Ephesus in Crawley

The best Turkish food in Crawley. Tried a few but been going weekly for 1.5 years now and never had a bad meal. Service is excellent and menu value for money.

Absolutely outstanding!! We arrived, they seated us straight away. The menu is so tasty, we had trouble deciding, the staff were so helpful, took time to listen to our thoughts and recommended a suitable dish. The food arrived hot and placed beautifully on the plates. There was no rush and the whole evening was very enjoyable. Outstanding food and outstanding service !!!

Came with my family, lovely Turkish food. I had the Halloumi and Falafel both delicious , you can bring your own Alcohol as well. Great service too

I use to rave and eat food here at least once every two week and have been eating and recommending to a lot of people but that last two times I’ve been it seems that not they charge extra for more salad and more bread but never use to before, the portion have decreased and the price has increased. The meat has got smaller especially the chops, and ribs… hardly any meat on it… mainly bone. Think my last visit was the last visit. Shame.

Visited here for New Years with a big party. Very good food & service. Good value for money. I love the BYOB option. Would definately recommend.

we discovered the Ephesus last month and came back today because of the quality of food. The mixed kebab is soooo good.

First visit. Party of three. Ordered as follows: (1) chicken/lamb shish, (2)chicken shish/kofte. (3) yoghurt Adana kebab. The first two came with rice, bread and salad. The yoghurt Adana kebab comes with nothing. The waitress should have suggested rice as a side. I would also have preferred her to be wearing a mask in the current circumstances. Food was delicious, as it should be at London prices of £15 per dish. Probably the best restaurant in Crawley. This place has been very busy during ‘eat out to help out’. I can’t help wondering if the prices have been jacked up as a result. The menu prices are approx 35% more per item than on the board.

Not good if you have a food allergy. A member of my family had a food allergy was told on the phone that the food we've ordered is gluten free then found out few months later that the rice has barley in it, her crohn's disease has flared up a few weeks ago and hasnt been well . There staff ned to be educated on food allergies.

Although this restaurant is closed to diners they have decided to open for a few evenings for food collection. As a regular diner I am all for supporting small local businesses. The food was just as good as it is dining in and Recep the manager gave me an NHS discount too. A small Turkish restaurant where your food is cooked by bar b cue to order. All the staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming, my wife and I eaten there at least once or twice a week for several years and have not had one bad meal, another plus is that you can take your own alcohol which keeps the cost down, it’s always busy with take-aways, and booking is recommended for Thursday through to Sunday. The food is traditional Turkish fare and there is an endless supply of flat bread and salad with dips if you wish. Go along and speak to Anastasia or the rest of the crew, you will not be disappointed.

Food just as good as it was when it first opened The special for two people for £25 is such a bargain everything is cooked perfect tender full of flavour you can’t go wrong

The food is amazing here. Beautifully prepared and wonderfully seasoned food. Can't believe I have worked locally for 5 years and not discovered this gem of a find. Sharing platter great value 1 of each skewers rice salad bread and food ..every mouthful was tasty..we will be back again this week. Fabulous staff , friendly and amazing chef. Well done X X x

No nonsense Turkish restaurant and takeaway offering great quality grub and flawless service. No doner meat here, just great quality chicken, lamb and kofte, all served with excellent fresh salad and chips. Highly recommended if you love great Turkish meals!

I went here with my family and it was a lovely atmosphere, there was a live piano being played which was entertaining. The food was 10/10, I ordered 2 of the Ephesus Platters costing £30 each and it was the most amazing thing I have ever eaten! The meat was fresh and the wings were barbecue grilled with such a amazing taste!Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

The Waiter Yusuf was very polite and helpful to my nephews dietary requirements and even gave us a free drink after my son spilled his, the food is lovely and was cooked to perfection and will definitely come back

Love love love it here! Always accommodating. Good service. The food is so delicious with lots of fresh flavours. The chilli sauce is like nothing I have ever tried elsewhere. So beautiful. Well priced food. One of my favourite places in Crawley.

A family get together with over 20 of us! Great evening! The food here is really, really good! Service is great. If you are expecting plush, then this is not the place for you, its a takeaway too. The menu is vast, the food is cooked as you see it. A top tip - bring your own alcohol, they don't hold a license. Great value for money too. I can highly recommend the Ephesus Restaurant Special - sharing platter of various grilled meats. More than plenty for two people. I had a special chicken dish with yogurt and spices, can't remember what is called but its amazing - chicken wrapped in pitta on yogurt and a spicy chilli sauce - will defo be having that again.

