Good Coffee, diappointing breakfast , poached eggs were cold.

Great to see the Engine Room Cafe reopened and to enjoy the lovely service, coffee and food. The new owners deserve to do well.

The second star is for The beautiful garden room. The ambience and tranquility can't be ignored. The food however is abysmal and slapped together by a frenzied inexperienced tardy chef who's choice of ingredients is whatever he finds on discount at Cole's. The so called sourdough is just home brand white bread. The food is truly lacking any effort past what a 8year would provide to his mother in bed for her birthday. The coffee was Also weak and watered down All in All The garden room offers beautiful tranquility... but I'd pack a lunch

Was staying in the travel lodge next door and came for breakfast before we left, the food was great value for money and really nice. The staff were great too, really friendly and accomidating! Highly recommend if you are in the area!

We had a group of people with coeliac disease dine here for lunch. The food was delicious and the staff had a great knowledge of how to cook and serve safe gluten free food (make sure to let them know you are coeliac). AND they have a serperate fryer for chips! Their coffee was the best! Will definitely be back

I enjoy the food and hospitality at Engine Room Cafe. Staff are always professional and friendly, and the food and service are great.

This is just down the road from where we live, never been before, will be going again. We had a couple of mexican dishes, sat outside, something you can't guarantee to do very often. Food was good, quick polite service, reasonable prices, what's not to like.

I really wanted pancakes and these guys didn’t disappoint Was a quiet place with several deferent areas to sit and relax Including a garden The service great And thumbs up to the wood fire Will visit again thank you

We dined in and the waitress turned on the log fire for us. On a chilly wet Monday morning it was gratefully received

We were lucky arrived here when it wasnt busy and we sat at the garden so had the garden ourselves. The food wqs just amazing, well cooked and fresh. Tyr staff was also lovely and friendly. Everything was just perfect!

Engine Room is great for Breakfast/Lunch/Coffees. Everything is reasonably priced, plenty of choice. Plenty of room to sit inside, it’s a lovely mill building and there is often music playing in the background which makes a pleasant atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Top Tip: Try the Breakfast Burrito.

Great building, breakfast let it down... We recently went to the Engine room for a breakfast. The building itself is lovely, they have kept most of the original features and you get a real sense of the building in years gone by. Food - I ordered bacon well done, sausages, hash browns and poached eggs. My daughters ordered poached eggs on toast. The positives: one of my daughters received perfect poached eggs and enjoyed their breakfast. Sadly my other daughters' and my poached eggs resembled eggs that had been boiled for a week, the sausages were ok, but I did not think much to the thick bacon. I asked if I could have replacement runny poached eggs, the lady did not have a problem with this request however, it took an age for them to come and by the time they did the breakfast was cold and I left most of it, which was a waste of food and money. Small issues that could be easily rectified. Again lovely building...

Stayed at the Travelodge nearby and came here for breakfast. Good healthy options aswell as English Breakfast. Coffee was lush. Popped back in for a yummy toastie for lunch. Prices are very reasonable and food is very tasty. Staff helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit.

We live locally and like to eat out for breakfast every so often. Called here as we had to visit Dean Clough. Very pleasant and attentive staff, good variety of foods, food as ordered arrived in reasonable time. Constant flow of folk calling for coffees and takeaways. We felt comfortable there, nothing to quibble about hence 5 stars.

Closes at 1.45pm ridiculous, food in the fridge is unappealing cheap looking rolls with unimaginative filling. Place was empty and lacks any atmosphere. Staff need to cheer up.... Oh and if you going to respond in a defensive manner probably say it all!

Great little place for a casual breakfast or lunch. Noticed that wherever I have had this meal, the Engine Room has to date been the best value between here and Hervey Bay, other places seem too skimpy on serves.

This was our first visit to The Engine Room at Dean Clough and it won't be our last! We had a warm welcome from the counter staff. My gluten free breakfast was delicious and well presented. Self service water was available.

Great hidden gem of Toowoomba to get a good cup of coffee, spacious seating, cosy and comfortable atmosphere, a must if you’d like to just hide and get away for a few minutes from the hustle bustle. Good value meals, the big breakfast is a must try. Recommended A++.

