Embers in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

I live in France and they have better pizzas than the Italians. I went to Embers tonight and they've just hit the top of the table. Absolutely superb all round. Thank you. 🥰

We have eaten here several times when we’ve been in Padstow and were really looking forward to visiting again. Unfortunately it was a real disappointment, the food was tasteless and the focus seemed to be on takeaway rather than in-house diners. Sorry to say this but we won’t return.

Embers Pizza is the sort of place that serves a perfectly serviceable pizza, but one that doesn’t quite warrant a postcard home. The prices are a notable disappointment, particularly for a takeaway, leaving a lingering sense of having paid more than the experience merits. The garlic bread, unfortunately, was a peculiar affair—its strange taste rendered it barely edible, and we found ourselves leaving most of it behind. It’s not a complete disaster, but compared to Rojano, which offers a superior takeaway experience, Embers falls short. In the grand tapestry of Padstow’s dining scene, this is decidedly the least enjoyable chapter.

Lovely little gem. Town was so busy and we was looking for a decent place to eat. It was great choice. Service was quick and prompt. We had prawns for starter and belive me or not they were to die for. Chicken pesto pasta was so delicious that I'm still dreaming of it. Literally it was one of the best pasta I had for a long time ( even when pasta was slightly overcooked). Well done to all young people who work there as they doing great job!

Just had dinner at Embers and it was a great experience!! My husband and I both got pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed them - which is not something I get to say often since I am gluten intolerant and normally have to make do with dense, rock-hard dough even if the topping is good. Not so here! My gluten free dough was light and fluffy as you like, while the tomato sauce and toppings were really tasty and generous. The only slight issue was my mum's pasta was a little overcooked, but the sauce was good. Drinks were great. All in all, so happy we came and would thoroughly recommend.

Such a shame! Ordered 6 Pizzas to pick up. Including a Gluten free Margherita and a normal one. Neither of these Pizza's were labelled which is very poor service. The Gluten free Hawaiin was pitiful, see picture. The other 5 Pizzas were very nice. It was unfortunate our meal was tarnished by the other one.

Great place to eat in Padstow. Food is amazing and service is excellent. Also does the best coffee in the area. Highly Recommend

Absolutely fantastic little place. Customer service is brilliant the staff can't do enough for there customers.

The older blonde woman has the worst customer service skills I have ever encountered. While we were standing outside we must have heard her try and put off at least 3 lots of customers saying the wait time was going to be very long. Went back to collect £80 worth of pizzas an hour later at the time she rudely told us to return for her to tell us without even asking what our name was that they wouldn’t be ready because she knows they wouldn’t be and then she just walked of again to answer the phone and try and put more customers off ! Dread to think how much business she must be costing the place. It’s such a shame as the place looks lovely but you shouldn’t have to deal with such lacklustre service when choosing this place over all the other food places within a 30 second walk!

Amazing food. Dough balls are a must!! Service is quick and the staff are excellent. There is a specials board that gives you a few extra choices aswell. We decided to get the pork feast, BBQ Chicken and the sweet and spicy (that one was on the specials board). If you are visiting or staying in padstow I would highly recommend eating out at Embers!! We went for tea one night and then shared a pizza another day for lunch.

If you love balls in your mouth, this is the place for you! Shared the vegan dougballs with my friends. I’m not vegan and I couldn’t believe how tasty the vegan cheese was. Good pizzas but a little sweet for our liking. Good vegan and gluten free options

The pizzas are really tasty & the portions are huge. Our son also really enjoyed the starters, especially the nachos & dough balls.

Great pizza, the best I've had in ages. Reminds me of pizzas past in France and Portugal. Highly recommended.

The place was empty when we arrived around 6pm in January, but we were delighted to see that they were open! The food was yummy and the service was very friendly. I would return.

Delicious pizza and chocolate fudge cake, lovely atmosphere and all served piping hot. Would recommend booking if you want to eat in the restaurant, as it’s quite small. Will definitely be back!

We came here for the gluten free pizza, which was good in itself. But everything we ordered (two pizzas and some wedges) came out burnt. If this is local to you it may be worth a visit, I don’t know. But we drove an hour to get here for their gluten free pizza and it wasn’t worth the drive. Service was good, ambience is ok, restaurant was warm inside being January was a cosy welcome.