I had not been to this restaurant for a long time but six of us decided to go. Why did we wait so long? The meal and service were excellent. The only drawback was the noisy group next to us.

Had a couple of take away and buy authentic, very tasty and fresh. Salad and rice were really good and the meat was perfect. Cooked over chaemecial.adds so much to the flavour. Can't fault it at all. I've had sit in as well. Been to Turkey a few times and tastes as if you are really there. Well.done.

The food in Ephesus is outstanding excellent Turkish cusine of chicken and lamb cooked on the grill. staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant in North gate is more disabled friendly. Tilgate is accessible by local bus or car they don't have a alcohol license but you can take your own in and they will provide you with glasses soft drinks must be purchased from them

Booked Ephesus tonight for a party of 15. Staff very welcoming on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. All 15 meals arrived hot & together & we didn’t have to wait long at all. Food was amazing & the staff were so friendly & helpful. Would definitely recommend this restaurant & will certainly be going back. 5 star all round !!

Saw this restraunt on trip advisor with really good reviews . Decided to go here as we were spending the night in Crawley before our flight tomorrow . What a lovely find . The food was so tasty and good portions . Very friendly place . Make sure you take alcohol with you though there is a shop next door as this place only does soft drinks

Small unassuming restaurant in a strip mall gave me the immediate thought that this would be akin to a sit-down kabab shop. Boy was I wrong! The food was exquisite. The environment cosy. The service impeccable. I can’t wait to come back and try every dish!

Organised Christmas party in the restaurant went very well. Was a great experience with very welcoming staff and a delicious turkish cuisine. Absolutely lovely and definitely will visit again.

My family and I come here all the time and always receive great quality food and outstanding service every time without fail. They don’t serve alcohol but you can pop over to the shop a couple doors down and buy some and bring it into the restaurant. Tasty Greek salad and defo order the calamari and halloumi for starters! We’re always a big group and get 2 sharing platters which includes a large serving of rice and loads of yummy chicken and lamb which is enough to fill us all up and even take some home with us! (Lamb chops are to die for!) I would recommend this place to anybody looking for friendly staff and a great atmosphere. They’ve never let us down. ☺️

My boyfriend and I stopped by Epheseus due to the good reviews, and were glad we did! We shared the Epheseus Special - very tasty mix of meats (lamb chops, lamb ribs, lamb shish, chicken wings, chicken shish and adana koffe), rice, salad, warm flatbreads and two sauces. The lamb shish was particularly tasty. We will definitely go back if we’re passing by again!

Amazing food and relaxed ambiance. Had mix kebabs and falafels. The meat was tender and juicy and falafel crispy. Chilli sauce was fresh and tasty. Will highly recommend for no grill tasty food

My wife and I picked up a takeaway chicken Kebab with rice and salad, wow ! Best ever , when we are in the area we shall book a table .

we were on the train coming back from Croydon, trying to decide where to go for dinner. I phoned a friend and asked him what Ephesus was like, he said thumbs up and his other friends said 10 out of 10 and you must go.

This restaurant is fabulous. It does what it says on the can. Nothing fancy in decor, it's a great take away and sit down Turkish kebab restaurant serving great, freshly prepared food. Humous to die for, the special sharing dish is great. Chicken Princess, koftas and the rice is amazing. Very good value.

Went with friends for dinner - quite busy. Atmosphere - like a café. Very hot day air conditioning not on - open plan kitchen with more heat coming from the barbecue pit. Staff very friendly and helpful - prices average - food not too bad. Starter platter not worth it and nothing special for the price. You can bring your own alcohol for no extra charge. House platter for two was quite tasty and could actually feed three if you're not big eaters.

Having been to this restaurant before - I chose it as I loved the food and we could walk there.

Simple and plain delicious Barbecued food served by friendly staff. What more can you ask for? The meats are perfectly cooked and presented.

We chose this restaurant tonight for a meal with friends. Nice décor friendly staff but very noisy even though not full. Tight eating areas.

This place says it closes at 11pm, and we arrived before 10. We were shown to a seat, given a menu and then told the kitchen was closing soon so they needed the order quickly. So we rushed to pick something, and a few minutes later, another person comes to tell us that what we ordered would take too long. So we just had to leave as we couldn't really get anything to eat, despite arriving over an hour before closing. Never been given such restrictions anywhere else.

