My partner & I enjoyed Christmas Dinner at Enjoy as part of our break away. The staff were very friendly & the food was presented & tasted superb. A nicely decored restaurant. When we return to Edinburgh we would for sure eat there again. Set in a quiet street & with pubs near by a great choice. Thanks!

Alles in allem uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert.

Visited this restaurant on an Amazon Local deal. At the time we booked, we were the only ones in.Very attentive waiter who brought our prosecco and explained what was available from menu.Decided to go for Main and Starter. Chicken Balmoral and Chef's Rissotto for Main and we both plumped for Sticky Toffee Pudding.First of the Chicken was well prepared and cooked, stuffed with the "Balmoral" (haggis). Served with lovely smooth mash and roof veg and rounded off with ample peppercorn sauce. Delicious. The Rissotto looked delicious and could have sworn it was laced with carrot. Turns out this was actually pumpkin. Had a quick taste and it was a well cooked large portion. How do we know this? The chef himself came out to ask how we liked the Rissotto. Great we said and he went into say it was the first time he had made it. Not so sure about that. Dessert was excellent served with ice cream. If there was one down side it was time taken to serve each course but to be fair this was explained away by saying all plates are cooked to order. Fair enough but not sure how they'd cope when really busy. Prepared to overlook that though because the food was good. We'll be back. Xmas Day lunch already booked purely on strength of this visit.

Hubby and I had the pleasure of visiting Enjoy on Saturday afternoon. Lovely warm welcome from Rahul. This is our fourth visit and has become our favourite eating place, every meal has been spot on. I left room for the Sticky Toffee Pudding this time (one of our company had tried it on a previous visit, needless to say everyone had to have a spoonful, so she didn't have any struggle finding room for her portion). Mmmm but remember it is a large one, served warm with delicious ice cream. Thanks to the staff at Enjoy for another memorable treat.(I know some readers will be fed up with my comments re bread and butter, but it is the only little suggestion I could possibly make on Enjoy, I do love it when a small portion of bread and butter is served to nibble on, on arrival.)

This was our 2nd visit. Last time we thought the dining room was tired looking but the service and food good. This time we thought it really needs a wee paint job. I had the fish cakes to start, 2 on the plate, they were the size of a £2 coin, served with lovely tartare sauce and a couple of lettuce leaves, nice bit not worth £5.95. My husband had the haggis pakora, delicious. Main course I had the curry, the chicken tasted dry and the rice lumpy, how can you get lumpy rice? The sauce tasted as if out of a tin. My husband had the Thai noodles. There was a lack of noodles but plenty of onions. I could have done better myself, disappointing. The service was attentive but a wee bit smarmy. Even though it was a voucher and a present it wasn't value and sad to say we wont be back.

I have eaten at this restaurant twice before and have written a great review, however on my recent visit with friends I was very disappointed. We entered and four of us were left standing for a while before we were approached by a girl who seemed as if she was totally uninterested. We then found a table (not shown where to sit) to top things off we had an itison voucher which I hadn't noticed was a few days out of date my fault but rather than deal with the problem we were left sitting for a long time. The chef came out, took our vouchers and told us they were short staffed, the place was quiet and we were left to sit there feeling very awkward as we still didn't know if we were getting a meal. After about ten mins we decided to leave as it was clear we were being ignored. I can't believe the place has changed so much in a short time, sorry but I wont be back !

We were tempted by a deal to visit, the interior was great and loved that the tables were well spaced out. Helpful and friendly staff though they seemed to be run off their feet despite the restaurant only being half full. Though it was the food that was disappointing. We had haggis pakora starter which was okay, served with the tiniest bit of iceberg lettuce which looked a bit pathetic on the plate. Then my OH had a curry and I had the noodles, the curry was okay but the noodles were tasteless with only a bit heat due to the chilli, they were also greasy, I only ate half. We didn't mind with what we paid for the deal though if I'd been paying full menu prices I would have complained and would have been upset to pay those prices. A shame as could be a great little place of the food was improved.

