Enoteca Di Luca in City of London, Westminster

Wish I would have read the reviews before I wasted my money. Was here before for lunch in the fall 2023 and the food was actually good. Think I had chicken milanese. Came here on Friday and the food lacked flavour. Bill for 1 drink, 1 entree and a bread basket was £45 with tip and VAT. Meal was totally forgettable and very disappointing. Much better options in the area.

Nice place with tasty food. It's pricey tho. Ate there twice. The second time, service was rushed probably because we came 20min to close of business which is understandable but I wished they made it less obvious and also food was a bit salty. All the same excellent place for good Italian meals

Truthfully, I think this place is overpriced. The food was okay, not exceptional & the place lacked atmosphere. I don't like it when an establishment includes a service charge; I prefer to determine myself whether the service merits a tip. This place served a purpose for us as a convenient place to meet with friends, but is not somewhere I would rush back to.

Had a great time in there! Staff is attentive and knowledgeable, blond girl Martha gave us a nice recommendation for rose wine and in general took a good care of our table.

Wonderful food, highly recommend the lemon and sausage pasta with broccoli.

Accoglienza calorosa, locale carino e ben curato... cucina a Vista, il menù non ha una grandissima scelta ma I piatti sono buoni e ben serviti. Great food and ambiance, friendly staff. The pizza is quite good, so is the ravioli and tomato bruschetta.

Nice atmosphere and starters, but the truffle pasta was very disappointing and had no flavour despite the generous helping of truffle. The plate was covered in a thick layer of melted butter - after I had finished eating the pasta, there was still at least 3 tablespoons of butter on the plate which made the course unpleasant.

As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed. The menu offers several options and everything was very good, especially the porchetta and the ravioli. I liked the wine list too, elaborate and with a variety of choices. In short, very nice location with a welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very kind, attentive to details and friendly, especially Valentina. I recommend it!

The place looks great and has a good wine selection. However, nobody greeted us as we came in and we had to ask somebody if they were open. Quality the food is okay but not amazing for the price. The way to service is very attentive. I ordered an Apperal spritz and found it to be very weak.

The pasta was actually quite fresh, taste was soso… it’s the cold welcome that will actually prevent me from coming back, especially the women Edit: people have been complaining about the service here for years and they still are getting it wrong. Also noticing some responses from the owner to upset customers that is just completely unacceptable! Changing my review to a 2 stars rather than 3 Edit: so now what the owner does is to reply reviews completely dismissing their experience. Just 2 months ago, someone gave a low star rating for ‘lazy staff’ and if you want to see whereby people have complained in their reviews and the owner has replied rudely or even completely dismissed their review, just start from the lowest ratings first and read... Now changing to a 1 star

Molto bene! This is a wonderful and popular Italian restaurant with a friendly and attentive squadra! 👏🏻 Despite being in the City, it feels like a nice relief from the hustle and bustle. There is the indoors area, then a covered terrace, then the terrace itself, so many options. The food is very tasty, absolutely loved the sea bream paccheri pasta, divine! The carbonara also looked amazing as well as the truffle pasta 🍝😋 Highly recommended by Italian friends and colleagues and note that they have other branches as welln

Great wine list, lunch quality was mediocre. It’s in a great location where you can enjoy your meal outside on the patio, however I think next time I’ll come for wine and nibbles rather than the full meal.

My favourite place in the city for a drink outside. The vibe is good and the food and drinks are of great quality. The only downside is that the service can be rather slow. But I can overlook that as they are usually very nice once they get to you and it’s a lovely spot.

Amazing place, can't lie best place in London. Got served by an amazing waitress who was soo friendly and helpful she made my day because she was so helpful and made sure everything went well for us. I forgot her name I think it starts with M. Definitely will be coming back here again due to the amazing service she provided.

Enjoyable culinary experience. Delightfully presented and flavourful starters followed by substantial and tasty pizzas. Eclectic wine collection, ranging from fine vintages to highly quaffable and reasonably priced Italian regional options. Service was welcoming and cheerful, albeit sluggish at times.

