I don't do dinner as a northern lad. Midday meal is dinner. My wife and I called in here as we heard it was good. We were not disappointed, expecting something similar to the cafe in Keighley's main shopping mall. The cafe on North Street was more upmarket than we expected. The pricing was reasonable. There was a nice choice of meals, not all featuring chips. My wife and I had a chiabatta bacon sandwich with mushrooms, it came accompanied by a small side salad. We also ordered a pot of tea for two. It came in a large earthenware tea pot, not the usual metal teapot with just enough for two cups. We comfortably had two cups each. Service was very good. I thought there were only two pub/cafes in Keighley where we could have a proper meal. We now have another choice. The restaurant also has pensioners meals Wednesday to Friday. We will definitely go to the 'Kettle' again.

Two of us with two kids arrived at 1230 as per our reservation, but were only seated 10 minutes later. The drinks order was taken at 1300, and the drinks came at 1315. The food order was taken at 1315 and the food only arrived at 1345, a full 1hr 15m after we'd arrived. The waiting staff were friendly and apologetic, but if you have a look at the reviews the owner is prone to abusing people who post anything other than a 5-star review.

Really wonderful find. Seems to be in an old bank building. The menu was not too big and really interesting collections of dishes. We tried 4 different dishes, all different and all wonderful. The polish sausage dish was lovely, the Dutch pancakes wonderful. The butter bean miso was probably the best dish of the day. Recommend

Sunday lunch ( you have to book fairly early because they literally turn the lights out at around 14:00 ). The ambience is pleasingly unusual - the high ceilings of this old bank interior , the kitch decoration ( more gold paint than a catholic church ) , and the gentle cheesy 70's pop via a gentle and rich sound system; all demonstrate that much thought has gone in to creating this environment. And this is not a trivial aspect to me because so many eateries get it wrong and inflict harsh noise on their customers. I ordered a breakfast style dish with eggs , hollandaise plus the extra bacon. quite a long wait for the food - such that my pot of tea had rather cooled down [ decent tasting tea though ! ] . Another refreshing surprise when the dishes arrived within large plates and a generous surrounding simple salad thankfully devoid of the nasty quality coleslaw that is the norm. It was good and certainly better than average; not the best I have sampled but you have to remember this is BD21 not HG5 . .. Another ( rare) positive aspect for me is that there was no "fodie" smell at all in the dining area. I definitely wish to return to sample some other dishes. * Now - the only significant thumbs - down was the towel for drying hands in the toilet ; Er - just NO - ghastly . Disposable paper towels please !!!

Absolute rip off. £30 for breakfast! In Keighley! Trying to be something they are not. They try to make you book a table, never seen more than 6 people in there. Spend your money on average food elsewhere.

Great food but ... after asking for orders in advance, which I did, more then a week before, was told my order was incomplete because they had over sold in the morning!! Not acceptable and specially not when the staff reply is: nothing I can do now!!! Room for improvement considering the quality of your food

We went for lunch a few weeks ago and the food is good but the service insofar as taking our order and responding to our questions was poor, we asked about the price of the cakes and we were told £2 twice but at the till they were £2.95, also our order was incorrect, we tend to order based on the cost as much as anything, for example were charged £1.50 for several slices of bacon but also £1.50 for two slices of tomato, which we didn't order, the staff are really nice and the place is quirky but nice but almost £30 for a very simple lunch IE two sandwiches with two coffees was way too much.

We went for breakfast and it did not disappoint. Plenty of food and a lot of different things on the plate but the polish sausage was really good so highly recommend that for sure. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Drinks well made and hot as they should be. Anyone entry is looking for a good breakfast at a reasonable price for the level of food supplied then give this place a go.

I picked a bad day to try this place for the first time and take my daughter for her birthday lunch - it was a disaster. We arrived at 1.30pm under the impression it was open open until 4pm, and were told the kitchen had closed at 1pm, due to staff issues and the place was going to close at 2pm. Not even sandwiches available. I pointed out their Facebook page didn't mention this and was told they don't generally accept walk-ins, just bookings, so I guessed they tell people of the change when they call to book. Ok, but given the place was only maybe a quarter full, I found it strange they don't welcome walk ins during the day. It made us feel like they were doing us a favour by letting us in and I now wish they'd refused us entry. So, we decided to have a drink and cake. My daughter asked for a scone with jam and cream and the only other choice was a chocolate orange cake. A few minutes later, we were then told they had no cream and as my daughter isn't a cake eater, she just had a coffee. We finished our drinks quickly and I went to pay, but on top of everything, I was then charged double and the owner had to be asked to action a refund, which still hasn't shown up on my Credit Card. The only good thing about our visit was that the chocolate orange cake was delicious. I had read great things about the food there, but I won't be risking a second visit.