A dreadful lack of effort to welcome. A waitress who cant speak any english. And that was the good bit. No attempt to exhibit even the tiniest modicum of warmth. When we complained about the main course the chef appeared at our table in a highly aggressive manner demanding to know why his food was poor. I pointed out the aggression and he did back down. Thankfully he wasn't carrying his kitchen knife!!!! Oh...and the food was woeful.....steak that was very low in quality and had more fat than meat and Thai noodles that were barely edible due to saturation in cooking.

I read a recent review which stated that "your are not hurried". Never has a statement been so true, but unfortunately, in a bad way. This is my fourth venture to this restaurant, and have reviewed it most favourably on this website before. This was a restaurant with a cosy bar area, well stocked bar, very friendly, attentive and pro active staff, a menu with an Asian twist, and something different for each course, and food that was prepared and delivered in a professional manner. Oh dear, what a difference six months make. We entered the restaurant a couple of minutes before our reservation time, and were told that the table was not ready. Not a problem, we sat in the comfy bar area for a drink to be told that the bar had no brandy. Not a disaster, but come on Enjoy, this is basic stuff. 15 minutes later, we were ushered to our table. From ordering our starters, it took 40 minutes for it to arrive. After waiting one and a quarter hours we still had not received any mains. When we enquired about the delay in getting our mains, the waitress gave the funniest excuse I have ever heard. She said "well........you did order your steaks well done". After a further 15 minutes we complained to the manager who really did not have a clue what to do about it. So, after arriving at 8.00pm, we eventually got our mains at 9.40pm, and the waitress gave the wrong steaks to the wrong people. For the most part, the food was ok however, one of our party ordered their steak medium rare. This had been obviously rushed out of the kitchen, as the blood oozed out of it and all over the plate. The steak had not been rested properly. Basic error. We overheard the table next to us who also complained about the delays. The response from the waitress when asked "are our meals ready yet", was, "it will be ready when it's ready". The staff must have known that these delays were happening for a reason. You need to tell the customer what the reason is, whether it be short of staff, someone taken ill, new chef. I'm a big boy now, I can handle it........ honestly. The restaurant staff need to apologise and try to make amends.....I'll take something off the bill or would you like a drink while your waiting. Anything to show your awareness of the situation. What we got was a complete lack of honesty, empathy, or pro-activity. In the middle of all of this, the glasses we brought to the table from the bar area were empty and on the table. They would have remained there for the duration of our stay had we not pointed it out to the staff. At no point did the waiter or waitress remove the glasses, or ask if we required more drinks. We had to ask the waitress to clear the table, and to order drinks. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had. Having been three times before, I was really looking forward to great food in great surroundings from pleasant staff. Sorry Enjoy, too many bad things. You've gone from hero to zero in one fell swoop. I will not be coming back.

It was a lovely leisurely experience that we hope to repeat. I have visited this place a couple of times and I haven't been disappointed! Every dish I have tried was very well made and fresh. Roast pork fillet stands out the most and is a must try dish. The pork fillet is a very lean cut and I always worry to get it overcooked and dry, however it was not the case in this restaurant. The pork was tender and juicy, simply cooked to perfection! Sauce and vegetables well complimented the dish. Chicken Balmoral is not commonly seen dish in other restaurants, so it is worth giving it a go in Enjoy. Lamb shank looked really delicious and a huge portion too, so this is what I am getting on my next visit.Staff was very attentive and friendly all the time. The kitchen seems to be well organised too. You don't have to wait for your food to arrive longer on busy nights than on quieter ones, which shows professional attitude and is very uncommon. The restaurant is close to Playhouse, and is a perfect place to go for per-theater dinner and a glass of wine in a lovely elegant atmosphere.