Food, as always, was amazing. I only visit once a year (sadly...its a long way from home!), always on my birthday night, and always have a great experience. Pizzas are delicious and very well made, the loaded nachos are amazing, and waffle desserts simply lovely! Service is great, attentive and friendly. All-round awesome.

We had pizzas to takeaway. The base was very tasty, which is a good thing, as the topping was very sparse. Some might call it authentic Italian, but we just thought it stingy.

Great evening, food and service both good, great little pizza place

Ordered 2 pizzas for collection. Then walked back to campsite to eat them. Both pizzas were wrong, my wife's was a Margherita when she ordered a N'Duja and I ordered a Pulled Pork with BBQ sauce and the sauce was missing.Very disappointed. I cannot recommend to anyone on my experience which is a pity as I had heard good things.

We ordered a takeaway pizza at lunch time to collect early evening when we collected it and opened it up we had a completely different order luckily we were staying 5 mins away so we returned it and had to wait whilst they recooked it. On opening the boxes the size of the pizza was really disappointing for the cost £27 for 2. Not sure whether we would bother eating from there again.

Amazingly Pizza. This place is justifiably busy all the while so we had a takeaway, it was so tasty,. We had had 2 Pizza Margherita and 1 gluten free and vegan Pizza Margherita with chilli. Pizza were a good size and very filling. They were all superb. Staff are very courteous and pizza was ready when they said it would be. Highly recommended

I had a take away and the lady servicing us was very helpful. The toppings on the pizzas were great but the base was very burnt. At first I thought it was charred but the taste was burnt and not very nice. Be sure to check the base before you leave with your take away.

We visited on 03/06/2023 A lovely little place with great service and pizzas. Gluten Free bases / sides available. Very accommodating for a table as we hadn’t booked. My wife has coeliac disease and the staff were very knowledgable about the ingredients of the mains and sides. They left the sauce out of the dirty wedges so she was able to eat them. The gluten free pizza base had crispy crusts with soft tasty toppings. The taste was incredible. We will definitely return.

Wow, wow, simply gorgeous pizza and garlic bread. We enjoyed it so much we booked again for a couple of days later. This was a totally smashing meal and great service too. Two very happy customers 😁❤️😁

Seriously really good pizzas, without soggy bottoms! Which is my main disappointment sometimes with pizza. Dirty wedges were great too.

Amazing food, but you need to book ahead at busy times (even for a takeaway slot). If you like spice, get them to add jalapenos to a Sticky Pig pizza. It's unbelievably good.

Great service and ace food. Very small restaurant but the staff will do their best to either get you a space or plan in a time to get your pizza cooked to take away. Like a well oiled machine!

Ordered the pizza at 5:30 was told one hour for two pizzas anymore and we would have to wait till 8:00. Rude to my friend who was asking questions as her daughter who has coeliac. Went back to pick up the pizzas was told a few minutes we ask to use the toilet for my 5 year old only to be told rudely that it’s only for costumers, we asked why she couldn’t use we was getting a takeaway and she’s desperate only to be told aggressively no. Pizza wasn’t bad but staff were rude and aggressive, I wouldn’t go if you have allergies or intolerance wasn’t very confident the pizza wasn’t cross contaminated as my daughter was ill the next day.

The best pizza ever on par with local fine dining experiences locally. We had barbecued chicken and sticky pig with the most amazing dough balls for a take out, make sure you ring and book a slot, thoroughly recommend!

Great food!! Tiny place to dine in but there’s a takeaway option. The king prawn linguine was surprisingly delicious for a pizza stop. The service was good with friendly staff.

Great Pizza's!, worth booking in advance, highly recommended

Pretty decent pizza, better than most places and certainly more authentic than all of them. Paid £16 for a meat pizza which I thought was a bit too much. Not sure if this is the price year round or just in summer however. I’d love to go again but wouldn’t at that price Was ready in ten minutes however which is frankly amazing