We visited Ephesus for my Husbands Birthday in January 2018. The whole group enjoyed the meal however I was a little disappointed with their vegetarian options however their rice & green leaf salad are yummy. Quick service, reasonable prices.

What used to be a total dive has been re-vamped into a trendy, busy and fast paced Turkish restaurant.

Went for the mixed meze and Ephesus Special for two for main. Amazing flavours and best Turkish food we have had since visiting Istanbul. Would recommend without hesitation.

Its been 15 years since I last had Turkish, my friend suggested Lamb Chops, they were delicious, top it up with some Baklava at the end!

Have visited a couple of time and have been very impressed with the quality and quantity of food on offer. The "special" of mixed lamb and chicken is huge and very well flavoured. The accompanying salad was fresh and well dressed.

This is becoming one of my favourite places to eat. We usually have takeaway as a family but this was a girls' night out. The four of us were very impressed with the quality of the food and by the presentation. The waiting staff were very good especially the waiter who took our order without writing it down . Hopefully the new branch in northgate is just as good.

Excelente comida y servicio en Éfeso me Northgate anoche. Tenía el frío y caliente mezclado entrantes meze, estaban muy bien.

Personal muy amable, la comida excelente, no es un establecimiento autorizado, pero las tiendas locales venden bebida muy barato que puede llevar en recomiendo encarecidamente las costillas de cordero

La comida aquí es delicioso! Tuvimos un arranque mezclado con ensalada y salsas y era preciosa. La carne en nuestros platos principales era tan tierna y muy bien preparadas. Teníamos arroz y ensalada y pan caliente. Todo estaba muy bueno y sin duda volveremos. No sirven alcohol, pero te puedes pasar al lado y comprar una botella para beber con tu comida. En general nos lo pasamos una velada encantadora con una comida deliciosa servida por un personal amable. Altamente recomendado!

The food is really good here staff and service is spot on too! atmosphere is always lively and busy in there, sometimes feels little small in there. value for food is great and also can bring your own alcohol. big thumbs up.

What an absolute transformation from a pub! Managed to get a table at 7pm on Saturday evening, very busy in there! But there were plenty of staff around so didn't have to wait long to put our orders in. We had a mixture of meals and both the chicken and the lamb was so tender it almost felt like it melted in your mouth! Beautiful! Didn't get rushed to leave our table even though it was busy. Will recommend to others and will definately come back again! Decor is really nicely done out as well. Very friendly and welcoming in there. They also do a take away menu. My friend was impressed that the do Tuborg beer and Effs which is what he always drinks when he goes to Turkey.

Firstly, my experiences in this restaurant are not as good as when you order a takeaway. I may add that they hurry you quite a lot and the staff are not particularly friendly and welcoming. However, as a takeaway, the food is sublime. Regular customer and I can highly recommend the chicken shish/lamb kofta combination. Never had a bad meal there (maybe send your managers and staff on a customer services course to improve in the experience in the restaurant!).

Well worth a visit. Bring you own booze as not licensed. Plenty of selection from local shops stocking cold beer and wine etc.

Recently me and my husband went to Ephesus for a quiet meal, and it was absolutely brilliant. When we came in we were served immediately from a well dressed waiter, and as you can bring youre on alcoholic drinks we went next door to get a bottle of wine and were given glasses without no charge!! There was no rush at all, the menu is terrific with a large choice of food which all sounded extremely appetising. Me and my husband decided to go for the mix hot meze and the Ephesus special, they both came warm and came with bread, salad and sauce to accompany. The taste were amazing brilliant chefs! Overall the service by a young 18 year old girl was lovely, very charismatic and was looked after very well. It was busy but we were both looked after, both the waiters were working very hard and looked as they were both in sync with each other they knew exactly who needed who. We were so enticed by the delicious stater and main we were offered the desert menu and we shared a heavenly baklava which came very swift. Both the fantastic service and the food combined, made a fantastic meal. We can't wait to come back next month with the rest of my family to show what a brilliant local family business is.