This is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. It started out ok, the starters were edible- bruschetta (no cooking involved) and haggis pakora (nothing terrible but slightly bland), so it was really shocking to be served such AWFUL food as our main course. It took a long time after our starters were cleared for our main courses to arrive- a bad sign when we were the only ones there. My steak was a trifecta of disasters- GREASY, BURNT, and DRY. How it's possible to get something this wrong is beyond me. It was a physical effort to cut through the steak. I told myself it was beef jerky and ate what I could of it. There was a carcinogenic burnt taste, not surprising as the bottom was incinerated. I can only think that maybe this was frozen as I've never in my life had a drier cut of meat. The chips were meh. Tasted like frozen tesco label chips. My partners main was pasta- it tasted like sauce from a jar- with the same slight aftertaste that jar sauce has, and it looked like the 'chef' had thrown in a huge bunch of red chilies in an effort to make it look less like terrible hospital food.No I did not complain- as I stated already, it took ages for this disaster to come out, and I had absolutely no desire to sit around awkwardly in an empty restaurant and wait for another version of this 'food' to come out. Clearly the chef either thinks this level of 'cooking' is acceptable or it would not have come out as we received it. It baffles me that there are positive reviews for this place. The server was very nice which is really the only positive here.

We chose fishcakes to start chicken balmoral as main and home made pannacotta as dessert. All were excellent and served by a waiter who knew when and when not to appear. will definitely visit again

Went here with a few friends recently for an evening meal after finding it on the Tastecard website. It was very easy to find (just off Broughton Street), and the decor was lovely. Excellent service from our waiter (didn't get his name), couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Starters were all well received (soup and mozzarella sticks). My meal was however, totally let down by the main. I opted for sirloin steak, the cut of the meat was good, but it was incredibly greasy along with the mushroom and tomato it was served with. The peppercorn sauce (extra £1.50) also had an odd taste to it. The other two meals we ordered (beef burger and balmoral chicken) were both very nice so I think it's just the steak dish itself rather than the food as a whole. Desserts were lovely. Used tastecard so got 50% off the food bill which made the meal very good value for 3 courses (despite the let down!). Would probably go back but only with tastecard and not for steak!

Located in a quiet street, but 5 minutes walk from princes Street I can't believe I have only just found this place. I discovered it through a livingsocial deal they did, so the value for money was excellent! But I have based my rating on the regular menu prices. A bit more expensive than you would maybe want to pay if going out just because. But not by much, and the quality of food and service is fantastic for the price. The restaurant is clean and well lit, but not too bright with a warm atmosphere, the decor is tasteful for the most part although the art they have chosen is not for me! The server was polite and attentive. The food was lovely. I had fishcakes to start and they were very tasty with not too much potato as can sometimes be the case, my friend had the chicken tandoori skewer, which came with a very fresh mint dip. Both were well cooked, although the fishcakes could maybe have done with a touch of lime juice. For mains we had chicken Balmoral - which I can honestly say is the best version I have had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not too dry which I often find can happen. The haggis was well seasoned, the mash soft and creamy, but the sauce was absolutely delicious! My only feedback would be to consider serving this in a separate dish to allow consumers to choose how much/little to put on. My friend had the penne arrabiata (sp??) which was very tasty! Although not as spicy as she would have liked it was full of fragrant flavours which made up for this. Altogether we will definitely be back - without the incentive of a voucher!

After turning up 45 minutes late having got muddled up with our booking time...entirely my fault we were seated in a lovely table without any issues. The chicken tandoori starter and pate went down well with all of us. For mains all were lovely but the lamb was unbeatable and was named one of the best lamb shanks one of our foodie guests had ever had! For a party of four dining on a tastecard on a Friday night the price was more than reasonable with 4 starters and mains being just £30 ish... well worth a visit! Only issue is it is very hidden so is a bit hard to find but besides that it's warm cosy once you're inside.

Dined here prior to attending theatre. Nice decorated throughout with a nice homely feel. Staff very accommodating and food was very good although I was disappointed that the Lamb Rogan Josh was not available. Opted for madras curry which was good but portion could have been a bit bigger. Nice place oversall.

Bit out of the way but worth seeking out as the food is delicious, the staff the friendliest you could find and even the decor is great...even had a big roaring fire which was just what we needed on a cold December evening in Edinburgh! Would definitely recommend.