Absolutely awful! I went to their website to book and the only time available was 6:30 which would not be doable as we lived too far away to make it in that time. I called up at 18:27 as we were only looking for a table for two. The girl that I spoke to on the phone said that being late would be fine and that we should go ahead and book the table for 6:30. 10 mins later, as we were on our way, they called to check that we still wanted the table and informed us that they needed the table back by 7:45, when on the booking it said we had until 8. Upon arrival (about 7:10) I was told that the table was needed for 7:30 instead. We explained the situation and that we had been told that it would be fine, but they refused to give us any longer than 7:45. We accepted this and asked how long it would take to cook a pizza and was told that it probably wouldn’t be enough time for it to arrive and for us to eat it. At this point we said we’d just leave it only to be told that there was a cancellation fee of £20 per head which hadn’t been mentioned at all until this point. The girl that I spoke to on the phone the first time tried to claim that I had called them way earlier than 6:27 and was clearly trying to shift blame to us. We ordered two drinks, paid for them and left. I hope they’re happy with their £4.40! However, I do want to commend one of the workers (young, long brown hair) for recommending an alternative restaurant, Pucelli’s, that we went to instead and received excellent food and service!

Small restaurant but great pizza

Absolute 5 star service! So friendly and accommodating to all our needs when we visited for lunch with our two young boys. The food was faultless and the "Di capra" pizza was divine. Delicious espresso martini was a welcome surprise. Would recommend this place to everyone!!

Absolutely delicious pizza. A great choice of toppings including white creme fraiche base which was good for me as I can't have tomatoes. I went for mushroom, garlic and parmasan. Nice atmosphere and friendly servers. I'd recommend booking as it was busy!

Had some dough balls so much grease coming out them and they where burnt

We have been there for a take away and were rejected because they only accept "have in" after sometime.( It was around 8pm). However later we realised that other people received their takeaways after us. Go to Chip Ahoy which is opposite of them and enjoy delicious fish and chips.

Not a great place at all we wanted a take away and the rude woman sat buy the take away hatch said straight away it will be an hour. Obviously this company is making alot of money to do one pizza an hour.would not recommend this company if you want take away better of ringing dominos you would still get it quicker

A regular spot for us when in the area. Prices are not over inflated for the tourist trap of Padstow. Friendly efficient staff - everything came out correct even with additions and subtractions to most of our order. All good!

Lovely pizza, very friendly staff and food was out before we knew it! The dough is really crispy and flavoursome and everything freshly made.

Uncooked pizza was so bad it was more like a wrap you could easily roll up.

What a little gem! Too many people are blinded by the celebrity chefs who are taking over this gorgeous little seaside town. You’d battle to find a more genuine, friendly and caring owner operator. The food was incredible, beer fresh and service impeccable. 💯 back for more when next in Cornwall!

Lovely pizzas, in a lovely cosy restaurant

I just had two pizzas from here for myself and my partner, they squeezed us in for a takeaway when very busy which was appreciated but we had issues with both our pizzas, they were suspiciously good. Too good to be true. The dough was delightful, cooked to perfection both sauce bases we had were packed of flavour and delicious not your boring basic Passata sauce and the toppings were clearly high quality and top top notch. Book in advanced but don't miss out, ace.

Small intimate restaurant with great food and selection. Would highly recommend the mushroom pizza with truffle oil, it was AMAZING. Thank you to the staff for a great lunch!

Staff would speak to you better if you was stuck to the bottom of their shoe. The whole basis of the restaurant is pizza, could do with being able to make them quicker than once every hour and a half.

No vegan option unless you just leave some ingredients out and get charged the same.pizxa ok but that's it.No sweet menu for us, was on menu but no ice cream no milkshakes no sorbets no apology very very poor. Plrase don't say you are catering for vegans when you are not

Just managed to get a lunch time table as it's very popular. I can highly recommend the jalapeno, goats cheese and carcaramelized onion pizza. Perfect base.

Brilliant pizzas and the starters are delicious and a good.portiok size. Lovely drinks available but definitely need to book if wanting to sit in. Takeaway orders need to be placed the day before.

Delicious wood fired pizza in the heart of Padstow. Strong selection of local toppings for their pizzas. Doughballs are a must have as well as the garlic pizza bread. The white base Mushroom Pizza is to die for as well as the Sticky Pig! Staff are attentive and very friendly. Top Tip, BOOK your pizza slot. They're so busy for both takeaway and dine in that you'll be lucky to get a walk in takeaway slot on the evening. We dined in at 6.30pm and their next takeaway slot (people coming and asking) was at 9.30pm.

If you fancy a take out then you need to book hours in advance has it no normal take out.
