chocolate was really good and my daughter ate eat slowly with a spoon! Very friendly staff and although it's small there is a upstairs. It's a cosy place and clearly has established a lot of regulars.

Lovely coffee and delicious cakes. If you haven't been here seen February there is now a funky little seating area upstairs. Owner makes an effort to welcome children which I think says alot

Simply the best coffee shop in Westbourne. Serving local Bad Hand and some epic guest coffees. They also do great island bowls!

Great service and superb selection of wines. Worth going for the knowledge of the wines from Malo and complimented by an excellent meat platter

Extremely friendly staff, well cooked food particularly the breakfasts are a delight. An asset to the Winton shopping experience and community in general