The food was average but I’m giving a bad rating because the toilet was absolutely horrendous. It’s shameful for any human being to go in there. Absolutely disgusting. And the prices were too expensive for the tiny portions

Enoteca used to be our regular date night spot. We visited them on their reopening and was left disapointed. It took 55 minutes to take our order, and even then I had to go up and ask for someone to come to the table. The cheese sharing board was more frugal than I care to remember pre-covid. We then had another 50 minute wait between our starter and main course (at this point we were close to walking out, being both cold and hungry). The food is tasty, and it does have the right level of 'buzz', but the service was non existant last night. Noone came to ask whether we needed more drinks, took our order willingly, or asked if our meal was to our liking. And to have a service charge on the bill just added insult to injury.

The service was very slow and although the starters were nice, the clams pasta tasted of sick. The worse part was about the heating: the website clarifies you get heatings in the terrace (the reason why we booked there) but the heaters are just in an area of the terrace, quite far from the other tables. We literally ordered our second round of drinks after the starters just to get them when we were ready to go. Also I got served my mains without cutlery. The bill was quite expensive for the experience we had and we payed service charge cause we felt bad for them having to be closed for months, but definitely not recommended.

Really like this place, amazing wine selection, great pizza, friendly staff...perfect venue in town for a long awaited catch up with mates. Highly recommend.

Booked this for a long awaited meet up with friends because they had a really nice looking outdoor seating area and will definitely be returning. Everything exceeded our expectations, friendly staff, good wine and all the food was absolutely delicious. We shared lots of dishes and the burrata, porchetta and the wild boar tagliatelle were the winners

Delicious Pizza with a proper crispy base was washed down with excellent value Vino. Great service and Ambiance all made for a great evening

I love this place! Its friendly, its the right amount of buzzy and the food is what you get in Italy. Simple, fresh and super tasty. I have to say the pizza's are some of the best i've had in London. And the wine list is unexpectedly comprehensive and excellent value. I went for a chianti classico which was lovely but i will be a bit more adventurous next time!

Heard some racist language being spoken in the place, the waiters barely spoke any English besides one young waitress who was very helpful. Considering the money I spent eating there, you would think the service would be average. I would highly recommend not going there. If I could rate this place any lower I would, but unfortunately 1 start is the lowest is the lowest i can give this is based on the service not the food.

Been coming here for a number of year but food was very average and service was slow. Definitely standard have declined in this branch which is a shame.

Good Italian food in the heart of the city, a stone's throw from Liverpool Street station in the charming Devonshire square. Popular with city workers for lunches and dinner. I've always found the service to be friendly and efficient and have now been here for both work lunches and dinner with friends.

El servicio fue un poco lento, especialmente dado lo tranquilo que era el restaurante (de ahí las 4 estrellas en lugar de las 5), aunque no teníamos prisa, no afectó demasiado nuestra noche.La comida era deliciosa, cada uno de nosotros tenía un plato de pasta y tuve la lasaña, que era muy abundante y muy sabrosa. Todos disfrutamos mucho nuestra comida y volvería por ella!El ambiente en el restaurante también es muy agradable: mucha luz de velas y muy acogedor, especialmente para una noche de invierno. Fui con amigos, ¡pero creo que sería una excelente ubicación para una cita también!

I have been coming to this outlet of Enoteca Da Luca since around 2013 and have never had anything leas than a wonderful meal. The service is fabulous and the food and wine are delicious. Such lovely staff.

Dreadfully poor service. It was a special occasion as well so a massive let down. Can't comment on the food as we only stayed for (very expensive!!) drinks and then left after being ignored once seated at our table for dinner. Will not be back again.

Resto très sympa un peu atypique : le restaurant est coupé en deux par une arche. Une partie de places assises classique et une partie de places assises à des tables hautes. Vue sur le four à pizza. La carte est importante, les pizzas sont bonnes. Des qu'il fait beau, possibilité de déjeuner en terasse devant le resto ou sous l'arche.

Went along here for a staff lunch and we spent over two hours trying to eat, drink and pay before all rushing back to the office! It was insanely slow...like they had never experienced a lunch time service before! How can a place like this function in the city if it takes that long just to give us water (30 mins) or take our order (35 mins)Food was bland too which was a real shame as the staff were all Italian but I guess the chef isn’t! My carbonara tasted like spaghetti with cream sauce I suppose...the meat wasn’t guanciale as promised but looked like pink Aldi bacon. Not one to return to...

Starters were very tasty and there's plenty of waiters/waitresses hanging around... but then the mains were average and waited over an an hour for the food.

Visited here for lunch today and was welcomed by friendly nice staff especially Stefano who went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our time there Would definately recommend this restaraunt /bar and we will definately be going back again.