Found this restaurant through Tastecard. Went along due to good reviews and recommend you do too. It's a lovely little restaurant, very nicely decorated and very comfortable. The menu is spot on, something for everyone. The 4 of us all absolutely loved what we had. Our server was excellent. Very organised and very friendly. Prices were very reasonable, especially for Edinburgh. I genuinely could not fault the place and will definitely be back. I hope the place does really well, it deserves it.

Received a voucher for this restaurant and went for my Dad's birthday. It was quiet when we arrived, only another one table occupied, but by the time we left it was clear that a number of residents had come to dine. The location is very central and it has a lovely feel to it. The food was fab and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and I do plan to return.

10 of us went the first weekend in October for an early evening meal. Very quiet but the food was lovely - couldn't fault it, and the service was fab too. We had done a deal which was excellent value for money, including our food and a couple of glasses of prosecco each ! Would go again for sure.

We were entertaining clients for the Ryder Cup and stayed at The Albany Hotel. Enjoy is situated in the hotel. What a lovely restaurant with friendly staff. The food was excellent. They prepared a buffet for when we returned from the golf which was all homemade and more than we expected in quality. I would go back again.

This is my second review for Enjoy. The first review praised the restaurant and my second is no different. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by smiling, happy attentive staff who take care of you perfectly from start to finish. The food is delicious and well presented and in my opinion very competitively priced. This is a place where you can eat as a couple, with friends or as a group and I don't think you would ever be let down.As a strong recommendation, the home made curry has always been delicious. Keep up the good work guys.

Visited on sunday and were not disappointed. The place was packed and the staff kept apologising for the wait between courses but have to say we didn't feel we were waiting and in fact it was nice not to be rushed. The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the chicken balmoral and it was really nice. The voucher was for 3 courses but I couldn't manage a dessert and was kindly offered a coffee instead. The staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful. The Rose wine was delightful. We will definately return very soon and urge anyone to try it.

Purchased a Living Social Voucher this the new restaurant in Edinburgh.Went online to the restaurant's website to book the table and was given the option of reserving online through the website and telephoning so we reserved a table online through the restaurant's website. We arrived at the restaurant and was told that they didn't have a note of our reservation and they were fully booked, when I told the very rude and unhelpful member of staff that we booked online that day he admitted that he hadn't checked the online bookings.. He eventually said that they could accommodate us in fifteen minutes so we were asked if we would like a drink - I explained that we had a voucher that included a drink and when he heard this he was even more unhelpful and that "if we had a voucher he really couldn't accommodate" us.Felt that because this was a new restaurant they would be appreciative of any custom!Extremely poor customer service and we will not be back!

A small cosy place. The service was really good, they were very friendly but not in your face. As a dinner date for two, the atmosphere was quite nice. The food was good, but nothing special. The only thing I can fault is the menu seems a bit confused and generic. But, it was an enjoyable evening overall.

Really lovely restaurant - very spacious. Great atmosphere with gentle music playing throughout our visit. Food was excellent - cannot fault it. Good selection on the menu - difficult to make a choice as there were certainly plenty that suited me. Prices were very reasonable and the waiter was very attentive. Will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Given vouchers as gift for this restaurant for 3 course meal. Firstly I have to say that both the chaps at front of house were very welcoming and so friendly. Menu options were explained fully and drinks order taken and delivered promptly. Good selection over all 3 courses offered and I have to say we thoroughly "enjoyed" our food. Something to suit all tastes. Would recommend you try this lovely wee place. You won't be disappointed.

Used my Woucher voucher at Enjoy was good value for money great place really nice ambiance service perfect friendly not overbearing or pretencious would go back again take some friends. We had the mixed indian starter was enough for two people, my husband had the salmon which was really nice sauce was really tasty, that is something I would normally have. I chose the pork fillet, the fillet cooked nice but the sauce was like a thick gravy and overpowered by the taste of rosemary which I'm not sure if it was in the sauce or on the veg which was cremated little bits of not sure what veg? was very disappointed They should just use normal veg as they had with there other dishes which I saw coming out the kitchen and do something to change the sauce wouldn't recommend the pork as it is sorry But overall would go back and try some of there other dishes as I really enjoyed the whole experience of the place.