Hard to fault here, my wife had the avocado on toast and was very happy with it, coffee is Belaroma which I personally like. Service was prompt and frendly. Coffee prices are good, food maybe a little high.. only reason for not giving5 stars is there is little atmosphere about the place, it's just a big warehouse

Delicious food and great drinks

On the first Friday in January not much was open. We came across this cafe near the trace lodge and there was a steady influx of locals for their regular breakfast. The place was clean and warm and the menu clear and easy to understand. We had two full breakfasts for £5.00 which were really tasty and good value. There were plenty of sausages and bacon & eggs along with fresh tomatoes and mushrooms. Toast and baked beans came as well. The tea came in large mugs and was great. A really nice place and worth a trial.

Great place to catch up and have a coffee with business colleagues. Easy to park with good value, great service.

A friendly welcome and served a bottle of cold water upon being seated. Two Healthy Benny’s with bacon for breakfast with coffee. A nice family atmosphere.

They forgot to add hair to the menu. Mushrooms didn't taste fresh, seemed like they were canned. Ham was very salty, I don't think it was proper leg ham. Overall pretty mediocre. Iced coffee was meh, and service was just ok. Wouldn't return but people looking for a just ok breakfast may like this.

Sunday breakfast and I ordered the Lambs Fry and was interested to learn that it's one of the most popular dishes at the Engine Room. By the time I had soaked up the last drop of gravy I knew why 😀

Great Food, excellent staff, can't go wrong

Every so often I'll pop round with friends for a quick lunch, and it's always a fantastic value for money with quick service and delicious food. Vegetarian options are slowly growing too.

Nothing beats a good old fashioned burger and the burgers at Engine Room Cafe are absolutely delicious!!! Great coffee too! Oh and if you're feeling Mega hungry try their Mega Eggs Benny, it's massive!!

The best place to get coffee in Toowoomba. The place is large and roomy with lots of seating but does get quite busy on the weekends. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I have visited a few times and have found the coffee to always be of a high standard, fresh and excellent quality, well made. The food is always fresh and delicious. Very reasonably priced and good variety of food.

First time I have visited Dean Clough and visited the Engine Room Cafe, for breakfast. The cafe is on the ground floor of a former carpet mill lots of car parking and on a Saturday it’s FREE!! Good selection of food on the menu and I chose the Full English Breakfast, it was large and delicious the full monty, eggs ,bacon,tomato,mushrooms, sausage,baked beans and beautiful brown bread ( White Bread was available). I had a coffee which was first class with milk provided on the side. All this for £6.30 including coffee. What a bargain for this quality of food. Breakfast is from 8-00am to 1-30pm on a Saturday. The surrounding massive mill buildings are a joy to behold.

The Cafe was packed to capacity and then some, but the service, the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the breakfast were incredible as usual. Thank you, and of course we will be back!

Very pleasant cafe within this great complex. Being based in the old engine room it as an industrial style. Serve very good coffee and nice choice of cakes.

It was a hot morning. These was no air-conditioning, but a row of fans. These were all switched off. None of the windows were open. The place smelt of greasy cooking due to minimal ventilation. (They seem to do this regularly).The breakfast was good value, but the sausages were cremated, the bacon was overcooked. (So not so good after all).There are very few other establishments around offering breakfast and the Travelodge hotel nearby has no breakfast room, so they have little competition.

Went there last weekend on a cold rainy Saturday. It was a warm oasis of calm. We were welcomed and shown to table by a friendly young lady, water magically appeared on the table and we sat down to look at the menu. I am NOT vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination but Tripadvisor reviewers raved about the Haloumi burger, & they were not wrong...totally delicious. My wife and daughter shared a Big Breakfast and apparently the locally sourced bacon was to die for. All food was fresh and the coffee was spot on... We have noted this cafe as a go-to when in Toowoomba... Well done team !!

We ate breakfast here whilst staying at the Travelodge and attending a weeding at The Arches. The food is excellent and very sensibly priced, we loved the full English Breakfast! The cafe is usually closed on a Sunday morning, but they opened it especially for our wedding group and we all ate there and loved it. Excellent service - doing something like that is above and beyond the call of duty, and not many places would be that flexible. Well done!!

Had a wonderful breaky was great, the food could of been a bit hotter. The coffee and tea was superb. Next time in Toowoomba we will definitely come back.