This was a quick visit with some friends who had recently discovered the restaurant not far from where they live. It's a basic place with simple, honest decor, and friendly staff. They don't serve alcohol but you can take your own and they will help with glasses and openers. We had a mixed starter, which was excellent; very fresh and well cooked, served with good bread and dips. Between us we had a selection of chicken, lamb and kofte dishes, which were all very good, and served with a really fresh and tasty salad. A definite recommendation, and I am looking forward to a repeat visit.

Food was good, service ...they were rushed off their feet and kept forgetting things.If you go at a quiet time it might be alright but it was after one and the restaurant was full, too many delays on food and little things missing. We went as a family of 9 including a 4 year old and 6 year old. I ordered kids nugget meal for my 4 year old because that's all she wanted to eat- the kids meal arrived after all the starters and main were almost finished. She sat there and ate bread because they kept saying the kids meal ( chicken nuggets) was on it's way. As a mother I didn't enjoy my food and was very upset, by the time they arrived she didn't want them because she was hungry and ate plain bread while she was waiting.My girls love eating out at restaurants and I've never had a child's food come last especially if it's something as simple as nuggets Unless they improve and add a little common sense to their service, I won't be going back.

We visited this evening as a treat for our Daughter. The welcome was warm and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The food was absolutely marvellous and there was plenty of it. The bill was very reasonable and I would not hesitate to recommend Ephesus to anyone. Brilliant!

Fairly basis inside but clean and modern. Very friendly welcome and service. Place was full mid week which proves its popularity. The food is just delicious. Nicely presented, beautifully cooked meats on the barbecue. Could not fault it. Because you bring your own booze the bill was cheap and you don't end up paying your share of those drinking!! Win Win. Definitely recommend this place. Will be back.

Probably the best Turkish food I have ever eaten by far.. The quality was there and the fresh salad was so fresh and crunchy..I came here with a friend and we ordered a few things.. I originally thought it was a Greek restaurant.. I don't quite remember the staff or service I think that fact that the food was so good made me completely oblivious.. sorry guys im sure you were great..Thanks

I went to Ephesus off the back of some great reviews on here. I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't totally mind-blown either. I had bread and Olives to start which were nice, the bread nice and warm. I then had the mixed Kebab's were very nice, with a side of rice. I took my own beer so was surprised when my bill came that it was over £20. Personally I think the service and food were great, just that it didn't feel like good value for money, especially as I'd brought my own drink. Worth a try though if you're in Crawley looking for somewhere a little different.

After eating a kebab from here, I am now ruined.I'll never want to eat one from anywhere else, they just don't begin to compare.

This is a great Turkish restaurant, food is cooked to order over charcoal, well priced, good portions, great staff. Not licenced so you can take your own alcohol.

The disappointment is their portions. I first heard about the restaurant from a colleague who pretty much described it as loads and loads of food, little money but that turned out to be the one thing that wasn't true. Not in my friend and I's experience anyway. It's quite expensive and not enough food so you might leave hungryish. I'm not saying anything bad about service, food, atmosphere or staff because they were all good. Would I go back? They need to work on what I said.

The mixed grill was excellent, the rice is great and the staff are friendly. It's the best Turkish cuisine I've experienced and they have a good range of dishes.

This is a favourite of mine. The food is fabulous, beautifully cooked with salad and bread brought to the table.The staff very accommodating. I love the fact you can take your own alcohol, only paying for soft drinks. Can get extremely busy, but walk-in dining mid week is usually ok.

As the title says, the best place to eat in/out Crawley.I've been there several times and I have never been unsatisfied. Order the Ephesus special. It comes with bread, rice and a lot of meat. All for cheap. The service is good and friendly. You need to bring your own bottle as they do not serve alcohol. The food could be a little less salty though.Better book in advance during the weekend as it is most of the time full.

If you are looking for authentic Turkish food of a good quality and reasonable price, then look no further than Ephesus on Tilgate Parade. Every time I have eaten there, the staff have been warm, friendly and very helpful. As for the food, I have pretty much done the whole menu now and although I have my favourites (e.g. the 'Special', chicken shish and lamb Adana combo) I've not had a below par meal from them yet. And let's not forget to mention the lovely and fresh salads that accompany the meals, particularly with their pomegranate dressing.Ephesus do not have a licenced bar, but have addressed this 'shortfall' by allowing the diners to bring their own favourite and more reasonably priced bottles of alcohol and do not charge for glass or corkage.All-in-all, Ephesus is undoubtedly my favourite restaurant in Crawley.

