Popped in here after purchasing a few bits and bobs. The lady who served us was great. Polite and informed us that the cakes were all home made. You can tell as they are very very tasty. Pair that with a great cup of tea....fantastic.

Visited the 6 towns antique and vintage emporium today, can't comment on the tea rooms because they were closed! But my young son bought 2 wrestling figures with his own money, within minutes of him playing with them 1 of the figures broke! Very dissappointed and won't be going back!

Now being run by Emma. Super friendly service and boiled egg and soldiers cooked to perfection. You can peruse all the vintage items while its being cooked and get called over when the food is ready.

This cafe has just reopened as The Little Tea Room, with a new proprietor, Emma. We visited today for lunch, a cup of tea and a slice of cake. Everything was really tasty and very good value. Top marks for friendly service and we spent a fun hour looking around the attached antiques shop afterwards. Thank you and we're looking forward to our next visit!

Had a very nice cream tea and enjoyed chatting with staffs who are very friendly, and found some bargain! If you're into vintages, antiques and good food, this is the only place in Hanley. Honestly.

This little gem was recommended to me by a friend and I wasn't disappointed!! The homemade soup (which I think will become renowned for its taste 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) had ran out ☹️(it was late in the afternoon and they were making another batch as I was there); BUT, I wasn't disappointed with the ploughman's I chose and a lovely pot of tea ☕️. My son had met me there and found the Victoria sponge delicious 😋. Lovely place to eat, delicious & friendly oh, and not forgetting the fantastic antique emporium 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thank you 😊

Elsie's was recommended to us by a friend so we made a brief visit earlier this week. The tea room is part of the amazing antique emporium which takes up about two thirds of the building. The building itself is the old St John's Church which is a listed building and so avoided destruction when the nearby Potteries Shopping Centre was built. We only had time for a quick drink - the leaf tea and coffee both passed the taste test with flying colours - but having seen the array of home made cakes along the counter we will most certainly be back when we have a little more time. The staff were delightful and the whole ambience was very pleasing. Keep up the good work folks!

First time visiting today with my nan and grandad. It was absolutely beautiful and relaxed. Really nice feel to the place, good use of the church, really tasty and fresh home-made sandwiches/cakes! The antiques shop was beautiful! Got myself a lovely vintage skirt! Really enjoyed my afternoon, would definitely recommend and would definitely visit again! The tea deal for two would definitely feed a third person! Beautiful place, really friendly staff also! X

We've been here a few times since it opened in July. The last time was for a very special occasion, it was my grandparents 66th wedding anniversary and it also happens to be the church they got married in too! We had a lovely meal, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, tea, coffee. Elsie and staff made us all very welcome as they always do, it was also my 40th birthday the same day and we booked our tables in advance, when we arrived there was a card for and one for my grandparents too, balloons and beautiful flowers on our table. They had also contacted our local paper to arrange for them to be there and interview my grandparents and take photos. Needless to say my grandparents loved very minute of it and made such a magical day for them and myself. Elsies tea room and the antique centre is a must visit, the food and drinks are amazing. Get there early to try one of their freshly made scones straight from the oven with clotted cream and jam, they are to die for! Our family highly recommend this gem of a tea room, so happy it's open. Xxxx

This is the perfect place to enjoy an excellent pot of tea (the best I have had in the UK to date - loose leaf not bags) and high quality, fresh home-made food which is served in a very friendly manner. The tea room is in the historic St John’s church, Hanley, which is one of the oldest buildings in the Potteries area - built around 1790s. There is a calming atmosphere that is aided by the wonderful stained glass windows that are still in situ. It is fantastic to see this building saved from ruin and being put to good use. The building is still in the exciting stage of restoration, so visiting it now means that you are being a small part of that. A great feeling! Around the cafe you will find antique stalls. This helps with the ambience and makes sure that your visit is nothing like going to the typical tea shop that you find in the high street. Everything that is sold at Elsie’s Tea Room is made to order and served and presented beautifully on vintage china. Being vegetarian my partner and I had one of the Elsie’s Special Sandwiches: Roasted red pepper, hommus, avocado with crumbled feta and dressed rocket. Was fantastic! Was not expecting such high quality food and presentation from a ‘tea shop’. We thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Ten out fo ten. This is a friendly, warm and inviting tea room that is very much worth a visit for either a snack, light lunch or afternoon tea. The choices of teas are excellent. Elsie serves up specialty sandwiches, soups, salads and even jacket potatoes. All food that I saw being delivered to the tables was obviously made with love and care. Being a non resident of England I would like to acknowledge the work that the owners have made and are making to restore ‘that little bit of Hanley history’. I have travelled from Australia to Stoke-on -Trent regularly for many years and I have passed St John’s Church many times lamenting that it was going to fall into disrepair and disappear like so many of its kind. Not any more. We will definitely be returning here on our next UK trip. If I lived in the area I have no doubts that Elsie’s Tea Room would become my local.

We had a really lovely all day breakfast from here, quality ingredients and yes it take a bit longer but everything is fresh and cooked as needed. Didn't leave hungry. Police, friendly staff. Yes its a bit dated but its and industrial café, which mostly serves truckers.

We chanced it here as the place we originally wanted to go couldn't seat us and I'm glad we did. The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing (2for£12), the atmosphere was great as were the staff. We've been previously when it was Klay, but now under Pig & Pitchfork.