Visited for a quick business lunch last week with colleagues. My colleagues loved the pizzas and said they were excellent, however the restaurant appeared to be very short staffed and service was quite poor and inattentive. Very odd that they provide uncut pizzas with blunt knives and only appear to possess one pizza cutter. To get a pizza sliced, we had to flag down a member of staff (not easily done), the pizza had to be taken away from the table to be cut as they were not prepared to bring a pizza cutter for my colleagues to cut there own pizzas!. As I don’t eat pizza, I ordered the Grilled jumbo prawns salad. This is listed as a main course, was quite tasty but lacked the salad element and would have been presented as a starter at most Italian restaurants. This was not sufficient or a main course + costs 19.75 + 12.5% service = £22.22 which is extortionate for a starter in an average restaurant. I actually had to pick up a ‘lunch deal’ in the way back to the office to make up for my insufficient main course!Ambience and location good but won’t be returning. Needs sorting.

The service can be iffy but they are all polite and happy but the food and drink make up for it. It is difficult these days to find decent, good Italian restaurant where the food made with fresh Italian ingredients and the wines are well selected and decent London prices - this little place scores high on my list and please keep up the good work.

Love this place. Always get treated so well. All the staff manage to create a really friendly atmosphere. Makes you feel like family. Pizzas are amazing. Going to come back to try more on the menu.

Horrible, non existent service. With a 3.8 score as of today this place obviously has serious problems. Just scroll through the comments to see very similar negative reviews. We waited 15 minutes sat at a table, when there were only 2 other people in the enoteca side, and no one said hello, let alone asked for a drink order or food, despite at least 5 servers walking around. I made eye contact several times and raised my hand at least two times. I was ready to try a bottle of wine, 3 or 4 antipasti and some pasta and likely 2 secondi. This is at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday. I stay close by and was hoping for a good experience but obviously this is off the list permanently for sheer management incompetence and rudeness.

I visited 'Enoteca Da Luca' in London with a friend for dinner on the evening of 25th June 2019. When we arrived it was busy but only at about 65% capacity. We took a table and a waitress came over and gave us a menu after about 5 minutes at our table. Then 35 minutes later no waitress had returned to take a drink or food order. So we got up and left, leaving a note on the back of the menu for the waitress when she eventually decided to return to our table. As we were leaving the waitress saw us and we told her we were leaving as we had been waiting for 35 minutes with no service... She just looked at us with a 'Could not give a damn' attitude then walked off. So that was the first, and the last time, I'll ever visit Enoteca Da Luca. I hope management read this review and give the female waitress staff who were working that evening a chat about what is acceptable 'Customer Service' and what isn't. Terrible service for a restaurant of this type in the City of London. The friend I was with works close by at the Cheese Grater Building and does visit for lunch with business colleagues on occasion... Not anymore!

Queríamos comer aquí pero llegamos antes de las 5. 30 pm, así que tuvimos un poco de vino primero. Tuvimos que esperar 15 minutos antes de que alguien nos atendiera a pesar de que sabían que estábamos sentados allí. El chico que nos servía era muy desagradable, así que decidimos no cenar allí a pesar de que la comida olía muy bien.

Nos topamos con este lugar y fue justo lo que estábamos buscando. Un hermoso lugar auténtico con la más increíble selección de vinos y una comida tan sabrosa. El personal es absolutamente increíble, nos hizo sentir como en casa y fue muy atento y hospitalario. Son expertos en maridaje de vinos y muy útiles para encontrar la combinación perfecta. Definitivamente vendremos aquí otra vez para tomar un poco más de vino delicioso. ¡Gracias!

Ritorno in questo bel locale dopo alcuni mesi. Prendiamo come antipasto una burrata con dei pomodorini freschi, ottima e freschissima accompagnata da della buonissima focaccia all'aglio. Mio marito sceglie un piatto di pici cacio e pepe che non delude le sue aspettative, anzi addirittura le supera, erano veramente squisiti. Io invece scelgo un piatto di orata con un sautè di vongole con spinaci ed n'duja ed anche con l'aggiunta di un paio di gamberoni....veramente una delizia!!!! A questo punto molto sazi scegliamo un dolce da dividere, un'ottimo tortino al cioccolato con salsina alla panna, coulis di lamponi e lamponi freschi....eccezionale!!!