Me and my wife went to have a meal here last Friday, the food was delicious and we were well looked after even though it was very busy, you can bring you're own alcohol so cheap night out! We had three starters and a chicken shish and Adana kofte with baklava and rice pudding, yum!! We were served by roughly 18 year old girl with brown her who served us wonderfully even though was very busy , can't wait to come back and again as we were looked after so well, delicious food and very good staff

And all the better for it!It's really reasonable to eat in & on a hot summers evening you can almost imagine you're in the Mediterranean.Their kofte kebabs are lovely, first time I'd had a kofte, I always have shish normally. I tried a kofte somewhere else after as I thought I know I like them now. It wasn't like efesus....Best kebab shop I've ever been to in the U.K.

We were in crawley for the day, first timw visiting and we ordered the special, the meat was seasoned perfectly, soft and succulent. Really enjoyed the meal and would recommend.

this is a GEM! we were told by friends about this, so i booked for 18 of us early evening on a sunday for hubbies birthday, we took our own booze, we was served promptly by a very lovely young man who was very observant in knowing when we ready, we had starters, as you would expect from a turkish menu, lush warm bread and humous..mmmm our mains were amazing, the salad is to die for and the rise is soo tasty!!!! Its all so good not one complaint infact we all raved how lovely it was! I would only say one thing, maybe a bit of a makeover..mood lighting..candles...bit of music....be fab on a night out!! Cant wait to go again!! oh and the price??? bloody brilliant for what you get!!

decided to try this place after it was recommended by a friend. We ordered the special for 2 people and the kids had a combination to share. 30 min wait for the food so we had a beer across the road. It was worth the wait. The food was amazing. A real taste of Turkish food. We are looking to go back to eat in next time.

This is a great Turkish restaurant with good quality food. Everytime we've been (since it opened in Tilgate) it's been fantastic. No alcohol is served but you may bring your own. Very friendly staff and very accommodating of kids. Would recommend the fish (served on the bone) or the chicken/lamb shish kebabs. Most meat dished are cooked freshly over coals in the open kitchen.

Well. ive lived in crawley forever! always pass tilgate shops never even knew this was here!! From the outside it looks like a normal takeaway.....but go in...tables and chairs...the cooking area..all the grub on display..we sat down...take your own booze to!! they give you glasses..you can purchase soft drinks...the menu is so good and cheap!! you feel like your on ya holidays well until you look out at the parade lol Food is fresh...staff are friendly....fast service...was very busy prob as footy was on that night....so was packed.....will definitely be returning!!

Get a take away from here quite often there have been a few times were they have got the order wrong and no apology is given but the food has always been good that's why we go back haven't eaten in for a long time reasonable prices

Ok - if you are looking for a romantic ambiance, or swish surroundings forget it just sometimes it is all about the food.Having been on a low carb diet food was a dilemma so fresh from planning a little surprise trip to the Greek islands I thought i would go Greek for the evening, as a self-confessed snob i immediately feared that the restaurant looked more kebab shop meets local cafe from the exterior but the bbq smells from within sealed the deal and we were not disappointed.***Bring your own alcohol, as we were not drinking there was a little clue when we were brought a can of coke and bottled water (with glasses, come on we're not peasants!)and we had been pleasantly surprised at not having a wine list shoved at us. The menu was large and varied but healthy and suitable for both vegetarians and carnivores alike, as i have been on a low card, high protein diet it was ideal and they also had good fish options which is for our next visit - we had a shared mezze starter which includes Calamari; Falafel, Griled Halloumi and other Greek starters along with a greek salad and the most gorgeous pitta basket. if you are a newbie to greek food (memories of drunken kebabs not included...) this is a brill intro. our mains consisted of a Shared mixed kebab platter which is brought out with a huge pile of Shish Kebab; Chicken Wings; Lamb cutlets & (forgive my spelling*) Annan* this was on top of the best tasting rice i have ever had - no desserts in fact we were so stuffed we did not even look at the menu again, but if the desserts are as fantastic as the rest of the feast get a doggy bag and indulge. The portions are so plentiful every single table asked for a doggy bag take home. The staff and atmosphere are casual, the atmosphere chilled, the prices are fabulous and (the byo alcohol rule means you know what to expect and budget conscious diners are happy too). I can see this becoming my alternative 'healthy' take out and a regular haunt if you are going out with mates, or want a BBQ without the weather or mess eat here.