The food is fine, the only "problem" is that it's not great value for what it is, prices are expensive. The ambiance is awkward , there's only couples who expect a "romantic" moment, and families with old people.

Bought an itison deal for this restaurant after reading the good reviews however the meal was truly disappointing. .steaks were cremated after asking for medium and medium/well cooking..also the actual cut of the meat tasted very poor. .a shame after such a lovely welcome and hospitable waiter.

I got a steak deal through vouchers for my girlfriend and myself. The restaurant is below the Albany Hotel and was very clean and spacious. The deal was for a steak dinner for 2 plus wine. While I swapped my wine for a beer (no additional charge), my girllfriend had the wine, and it was lovely. We ordered a starter on top (Mixed Platter for 2) and this was vegetable samosa, chicken pakora, haggis pakora and something else (can't remember), but the starter was excellent. The steak dinner then arrived, and was cooked to perfection.Staff were exceptionally friendly, but knew when to keep their distance and we were not rushed at all.One of the best meals I have had, and on looking at the menu, prices for the other food were very reasonable. They also have a theatre meal deal, and I will definitely be going back for that, although I will be more than happy to pay full price for my meal. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

I really couldn't say a bad word about this place. I purchased a voucher and what AMAZING value for money, I enjoyed it so much that I bought another 3! I've been twice already, both times we started off with the mozerella sticks and bruschetta and shared between us - absolutely amazing! Mains, we've had chicken balmoral, roast pork fillet, prawn ceaser salad, and the pan-fried salmon, all were beautifully cooked. Desserts - choc fudge cake and home made panna cotta were delicious!! As for the menu being limited without steak, salmon and lamb, I don't agree with that - both times I've been I've really struggled to choose. There are 13 options for mains, and they are listed on the website. 9 options for starters, 5 desserts. When the menu says '£2 extra' for prawns, chicken etc with salad or pasta, this doesn't apply when you have the voucher, of course it doesn't, the total still amounts to less than the other options (common sense!).I think this place is really a wee diamond, all food is cooked perfectly and I most definitely would be happy to pay full price. Also, the waiter doesn't try to force extras on you like sides/alcohol.My new favourite restaurant - love the place!

KGB voucher for this one, 3 courses for 2 people £17. Good value overall, there is a surcharge for salmon, steak and lamb (really limits your choice). What is strange to get your head around in the wanna-be Indian/Scottish pub/posh food restaurant. The starters are mainly Indian, I had chicken pakora and my partner onion bhaji (slight lack of taste), excluding the mains above, there is 1 Indian main, with the rest being on par with pub grub, I opted for fish and chips and my partner a burger, both were good, but probably don't fit on the menu! Other options are pasta (about £8, but you'd need to pay extra to get chicken!?). Deserts were OK, both were nice to round off the meal. Where this place really falls short, and not a criticism to the poor waiter, but 1 member of staff running front of house, bar and waiting!! The random entrance caused patrons to just wander through the restaurant looking for service. Whilst it was quiet when we arrived, it got busier towards the end, which made getting the bill difficult. Oh, and perhaps get some house wine in, asking for house white seems to have caused some confusion!! Wouldn't be back for full price menu, but happy to return with another voucher.

Staying local to this restaurant I looked up reviews to see if worth a visit, saw that people were getting vouchers so went onto KGB & bought one straight away. Phoned the restaurant to book & they took a booking for that very evening for us. Fantastic meal & service. Would have been more than happy to pay full price, meal was so good. Will definately be back & actually feel guilty paying so little! Good value early evening menu also. Highly recommend.

First night of Lotus Leith was fab… Thai prawns… the juiciest satay chicken… flavourful fluffy bao buns and homemade dumplings and spring rolls 😊 All served with the tastiest asian slaw that I’d happily scoff a bowl of on its own…. Give it a try. Can’t wait to see how the menu develops 😊
